Good evening all,

US gets a win over China in World Cup 1-0, faces Germany next in medal round.   Germany was outplayed by France but got a very questionable PK in regulation and won on PKs after overtime went scoreless.   Hmmmm.   Mowed the yard before rain set in.   Sato starts 9th for tomorrow's Indy car race.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening all,

A nice day.  Went to a wedding for my cousin's daughter.   Mass was nice.  Reception had lots of good food and a nice place for kids to play.   Stayed for a few dances, but left at a good time.   Graham Rahal won the Indycar race.   Sato crashed out with 5 laps to go.   Hawkesworth was 10th.  Will spray weeds behind barn tomorrow and that will be it.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Clearing and 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Whoa that was a lot of rain.  Had to trench away from the house due to ponding.  Little one was grumpy from having tubes placed in his ears, so Wifey and I went to oldest Princess' place to give her a couple hours break.  Will watch road course race later.

Morning.  Sunny, cooler and less humidity.  Storms rolled through yesterday and last night.  Tornados too.  We got only a tenth of an inch of rain.  OK with me.  Looked like VA and Maryland got hit pretty good with storms.

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Good morning all,

We've been trapped in our house for about three days now while the painters are doing the outside.  I can't leave and have no one to baby sit the  house.  They cut a telephone wire somehow yesteday and knocked out all our phones.  Verizon came this morning and fixed it.  Said I would be billed at $180 per hour for wire repairs but would only charge me the minimum.  90 to $134.  I will deduct from paint bill.  Painting should be done by tomorrow we hope.

Hot and humid today.  Checked out garage this morning.  Looks like some dust or dirt got blown through the cracks during painting prep.  I have a lot of cleaning to do on the layout.

later,

Ray

Good evening all,

Sprayed weeds behind pole barn today with a vinegar mix.  Works pretty well as weeds dying already.   Will have to hit the spots I missed this time around when weather permits.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning

Sunny out right now but gonna get dull by late afternoon with more rain be falling on our heads. Whistling

We took one right on the nose this weekend. 3.5" of rain and more to come, yay...not.

Had a right nasty bunch of stuff to do this past few days...my health took a dump on me again...so back to somewhat near normal now...whatever normal is. Whistling

Anyhow, got some banking to do as well as basic survival food buying to do. Then off to the LHS for some more goodies...need a few things like...ernn...wheelsets and couplers....sigh.

Any argument carried far enough will end up in Semantics--Hartz's law of rhetoric Emerald. Leemer and Southern The route of the Sceptre Express Barry

I just started my blog site...more stuff to come...

Good morning all,

Starting on day four today of the house painting.  Still hot and humid here.

Noticed they installed some video cameras at church now for broadcasting services to shut ins.  Only available on you tube though so far.  Said farewell to our priest of the last two years yesterday.  He has a new assignment and we are suppose to get a permanent pastor starting next week.  We had food and fellowship for the outgoing pastor after all masses yesterday.  He had been acting as an administrator for the last two years until we could get a permanent pastor.

Can't wait to start cleaning up my layout after all this paint business and preparation.  There seems to be some dust blown in through some cracks.  Found a line of coal  hoppers with a layer of dirt/dust on top of all the coal loads yesterday.  Whole layout needs vacumning.  Gets so hot in there in summer can only go out there early in the morning.

later,

Ray

Good evening all,

More rain.  Quiet day at work.  Will have to redo spots behind barn that I missed or did not get enough weed killer on.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' All.

First follow up at cardiology went great today, ICD & associated parts passed all their tests plus the incision is healing nicely. Tonight I got to take my first shower since last thursday and it was great. Still can't drive for at least two weeks and no lifting more than 5# for a month. Sigh

Later all

No train news. Weather is the thing....Wet. The end of June and our A/C has yet to be on for a full 24 hour period. A few laps now and then to keep the tracks clean. S.J.

Good evening all,

A good way to end this thread with a USA! USA! USA!   A great win by the US tonight over Germany.   Will play winner of England and Japan on Sunday for the title.  US is definitely saving best for last as they were both good and lucky tonight.  A missed PK by Germany and a US PK on a questionable call changed the tempo of the game in the span of 5 minutes tonight.   Busy day at work and some progress finally on the house.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Helllpp!  The song American Patrol has been stuck in my head for about 10 days!  Good thing that it is one of my favorites.

I pulled the trigger on one of the Menard's NYC boxcars last night.  I'll send in a report when it gets here in a few days.

We had a dry weekend - the first since St Patrick's day, per the Kansas City weather man.

All for now.
