Good evening all,

Reffed 2 games this AM.  Both were blowouts.  I was a little miffed at one coach.  The game was tied 3-3 at the end of 3 quarters, but the one team exploded for 6 goals in the last quarter.  After 3 or 4 goals, she could have called the dogs off, but instead left the scorers up top to run up the score.  Maybe karma will give her some payback.  Mowed the yard this afternoon after watching Man City smoke Southhampton 3-0.  Great weather today, but tired now.  Tomorrow will be a long day.  9 AM Mass followed by 2 hour trip to sister's place for Easter dinner.  At least we can leave when we want.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening,

Was cutting grass up on the east end and got caught in a downpour yesterday and was drenched before I got the tractor back to the shed.

Mark & Mark came over yesterday and we installed another handrail to the basement steps on the right side.  Kind of a PITA those two 22.5 degree cuts to make the return to wall, but it looks nice. Now wifey wants to carpet the stairs.

Once the glue was dry on the corners, I pulled the rail off and stain it today so it will match the other one.

Got to 86 today but never dried up much so I did not get much grass cut but the berm behind the shed and the northeast end I did not get done yesterday. Everything else is a swamp. I bought a 30 pack yesterday of Bush Light for Mark & Mark and they only had a few so I am choking  them down. Bet I pay tomorrow. UGH!

You guys have a great Easter.

Good evening all,

Did a practice run today.  Only did 10.8 miles in 3 hours.  Perfect weather conditions and I was in the mind set to do 13.1 but could not get it done.   Wife says I did not have 30,000 of my closest friends with me or all the cheerleaders cheering me on as I cruise the famous 2.5 mile speedway.  Most importantly, there is no yard of bricks to kiss either.   Still have time for some more runs.   I did get to see my switching move in Greensburg in a long time.   The Honda train pulled out along where I was running, stopped and then backed to couple up more cars and then pulled out for its run.  I came home and slept for 3 hours.  Watched Blue Bloods tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' boys.  Partly sunny and 70 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Prepping a caboose and passenger car for painting.  The carpenter is installing the wood I painted into the 1309's new cab, and it looks sharp.

Had a brief 3 day visit with Fifepup this past weekend.  Didn't realize how close to Augusta, GA that Lake Murray, SC is, and ran into the crowd from the Masters.  It was a nice birthday present to me, and it is good to see that the boy is making things work.

rt - Next time, I will look you up, as this trip was all about Chris.  If you and the Mrs. go to Liberty on the Lake, he may be bussing tables.  He's the one who looks like a Hershey kiss, with legs.  If you can, go when Kelly Jo and Buffalo are playing; pleasant music and a pleasant spot.  He loves Irmo, and wants to stay there.

Get well soon, Buckeye.

I did my last MOS training for The Army at Fort Gordon (just South of Augusta, GA). They have a nice river walk along the Savannah River, with some nice shops and eateries. When I was there The Hooters was a popular place to dine. Of all their shops, that was the place with the nicest waitresses (personality fellas).

Not much else happening these days. Matthew has his first T-Ball game tomorrow. His new bat (24 inch, 14oz) and left handed throw mitt showed up today. Hope to work with him on batting, fielding, and throwing tonight. He seems to have picked up interest since last weeks' practice! Christina is upset that she doesn't have a game tomorrow, her first game is next Saturday.

Sun and 60s today, pretty normal for around here. Walmart has removed the dog sled parking area so that's a good sign of spring. A Good Friday service at noon with a potluck lunch after. I need to go if I expect to get fed today.

Good morning. 60 degrees. Think Gerald had a big rain shower. Missed us and dissipated. Tomato plants looking happy this AM.

Maybe wash the pickup as it needs it.

Wifey went to work for a short time. Then off to SIL's for bar-b-qed chicken and ribs. Someone else cooking. For years, that was my job for the in-laws. Went to their house and fired up grills. Cooked for a big crowd. Seems good to just show up and eat.

Hope all have a good and safe one.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Good walk at noon.  Picked up 21 inch mower tonight and ate at a dine-in Pizza Hut.  Pretty nice.   Kevin, good progress on the layout.  Looks nice.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Wifey wants no parts of Lake Murray as it has to many drownings and it just spooks her.  I live in a small town about 1/2 way to augusta from Lake Murray. Depending how you go.

been doing a lot today some around the house some away from here.

Train wise. The more I look at the garage and the power to it and what I have as power to the house I'm leaning on getting it's own line in. Instead of upgrading the house at this time and running 4 lines to the garage, one being 220W.

Be easier and more econimical I believe to just run another hook-up to the garage. Yes two bills but the second one shouldn't be that much.

Evening all!

70's again today. Cloudy/partly cloudy. Still predicting rain for Sun.

