Morning all hope this day finds all in good health and spirits. Need to finish getting dress and craw up on roof and get the part off the satellite dish that they want. so I can send it back to them and they can put it where the sun don't shine. Other than that need to go into Johnston to make sure I know where I'm going tomorrow to take our cat to become a Bruce Jenner.
Other than that no big plans for today. Do need to rearrange this room some more so I can get around in it. Sooner or later I need to find my curve track and sort out my gargraves O-72 and O-63 and put it up for sale as I do not have anywhere I can use it for a long long time if ever. ( not unless I can convince the wife to sell a couple of hutches the dining room table and let me have the dining room for my trains ( you know what will freeze over like 100 times first) Well time to get moving talk to you all later have a good day all, talk to you all

Got a new book for my birthday called "All Aboard" The Wonderful World of Disney Trains. by Dana Amendola. I wondered what happened to Ward Kimball's Grizzly Flats railroad station that was given away after his death. Anyway there is a picture of it in this book and it is on what is called The Justi Creek Railway, a private property somewhere in California or Oregon. It is owned by John Lasseter who also was an animator for Disney in the modern era. I'm glad that the depot has found a good home and would like to see more pictures of it and I would also like to pin point the location. The book is kind of vague about it. The train that operates on the line is a narrow gauge steam engine once owned by Ollie Johnston, one of Disney's famous nine old men animators.

Been a bunch of nice sunny fall days here - my favorite time of year. Too bad I've used up my vacationdays for this year.
Sir James - neat video of the Detroit 3 Railers meeting. Do you know anything about the heavy duty flat cars that were running behing the Schnauble (sp?) car? Looked like they had three trucks on each end. There was one of these on a siding in town recently. It picked up some sort of gas turbine generator machinery. The serial number ended in an 'X', so I guess that means it is owned by somebody other than a railraod?
My Coyote and Roadrunner ambush shack got here yesterday. Neat piece. Going to be fun taking to shows.
While I was flattening out the newspaper that was used for packing, I noticed an article about the SS United States. Seems that the preservation group who owns it is running out of money to support it. The plans that they have for developing it are not progressing as quickly as they thought. They are now seriously considering selling it for scrap.

Had a great time at the State Fair. Will take a couple of weeks of dieting to shed those calories. Chicken fried bacon sounded interesting but I cannot recommend it now that I had a couple of pieces. Will stick to corn dogs and funnel cakes.
High temps (upper 90's) here supposed to end tomorrow.
Winter forecast says it will be abnormally warm up in northern US (Dakotas, etc) and much colder here. Now that does not make any sense.
Banks - sorry. At this time cannot make York this fall. And I am sure that for first time in 5 or so years the weather will be beautiful.

Hey all TGIF for you that are working. Did a lot of straightening up last night in my train/office. I can now get around but boy do I have a pile of for sale items got more to list thou. More Lionel and a Lil Critter I forgot about I have new in box UP G scale. That will be the last of my G the rest are Bachmann stuff. Nothing at moment planned for today but other 1/2 isn't up yet either :lolol: Hope all have a good day talk to you all later.

The cars behind my DT&I belonged to Clem our host, and the other trains were member cars. So I apolgize but don't know where the cars were from. Some of the members bring several boxes of trains to run, I am lazy an engine and caboose is enough for me as every host has plenty of rolling stock.

Long day at work. Seems the more you do for people, the more they b----. Ugh. Glad I have a couple of days extra next week off for medical stuff. Even getting a blood draw is better than dealing with the vampires at work. Weather is cool but sunny. I hope everyone has a good day.

Rainy and cool in the Ol' Pueblo tonight. First time I really needed the defrost since we finished getting it hooked up on the 4dr. It works! The car also got a new battery this morning.
Went down to the trolley barn and talked to the metal guys about the actuators for the sanders. They had some good ideas about how to hook it up.
Also helped the guy working on the brakes troubleshoot the system. Learned about air brake systems and triple valves. We've been having problems testing the system so we took out the triple valve and body. First time the valve body has been off the car since who knows when in Lisbon, Portugal. We will disassemble, clean, and bench test it tomorrow.
Then went to my friends to get the N layout ready to move. Stripped off the backdrop and took apart the support frame. It will sit to a large extent on the edge of my workbench and then I'll make few legs for the other corners. Big move will be tomorrow afternoon, provided the weather cooperates.
Spent the evening taking apart the living room getting ready for the layout. Had a to move a bookshelf so I got to dust everything on it. 4 shelves of tube radio gear, 2 of O gauge, and 1 of N. Most of the N will be able to live permanently on the layout and there is more O to surplus so I'll end up w/ some more shelf space in the end.
Time to find a pillow

Got to service the house HVAC and humidifier today and go to Krogers. Calling for the same cold tonight but then warming on Sunday.
Had a fire going last night. Cat has moved indoors.
Roy, Texas Rash,,,, I went to the Dr yesterday to find out WTH was up with this rash I have had since we got back. The Dr told me it is a bad case of "North Texas Allergy". No, seriously. I got into some poison ivy or oak. Who knows how I got it??? Maybe when I was cutting down the weed field that was on his land??? So I am on PredniSONE a steroid for three weeks till it clears up.
First I have ever had it.

