Good evening all,
Busy day at work. Got caught up for the month on cases. Always a good start. Doing the mini tomorrow. Perhaps the most significant aspect to the mini is that we get to go on the actual asphalt of IMS. So in one very indirect manner, anyone who does that has the same distinction as those who have competed in the Indy 500. Granted, there are 30,000+ Mini runners/walkers each year as opposed to the 33 fastest men and women in the world, but still when my days come to an end, I can say I competed at the greatest race track in the world. Al Unser Jr. (Little Al) said it best after winning in 1992, "You just don't know what Indy means." Wish me luck tomorrow as I hope I do not DNF. Lionel Christmas catalog is another winner as the "Letters to Santa" car will be ordered. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning. Sunny, warm and beautiful day. Chores and garden to plant.
Happy Saturday....
At work this morning, up to 66 today, bright and sunny.
Work until 4, then date night. Not sure whats going on just yet.
road runner is now insured and appointment set for Friday, as the exhaust gets hooked up. Tomorrow, I'll need to concentrate on the power steering and the alternator and power steering belts. Should almost be road worthy after that.
Prayers for all the ailing Moms out there, mine is scheduled for hip replacement on May 13th.
Fife - STAY SAFE!!!

Hmm I thought I put a post on here yesterday????
Oh well it is what it is.
Sunny and 70s today
Granny is already out playing in the flower beds. I stay out of the way except to answer the yes dear calls.
S.J.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 57 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Hope some of you have money in brick futures and Safelite auto glass...
I know we like to keep things RAIL here, so consider this...
B&O RR Museum had to cancel Day out with Thomas... Wonder how many of those parents will return later...?
Japanese Prime Minister Abe was in region, with a 5B bag of money for a bullet train between DC and MobTown. Wonder what he thinks now...?
No conventions; no O's games; no draft-day festivities = no Light Rail revenue. Wonder whose tax money will be called on to fill that void...?
anjdevil - I'm A-ok on the bridge. Everyday is like a telethon though with worried and angry citizens.
Sun and will hit 80 today on The North Bluff,
Fife, Listening to the mayor and state’s attorney there talk, makes me wonder? WHAT???? Mike best of luck, Don’t pop a piston in the race.
The Marx replacement motor is a good runner. Met the guy I got the bad one from off the bay to get it replaced at Menards in Morris this morning. He swapped it for a good one. Nice of him to do that. I cleaned it, lubed it, changed the brushes, put a new lube wick on it, polished the wheels, changed the drive rods and spreader bar and the 391 is ready for Uncle John to pick it up next week along with his Christmas General. The guy I got the Marx from was very nice and we had a long train talk.Grandsons birthday is tomorrow, Russell's son will be the big 5. We are going to skip the party at Bounce town.
Finished the race with a 3:26 time. Not as good as last year, but acceptable as lack of training hurt. I did 15 minute miles for the first 8 miles, but really fell off the pace after that. I did finish and I did get the bling. Weather was great and the running aids I used really helped. Still really sore, but time will heal all or most. All in all, it was a good day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mike congrats doubt I could do the first mile let alone how ever many you did. you had me worn out when you said you did 15 minute miles for first 8 I was thinking hmmm wonder if I could do a 15 minute mile yes I need to start getting back into shape. Need to talk to wife about that may look into shortening layout from 8'x 16' to 9'x 12' to make room for some exersize maching like stair climber or some other cardio type machine. I really need to look into something like that as not push those heavy food carts anymore.
Hope all had a good day.
Took wife out to dinner tonight instead of next week when it's imposible to get in anywhere we went to Lizzard Thicket which is a home style cooking and we really enjoy it when we go. We both had chicker fried steak with mash potatoes then the rest was different lol. I bakes a Cherry Pie for her thursday from scratch. Not much else going on here today
Good Evening
We did get the BBQ off the ground today and we did run some trains around and saw no broake and howe people around. It was, in other words, a good day.
Now I am just kicking back, enjoying the sounds of various EMD/GE loces going over the throat of the valley here...not much of a valley but it does do the trick.
Have a good evenin'!!
Morning all. Sunny and real warm. Did not go to SS or Church. Went out to the Train Box and sat on the back deck looking at gardens. We then moved to the front deck and did the same. We meaning the whole crew including cat. Relaxing.
Fife, not getting into this one. Just stay safe. Still say Mayor and Police Commissioner need to be fired.
Got to bite the bullet and go north to lake house and mow. Will hit the road in a few.
Hope everyone has a great and healthy week ahead.
Can't post much today, still shaking from the scary earthquake Michigan had yesterday. A 4.2er. Oh my I hope we don't slide into the ocean.
Sunny and 75 today...............Finally
Good Morning from Blueberryhill...........
It is a beautiful day. 80 and sunny.
Not much going on today. Sat outside on back deck for an hour. Had to kick on the house A/C when I came in.
Ballgame and Nascar race today.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
Went to memorial service yesterday for an old neighbor of ours followed by a large reception. It was a good service and I appreciated the choice of hymns.
Found out that the widow and one of her son's did a tandem parachute jump back in March. We saw the video on you tube. She has more nerve than me.
Mixing chemicals in pool to get it on the right track per instructions from pool store so I won't have to drain the water in this drought we're having. Heard that if you drain them, You're not allowed to fill them up again. That makes sense. Some golf courses are pumping their own ground water but that will change too.

