Good morning all,
Got my copy of the TCA Quarterly yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find an article and pictures featuring a friend of mine's layout in Sacramento. His name is Dave Ashman USAF retired pilot.
Dave was a member of a loose knit club called the Thursday night group that met at my layout once a week for many years and before that at the home and layout of our mutual friend, Ed Harrigan, now deceased. Dave hed a beautiful layout in Sacramento but moved to Florida where he is building another layout. Sadly, the nice layout in the magazine was torn down shortly after it was photographed when Dave was moving to Florida. If the new one is half as good as the old, it will be great.
If any of you get the TCA Quarterly, take a look.

Morning all!
Cloudy today and maybe some sprinkles. Warming to 50/60's next few days.
Ready for Christmas. Last gifts ordered on line arriving Mon/Tues. Never set foot in a store for Christmas shopping this year.
Thought C'Boys might pull it off last night but no dice. Young Q'back they replaced Cassel with looks pretty good. Likely end of Cassels career. Watching Giants/Carolina to see if Carolina stays undefeated.
JT - the entities were Apple and my elec eng'g professional society. The apparent issue is Chase replaced a non-chip card that had yet to expire with a chip card (and added one year to expiry date). Chase cancelled the non-chip card Dec 1st. So even though the card num did not change it was like getting a completely new card. Simply updating the expiry date on-line had no effect. Thus the card started getting rejected. So they should have specifically told me to delete the card at autopay vendors and reenter it (they did not - I rechecked the notice). If they had changed the number this would have been obvious.
SJ - where do you guys stay at for York?
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Roy we stay at Four Points, up the hill behind Round the Clock. It's already getting full for TCA York week.

Good evening from Southern Ohio.
It got down to 22F last night, but warmed up to the low 50's. Actually pretty nice day. Several families stayed after Mass and we decorated the church for Christmas. I was especially glad the rain held off putting up the outside Nativity.
Youngest daughter is coming in Monday evening from LA. She creates a whirlwind!
We all sat and watched Elf too last night.
Goodnight and may God bless
Jim
Good night all,
Did not sleep at all Saturday night. Missed Mass. Did nothing today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good Evening
Sun has been out all day today. It is now 41 out there...and our diner had its BBQ going for RIBZZZZ!!!!!!!. So I indulged in some.
We just got home from there to a bunch of phone messages...all from relatives coming up for Xmas... We are doing pot-luck this year.
MikeC.: Hope you get some sleep tonight.
Have a good evening!!

Evenin' All.
Been a real busy three days, Gramps Daycare while everybody was doing their Christmas shopping. Had to skip the museum on Friday so I will be there tomorrow since the director has it open both this Monday and the next. Get to run my MTH Christmas ES44 one more time before settling it in for a long winter's nap. It got a lot of smiles during the Christmas on the Prodo run.
The garage layout is about 2/3 done, the hardest part is done now it's just the things to set the mood for Christmas eve.
Gettin' tired, all the letters are starting to look the same.
Nite all.

Time to wake up gang!
it is 60 here. Shirt sleeve day today.
Mornin' FellasWell this cold is getting more and more annoying with each passing day. Have had a stuffy head for almost a week which really wore me out Thursday and Friday last week. Over the weekend I felt pretty good, then last night just before midnight I woke up and ran to the bathroom and emptied my innards from both ends. Feeling better today, but just drained... lolGot the trains setup under the tree on Friday and we've had daily 'tests' to make sure they still work. I tell you Christina will find any excuse to get her way. LOL. Had a fire going in the insert since Friday as well, and the furnace hasn't kicked on at all. Saturday was cookie baking day... till the range turned itself off. Checked the breaker, not tripped, reset it anyway, no go. Tried again, no go. Off to buy a new range. Got home and pulled the old (only 5 years old) range out and the found the cord had melted where it connected to the range, and melted the wires connected to that pole on the range. Called BiL and he said everything did their job, the connection was probably loose and caused a higher amperage draw. New range is in and no issues so far. Have to load the old range into the Durango and get it to the dump before Christmas... fun times.

Morning all from wet Southern Ohio
youngest woke us up sick, had the stuffy nose too. We'll try and keep her quiet today.
Lion88roar could the parts damaged be replaced? You might want to put it on Craigslist and sell as is . It would be a win-win for someone needing a stove and you don't have to haul it away
take care and may God bless
47 with rain, heading to 55 with rain,

Mornin' boys. Mostly cloudy and 44 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Just got in from watching grandson in his first Christmas concert. Very cute, but he was a bit shy at first. He went with other grandparents, so now I can go to the mall and start my Christmas shopping.
Morning all got up about 9:30 went to porch to put a package for pick-up and had packages ( our mail person normally runs around 11:30 - 12:30 ) so hoping it was just a person delivering packages as they do that sometimes too. Today it's suppose to get to 62 it's 50 right now. Little by little I'm taking empty boxes to the road each week for the trash men don't want to take to much at a time anyway Donna keeps adding to it as she finally emptying boxes from the move again But it is going down still. Trying to make room so I can do a layout out there with all this O27 track I have. Anyway not much else is going on here need to get moving and make some breakfast.

