From 85 yesterday to maybe 60 today.
We went to the nursery for flowers and I thought we were at the grocery store. Veggies and flowers that use to come in 6 packs were now in 4s. tomatoes are already planted, so I'm good to go on that someday to come BLT.

Morning all
Chief I know you know it was started as a joke but in realality that would be a dream retirement bit. It could be a blast. and you know actually thats what this hobby really needs is some Mom & Pop retired run some Train/hobby shops where they make a little not a lot but aren't really worried about proffit more as something to do but not loose money either. As a whole not only $ wise I couldn't do it but I would also have to be back of house also as I don't do well with strangers anymore so that would put a hurt on me doing it. But it is a good idea for someone shame some one can't take it over though.
Not much going on here today. Queen hasn't gotten up yet but then we don't goto bed until real late either. ( some of the best shows now days are on late at night now.
Talk to you all later you all have a good Tuesday

Evening all!
Back from travels to the great southwest.
Raining here and now we have flooding. Rain predicted for next several days. Dams releasing water. now if we could get this kind of rain for another couple of years maybe the drought would be declared over. What's next? Mosquitos in large quantities!
Regards, Roy
Good Evening
One finger hunt and pecking right along here. The little Spring is cuddled up on my other arm so here I be....typing weird.
It never got anywhere near 50F and stayed dull all day. Maybe tomorrow we will see 50F mmmmmm....just a coupla days ago we were at 80F and now this....
Got a bunch of HO scale locomotives tossed at me this afternoon. A bunch of Atlas and Athearn RS's and F units and other such things...as well as a bunch of HO scale buildings. A member of our diner gang had a friend of his die a week ago and left him with his whole layout. This included over 300 lokes and 500 piecces of rolling stock. A lot of this is going to end up on Eric's layout...once we remotor them and et cetera...

Roy, We sure could use some of that rain here. Had a little bit thursday ~ saturday, not quite two inches. Maybe again this thursday and friday, hopefully. Now they are talking about this being an El Nino this fall, lots of rain.
Waiting for the cardiac specialist to call with a surgery date to put in my ICD. Cardiologist says this will minimize the potential of a cardiac arrest. It's kinda like a pacemaker with an attitude. Hopefully the bill won't give me a heart attack.
You know what they say about owning a train store, you can really make a small fortune providing you start with a large fortune.
The BetterHalf is out for a Chidren's Hospital event tonite so I think I'll rummage thru the fridge for leftovers, some Cincinnati Chili sounds good. Did anybody else catch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives last nite ? Would you believe a diner in Berkeley, Ca that makes Scrapple, But no odds-n-ends of pig, scraps, all roasts and loins. Sure looked good.

Last night sitting pool side in MO, tonight with sweat shirts/jeans and the furnace running .......... sheesh.

So many roads, so little time.
Good evening all,
Busy day at work. Cooler weather. Watched the Flash and Izombie. The season ending for the Flash was a huge disappointment. Izombie was not the season ender which is good. Monday's wreck was much closer to a tragedy than initially thought. All medical crews involved deserve major kudos. My soccer season is supposed to start tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Evening.....
Some advice for our Buckeye friends, IF you don't run the furnace so much or so hot, you probably won't need to run the air conditioning.
Some advice for the Chief, you need to check out information on one of the other forums, their is a guy considering opening up a Train Store, he is getting lots of advice you may find it beneficial.
And an observation, "Times they are a changing"! Took the El Camino in for a bi-annual smog test today. I have to take it to a special "Star" station because of its age. (1987). So pick one out and head over, pull into the parking lot and there are NO cars waiting. Huh good luck. The guy looks at the car and stares a bit then says he can't do it. The rear is too low. (The Dynometer he has is not recessed into the floor, it sits on top of the floor with ramps going up to it. And it is positioned for front wheel drive.) I tell him no problem we can just put some air in the shocks and it will lift right up. (I'm looking at the air compressor.) He said "I no have air combresor, but oben da hoot." I tell him the air valve is under the gas filler cover. He says "Lease oben the hoot." Ok, so I open the hood and he's looking around. I tell him that if he doesn't want to do it no problem, I will go elsewhere. He suggested that would be a good idea, to use someone with a Dynometer set in the floor.
So I leave find another place, 4 garages, all empty. Pull up in front the attendant comes out and asks, "Hello Sirb, How I help you? I ask if he can do a SMOG test. He asked me "You hab dis car special made? Where da number 2 seat, and why you hab such big trunk, you cut? I told him no, it was made new that way, It is an El Camino, made by Chevrolet. "Oh I neber seen one before, sure I do Smog for you." I was a little skeptical, but thought this could work in my favor. So tell him to go ahead with it. Pull in garage, get out of car, he sees CSUF Alumni on license frame. And asks who go there, then brings out his cell phone and scrolls through looking for something. He finally finds an email and shows me his son was accepted at West Point. When I acknowledge how great that was, he was surprised I knew what West Point was. He had told other people and they didn't know???? Turns out according to him, the son was also accepted at Annapolis, Harvard, and Stanford. Anyway got thru the test, but sure was an interesting experience.
Should receive some electronic parts tomorrow (Wed), looking forward to start build of some battery replacement super caps for some of my MTH engines. Need to finish painting pool equipment first.
Roy, regarding all that water, just direct it west. As you know we need it. Chris was up at the Kern River for rafting this past weekend, the water was so low they had to carry the tubes 1/2 way.
Take care all and Stay Healthy!!

Of course, we all know Ohizo is screwed up in everything.
How much did the Dr. charge you to SEE him? Bet you were an easy mark.
Yes Shake and Bake's conversations are always that looonng.

