That is a nice home! I can see why MrsFife is so interested in it. You could always ask the builder if they will sell you the blueprints and find someone to build it for you? TheQ and I are so done with buying a pre-built home and all the headaches that come with them. That is why we are so looking forward to building our next home - yeah we know we'll have headaches, but at least they will be our headaches and hopefully we will be able to remedy them ourselves. Chief - Christina has agreed to always be my little girl... no matter how old or big she gets - I intend to hold her to that promise. Smile

MikeC - haven't been there - but still praying for you!

Charlie - continued prayers during this rough stretch. Remember to love those around you, and tell them regularly as well.

Thank you for all those who have prayed or sent a kind thought.  It has been a tough time.  My Dad will be put to rest on Tuesday, Toni's Grandfather on Wednesday.  Two at once is pretty hard.

Good evening all,

Not a good day.  The constipation issue some of you mentioned was a factor today, but it got resolved I hope.   Feeling worse each day instead of better.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mike, Not a doctor but they have you on a lot of stuff to keep you from getting infection. The dark side of that is it stops your good bacteria from making you go. Get some over the counter Florajen3 and make sure it is Florajen3 not just Florajen. It will replace the bacteria needed to process your food and help you with the constipation issue.  Old folks know. Wink And it is what my doctor told me to do,,,,,it works.

And Oh yeah, you will have to ask for it because it is kept refrigerated.

Afternoon.  Sunday School and Church.  Great Niece Music sang solo.  Cloudy and sprinkles.  Suppose to be big rains tonight.  Planning on going eat tomorrow and hunt for a few.

Have a great week ahead.

Brent, they grow up to fast.  Soon you will be walking her down the isle and giving her away.  Sooner than you will want.

Hello all

Long night on the hill. Boss is reformatting a hard drive as I type.

Mike C. - glad the procedure went well. Hope you are feeling better soon

Chief - glad to see you following the doctor's recommendations

Good to see that Kev has caught at least one of his new interior designers:)

Work on the Corvan continues. Got the shifter apart now and we think we can fix the tranny issue w/o removing it. Who knows, in a weeks time or so it could be moving (at least around Bill's yard) under it's own power.

Clawde (the scorpion) passed away last weekend. Possibly just of old age. Had him just short of a year. Was pretty good size when I brought him home, so not sure how old he was. May get another at some 'point':)

Got the rest of the mechanical parts for the #60 trolley project. No body yet, but that will have to wait until more funds are available.

Mike C - that is one side effect of the pain meds that I disliked, that and the 'flying' sensation, and the 'cloudy' head feeling. When I broke my arm I think I was off the heavy stuff and on 800mg ibuprofen in about 3 days... just had to be careful with the ibuprofen so switched between that and acetaminophen for about a week. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Spoke with my Dad yesterday, he is doing better. Almost no pain now, but he doesn't like wearing the patch over his ear... Told him it was better than wearing The Cone of Shame! Laugh

Fife - really? So don't see you guys buying a home... not with all the plans for a build!

Got the rest of the hardibacker down today, and patched the hole I cut for the over counter lighting, now need to get it smoothed out and painted, then I can put the moldings back up around the windows. Christina and I went out to a few Lowes today to get the tile for the floor and back splash. Had a great time with her, haven't laughed that much in a long time (last time I saw Fife probably). She told me all about The First Thanksgiving (and she pretty much nailed it too), then she taught me The Pledge of Allegiance.

Evening all.

Along with the nausea comes a bout of constipation, Mike.  Drink lots of liquids with pain killers.  Hope you're feeling better soon.

As for mice...around here I always say it could be worse...it could be racoons.   Sounds as if those mice were drugs your cat would have a job at the airport. Smile, Wink & Grin

We escaped the threat of freezing rain today but those poor souls in Buffalo sure don't need what's coming their way.

Bought a lioncheif beginners set today.  Just had to see what all the hoopla was all about.  Great for beginners I guess.  I'll probably kitbash the engine into something a little more true to scale since I have drawings of the USRA 0-8-0.

Ordered 2 ERR kits today along with 2 mini cruise kits for existing engines I have with TMCC.  I'm really looking forward to doing the installations

Prayers to those in need and wishing all a great weekend.

Good evening all,

Not a good day.  Took pain pills twice.  Felt nauseous twice.  Went online and one of the side effects of this pain pill is nausea.   Hmmm, coincidence... I don't think so.  Watched a Thomas and Friends show on PBS and Manchester United defeat Arsenal 2-1.  Laid around the rest of the day.   Thanks for the support, guys.  It is appreciated.   Talked to Lucas today.  He is doing well.  Going to go rest some more.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning all,

Have not been able to get on line since yesterday until now.  Problem was that the router that controls my computer and the one in my son's room was turned off accidentally.  Called my son in North Carolina this morning where he is visiting and he told me how to fix it. Duh!

He is having a good time with the relatives in Jacksonville, N.C.  He went fishing yesterday with his cousin and they caught some nice fish including Drum and Sea Trout.  They had some for dinner last night.  He has been invited to a turkey shoot tonight by his cousin.

