Good evening all,
Today created a vacuum. I hope everyone else has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Sounds like a good job for you Frank. To follow the cow around. And a game like that?? Olny in N.C.
They just reported that we have the highest tree pollen count ever recorded today. No kidding! Man it is bad!
I saw where they have now put restrictions on water use in California and have told people to put in desert lawns. Some places like Beverly Hills has to reduce by 32% I think is what they said. So bet you guys are glad to get some rain.

Good Afternoon Guys!
84 and Sunny here in Central NJ.
It has been a while since I had posted. I had more time BEFORE I RETIRED! Between Babysitting the Granddaughter and taking care of Mom it has been tough. We almost lost Mom a month ago. She had a prolapse of her rectum, virgina, and bladder, add the big hernia that she has, plus she decided not to drink because she did not want to have an accident. Without going into too much detail, all of her organs were shutting down, an incompetent doctor with a medling my sister in law who ment well, I got her to the ER just in time. They had to postpone her operation until she gets stronger, so she has been in rehab center doing good and will be discharged next week. then she needs to be cleared by her primary doctor, cardiologist and surgeon. I have the primary appointment for next Friday. That is the reason why I missed York. We will be there in October!
Fife: Good luck with the countdown! Johnsson is doing good. Thought about you during the riots.
Back to the rehab for a care meeting.
John
Good morning all,
Don, glad you're on the downhill side of your procedure. Re the tornados in Oklahoma, a friend of mine was going through there on the way to Milwaukee for his mother's memorial service. Hope he is OK. Friend Larry is on a driving trip through the midwest too.
We got some good rain during the night. Really pounded on the roof about 3:00AM. Lawn will love it. Possibly more showers today.
The only thing I ever shipped home from York at my expense was a Lionel large power station. I think it cost about $50 shipping back then. I had a dealer do me a favor and ship some stuff to me too but he did it no charge. Can't beat that. I used to carry trunks and extra suitcases for trains but wouldn't now even it I could go. We used the trunks mainly for taking stuff to sell. Made some good bucks back then with standard gauge and prewar O gauge. The charge for a trunk was cheap then compared to now. You had to use cheap trunks because the airline handling would destroy them after a couple of trips and you had to buy more for next time.

Morning. Sunny and real warm. Storms on the coast but nothing here. Got a luncheon and then help Wifey haul plants for garden club's plant sale tomorrow.
Tomorrow I go to the HS and judge the Cow Patty Bingo. I follow the cow around the football field and watch for her first deposit. Then tell which square she deposits on. Winner $500. Ticket sales goes to boosters club.
Have a good one.

Morning,
Kev & Doug, listening to youse guys discuss the weather and conditions there sure reminds me of home. Guess where you grow up at never really leaves you. Kay's family who just left here was calling with progress reports, and described the area as they went up Route 2 thru Oregan, Dixon etc.. They were saying how they enjoyed the drive along the Rock River. Many memories! Last time I remember seeing VE Day, VJ Day, or even Armistice Day celebrated was when I was in Illinios.
Looks like we got about a 1/2" of rain over nite, the lawn will really appreciate that! Ray and Dennis may have gotten more, Doug may not have gotten as much. Air and everything is really clear out!
Got a call yesterday regarding my Physical Therapy Consultation appointment, they moved it up a week! So will probably start 2x a week next week. Have some exercise equipment upstairs, hopefully will be able to start that again on odd days. Life is good!
My buddy Bob and his wife drove to York this year, they were really concerned about tornadoes. Dont know where they are but talked with him after York and they were in Baltimore, wanted to see the B&O museum but couldnt due to the riots. Think they were going to go around DC and New England a bit. Not sure but they may never return, they were so concerned about the tornadeos that they may be east of Ohio somewhere and afraid to come across the midwest. He had bought a couple of bridges at York and sent them to me, haven't opened them, but they are huge! Told me he got a good deal $60 for one and $70 for the other. But, then $120 to ship them. Been there done that!!
My first trip to York I had bought so much, I remember setting in John Fullerton's living room trying to pack everything, he and his wife might have thougt I was having Christmas at there house like a kid. (I was) Anyway, I ended up paying over a $100 in excess freight on the airlines. Of course I had purchased some engines and THEN 8 die-cast coal cars, which didn't help.
Need to get going and use the leg stimulator (daily rqmt), then off to therapy, then work on the garage re-organization project. Hope all have a great day!
(Doug, when are those "Cruising Main" nights?) May plan a trip down and bring the wife, I think she might enjoy it.
Don
67 sunny heading to 83 and rain again tonight.Same for Doug. Got all but one swamp hole cut yesterday before last nights rain.
A tad of rain overnight. Mr. George somehow managed to get locked in Sandra's garage over night. He weren't too happy about it.
Bad here with the pollen. Nose spray and eye drops will have to do.
The forest is in full bloom and I almost can't see Jim's shed back there already.
No other plans.
Victory in Europe Day!!!
Aloha. Thanks for the good weather, Kev. 83 yesterday and similar today - then the crash. SJ, glad no-one was really hurt in that incident. Off to grocery-shop, then work. Draftees at North Western station in Chicagon on May 8, 1945Happy VE Day!

