Mid 40's and rain most of the day.
I noticed that I have crocuses starting to pop out of the ground. The Bradford Pear type of tree outside of the window at work also is budding - big ones.
Kev - I replied to your PM today.
All for now.
Finally got a track plan for my layout. 3 loops, plenty of space for operationg cars and the like, it oughta be good by the time I get through with it.
Good Morning from wet Southern Ohio
Temps are dropping but still in the low 50's. I went to grandson's basketball game after work, team lost by 9, individually he did pretty good, 14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists. We got home about 10pm and he was beat. Ordered some ECM pins off Amazon for a high idle modification I'm doing to the truck, tried using some pins I had but they would not hold in the plug properly.
Tinplate- What size footprint? What are you going to use for track?
Fife-You stay pretty busy in retirement don't you?
8ntruck-This weather has been crazy warm. Our Bradford pears are still holding onto leaves. They need trimmed back this year. Someone at church was saying he had dandilions (sp?) coming up.
10 days till Christmas!
May God bless, (and may we see His blessings!)
Jim

Sholom Y'all.
Back from walk and a cheese omelette, no salt, for breakfast. Boy was it cold this morning, when I left there was heavy frost on everything except the streets and sidewalks.
The new meds seem to be helping, still some shortness of breath but didn't seem as bad this morning. Time will tell.
Started on the Christmas layout in the garage, got plenty of time to finish it for the Christmas Eve unveiling. Reconfigured the upper level from a folded loop to a short main with a reverse loop on each end. See how this works out, if not happy with the results it can always be undone.
Time to get off the duff and get moving.
Later all.

Hope you used your Santa suit Buckeye. That is a lot of stops.
Good evening all,
An eventually good day at work. Went for a nice walk today. Just used my normal stride and a good pace. Legs tender, but just gritted my teeth and kept pushing on. Maybe you have to hit bottom (last Saturday) before you start climbing back. Even felt like doing some stuff when I got home. Got a side table down that had been up in the barn loft. Wife liked it in the train room. A little rough, but serviceable. No TV for a while since shows are on winter break. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Kev that someplace out in the middle of nowhere sounds like it was close to you .
Evening all been playing nurse today wife down and out but kinda enjoyed it felt good being able to do it for her.
Will talk to you all later
Got into the 50's today and the sun peeked out for a bit.
StergonPish - that tree at work that seems to be budding, didn't drop its leaves until two maybe three weeks ago. Weird.
Kev - I replied to your PM. Might not have been too helpful on the connector, but that web site will point you at something that you will be able to use - if you dig long enough.
Evening all
Buckeye- The bypass is moving a tremendous amount of dirt. To really take it in drive Lucasville-Minford road.
The mountains shall be made low and the valleys filled comes to mind. Amazing amount of earthwork going on
Good night and may God bless
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 43 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Having lunch with my old car partner today. Giving him something rail for his birthday.
The Jacksonville Senior Center layout was nice. Approx 30 x 12, with 2 trains running. These folks are really into modelling old school style. Lots of regional structures, Harbor Place, Fort McHenry, Four Corners, but the best was their recreation of the Naval Academy. For a touch of humor, they included the runaway army blimp. Even though there were no buttons to push, grandson was impressed.

That is nice Fife, Thanks for the link.
I got the PM 8N, thanks. I am on re-think on the project. Need another 3 position ALCO motor and frame first.
45 heading to 53 cloudy wet and gray.. Got the SS payment so got to do some Chrismas shopping.
Last week gas was $1.669 around here. Today it is $1.999 with no reason other than they can do it..
Gloomy and 40s today.
I put a Flyer #283 under tree this year. Something different that I never get to run. Two other engines will get run time while the track is down.

Afternoon FellasLast working day for me this week, then two next week, then done till the new year. First time ever for me to take off that amount of time at the end of the year - what happens when you have to burn it or lose it.Fife - glad the button arrive OK. The fella at the Post Office recognized what it was and was impressed that 'someone your age has one', wish I could have stayed longer to chat with him.Looks like Buckeye has been racking up the frequent driver miles this month... and I thought I drove alot! I've put over 24,000 miles on the Durango since February 1, 2015. Nice to be working from home so I won't be putting all those miles on it for the time being.

