Big weekend train show but I didn't buy anything.
I did help with the modular layout group I am with.
I am waiting for some sign the leaves are down so I can chop them up and empty the gas from the mower for winter.:(

Aloha. Happy November. Looks like a pleasant day. I am going to miss the waning daylight when I go home today. It's always pitch dark by the time the train drops me off - and of course, it's already dark in the morning. Oh well, there's spring to look forward to... It was a nice weekend without the Bears playing. We had plenty of trickortreaters on Friday despite the horrible weather, and it was a nice day for outside chores on Sat. and Sun, capped off by going to the theater to see a musical, The King and I. The lead really channelled Yul Brynner. It was a good show. Even got to begin cleaning the layout for 'basement season'.

Mornin' boys. Chilly but calm in the Mid-Atlantic region. My NFL team got stomped last night. But I ate good and the was very tasty. Caught the end of the NASCAR race; pretty good brew-ha-ha in the pits.
On the train front, I figured out the configuration of the grandson's track-plan, and youngest princess assembled a BP station I had in storage. Picked up the MTH CAT Rental store from Klein's (got it cheap from their display layout) as well as some track.
Oh----> 6 months to go.
Morning. Fair and cold [not that cold, did drop below freezing for first time this fall]. Warming later today. Not going below freezing again until later [maybe next week]. Busy day. Some deliveries of HOT peppers I picked yesterday [bags full]. Stop at Harbor Freight for Wifey. County Commissioners this afternoon. Town Board tonight. Leave for hunting camp afterwards. Hunt tomorrow and then drive back. Veterans' Hero luncheon Wed. More Mayor's stuff Thursday and Friday to noon. Then hunt again. Rut is starting.
John, understand about Grandson. Great nephew, is the same unless real sleepy. His name is Maddox and, yes, he loves to throw a ball.
M47 and Plate, good to have you both posting. Don't mean to ignore you. Plate has been handing out some good ones. M47, I believe you are new. Welcome.
All have a great week.

Good Morning All!
Well it is after midnight, isn't it. Feels like after 1:00 but that's ok as I'm off tomorrow. Not much going on but I did score a Vista Dome car for a set I'm building piece by piece. Finished winterizing the back yard today. It was in the low 40's and windy. Felt like winter.
Earlier this morning, while having my morning coffee, I ran a mix of American Flyer, Lionel and Marx for 2 1/2 hours, and as Laz would say "No Pile-ups!"
Chief - That picture I posted on Halloween night with my grandson, he has that smile on all the time. He's the happiest kid. Real fun to have around.
John - You can't go on vacation this week. The FedEx guy is making a delivery to my house and you know how he always gets our houses mixed up!
Later............