Got some good news finally about my MTH 4-8-4 with the stripped gear.  MTH is going to install a new drive block which includes the gear.  Only problem is that turn around time is about 14 weeks.  I don't care.  It has been down for 5 months now anyway.  I shipped it back to Maryland yesterday.

Glad to hear that Mike C. is doing OK.  Get well soon.

Condolences to those who have lost love ones.

I think we need to eat out tonight.  I need a break.

later,

Ray

  Good morning,

Update: First victim in a sticky trap this morning. :) So I had to take him outside and put him out of his misery. (puke)
I took George (the cat) down there last evening and he was pumped. He never goes on the table but last night he jumped up and crawled through the mountain tunnel and was looking all over the basement in High Intensity mode.  I will leave the traps up cause I bet if there is one, there are more.
Warmed up, Shotguns are going off all over the place. 1st Deer firearm season this weekend.

Fife, I agree on developments and interstates. Ick!

Update......

Finished the passenger loading of the Daylight with the Beepsters.  Only one mishap, have two Dome Cars, got everyone seated and secured in their seat.  They all sat their fine, NO ONE lost their feet or legs, which surprised me.  Then put the dome back on the cars, first one went fine.  Then the second one,  this one only lady had her head up too high, as it turned out her torso was two long.  Removing her feet wouldn't help.  So the only thing left was a haircut, unfortunately went a little too far.  Everyone's heard of the headless horseman, well I have a headless trainwoman.  Guess will have to have a Haberdashery instead of a shoe store.

Decided last night that I need to populate the Daylight passenger cars with Beep People.  (The people are just laying around in a box.  As a result will probably reidentify a store on the layout as a shoe store.

Humm, he must have taken all the shoes off of the Beep People before putting them in the passenger cars.  Whistling

Good Morning,

Glad to hear Chief is feeling better, hope it continues.

Hope Mike C, continues to improve as well, and the pain subsides.

Finished my maintenance on active engines, ALL are in great working order!!!!  Then decided to do some old post war.  Terrible squeal from a 2037, took apart to lube, don't know if I will get it back together or not.  But will work on it.

Bob, came over yesterday, (with HIS engine, and HIS remote, self preservation).  Anyway had a enjoyable time running a couple of trains, with NO flaws.  Well almost, he was having trouble with his remote, "loose board", told him he pushes the buttons too hard.  He killed the thumb button on one of mine previously, he has purchased 5 remotes, because they are "cheaply made".

Decided last night that I need to populate the Daylight passenger cars with Beep People.  (The people are just laying around in a box.  As a result will probably reidentify a store on the layout as a shoe store.

Kev, your post had me laughing.

Ray, Can't believe the difference in weather between our locations.  This morning the news is talking about thunder, lightning, hail, mudslides, and rain in your, and Dennis's areas last night.  When I got up this morning about 6:30 our patio was dry as a bone, and not a cloud in the sky.

Anyway, Take Care all and Stay Healthy.

Some strange anomalies going on with the layout. Things missing and moving on their own. Surprise

As some of you may know I was going NUTS because things are moving around and coming up missing on the layout.
So today was investigate WTH day.
After close inspection here is what I have found so far.
Inside the engine shed. The missing barrel, pig, burning bush, and other layout scenery. ALSO most important,,,Mouse Poop. I am still missing a small wood box, and another barrel. Sticky traps are placed to see if I can catch the cridder. Weird still that it would move these things like it has.  Think maybe it is living inside the mountain because I found more stuff in there?

Mornin' Fellas

Mike C - Angel - prayers for a speedy, full, and pain free recovery.

As some have noticed I have been quite absent from the board lately. While most of the reason has been the kitchen remodel, a part of it has been due to a phone call I received from my father a few weeks ago. Seems throughout his life his skin has been sensitive to the Sun and he has dealt with sunburn on his nose and ears yearly since childhood... well he has been dealing with a cyst on his ear for a few years (never went and had it checked), well he finally went and had it removed, the dr had called an informed him that it was indeed cancerous and to come back for a follow-up, during that visit she informed him that she had not removed all of the cyst (tumor) as she had thought. He was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (the best kind of skin cancer you can get - if there is a good cancer to get). He was scheduled to go in April 7th to have the rest of the cancer removed... fast forward to Monday. He got a call from the doctor that they had a cancellation and if he could come in they could do the procedure, he was there in 10 minutes... she was able to get it all and Dad is home resting and recovering. His ear is going to be a bit smaller than the other - but only noticeable if you really look at him - (I told him that won't be a problem because is wasn't very handsome to begin with). While I know he was going to survive, it was still a relief to hear that he was able to get in earlier and get it taken care of.

.... now back to my regularly scheduled insanity!

Mike, Prayers for a full recovery.

Still cold but at least we don't have any snow and the sun is out.

Got my hairs cut so I won't be mistaken for Santa in the stores.

Some strange anomalies going on with the layout. Things missing and moving on their own. Surprise

Big traffic jam in Plainfield this morning thanks to a CN train blocking all of the crossings in town on the old EJ&E line.  That is starting to happen a lot according to the wifey.

Time for lunch.