HUH???
Mornin' boys. Sunny and a very pleasant 59 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna restitch a section of my jib today. Then back over to in-laws' new digs to help a little more (a full 8 hours yesterday). Wifey made it home, and brought me a new Margaritaville tshirt. Girls said they missed not having me along to lead raiding parties...
Chief - I quietly lament the demise of the local hobby shop. I'm fortunate to have 3 realy good ones within a 90 minute drive. Not sure of any in the Cumberland area, and certainly not one in Romney. I feel this is a missed opportunity, for the amount of railfans drawn to the region every weekend, and all of October. But I certainly do understand the investment in $ and needed. Too much work for too little return.
And, I'm not sure how many charges would be placed on me after some Smedley walked into my store and said, "I can get this on e-whatever for a lot less..."
Aloha from a chilly Chicago. Visiting a store to try out something you intend to buy online is called 'showrooming' - I think it's unethical but pretty common... Looks like a quiet day here.

Morning all. Sunny and less humid. Wifey's car to gas and inspect. Chores and meeting downtown at 4.
Later
Hi from as Doug put it, a chilly North Bluff. Been helping the some day maybe SIL’s dad install a driveway. Not much else going on.
I am guilty of showrooming Doug. I find sometimes when you do go to the showroom their prices are even better than on the net.I also went to the Dr yesterday. Nothing much new there SOS.

Afternoon all!
Dennis, Don, and DougdaG - have hope. The weather folks here last winter said we were facing another year or two of severe drought. Now we have flooding and lakes that were at 50-60% capacity are now at flood levels and many parks are being closed for Memorial Day weekend as the parks are under water.
Flooded lakes are good for the boat motor repair business. Idiots blasting around the park areas forget the submerged concrete picnic benches! At least they are close to shore...
Had more tornados last night. Temps moderate (80's) and HUMID...
Have a great day all!
Good morning all,
Had a nice chat with Don about my computer monitor turning red and other stuff. Busy day yesterday with care giver meeting in the afternoon and grandson's orchestra concert last night. Concert was his last in high school because he is graduating in a few more days. They showed a movie clip of all the activities the orchestra did during the past year. Only problem was they had the sound cranked up to a decibel level that would take paint off the wall. Wife and I had to move out in the lobby. It was painful on your ears. They must be deaf.
Got the name of a caregiver/housekeeper etc. who will come if I need help. Have to set up a meeting with her. I just can't keep doing everything myself indefinetly. I try to do everything but it's catching up with me.
Re opening Hobby shops, most I have heard said it destroyed their interest in model railroading themselves when it became a job. Tough job but grateful that many do it anyway.

fife....West Virginia has one of the best O Gauge train stores in the country, Patrick's Trains in Wheeling. However, you are going to be so far back in the hills, Train World in NYC will be closer.
Busy confusing day at work, but ended well. Played well in the first game of the season, but we lost 5-0. Good to be back on the field tonight. Weather was cool and wet, but the ground was soft. I hope everyone has a good day.
Rainy, cold day here.
On the previous night, I planted a prettey patch of peppers with plans of picking a plethoria of pecks of perfect peppers to be pickled in preperation for potent meals in the future.
All for now.
Aloha. Still a bit damp and cold but supposed to go back into the sixties - I hope. Nothing too exciting last night - watched Godzilla verus Mothra on Amazon Prime. Listened to a ballgame. 8n, your post helped me begin the day with a smile.
ChiefEagles Yes Shake and Bake's conversations are always that looonng.
Morn,
Had a good day.
Still working SMOG issue.
Battery Project parts did not arrive, maybe today.
Had a great Mexican dinner.
Possible rain tonight.
Stay Healthy
Cloudy and 56
Just checking in, Chief likes to know when I get my haircut. That happened this morning. Got both of them trimmed at the buy one get one free sale.
Put in a call to MTH service dept. this AM and they are finally going to ship my engine back after repairs are done today.
It has been there for 6 months. Told one month ago that part was in but apparently the engine was in one place and the part was in another department and somehow no one put two and two together. Anyway hope it is a good fix.
Mexican food out last night was ho hum. Only a couple of things I like on their menu. If I order anything else, it's a bummer. One kind of salsa too. No taste, just flamming hot.
later,
S.J. .... It costs me $14.00 to get my hair cut. Why do I pay so much? Could you give me a few hints to lower the costs? Advance appreciation.
Buckeye - Whal clipper set with a #2 comb. Do it yourself - if you don't mind that basic training type of look.
Quiet day at work. Cool when I went for my noon walk, but warmer when I mowed tonight. Weather looking better for Sunday, which is good. No much other news. I hope everyone has a good day.

Great Clips with a coupon is $8.99
The place I usually go is $8.00, have sat for the same barber for many years. She knows how to cut my crazy curly hair.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 49 (sheesh!) here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Lots to do, lots to do. Rehearsal later. Got my tux, new kicks, and new do ($20). Apparently, btb and grandson are sleepin' at fifedom tonight. Might have to retreat to yatchet.
Morning Guys,
50 going to 72 and clear. Furnace has been running last four nights.
Going to the store to get supplies/food. We are having people over tomorrow for the holidays so I told Sandra I would go today.
The John Deere is running great after finding the fuel tank draw tube plugged, going to pick up a new fuel filter anyhow. Worked it all day yesterday installing that driveway for Al the some-day-maybe SIL's dad.
Katie and Lexi's cat Milo will be losing his reproducer things today.
So we will have a better day than that cat.
Got to run,
Later.