Busy day at work. Unusual evening at home. Cousin's daughter plays HS tennis, always JV. Been telling myself need to go see her play. Went tonight. Her first match at varsity. No pressure there. Oh, team needs win to win conference. Again no pressure. She wins first set 6-0. Midway thru second set find out team has won conference. She is down 5-4 and comes storming back to win set and match 7-5!!! Ok, still not a soccer game, but entertaining at least. I hope everyone has a good day.
9 days... One of the bosses took me out to lunch yesterday. A lot of guys, old and not so old, wish they were me right now. Haven't learned Country Roads, but only because I haven't found a key I like. Denver's pitch too high for me. And I 'm not making this up, his greatest hits is what's in my truck's cd player this week. Still trying to hurdle the oldest princess's wedding.
Have you chosen the music for the "Father-Daughter Dance", this is what I picked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPN4gXBL1JA
Don, I'll spring for dinner the next time you make it down for "Crusin' Grand", mexican food again. If that old geezer from N.C. is visiting again and comes with you maybe we'll introduce him to In-N-Out Burger. There is a new place nearby that I haven't tried yet, Slater's 50/50, the burgers are half beef and half bacon.
Later all, museum tomorrow.

Good evening,
Whew made it! Glad that's over, seems the process is a lot easier than it use to be. Drinking all the liquid the night before is uncomfortable but not as bad as it used to be with all the self inflicted armament you had to use. The Dr provided a full tour through the process, even the anathesia wasn't as bad. I had it done at the VA, again everyone was very courteous and professional. I asked them how many they typically did in a day, 20 to 25. That's a lot.
Thanks for all the cheery thoughts, BTW Doug and Ray, I figured out an alternative dinner option, I can go out and have dinner and just send you guys the check. What da ya think?
Sure hope all that crazy weather settles down soon! I realize it IS that season, but it still doesn't make it any easier for those impacted!
SJ was reading about the incident on your street, while I was reading that the news was interrupted with a Breaking News story occurring 1 mile north of me, Police shot someone, and traffic collision, who knows what else is going on. FIFE you have to be happy your getting out. With ALL the pressure now happening, I don't see how an officer can even protect themself without fear of facing future charges. Not sure where things are headed.
Spent most of the afternoon just chillin' out, get back to the garage cleaning tomorrow. Turns out it was a good day to kick back, weather seems very cool due to the wind, not real bad but cold air, suppose to get rain tonight and tomorrow am.
AND SOME REALLY GREAT NEWS I JUST FOUND OUT. THE STATE HAS PASSED LEGISLATION THAT BARBER SHOPS MAY NOW SERVE FREE BEER AND WINE TO CUSTOMERS !! (Glad to see our legislatures take their jobs so seriously.) Unbelievable.
Take care and till later... Be Safe and Stay Healthy!! (esp FIFE)
Don, good luck on the procedure. I'm due one this summer too. I've been getting them almost every year lately since I got Crohn's. The last couple of times they have allowed me to drink half the prep the night before and the rest on the morning of the test. Makes it easier for me.
Had a rough night with wife's dementia problems. Always seems worse when our live in son is out of town. He is due back tonight. She also had a near fainting episode this morning during breakfast. Went back to bed for about one and one half hours. Seems OK now. Left message for the doctor. One good thing is that her neck pain did not bother her all day yesterday. Thank the Lord for small favors.
Local light rail line (Gold Line) is having an open house to show off their new maintenence facility this month about 3 or 4 miles from here in Monrovia. I heard that a lot of brand new bridges, buildings, etc or alreadly getting grafetti on them. My recommendation is don't just arrest these guys and put them on probation but sentence them to painting out the damage they did. I hate this stuff.
