Morning. Cloudy and sprinkles. Actually we need rain. Think it died out coming across the mountains. Forecasters say one thing one minute and something else the next. Lunch and meeting this afternoon with possible restaurant franchise. Hope this works. We need more restaurants. Lots of houses but no commercial.Off tomorrow to the hunting camp after TV interview with hotdog man at ACE. The Mayor is known to love hotdogs. TV guy [Tarheel Traveler] travels the state interviewing interesting things and restaurants. My comment is I have never had a bad hotdog. They come in different levels of good.
Prayers for Brent as he is working on project. May he keep all fingers and toes. No breaking of arms and legs. No open wounds.
Have a good one.
PS: Kev, we have the 50" Samsung HD and love it.
PS: PS: Almost forgot. Ran trains for re-elected State Senator's [Rep] son last night. He is two. He loved it. Think Dad loved it more. I think I will be helping a Senator buy some trains and get started on a "hideaway" layout.

Good Evening All,
The weather has been somewhat warmer this past few days and any sign of snow is gone. Still, it's only a matter of time. Hit the LHS yesterday and saw the Lionel Legacy Blue Comet engine in action. Nice, but I can't see buying the engine then being basically locked into buying passenger cars for it to complete the set.
Front patio is almost done but the concrete boys sure tore up the lawn with their little Bobcat. I'm sure they'll fix it...they seem pretty conscientious about doing things right.
The folks are free to fly south now so they'll be on their way to L.A. next week. Save a bit of that warm weather for them.

Evenin' All.
Warmed up nicely today, mid 90's, after dipping to mid 40's over nite. Aside from a visit to my primary care doc, 6 mo check-up, and a visit to Discount Tire free tire replacement , most of the day was just R&R. Spent yesterday at the museum, Free Tuesday, to bolster a shorthanded crew. Crowd was kinda light for a freebie, came reall close to 1500.
Time to start dismantling the halloween layout, , already got the cars and loco's serviced and put away. That was the easy part now comes the real work.
Mike C, That sounds like a cool way to spend an evening, cuddle w/your honey and watch the scenery roll by. Topped off with some good pizza, what more could a guy ask for.
Time to see what the "BetterHalf" wants for supper.
Later all !

Hello all not much today as the wife and I both came down with a stomach virus. What caused who knows.
Hope all had a good day. Talk to you all later

Good evening all,
A busy day at work as I entered around 20 cases. Been fighting a sore throat, cough, potential cold. Weather will turn awfully cold next week.
Finally some time to answer questions about the train trip. It is organized by the Indiana Transportation Museum, which runs on old Nickel Plate line track. They also run the Fair Train as well as some other rides through out the year. Tickets were $22 for about a 3 hour round trip. We left from Fishers at 4:30 PM aboard some 1937 Santa Fe streamliners that have had some work done on them. Our destination was Tipton. There were two stops along the way, one at Noblesville to pick up more passengers and at Atlanta to drop some off at the dining choice there. We went on to Tipton, where we could eat a pizza place close to the tracks or two other places that we rode a shuttle bus to. Our place was very nice and the service and food was excellent. We had plenty of time to eat. The ride up and back was somewhat scenic and we did go over a lake, but it was mostly Indiana countryside. Wife and I both enjoyed it and it made for a relaxing evening.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Thanks Guys,
I have been looking at this. Your thoughts???
I think it could work.

KRM Don't know much about the new stuff but thinking we are due for a 50" HDTV replacement. No frills, just something that will work with VCR,DVD and the DirecTV. Any suggestions?

Good afternoon,Quiet at home today. Wife is back to work and Lexi is back home. Just me and the cat.
Hope no one is suffering from post election hangovers.
The white background in the old RCA TV from 1991 is starting to turn red. I think she is dieing.
Good Morning,
Well the mail, marketeers, and commercials should get back to normal. All is need is all the signs picked up.
Everyone feeling well and doing well here, I got the engines all done, and even the roadnames corrected. I don't think the Chief will even be able to tell the difference. He should be getting them any day now.
Been working with a my conventional stuff, discovered that there is still a LOT of entertainment value left in them. One major observation, this hobby sure provides for endless of hours of involvement! The more you do, the more you see to do! The only down side is when you think what may happen to it all in the future.
Can't help but be elated that our property tax is NOT going to be going up $350 due to propositions.
Hope everyone has a great day, and STAY HEALTHY !

Sunny and 48
Been to the store and gave the front yard it's last cut and leaf chop this morning.
Mower and trimmer are now empty of fuel and bedded down for winter.
Lots of little things got done yesterday and like Doug we voted early and often.