Heard back from Don here's what he had to say "I'm doing well, been extremely busy. Working like 3 jobs, I will post hopefully this evening a couple of pictures and let everyone know what I'm up too. Bottom line, everything is good here, no local mud, just hot and humid." So we should hear from him soon thanks for asking about him I don't get in here a lot and when I do I'm usually just skimming across the post.
I know that Don has been busy lately. I saw a friend of his at a TTOS meet lately. I miss his input on the forum but understand he's busy.
Weather is finally cooling down to the eighties for a few days. Need to work on the swimming pool today. It's beginning to look like a swamp. Son will help. Article in the L.A.Times today talks about a lot of people demolishing pools in lieu of the drought. Mine is just a vinyl lined type in ground pool so all I would have to do would be to fill in the hole with dirt. Probably expensive even for that.
Still trying to get a handle on my medicare coverage for a potential expensive drug I may need after January 1st. Bottom line is that although a lot of cost would be out of pocket, it's beginning to look like I could handle it if I have to. Talked to a friend of mine's son yesterday who has the same ailment as me and is doing great on the new drug Humira. However, he is a lot younger and not on medicare. He has a good healthcare policy for which he pays about $500 per month and it covers most of the drug cost. He says his quality of life has improved 100%. That's amazing. I'd settle for just part of that.
My son is taking my wife for a walk this morning. She and I both need the excercise. I ran my trains for about half an hour yesterday and it was the best therapy I've had in months. Looking forward to more train time as the weather cools.
Got to see grandson lead his team to a 3-0 win today. He did not score, but played defense so well he kept the ball in the other half of the field. Weather is very cool. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Evening/Morning ! (Been a long time, sorry)
Everything has been going very well. Since I was released to go back to work, I have been working at Knott's Berry Farm. But with the restrictions the Dr has on me my activities have been somewhat limited. Then a couple of opportunities have come up building train layouts. So I've been working on two different ones and will probably start another one next week. (Two more jobs are waiting in the wings.) My primary task is doing wiring, and track design.
This layout belongs to a Dr.. He has been anticipating and planning it for over 30 years! His SIL has done all the benchwork, and the Dr did the track plan.
I just finished building the Control Panel for the layout. It has 3 main rails, 18 sidings and 31 switches. All TMC/Legacy only, two ZW transformers the newest one, and one of the ZW-C (4 bricks). AND EXTREMELY CRAMPED SPACE!
I will be wiring all the main lines, switches, sidings, accessories, etc.. Currently, I'm only available to work on it two days a week.
Will do another post on the other job. (Don't want the software to crash.)

The second layout is being built by a friend of mine who owns "Lloyd's Layouts". I help him when I can, again primarily on the wiring. The layout pictured below is being delivered today. We just finished it last night.
This layout has 3 main lines, 1 bypass, and 1 siding. Powered by a post war ZW, (I have installed TVS's & Ckt Brkrs.) Two of the tracks are dedicated to conventional 1 track to TMCC/Legacy. (Trying to convince owner letting me make all 3 tracks Command Control. The layout is really good looking! Especially the waterfall, stream, and pond.
All the portals, and guard rails are hand made
The upper elevation has a double backed helix design, enabling 3 trains running simultaneously.
Behind the support wall is a bypass for the second mainline.
The above image is the stream above the waterfall, the water looks so realistic you would be concerned of getting wet.
The entire layout is built in 3 seperate modules, intended to be relocated as required. The customer is older and very certain of his desires, esp regarding the txformers and track type usage. The outside track has no switches and is intended to run a JLC Legacy Big Boy, only. But, he is the boss.

Yesterday was a football afternoon/evening. Some of the family were happy some were not. Today I will fall asleep watching the Lions. With their 0/5 record falling asleep won't take long.

Just waking up so streching my brain at the moment lol. No plans for today Got some trains in yesterday that where a deal what started it all was they had all kinds of ground material and trees and bushes for like give away prices and then there where 2 train sets there that where going cheap so 5 auctions later ( that I didn't need lol) 2 train sets 3 ground material (which is all I really needed) any way now I have more trains to see what I want to deal with most where in real good shape so may just flip them as really don't have the room but who knows.

Don, very happy to see you back. Have enjoyed your posts and missed them for the last month or so. I think it would be pretty nice to work on someone elses layout as long as there was no serious pressure to get the job done.