I forgot to mention that I am in Oregon near Corvallis, so rain and clouds are the norm..... not snow yet, but maybe around January.. Have to balance the "honey-dews" with the train work...
The only down side to the day is the early darkness.... I would rather stay on Daylight savings.... humbug. But it did give me time to finish fabricating a piece for an old American Flyer Drum loader that I found on Ebay.... cheap, because it was missing the part. It works.. looks weird... I'm sure the grandson will tell me it needs painting... But now he has the "slow" drum loader and the "quick" barrel loader. Have to think of an industry that would allow such rough treatment of the drums.... nothing too fancy as he is only 5 and I will wait a year or so to get into modeling. Right now he's loading and unloading things and running trains.
I have to call my 94 year old Dad because his SF Giants won the world series, and I haven't talked to him yet. Take care all you "trainers"..... Trains keep us young, especially when we share with our grand kids...
Good evening all,
I had a great day. Got to watch the F-1 race (won by Hamilton) on NBC and found my Marx 994 engine that I had repaired earlier this year. I had boxed it up at one point and could not remember where I had put it. While putting away the Halloween stuff today, I found the engine. It runs well, but I need a proper board to lay the track on. I am off work Monday and Tuesday, but I have a lot of tasks to get done those days. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Doug, the 0-6-0 smokes as it should, whereas the transformer, well, I'm not so sure. LOL
I'll need to fix the wonderful job some doofus did replacing the power cord. Electrical tape should be outlawed for anything electrical.
Bruce
Good Afternoon All.
Don, Chris definitely had an Angel as a co-pilot that nite. Glad all is well .
Yesterday was a total veg-out day. Between the extra days at the museum and trying to finish up the halloween layout the candle burned at both ends and met in the middle. Ended up not putting out some of the halloween stuff in the trees and yard, just to pooped. In all the previous years we have gone thru 15 to 20#'s of candy, this year we didn't even come close to half that. Needless to say we have a bunch of left over candy, even took a bunch down to the museum early yesterday morning so they could give some away.
Now to start planning for Thanksgiving, early headcount is 27. If it holds up I'll be cooking one heck of a big bird. Hhmm Big Bird ? That won't work , the oven ain't big enuff.
Sorted out a bunch of old Model RR magazines, going to the museum for giveways to guests.
Need to get back to work, see y'all later.
Bruce, "Added an LW to the variety of transformers on hand here. I'm sure I didn't add smoke fluid to it but it smokes none the less" I assume you mean the 0-6-0 and not the LW.
Evening all.
Fun morning at the toy show. Picked up some odds and ends. I've got coil couplers out the yin yang now. Also grabbed a lightly used Lionel saddle tank 0-6-0 just cuz I think those little devils are bullet proof. Added an LW to the variety of transformers on hand here. I'm sure I didn't add smoke fluid to it but it smokes none the less
Been cleaning up a flock of PW hoppers all afternoon. I think out of all my rolling stock, hoppers are the most numerous.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, folks
Good Afternoon! 48 Sunny and Windy Down the Jersey Shore.
This Morning went with my Daughter Michele, to AAA to purchase Walt Disney World Tickets. This Wednesday we are heading to Orlando, Florida. Doray was getting ready to leave to open the Ice Cream Shop and she came in to tell me the battery was dead on the Escort. Yes, a 1999 Escort that she will not part with. It has been a great car. It was near freezing last night and the 8 1/2 year old battery took a dump. Replaced the battery, checked the charging system and all is good. Just finished up the leaves in the front yard. Oktoberfest tonight.
Don: Glad that Chris is doing good. He is very lucky. As Fife said that that is how we at the Fire Dept. cut roofs for extrication. If you are going to use the Lionel F# more with the TMCC, install it. It is your engine, but as RT said I would leave the E-unit and just disconnect it.
Chief: You should know by now when it comes to wives, you will always loose. Just smile, nod and act stupid. Works all of the time.
SPMan, Ray: A real coincidence. Your wedding anniversary is the day before Thanksgiving, ours is the day after!
Enjoy the Day!
John
Good morning all,
Had our furnace on for the first time last night. I see a little snow this morning on top of Mt. Baldy to the NorthEast of us. Looks like a nice sunny day for us.
Went out for hamburgers with our pest, er friend at N and Out last night. Pretty crowded due to Saturday night. We are celebrating DIL birthday today with dinner out and birthday cake at home after.
Thanksgiving is the next thing this month but having our 55th wedding anniversary the day before. I have just about conned myself into cooking a small turkey for the family this year against my better judgement. Every year I say this is the last time. I will cook if someone else cleans up.
later,
SPMan
rtraincollector Morning all. time change has me messed up. I'll get use to it. Hope all having a good wake up.
Morning all. time change has me messed up. I'll get use to it. Hope all having a good wake up.
Never has taken much to do that.
Morning. Chilly and a little breezy. Had Great Niece over last night. Her and Wifey are off to Sunday School and a special Church for GA's. Its grandparents day luncheon. Wifey is adopted Grandparent as her real ones are not available to be there. Seems I was not told this until last night. Then not told the complete plan. Seems my part was to get up, cook breakfast and clean kitchen while they got ready.
Hope all have a great week.
Up and at it this bright sunny morning. I have been hard at work resetting the clocks. I have already have the cable box, wireless thermostat, Iphone clock radio, and two cell phones set to the correct time. I think I may need a nap today due to all of this hard work.