Possible shower today and tomorrow. I hope so. Got a little over last night just enough to mess up my car.
WOW SJ. Would be interesting to know the rest of the story if they ever tell it.
Time to try to cut the grass on the swamp lands on the property before tomorrow's rain
Nope our street does not cross the main street. He had to turn onto our street and accelerate. The car was parked 4 houses from the corner..So he had the length of 3 average front yards before he hit the car.
A very sunny and warm 85 on The North Bluff today, Sending some warm weather to Doug today as well.Nice this morning with no wind. (perfect) So I mixed up 6 gallons of roundup to spray on the lane weeds. And then the wind came. No telling what I killed with the drift.
Sounds like the cops ran the light or stop sign to be going that fast.
80 today, doors and windows will be open.
Some popcorn drama this morning.
We live 5 houses from the main street corner. After sunrise so it was light out.
A cop rear ended our neighbors parked car, hit it so hard it is sitting in our driveway approach. Thats one heck of a hit with only 3 house lenghts to accelerate on a 25 MPH residential street and a grade school 2 blocks down.
Morning. Busy day. Back from Mayor's Prayer Breakfast [National Day of Prayer]. Sunny and pretty out.
Fife already celebrating?????
Aloha from a beautiful spring day. Walked the youngest to the bus with the dog and then continued on a nice walk. Sure beats a treadmill in the basement. Looks like a busy day. Don, once you start purging / cleaning, it's hard to go back and everything's so clean.
Good Evening.
Had a most interesting evening doing essentially nothing here. We spent most of it out back in our yard watching some finches and a couple of owls here...just got back in

dougdagrump Aw shucks, I thought maybe Ray and I would take Don out for dinner tonite. As SJ said the best part of the procedure is the procedure, it's what leads up to it that is the worst part. I can truly say that afterwards "I was clean as a whistle in more ways than one". Hey Fife, are we down to a day or hours ? Can you play "Country Roads" on the uke yet ? God bless, my friend. Here you go Fife https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vrEljMfXYo Got a BBQ & potluck at the museum this saturday, unfortunately the park is doing a Centenial Garden Party the same day. Parking/traffic will be a nightmare. I am making a very large bowl of Macaroni Salad. Later all.

Good day at work. Nice weather for noon walk. Washed PT Cruiser tonight. It was very dirty. Watched Arrow. Meh. Found out "my" soccer girls are in a no-win sectional. This will be the best team ever and yet the dream is even further away. It has been 20 years since the team started and I may have to wait another 20 for this opportunity again. Meh. I hope everyone has a good day.
The best part of a colonoscopy IS the colonoscopy. the other part, well you already know. Good luck Don.
Good Afternoon
Got back from doing a bunch of basic buys and gotta do's...dang MRI and CT scans and bloodwork stuff. Have a wonderul doctor appointment on Friday...hopefully nothing shows up.
Had little Spring cuddled up to me on the laptop awhile ago...now I am picking fur out'n the keyboard, lol.
Wellm....back to the lair of doom for me....
Kevin I asked my DR about it a few times being told your fine you don't need that. ( that didn't fly with me as brother has Crones ) well went into ER for something and ended up with a Nurse practitioner and mentioned it to her she ask dhow old are you I said 55 and you never had one I said no she said your going to now. and that was 5 years ago so I don't have a problem knowing my family history.
Don and RT. I have been getting those since I was 32 years old every three years because both parents died form colon cancer. It is good insurance.
WOW Doug, 56 degrees up by you and 84 here!