Have spent the last couple of days praring for a city sponsored free electronics recycling event Sat. Prepped 3 old desktops, 2 old laptops, and 3-4 Old cellphones. Disk drives and batteries removed (they don't take batteries). Also loaded up old wireless & wired routers, print servers, USB hubs, etc., along with numerous cables and chargers. Also have a lot of files to go through as there is also free document shredding.

Dougnotta - Laugh

Fife - I assume this loco you are working on runs and this is a refurbish for operation? Glad the fife pup visit went well.

KEV - looking good!

Busy lately.  Have just had time to lurk.

Spring has arrived - had a stretch of 10 days where we didn't see the sun.  It has finally appeared the last few days.

Train related work has been making bent wood brackets for a G gage layout in the freight room  at the KATY museum.  Finally got an 8' section of shelf and track  mocked up for approval.  Looks like it is time to order more track and bend up more brackets.

Got a set of 2017 Lionel catalogs in the mail a couple weeks back.  Seems like prices have taken a jump.  Thinking about ordering the Pere Marquette Berkshire with Lionchief.  That will take a large bite out of this year's train budget.

About all for now.

Good Afternoon from sunny 70°F Southern Ohio

It has been super busy around here.  The work schedule has me working 50 hours a week so I'm leaving home at 5:30 am and getting home after 8 pm most nights unless there is a ball game or picking up kids from a practice.  Right now I'm covering for two supervisors over crews in two different buildings that are fortunately close together distance wise but two crews makes the 12 hour shift go by real fast.

I'm off today and led the Stations of the Cross with the kids from the Elementary today instead of Friday because school will start Easter vacation.  As usual it has been great working with them during Lent.  The kids led singing the Divine Mercy Chaplet and it was beautiful.  It has been a great Lent and being with them has been a blessing for me.

Buckey – I pray you have a fast recovery.

Kev – the elevated roadway is looking really nice

Need to go

May God bless

Jim

Good morning.

 Get well Buckeye.

Yesterday was nice so got to have rain today. 48 heading to 63 and rain all day.

Worked on the elevated line yesterday. Took Fife’s advice on the flat black for the bents.

Started removing the upper loop for deck painting and girder rails. I found some neat 1/16" rubber mat on clearance at Menards I am cutting to fit the platform to kill the sound and it looks like black gravel ballast. I am gluing it down with old leftover headliner adhesive I had since the GTO restoration days.

So it should make it nice and easy. I bought two kinds of glue to see what will work best on the railing.

The light is for under the viaduct where the bump run is for the #50 car.

Hope to finish up the back straight sections and get them back in place. Then run the 110 for the lighting then figure out how to do the curve sections.

Here are some pictures .

Rubber mat.

Cut FRP strips for the rail.

Mat on deck

Glue work

First finished section

Strip lights for under the plarform.

So far I have only used the power grab

The rebuilt creeper.

Good Morning Y'all.

Another day visiting the Marquis de Sade, D.D.S., this should finish things up for awhile. I hope.

This will be the first holiday that we won't be having the big get-to-gether here at the house in decades. With the BetterHalf being away I just wasn't in the spirit of things so I canceled the dinner.

Buckeye, Getwell soon. The more the merrier when it comes to antagonizing the Chief.

Later all.

Morning all. Slept late. No intrusions from animals, phones or Wifey. Now I am getting ready to go plant those "matter" plants. Then disk Grady's garden for him to get ready.

Going to a big buffet with retired Major of Sheriff's Dept. and now part time officer for our PD. Has a range at his house as he is just out of Town limits. Will start going there. No prep. Just take weapons. Has all setup. He is trying to find some turkeys. Says yotes have scattered his. Told him one was in my big oak tree in front yard in downtown R'ville yesterday. We are talking about shooting the yotes.

Prayers for the OLD Buckeye.

Prayers still going for John and his family.

Sunny and 71 degrees.  A/C is on.  Keeps humidity out.

Have a good one.

Evening all!

70's today. May rain on Easter Sunday.

Planning a family event here at the house. We all went to a big local park for for Easter afternoon for nearly 20 years, but there are too many people going there, parking and finding a spot for 20 people has become a major pain. So all agreed to move it. All bring food and I will grill some hot dogs for the kids. Looking forward to it.

Good evening all,

What a day!  Got a flat tire on the way to work, but got the donut put on at a service station just off the exit where it went flat.  10 minute patch at work took an hour, and some other stuff did not go well either.   Nice walk at noon.  Found a place to replace tire in afternoon and got that done after work.   Made progress on taking care of Indiana taxes.  21 inch mower is fixed.  Ordered tickets for Mid-Ohio.  Big news is that 2 time world driving champion Fernando Alonso is entered in Indy 500.  Did have a nice supper at Steak'n'Shake.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Pain one was gone so pain two had no one to talk to.  That was so sad.....LOL!  Nice weather for a walk.  Did nothing at home tonight but watch Izombie, which got its groove back.  One of the characters had a teenager's brain and it was like OMG all the time....LOL!   I hope everyone has a good day.