Good Morning
We are getting rained on right now....high going to 46 out later.
We got most of the Xmas shopping done, now it is just the last minute stuff that we got to get.
Off to get some stuff done today...have a good'un!!
Sturg - the damaged parts could probably be replaced, the problem is keeping it here till someone came to haul it away isn't going to work since we are hosting 20+ people at our place for Christmas... LOL... If memory serves me correct, the dump will take the unit and fix it if it can be fixed and donate it to a needy family. This is a Jen-Air dual oven electric range so it is a pretty good unit... no dings, dents, scratches, gouges, or anything.
Morning all,
V8, good luck on your Oregon trip. My son takes that commuter train too when he visits a friend in Oregon.
Went to a Christmas party/open house last night. Lots of food and conversation but wife has a short attention span on account of her dementia so we only stayed a little over an hour. Glad we went though.
Local Gold Line light rail line recently completed has started running more test trains now day and night. In the beginning it was only at night. Scheduled opening is in March. I will give it a test ride then from where we live to downtown L.A.
Phish, hope your little one gets over the sniffles soon.
More showers predicted this week but we need it.
No idea how the TCA Christmas party went. I couldn't go.
Our son is gone again until Christmas eve. He is staying closer to his work this week and his fiancee.
Have a good week.
44 with lite rain. No white Christmas in SE lower Michigan this year. That's fine with me.

Aloha. Warm and rainy here too. I'm happy for it.We just replaced our stove and dishwasher - the stove was perfectly good if old but didn't 'match' - I enjoyed finding it a good home with someone who really needed one.
Working in the basement today (replacing light fixtures).

The Missouri and Pacific ALCO FA #205 set from ChooChoo auctions came today. I am very happy, a little cleaning and a lube job and they run like new. How could you go wrong for $76.50 including shipping?

RT, some small flaws in the paint Not to bad, just blemishes from being around for 57 or 58 years. They do run good.
Don't most trains
tinplatacis Don't most trains
Yeah The dummy had a re-paint on the frame and the power unit had a crack in the front skirt also some small flaws in the paint on the dummy. Not to bad, just blemishes from being around for 57 or 58 years. I glued the skirt and will get windshields and front guards for them and it should be good. Nice runners and a good puller. They were correct to claim it as a VG #6. The best part is I got this to cannibalize but it is to nice for that.
Kevin just watch a set identical to what I got ( the M&STL ) sell for double what I paid, on the bay I'll keep mine for now I'm liking them to much.
Not much else going on here today fell asleep watching tv so now just getting supper made.
Good evening all,
Survived today. Work was good. Feeling some better. I think legs are responding to the rest as well. A short walk went well today. Did nothing tonight. Tomorrow will be a busy day, but hopefully Wednesday will be tranquil. Kev, that is one nice engine set you have there. One would think that with all the research on post war Lionel that some one would discover why Lionel rarely made matching cabooses for their engines. As much as people malign MPC, at least they got that right..... I hope everyone has a good day.
Kind of wet and dull in our forecast for today..going up to 50 though.
Got some runnin' 'roun' doin' stuff to do today as a nice long "honey do" list showed up last night.
Hello all
Another fairly quiet night on the mountain. We have some weather coming in over the next few days. We may even have snow in the foothills in town the day after Christmas.
Kev - those are some nice engines! Nothing like an Alco:)
88 - glad the stove situation wasn't worse. A friend and I once bought and installed a new stove in the morning so I could bake some pies later that day
Fixing up an old wooden train my father made for me when I was like 4 or 5. Going to give it to a friend for the child of her friend. Repainted it in some leftover Polly S paints I had. Just need to paint and attach the new wheels and hopefully I will have it ready for Christmas. It's basically made out of a chunk of 2X4", but should be fun for a young kid.

Christmas countdown in process...
Sun came out yesterday so temps near 70. Supposed to hit 70 today
Welcome to first day of winter!
O-27 Alcos are one of my favorites. Lionel SF A-A I got as a kid, Williams SF & UP A-A (great runners), and the LCCA Lionel CB&Q set from a few years ago.
Good mornin' all.
So much for getting some things done in the yard, when you want it to rain it don't so today is the flip side of that statement.
Yesterday was a big snafu at the museum. Ended up not opening at all, first thing that came to mind was a quote from Cool Hand Luke, "Whwt we have here is a failure to communicate". Oh welll got the track and everything prepped yesterday so they won't have to do it today.
Okay, here's a tuffy for y'all, find the one Panda amongst the snowmen:
