I would agree. We can't keep them in stock here at the house because a certain little girl like to play doctor with her stuffed animals... now if we want fur all over the band-aid we're golden! Laugh

Morning guys, slept good last night. Heading out to get a replacement outdoor faucet, cat food, softener salt, bird food, and a new pair of bluejeans.

Cold, damp and cloudy, Rain and more gloom is the forecast. 42 now maybe hit 58 later.
No word on Mark's brother Jeff but I ain't going to bug him.   Jeff was exposed to some bad poison working for NALCO years ago so he has always been on lots of pills. Well the pills and boose got the best of his gut and liver and he was bleeding out and they could not get it to stop right away where he was but once they got him stable they air lifted him to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. Still don't know the outcome yet. The guy is only 57 years old and a nice guy. Sad. Tongue Tied

Mornin' Fellas

I've either been sick or insanely busy since York. Thanks for posting the pic RT!

Fife - it all has a way of working itself out. You'll end up where you are supposed to be.

Rich - See note to Fife. Wink

Roy - I know you are in Dallas, hope you survived the storms. Houston looks aweful.

Ordered some gift cards for Lowes from our rewards accounts. Will be working on the sunroom stoop and storm door either this weekend or next (or when it isn't raining whichever comes first). Also looking at a new ceiling fan for the screened porch. The one we installed when we finished it no longer rotates, light works, but no fan (need it when it gets hot and humid here).

Can't remember what else I was going to say. Sad

Prayers for those in need.

Aloha. Grey and cold again. Made the mistake of trying to clean the oven last night and stunk up the whole house. Next time, I'll do it by hand. That's a great photo of the Yorkies! Hang in there, Rich. Good luck with the showings, Fife. Glad you are almost fully healed, MikeC

Fife......yeah, that story sounds familiar....just found out we lost the house we were bidding on.  Didn't even get to counter offer....

Well, its officially time to panic.....a little.  Princess called and they have a job waiting in Princeton, like 15 miles from here.  We either blow the down and closing costs money and get them set up in an apartment....not liking that or boogie, find a place and over pay or find a foster home for Smurf our cat and move her stuff in storage and get everyone into Mom and Dad's house.....when it rains it pours....

So....we'll see.  Have to clear up a few things then get on with the day......

See ya in a few......

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 51 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Will be tidying up Fifedom all day for 2 (two) showings this afternoon.  We will have to take FifeMax to yatchett during this event, because he knows that the only reason people come to his house is to throw his frisbee to him...70-80 times...

On the WV future Fifedom, learned we will be running up against another bidder.  Wonderful...

Good Evening,

Surprised to hear about rain yesterday from V8 and Ray, didn't have any in these parts, just cool air and wind.  (Someone has the door open in AK).

To bad about your friends brother Kev.  My wife and her family is from Superior.  I've been there a couple of times, I always try to go during there two and 1/2 weeks of summer.  It IS cold up there.

Worked on the non-derailing switches today, took more time than I expected.  I was working on apair of cross-over switches.  Like you Ray I havn't installed them on my layout either.  Last night I was in my train room and had a derailment that the non-derail would have prevented.  But how many ways do you need to control a switch?  The Dr's layout has;

- Manual Button on Switch

- Toggle Switch on Control Panel

- CAB-2 Remote

- and now Non-Derail

Could be considered a bit much,

That is a good group photo.

Better call it a day, fell asleep twice  while doing this.

Later, Stay healthy and be safe!

-

Good evening all,

Good checkup on foot.  Almost totally healed.  Down to a large bandage with a guaze pad.  Will be good to go for outside work this weekend.  Grass is tall.  I worked on clearing out more unneeded paperwork.  Lots of rain this evening.  Back to work tomorrow.  Three more days this week and three days next week.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hey, Guys...!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

Spent the day on the bike and then the road runner.....took it to softball where we lost 14-11.  I made 4 plays in the "short" field(they rotated me between 2nd and short fielder), 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.  Came home to roast beef and mashed potatoes and gravy.

Progress on the job application front, seems like most employers want to pay much less for more work.  But, we'll see....many irons in the fire right now.

Much of the train purchases are on the back burner, for obvious reasons.  I may run over to my sister's house and look at my inventory.  With trains and Hot Wheels, I may...may have to look into thinning the herd, but that's for an emergency any ways, a long way off.

Good looking group at York.....soon, I hope, to make the trip, being so close.

Happy Birthday to Ray's Wife!!!

Off to see the wizard.....lol!!

Good evening Back home,Took a goof off trip up to Mark's cabin in the top of Wisconsin that got tripped up. Should of been gone till Friday, but things happen.

It was 12:30 PM yesterday when we were told Mark's brother may not make it through the night so he headed home to fly out to CA.  San Diego early AM this morning. So I staid back and closed up things and checked to see what other stuff needed to be done if any. Locked everything up and headed home at 9:20 AM got home at 3:00PM.

Tired. Still don't know if his brother made it through the night.

Bummer If he passes that will be three of his four brothers gone.
I will catch up later.

Happy Birthday to Rich and Ray's wife. Happy B-Day

Yesterday we had some unforcasted rain.  It was a hard downpour for about 15 minutes.  We'll take it!  I guess that was our rainey season.

