Hello there,

Chances of getting to York are dimming. Got mom at the ER again.  She never seemed well after she got out of the hospital Tuesday.  Not a good week for me either. Bidding a large project and my help fell through. Spent a couple of long days at the office and 8 hours yesterday. Was there today when mrs called. Brought some stuff along. I hope to work on here.  Boss thinks it will be 3 million. I think more. Got a quote on generators Friday. Almost 1 million .

Kev...I've noticed there are day's the pot is dead. I'm guilty too . Read every day. Find it interesting what everyone is up to. Usually only add my 2 cents about once a week. More later .

Prayersfor those in need

DJSpank - As it was explained to me some time ago, if YORK was opened to the general public, the TCA would lose a certain percentage of membership, particular in the Eastern and surrounding divisions.  It gets down to a  matter of dollars and "sense".

Afternoon, Rain and cool. What a day, the gravel is all here and spread out. Started early to miss the rain had to get 3 loads and he did not show up till after 9:30 so we got two loads in then it started raining when he delivered the last load but I got it spread good enough for now. Later when it drys up some I will grade it some more then hit it with the roller. Then like Jim said it will just seem like we did nothing. We did 137.32 Tons this time around, came to $2,197.12 About half of the lane. The back half that we are on.

Went to town and fixed my beer to find it went down to $12.87 a 30 pack and that is with the tax. Miller High Life Lite.   Yes  AT least something has fallen in price. Gas is back to $2.00 Sad

Kind of quiet around here since the kids left yesterday morning.

RT are those ALCOs you got?

Chief, I am considering selling my Golden Boy to a friend and replacing it with the Big Boy 357 model. Yeah

Brent Jordan did better. I only changed him once in two days. It seems he likes going #1, gets to aim and shoot but when it comes to #2 he is hit and miss.

He told me he wants the Peg Perego John Deer tractor with Loader for his 3rd birthday.  Wink

Good Afternoon from sunny but cool (40’s) Southern Ohio,

I talked with my friends with the orchard after Mass and they got down to 23F, not much hope for the early bloomers; cherries, peaches and plums are probably gone.

Kev- Amazing how gravel just seems to disappear, especially when you start packing it.  Crusher run amazes me.

Going out to the garage

May God bless

Jim

Aloha. Postings here always wax and wane. It's another cold, grey, windy Winter day. At least there is hope of spring at the end of this week - we'll see. At least that meant I could spend a pleasant Saturday mostly reading rather than working outsdie. Praying for Granny Pat!

Kevin I read the Pot everyday, just don't post often. York is closing in fast and grannys still in the hospital. She and daughter want me to go anyway as it's been planned for months. I don't know what to do. I feel like i'm on a tilt-a-whirl.

S'posed to be sunny & 62 on Friday for YORK... ParadiseCoolYeah

The only thing hot around here are my O's.  Probably the best lineup since '96.

Howdy.  Cold out for April.  Was horrible winds today.  Like a hurricane.  One whole section of an apartment complex burned to the ground in Raleigh.  80 firemen fought.  NC Forest service had to fight the woods fires form the sparks.  Winds just made it impossible to stop.

I saw Granny [Mrs. SJ] is in hospital with infection.  SJ was last month.  Prayers.

Busy all week.  Did get to go to the farms Tuesday.  Was windy down there and cold.  First trip since Jan.  Got only one tiny tick.  Bite went "south".  Got to see Dr. yesterday afternoon.  Now on Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever/Lyme's meds again.

Off to bed.

Shalom Y'all !

Oops, better be careful as I wouldn't want to be accused of "cultural appropriation". Laugh

Long day yesterday at the museum. Last nite and today were veg-out time although I did get my morning walk in before the weather turned sour. Cloudy cool and drizzly makes for some really good vegetating. Zzz

Need to make a visit tomorrow to Wallyworld to check out some dining canopies. SWMBO has the "Relay For Life" next weekend and the canopy that is normally used my daughter brings. But they have scout activities the same weekend so it will be in use there. Alresdy have the RMT  "Cancer Cure Train" preped and ready to roll.

Took the Missle Launch Vehicle in Friday, figured there would be some kiddos come thru since it was the last day of spring break. Unfortunately the sound car decided to die, hoping it's only the speaker, 30 minutes after we opened. Bang Head Oh well, another piece of equipment moved to the repair track.

Don, I should be so lucky as to have that view, where we are the @##@ gophers eat everything, except weeds of course.

About time to call it a night.

Prayers for all our friends and family in need.

Oh yeah, check this out. It was sent to me this afternoon.