Don if you want to up grade them to TMCC I would leave the E-Unit in it ( just disconnect it ) so if you or someone want to reverse later down the road it is available To do. Even if you have to put the TMCC in the Dummy unit and run a Teather to the power unit.
Talk to you all later

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny and cold 34 degrees. Going up to 44 today.
Today is an easy day. I will be in the train room this morning and there is a Nascar race this afternoon.
Cheerios for breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Brrrrr Boys! A very blustery 40 degrees in the Mid-Atlantic region. Laundry today, then RAVENS-steelers tonight at BIL's. Crab pretzel, wings, and homemade honey ale.
dbaker - Crawled out? Amazing. That kinda damage is usually the FD handy work.
Hey Guys,
Looks like another Halloween has been survived. We actually HAD some Trick or Treaters! Probably about 25 or so, of course they were really cute.
Chris is doing really well, his black eyes are really fading out, and fortunately no new issues. He does have a realization for how lucky he was. Unfortunately, last night 3, 14 year old girls were the victim of a hit and run. It seems its happening EVERY weekend.
We went by the Fire Department station that responded to Chris's accident. As it turned out the guys that did respond were on duty. Kay had prepared a letter of appreciation for them. Anyway, they were extremely curious as to how he was, and also amazed he wasn't more severely injured. They were also greatly appreciative of our efforts and able to find out about Chris' well being. We asked IF they removed Chris from the car, and they said no. That they were the First on the scene, and Chris was sitting at the curb! They couldn't believe he had gotten himself out of the car. Apparently, Chris went out over the dashboard and onto the hood and then to the ground. Again they emphasized in other similar crashes most often they were fatal, and involved dismemberment. So we have been just so blessed, it is really hard to express.
On the train front, regarding Chief's engines I am liking the new roadnames, Northolk Southern. Looks good. As a result of the upgrades for him, thinking of a couple for myself.
QUESTION: I have a '54 set of F3 Santa Fe's (War Bonnet) AA units. and the 4 alluminum passenger cars. The engine has a pair of the Pull-more motors in them. I'm thinking of upgrading them to TMCC compatible. What do you all think of modifying that set? I think I would run it more if it was TMCC. Not sure. THEN, decided to check out other older engines. MPC GG-1, FM, 5 U-boats all run very well, but not a lot to them. No whistle, smoke, electric couplers, not a lot of detail, all Pullmor motors, most only have 1 light. Still hate to get rid of them, but doesn't make sense just keeping them in boxes. Maybe had an elevated track for conventional use only. (Need to investigate that option.) Or try and sell. Did enjoy running them through DCS, wasn't an issue.
That's about it for now. Need to start setting the clocks back an hour. Yahoo an extra hour of sleep. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
Be Safe and Stay Healthy!!
Don
Thanks RT. A long day. Cold and wet. Shohio in the mountains.
Sleep tight.
Evening Gents.
As predicted it snowed last night and I'm sick of it already. The time change should help me get to the train show tomorrow on time....or maybe a few hours early so I can sneak in with the vendors
Did a few more hydro poles today.

Took the grandkids trick or treating last night and ran trains for them today. A good time was had by all. Daughter's and grandson's hands are improving, but it will take time for both. Weather is cold here, but may get better by Monday. I hope everyone has a good day.
RT......I get so tired of going out and working hours and hours to pay the Chief's SS and he then forgets to put on a new pot of coffee. Should we suggest he be banned from the pot this month?
On a better note, visited one of the best train stores in Ohio, Stockyard Express near Oberlin, Ohio. (Very close to the Ohio Turnpike for you travelers.) They have one of the best displays of trains and accessories.
It is starting to feel like winter is upon us tonight. Flakes of snow are in the air and the wind is cold.
At York, the CT staff indicated changes were in the works for the forum's layout. I wonder if it will have a BAN the Chief button.
Well seeing no one started Novembers and one even said wake up sleepy heads guess he needed to wake up also
Hope all having a good Nov. 1st