Wife got addmited to her new digs yesterday at the long term care facility.  We are celebrating her birthday tonight.  It was actually yesterday.  She is 88 now.  The facility is giving 6 of us a birthday dinner in a private dinning room.  That was nice of them.

Don, I never did put in that non derailing feature on my layout.  Wish I had sometimes.

Have a good week.

Ray

Morning all, Not much going on here today. I need to cut the grass before it gets to hot or after it cools down this evening. ( need to put new blade on it first lol. But most of today ( unless I get sidetracked ) will be repairing some tenders. I have 2 2671's I need to put back together. Have parts coming on them today ( two new whistles ) will just have to solder everything back in. Rewiring the 6 wheel trucks pick-up is the hardest part for me.

Well guess it's time to get moving and have some breakfast.
You all have a good day. 69* at present going up to 85* today

Good evening all,

Very good day at work.  Pain two was gone and pain one was very helpful in getting everything caught up at work before I closed for the month.  Nice day weather wise.  Watched Jane the Virgin.   Good episode.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' boys.  Partly cloudy and 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Just got in from more home tours of WV.  Looks like we're coming down to deciding on the new Fifedom.  Caught a few small fish with my new Flueger reel and Ugly Stick.  Too much line on the spool though; led to too many unintended tangles.  Good to spend time with my folks up on the mountain.  Nice ride home.  Now waiting for Pizzadude.

Morning all. Last night turned out to be pretty good. On another forum a member placed a postwar 224 US NAVY b-unit shell for sale for $15 including shipping in good condition. So I bought that and I found at JUSTTRAINS the frame, the correct trucks and the piece in the middle that simulates a fuel tank. So now I have a second Navy B-Unit :)

Only plans for today is to sraighten this room up some more and get more stuff out to the garage for next garage sale come June.

Getting back into things after fighting (mostly) off a nasty virus thing that resulted in a double ear infection for the past couple of weeks.  Could barely hear for a number of days.  Finally feeling well enough this weekend to get some things done - some train-related (working on a 397 coal loader, wheel cleaning on some cars I bought off Da Bay, diagnosing some E-Unit problems), some outside (got Scott's Step 1 down on the lawn along with some 2,4-D for the weeds). Everything is really starting to come to life.

Here's hoping the Hawks can make it three in a row tonight and advance towards another Stanley Cup!

Wifey and I went to the lake house for the last time [we hope].  Got her last "things" she wanted.

Again, MTH is trash.  Switched out an 072 switch which was giving trouble [as a lot of them do eventually].  What a time.  The tab on one side was so much thicker than the space to slide under the rail.  Had to trim it down.  Both "control" rails were too long.  Had to use a drimel tool to gap them.  I noticed a 6" piece of Realtrax had the center rail rusting. ????  Never had Realtrax rust. ????

Off to bed.

Chief don't worry about me, our concerns and prayers need to be with Phish in Southern Ohio.  With the mass executions this last week, I would assume the churches are helping out the communities.  Phish lives in Scioto County but works in Pike County where the murders took place in a remote location.  It would not surprise me if he knew relatives of the deceased.

Good morning, sunny and will get into the 80s today. Good day to clean up all the sticks and limbs that have fallen around the house. The house is the only area I have not cut yet this year.

No real plans.

Shake&Bake. I have been pining over cutting that last leg of that Ash all winter. I did the other three legs last fall so they would not fall on the drive in the winter. Still have about 3 more to get that could fall on the house.

Hello all

Back at work for another week.

Busy week off last week. Put the new window regulator in the Datsun and fixed some of the wiring on Wed. Took apart and soaked the Holley carb off the Twin Coach bus on Thurs. Cleaned up the workspace at the trolley on Friday. Went to breakfast w/ the Corvair club on Sat where the Corvan made it's first official club event, then pulled the manifolds off a parts truck I found on Craiglist. BBQ on Sat night w/ a friend and then Sunday installed the manifolds on the Datsun. Monday morning put the headpipe on and took the truck to the muffler shop for the rest of the exhaust system, then Bill and I put one of the rebuilt rear bearing units in the 4dr Corvair. Tuesday we tried starting the '89 RTS bus and got close but no cookies. We have injector troubles I think which are costing us a couple of cylinders. That one will have to be towed to the new location. Then my buddy Ron and I went to the LHS to pick up a few things and then back to his house to fix the siderod problem on his G-scale 0-6-0. Whew...

Cleaning up the AF 290 I got from RT. Nice little loco there.

While reading thru some old Vintage Rails magazines Ron gave me, I ran across an add for Star railroad lanterns. The car inspector's lantern looks very interesting. Over the years I've been very under-whelmed by most flash lights. Besides many being unreliable the blasted things are all round so they inevitably roll under the car, in the dark, if you set them down. This lantern is adjustable w/ a handle and a stand and looks like the perfect thing for emergency car work. I found one on the bay for a decent price and will let you know how it works out.

Don - Chief just hooks up everything to the big outlet over the dryer, that gives him more power...:)

Kev, grat looking grapple or what you call it.  Best is it is on a Deere.

Talked to Shake and Bake.  He screwed up the guy's layout [that he is taking to the cleaners by working so slooooow].  Hooked up on anti-derailing feature on a switch.  Now he has to go back and do it to all switches.  More billable hours.  Worse than a lawyer.

Off to bed.  Off tomorrow to do a final at the lake house.

Someone kidnap Buckeye?

Sleep tight.