Good evening all,

Watched 2 soccer games on TV today.   Local Indy team tied their match 1-1.  Went to local historical society annual dinner.  Did not do much else.   I agree with you, Kev, on lack of activity here.   Not sure why people quit posting.   I post more out of habit anymore.   I just do not have much going on so I do not write much.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Getting in here is a PITA!!!!! The log in screan sucks,,,,

Some tractor time today,
Well just finished up about 1 hour ago spreading  60 ton of the gravel, that makes 80 ton so far. F#$@(*& can't even see it. (where does it go????) Tomorrow we will do the other 60 ton he has at his house. Yeah, Why gravel today,,,,he was tending to a family friend in the hospital with heart issues so he just got the material when he could and dropped it at his placed figuring on doing it when he could. His place is only about 1.5 miles from ours. I can see already 140 ton ain't going to cut it. Will need about 40 ton more to get it high enough for the water to run off and not down the drive. I can't say much I knew I cut it short 12 years ago so I just want to make it right and be don for awhile. Heck what I have has lasted 12 years, Price of living in the woods. . He is putting a semi load in the 10 wheeler for the short trip here. That old Mack knows it is there.

Thinking if I am the only one here posting,,,,,,,,,,,,,maybe I better think about this place. WTH???? Got plenty else to do.

Sure was better before the take over. Thanks to you know who you are.

Good Evening from cold (36F) Southern Ohio,

Thanks to everyone on the prayers and thoughts on my job front.  I’m looking forward to being back in the buildings I spent so much of my career in.

What a surprise this morning.  We woke up to about an inch of snow!  I’m glad the baseball game was canceled.  It has stayed cool all day and to drop into the 20’s tonight.  I feel sorry for the fruit growers impacted by this cold spell.  Cherries, plums, peaches and some apples are blooming at a friend’s orchard.

Brent - I remember your accident, I’ll be careful.

Bob- Sounds like a plan, but doesn’t hurt to start looking around for options.

Ray - Sounds like good news; I’ll keep the up!

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Two grand-kids 2 and 5 and the daughter 27 is a house full for us.
Funny how they get along better with no mom here. They will head out tomorrow morning. Katie and some-day-maybe got a house on the hook, just hope nothing spits out the hook before they close on May 16th.
Good news on the job front for both, Bob and Jim.
Ray good to know your wife is getting the care she needs.

Hello all

Fairly quiet day at work. We are in the clouds and have been closed up since yesterday. Most of the visiting astronomers left yesterday so it has quieted down a bit. Just helping the couple who are left get the system back in normal observing mode.

One of the good things about having visitng astronomers is we usually end up w/ any leftover food. My co-worker made a pretty good stew out of some beef that was left:)

Got the Minitrix pacific in before I came back up. Tested it briefly on the layout and it works. Will clean and lubricate it when I get some spare time this week. The Rapido couple on the tender was broken, but I wanted to convert it to a Micro_Trains one anyway.

JimS - good news on the job front. My boss convinced me to stick it out another year and see where this management change goes.

Mornin' Fellas

With the wind we are having don't think I could walk around York! I may end up in Lancaster! LOL!

Jim - We converted our deck into a sunroom and screened porch (that was the project where I cut my leg, and broke my arm/wrist). The sunroom is 14x16 with 14 windows, exterior door, and 2 skylights. We insulated the floor so we can be in there 4 seasons - if you are even considering it you should look into a Mr Slim or other auxillary heat/ac unit. They are VERY efficient (not what we have and we don't like what we have, but not putting more money into it at this point). The screened porch is a bit bigger and is where my grill is, so I can actually grill year-round if I want.

Have to get the snow thrower stored for the Spring/Summer/Fall. Hope we can get some decent weather soon. Need to lower the sunroom porch, install the storm door, and redo the doors on the shed and get it painted again... but can't do that when it wants to rain every other day and with 20+ mph winds. Could use a wind turbine right about now... could be running off wind power instead of grid power! LOL

Aloha. Back to winter here - - lots of snow squalls but nothing sticking. A good day for working indoors. Congrats on the new job, Jim

Don, that sounds like a nice project. I'll poke around and see if I have my Z-Stuff instructions.

Good Morning,

Been working on the layout past two days.  Will be glad to finish!  Yesterday spent the time setting up a Lionel 450 Signal Bridge.  Barely found room for it.  Connected it without the 053 Contactor, used a couple of Bridge Rectifiers, and Relays with Isolated track rails.  Seemsto be working well.  Have a few of the Z-Stuff Block signals to do, went to download instructions, but didn't find any maybe they operate off sensors, don't know.

Hope everything is going OK with Ray.

Congrats on the job Jim, that is fantastic.

Getting a little rain here, soft and gentle.  Here come the weeds!!

Take care all got to get to work!

Good Morning from Sunny Southern Ohio,

TGIF!!!!

Well I decided to take the supervisor job.  I really enjoyed that job when I had it in ‘04 and had worked it for about 10 years so it will sort of like coming home.  Besides it had a 24% higher salary.  Start date is in a couple of weeks because they require their own physical, background check, drug test etc. even though it was just completed with the other job offer.

I guess this gives me time to re-do the utility room as I’ve used up the excuses that I had other stuff to get done. Whistling

Have a beautiful day and may God bless

Jim

Good day at work.  Lousy weather shortened the noon walk.  Went to see a high school stage version of M*A*S*H.   It was good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