Good afternoon all from sunny and warm (62F) Southern Ohio. It was 30F and frosty this morning and now over 60F, not bad for mid December. Our youngest daughter is coming home for Christmas from LA. While she is at home I'll have her teach me how to post pictures with the MAC equipment we have now. When I was posting all the pictures a few years ago it was before the MAC. I still have the photobucket account so I could share again some of the old shots.
SJ- the 283 is one of my favorite AF Steamers. Looks great, and pulls great. Love to see a picture!
Later - May God bless
Phish I also have a Postwar Royal Blue and a 307 that a Flyer friend added smoke and chuff for me. We have already decided that Super Smoke is too scenty so it's gonna be Nada.
Aloha. Fife, is the yachet still in the water? (I'm still waiting for Buckeye to drop off his gift). I was able to ferret out and visit two spectacular local holiday layouts yesterday and today. I've posted them under the Christmas Layout thread. I thought of Jim and SJ as today's layout included some classic AF trains in beautiful shape. Apparently the Midwest TCA has put this layout on for 42 years - allegedly this is the last year too. I'm glad I got to see it.

Kevin.....Rental company gave me a 2015 Dodge Challenger for my Santa trip. Very nice ride, tight and suprisingly great gas mileage.
Phish.....Our company is doing the geotech for the contractor. If you see a white Ford truck or SUV with S&ME on the side, that is ours.
Doug... When I delivered your gift, I gave the keys to your new car, photo below, to your wife since you were not at home. She stood there in complete shock.
That's some Camaro, Buckeye.
Sunny and 50's today. Spent a chunk of lunch hour paying property taxex. I have given unto Cesar what Ceaser is due today.
Kev - I replied. Remember, you can use power trucks from 2 position e-units too. They have two field windindings. For operation with a 3 pisition e-unit, you just use one of the windings.
I stopped in Menards on the way home tonight. They had some of the O gage track. Looks like the rails aer galvinized instead of zinc plated.
Very long day at work. May be coming down with a cold. Wife and I watched "Frozen" again. Great movie. Great songs. Weather wet today, turning colder tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good for you Buckeye rentals are a good thing. And a 2015 Dodge Challenger sounds like fun to me. But a Reindeer pulled flying sleigh would be even better. 8N I did not know you could do that with the two position motors. That makes it better because I have a 202 motor and frame with a 8020 shell I could use. I did win a A-A 205 ALCO set today on Choochoo that is three position. First time I have bid there. I saw the O gauge track to this week and I bet your right. ( it looked funny ) Wish that Mark the Menard’s train guy would find us here. Would be a good question to answer. If I used O gauge track I would want to know but I use O27 track so I am just SOL on new stuff.
Have a good night.

cnw1995 - First week of November. Even though it's in a iron shipping cradle, I still need to get sails off to avoid tip-over from high winter winds on bay.
Morning all. Think I caught my wifes Flu/very bad cold and the beginning is starting up on me. Oh boy. Just what I wanted.
Nothing planned for today think I'll take my drugs and go back to bed and see if I feel better in a bit ( bet I won't lol )

RT you sly dog. Better let me know what your bidding on over there so we are not killing the deals. If you would of just bid $65.01 you would of got it. Yeah, the 229 set was nice and you can't go wrong with the Williams A-B-A sets in any road name. JMHO.
Winter is back,,,,,,,,,,,30 now with a high of 35 today.
Kevin when I saw that last night I laughed like no tomorrow it tickled me. Glad you got it really. I been getting enough. I seriously need to put the breaks on.
Morning all hows it going think I caught my wifes flu/cold. it hasn't hit full blown yet but it's sure is trying so I'm probably going to be out of it for a couple of days it put her completely bed ridden for two days basically. So if it gets ahold of me like it did her I'm in for it.
Kevin will be sending you an email in a bit your going to be shocked I think.
Good morning from overcast Southern Ohio
May see more rain and dropping temps.
SJ- Gotta love the 350 & the Alantic, great locos. Did they add the smoke to the 350 also? I took a 282 frame and put the 350 shell on it. I drilled out the smoke opening but it was ever so slightly offset, but the smoke still came out.
Buckeye- I'll keep an eye out for the S&ME trucks. If you get down this way and have time, feel free to swing by andwe'll set another plate for supper.
RT-Hope the bug bypasses you.
Later, May God bless
