Aloha from a grey and cold Birth Day. Thanks for the good wishes! I am working like mad to catch up because yesterday I went on a little road trip to Grand Rapids and back. Spent too much time sitting in traffic. The middle boy had all sorts of expensive things go wrong with his car whilst I was gone - so I will be helping him out there a bit. Looking forward to getting the gifts I brought for myself later tonight. Big Smile

Good morning all,

Don, going 100MPH plus on the Northeast corridor is not a big deal.  The allowed speed goes up to 125 in some places.  The only restrictions are on curves and slow orders when work is in progress.  I heard this morning that the engineer was quoted as saying he doesn't remember the crash.  Good answer!  I think the lawyers got to him before the media did.  I think Philadelphia mayor Nutter said that this was the worse crash in 50 years.  I think they forgot a little problem out here in Chatsworth not to long ago where 25 people were killed in a head on collision between Metro Link and a freight train.  I'm amazed at the incorrect termonology used by some reporters on rail accidents.  Some even refer to each car as a train like "there were several trains overturned".  Also references to the conductor "driving the train".  As we know it's the engineer who runs it, not drives it.  There are no stearing wheels on an engine.

Prayers for all concerned with the train wreck.

Ray

Good evening all,

A good day.  Sore from last night, but work went well today.  Daughter got home without drama.  30 inch mower worked well tonight and talked to our contractor tonight as well.  Will break ground sometime between June 1 and June 15.  Sarah's driver got some air time today.  Happy Birthday, Doug M, and Happy Retirement, Fifedog!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Fifedog, best wishes for a long and happy retirement.  Glad you made it.

Had some good rain last night.  Lawn is loving it.  Really pounded on the roof for a while.

Welcome to the best part of your life the part you can do as you wish and when you wish ( other than when the one we must obey speaks) I actually enjoy it and been now in this catagory for like 14 months and really love it. Getting a little to laid back so need to work on that some but other than that I'm doing good.

Need to straighten a couple of things up like paint the wood part of the house and replace some exterior moulding first or as doing so, so its done right but anyway

You have entered the time of your life you need to be enjoying. Welcome to retirement

Well the sky opened up and it dumped 1" in 5 to 10 minutes. Driveway is washed out needless to say and water is running over the top of the berm behind the shed. Guess I will need to get the over priced bucket loader out to do some fixing here in a bit. Good thing I left the grader on the back of it. I need to get some loads of dirt to fix the berm. Hmm

Chief, that is to bad about Mrs. Edna Angel She is the one you got me the K-Line 72" curves from right?

Fife,

Congratulations on your retirement. Big Smile  Its been fun counting down with you until this transition in your life.  I remember when it was years in the countdown for laz, and then it was years and months for your countdown. Its amazing how quickly the time  passes.

I wish you happiness, contentment and wonderful family times in the days, months, and years ahead.  Oh, and may there be plenty of opportunities to play with your trains.  Wink

Best of luck!
