Good afternoon all,

Feeling better today.  Went to my doctor yesterday to follow up hospital visit to the ER on Sunday.  He put me on Prednisone for just 5 days to bring down inflamtion in the lung.  Already working and I only took one last night and no need for pain medicine today.

Glad to hear that Don is home per Chief.

Back to my walking again today.  Had a good walk doing laps around the park.  12 step group meeting still on my walking route.  They will all probably kick their alcoholism and die from smoking.  Hold my breath when I pass them.

Have given up getting my MTH 4-8-4 with the stipped gear fixed locally.  Plan to pick it up soon from friend who has had it for a while with no luck on parts.  Probably will make a good door stop or paper weight.

Need to get out in the train room/garage when it cools off a little and  clean the track.  Haven't run much since April when wife started having problems.  Calendar on the wall in there is still on May.

A retired engineer friend of mine from my railroad days is in ICU with breathing problems.  He is getting lots of get well greetings from his friends.  He has COPD, like me but has not taken care of himself so now he is paying the price.  Prayers.

later,

Ray

Evening all,

Well wishes to Mr. Baker.

Sweatin' like crazy at work today.  Been slugging on replacing the entire steering mechanism on a '50 Chev.   I really need to get in shape.

Looking forward to the Model Railroad swapmeet this coming Saturday.  Hopefully there's tons of O gauge sellers and tons of other gauge buyers.Wink

Set up a mini Carpet Central with what tubular track that I could find.  You never know how much you take 022 switches for granted when all you have is manual 042's.

Good Afternoon! 91, Hot and Humid down the Jersey Shore. The hottest day of the summer and that is the day the kids start school! Our daughter is back to teaching so we are babysitting our Granddaughter Kali. Don: Hope all goes well this time. About the only thing that I can read on this laptop is the total of $1,343.24 total for the Chief's bill. I will try to enlarge it later! SPMan, Ray, you just can't catch a break. Continued Prayers. Enjoy the day! John

Hazy, hot & humid, and I'm not talking about fifey's-whities. Stick out tongue

Well, wifey and I took yatchet out yesterday, and really struggled to get through our channel, what with all the fouling around the prop.  Fortunately, my sailing mentor happened to be going by, and guided me into deep enough water to get to our nearby beach area.  Upon diving on the bottom, only found barnies crusted on the prop, shaft, and shaft strut.  Everything else was pretty smooth.  Once I yanked up the hook, and cranked the diesel, we were good to go.

Good to hear Dbaker getting better, and continued regards to cheapclassics.

SPMan - had plurisy once.  Not fun.

Chief we have had a summer of storms. Lots of damage and flooding all around  this area. Not a good sign for the winter that's just a few steps away.

Aloha. Happy September. Prayers for Ray and Don. Had a nice quiet long weekend. Cut back some of the flourishing weeds. Visited with family about an hour away for supper last night. Dodged a few thunder storms. Took the dog for long walks. Now back to working for the Chief's SS. Smile

Shake and Bake, too small to read.  Your image comes back "not valid address".  Too much dope in your system.

BTW: he is mad as he is stuck in the hospital another night.  Think Kay paid the Drs. Whistling

Hot and humid one tomorrow.  Weatherperson said heat index higher tomorrow than today [in the 100's].

Sleep tight.

Good Evening All !  Not quite back but getting close.  I was ready but they weren't convinced.  Nobody told me I had a minimal blood volume requirement, but apparently there is.  So I had to take on 2 units, and that delayed things.  So plan is for Tuesday.

This has definitely been one of the the more dramatic visits I have had to hospital.  Mostly due to unruly patients.  Lots of admiration out for the medical staff.

Think that is it for tonight get back tomorrow.

Posted this on wrong Pot.  So did others. RT, had to remind me. [was up past midnight and did not think of doing a new one.  Thanks Sir. J.]

Roseyville is offering free saunas.  Just come and visit the outdoors. Bang Head  90 some degrees and humidity about the same.  Even Finn, the golden doodle, who loves outside will not stay.  No rain in sight.  Couldn't turn it off the past month or so.  Watered tomatoes and peppers yesterday evening.  Flowers and shrubs this evening.

NEWS: Shake and Bake waiting for therapist to come and then getting out of "prison".  This is great.

Stay cool.

Since then, called Mike C. [a real nice guy who reads this forum and does not post tracked him down for me].  Left word.  He called me back.  Working on his health issues.  That is what has really had him down.  Reassured him we cared and wanted to hear from him.  We both have each others numbers so we promised to keep chatting.  Sent everyone best wishes.

Dennis, since second apology, no word from Technical Director to me but others have started responding.  Don B. says he is going to get on there and "do his number on them".  That will be funny.

Later.

Happy Labor Day all,

I decided to go to the ER yesterday after 4 days with pleurisy to get it check out.  They kept me there for about 9 hours and ran a battery of test to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in the lung.  Happily all the test came back negative.  The diagnoisis was, guess what?, Pleursy.  I knew it all the time.  The only thing they said to do was take something for the pain until I get over it unless there is an infection or something so no need for anti biotics at this point.  One of the test was called "Nuclear Medicine".  It involved the use of radio active isotobes to do the test.  I guess I will glow in the dark now.

Feeling somewhat better today and wife and I took a walk in the park this morning..

Hope Don Baker is doing well too after the surgery.

Reading in the paper about some of the problems with children that Colorado is having with legalizing pot.  Imagine that!  Seems like everybody in society today just wants to trip out.  Glad I don't have to.

later,

Ray