Well, BBQ is done and we now have something of a garden set up. Got the tulips coming up, the Daffodils are out as well as the Hyacinth and Crocuses.
Audrey is untangling the little Springs toys...lol. He has just been playing with them, knocking them around, doing backflips and leaping/jumping/standing up with his paws clutching them...for a 17 yr old cat he is quite the little kitteh...lol!!!
Catch y'all later!!!
Went to grandson's First Communion. Kind of a big deal for Catholics. Had a nice visit with friends and relatives. Went to Half Priced Books while up in Indy. Scored several items that I had been searching for. Takuma Sato was 6th quick in open practice today at track. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning
Right now we are mostly cloudy, getting ready for rain to be falling on our'n heads in the form of showers and a few of those ol' t'underin'boomers again...high will be 75F with the low of 49F....bit different.
Am taking today off'n the gardening and such, going to the mall instead to pick some things up...namely new scrips ....again... and
Aloha. It was a pleasant, warm weekend - lots of yard work got done to prep for the city brush pick-up. Lots of dead bushes, junk trees - including a 30 footer - and pruned branches. I need one of those saw-cutter thingies on a pole - that would make life easier than a small handsaw and a ladder. Condolences to Mrs. B on the loss of her brother.8n, I can brief you on whatever you'd like to know about Chicago Union Station if you wish to PM me.MikeC, I love Half-Price Books. Congrats on your race. I went to The Greatest Spectacle in Racing once back in the 90s and it was a fantastic experience. Sure different from NASCAR.

Afternoon FellasI don't think the happenings on in Bal'more will do anything to the B&O RR Museum - long term. The short-term doesn't look too good, and hopefully they can survive. We decided to seek a refund for our Day Out With Thomas instead of going this coming weekend. Sad, but at this point in time it just isn't worth the risk. We'll be taking the kiddos to Strasburg for their event, or we'll take them on the Walkersville Southern RR (15 minutes from the house).Still want to get them out to Western Maryland, and WV at some point - maybe next year?Chief - no chance they get fired. Both will get reelected, and one will probably get a promotion to higher office when their current 'service' is over.Hope all is well.

The earthquake made the news because they are rare here. If there was any damage, nothing about it was reported on local news. Actually it was far enough away that most of us in the Detroit area did not feel it at all.

30 inch mower is back and working well. Mowed, edged and trimmed the yard today. Tired. Going to watch Jane the Virgin tonight and go see The Avengers tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning all. Beautiful day. Out for my walk. Mow and chores. Maybe more garden planted.
Doug M, finally got to read magazine you sent. Interesting. Thanks
All have a great day.
Aloha. Rainy and cooler in the city today. Glad you enjoyed it Chief! Nothing too exciting going on - meeting last night at church after work, another one tonight. I've been browsing Hornby O gauge tinplate websites lately - they sure look neat. Here's a train outside Weir NH in 1906
Cloudy, rain expected....55 degrees
Did some errands, voted no on a state tax proposal, done for the day..
Hello there
Busy busy here. ..Farming has started. The oats is coming up. The chisel plowing is done. Son came home today with $1,800.00 worth of seed and fertilizer for starters. Has planted more oats due to the low price of corn and beans. He also brought home a shiny new 54" Gravely Comercial zero turn mower with a thick payment book.
Dirt drag s and Hill Climb both started last weekend. Grandson managed a 1st place finish after a shakey start with red light Thankfully it is double elimination.
Son finished back in the pack at the Hill.
If any of you remember the Fallen Rider he was at the track Saturday. Some of his family was competing but not him. He's not the man he was before the crash but seems da** good for a man who had such a bad prognosis.
Computer guys. .... I got my new Toshiba laptop and wireless router. Can I make the Windows 8 act like windows 7????
Best try to get some sleep
Prayers for those in need