Mornin' boys. The sun rose with a warm red glow over the Mid-Atlantic region. Got to get my hair cut, then mow some leaves. Grandson came over last night, and of course he wanted to run trains. Fifepops had recently added a "BLUE FOX" Little Constructors Tower Crane to the new section, around the rotary coal dump. It stands 30" tall, and is battery operated. The lad is 100% smitten by it. I'll give it to him for his layout next year, after I see how he, and his chocolate lab pup, handle the Christmas layout this year.
cheapclassics - Happy Anni to you and the Saucy one.
Aloha. Sunny today but brisk. I guess this is finally the last day that might hit 60. Might even see a hint of snow tomorrow night. This being Chicago, I spent yesterday voting early and often. . But seriously folks, had a good class last night. Looks like a busy day.

Chief......... I agree.......SNICKER...
Mornin' FellasThe kitchen remodel is progressing... my friend who did the framing and roof for the sunroom and screened porch, fixed our garage door framing, and replaced the rotten wood around our office bow window, is doing the cabinet install. He comes tomorrow to finish up. I got the island mocked up last night and I must say I am very pleased. Tonight I'll get the last pantry unit built so all will be ready when he arrives in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to call for the template tomorrow as well.Brutus - Char sure has been through a lot! for another quick and full recovery. As Chief said, she is an inspiration to us all.MikeC - Glad you are doing better and keeping up with the soccer stuff. Losing is tough, but I found playing the game (softball, basketball, etc) was what I found more enjoyable just getting out and getting some exercise was worth it win or lose.
Cloudy and warm. Off to an early luncheon around 10 this morning.
Later [snicker]
Home from the hunt. Saw only does this time. Plenty of big tracks around one cotton field. Fred did shoot a nice doe about dark as he has freezers and they eat them instead of beef.
KRM Frank, I have told Dan to not take any small does or anything less than 7 points.

Very wise Kev. Good rule.
Char has had a foot problem??? She is my hero.
Congrats Mike C.
Can't talk politics on this forum so all I'll do is snicker.
Hope all have a good one.
Evening all,
Mike C - big conga on the anniversary!
Welcome to all the newcomers!
Still really busy so hard to find time to post.
Was first in line to vote this am. Woke up at 5 for some dumb reason so got up, read paper, had some Cheerios (nod to Chuck), and then went and started the line at the polling place.
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
Miserable weather on the soccer pitch tonight with an equally bad result as we lost 2-0. We had plenty of scoring chances but never converted. Took wife shopping beforehand at an outlet mall and she got several items she had been wanting. Ran the Marx 994 set on a proper board and the cars tracked much better (at least forward, backward is another matter). Helped wife clean house today which pleased her no end. I hope everyone has a good day.
Oregon(Politics aside) has some spectacular beaches and some beautiful places. But to paraphrase John Muir ...Alaska adulterates the senses with its immense spaces and incredible ruggedness and beauty. Yosemite is still a favorite, but even visiting European Alps, didn't compare with the beauty we daily enjoyed in our 35+ years in Alaska. Had a triple deck HO for several years that the son and I spent many happy hours on scenery, until he traded it for space for a pair of breeding Blue and Gold Macaws.... Now again enjoying trains with the grandson. And lots of rainy days to be inside with trains....
Mike C congrats on the anniversary
Gloomy and 55 degrees.
We have voted and will go back later to do it again
Wow I'm gonna have to start watching NASCAR, they have more brawls than hockey.
Aloha. Looks like grey grey grey for Election day. Enjoyed chatting with Brutus, SJ, and RT last night. I have my class tonight so it will be a late one. No train news today - my commute made it in without hitting anyone. Oregon sounds like an interesting place.
Howdy guys - nice warm day today. Some guy tried to get to the Metro train today outside my workplace. He did not make it and the train ran over him before they could stop. He lived for a while, but ultimately died because he wanted to save himself 15 minutes today. Glad Chris is doing okay, wow! MikeC - my friend was at the race in Austin. He had a fun time there - apparently they had a deal for tickets for veterans. I don't know why I'm even amazed by some people or what they will say anymore. Sigh. Char's ankle is a lot better, but still having some problems moving her toes from her sprain/strain double injury. Nice chat with RT, SJ and Doug tonight. Ciao.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
A good day to take off. Got my tooth fixed. Mulched leaves in the yard. Got to scrimmage outside with "my" soccer kids. Got the "saucy wench" flowers, card and bling for our anniversary tomorrow. 36 years. Got caught up on episodes of the Flash that we missed due to soccer. The character Felicity Smoak from Arrow made an appearance and oh my mercy she was on the Flash as well. Watched Jane the Virgin as well. It was another good day. We finally got the pairings for the tourney and we got a good draw. If the team shows up, we should win. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening FellasBeen real busy the last few days. Took the kids Trick-or-Treating and they lasted all of 20 minutes (Christina informed us that she really didn't need to go because she did that when we were in Disney - REALLY? What kid doesn't want more candy?) Saturday I spent the day installing the new cabinets (well I was assembling them and my friend and his wife were installing them (the guy that build the screened porch and sunroom)). Sunday we went to see Frozen On Ice (didn't see Fife so I assume he only works PT for the circus) . Then back home to put the doors on the installed cabinets and start filling them... hope to call for the template to be done next week.Don - great news on Chris. The year I cut my leg my buddy and his wife took me to the VFD to see their train garden display, well the guys who responded to our house were there and they were surprised to see me walking so soon (less than 6 weeks), one guy said "I probably don't need to tell you, but you are one lucky guy! That could have been much worse."I agree about the hit-and-run. The guy that sits next to me at Ravens' games, well his eldest son was killed by a drunk driver a couple years ago. I will never understand people's need to drink and then drive... never. Cost a very promising young man his life, and wrecked a family. When I say the fellow at the first game the next season I told him that TheQ and I adopted a baby boy and named him Matthew (his eyes filled with tears and he told me about his son... his name was Matthew), so now we share a bond through our sons...
Happy Monday,
Babysitting today and tomorrow or should I say Lexi is grandpa sitting.
Daughter & SIL came over with the crew yesterday and we all had a great time. Lexi decided to stay. Dan and I put up a tree stand down along the creak in the bottom of the back ravine. Lots of tracks and trails so it should be a good spot to hunt. He wants to spend two days hunting next weekend. Bow hunting.
The little one is napping so I changed the oil in the Silverado.
Not a lot else.
We left "red" Alaska, after 35 years, because neither kid came back, and flying out more than one or two times a year was $$$. Settled on the "left" coast because our son is here and wanted us close... free labor with the horse farm --a big 3 day event each year and lots of smaller ones.... riding is another hobby..... BTW --do you know how to make a small fortune our of horse farming/breeding? Start with a large fortune... but since they board a lot of horses instead of owning, they do fine, and the event draws 300+ entrants every year....The daughter settled in Sac, Cal --closer to my Dad, but..... anyhoooo.... yes I keep my politics to myself, as even the in-laws are died in the wool damocrats.... but then Corvallis is Beaver country and there are lots of dams....
I tutor students who are "out of school for long periods.......for the district, but today had 2 cancellations, and it's raining, so had time to visit. Usually not so lucky....Don't watch much tv, except for a dvd movie now and then. The trains are a great diversion, besides a lot of fun. When it's nice, we ride, when it's not sometimes I ride, but do get train time in as much as possible. .
cool day here in Oregon.... rain, but maybe tomorrow not so much... but it's Oregon, it's supposed to rain. I have some electrical work to do on the layout, but first the Honey do list..... Not a sports fanatic -- too many other things to do, but do follow the 9ers -- team of my youth and still my 94 year old Dad's team... they had a bad weekend.... Beaver fever is at an all time low in Corvallis, as Cal (my alma mater)beat OSU....over the weekend and the UO Ducks beat Stanford, so my fan friends are not happy..... but then they don't have trains....
Take care..
Good morning all,
A clear cold morning here today. Overnight was in the 40's. That's cold for here. My #2 son is planning on another trip to Jacksonville, N.C. to visit his cousin and go fishing this month. He says November is a good time down there. I know by brother always went Stripped Bass fishing in the Winter. I caught a small one (20LB) once while visiting but we had to throw it back because it was out of season. They call them Rock Fish in Virginia. Out here a rock fish is any one of several species that are bottom dwellers. Look like something from Mars but taste good.
Celebrated DIL birthday yesterday with dinner and cake.
Tomorrow is election day. Have to take another look at ballot today. Not much to get excited about.
later,
Ray

dougnotta - Sandy-eggo always seems to have such fire-power, I can never understand how they fall short. If it weren't for our special teams, it would have been a laugher. At least the weather is nice where you are. If my yatchet was docked there, not sure I would ever watch another football game.
cnw1995 - YUL was my theatric hero. When I was in high school, I saved up my money and sent my Mom to see him in his last tour through Baltimore.
