Good evening all,

Joe, even a loss to Germany does not eliminate the US.  The best scenario in that situation would be for Portugal and Ghana to tie.  There are other ways for the US to advance with a loss, but that is the best way.  Work went well today.  Lots of needed rain.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

PS  15 pages in 24 days is a long way from when 4 to 5 pages would be done in a day.

Hmm a lot happening I see first and most we have VegaV8 chasing 3 women from his churchSurprise, Chief got his wound repaired Yes, Joe & family will be heading back to the states in 18 more days Big Smile Fife dog is having fun it looks like,I finally got my room painted and the new drapes will be in tomorrow so I can get some privacy again lol. Hope all are doing well not much happening here tonight just relaxing. Tomorrow heading to Flea market to get the non train related items and take to the auction house up the road. Probably will bring some of my other train sets home also like the campbells train set by K-Line, The Girls set by Williams( didn't really want to sell that one anyway) The remake of the NYC train set ( on fence about selling it anyway) If the G scale set doesn't sell may just put another shelf up this one will be above the mantle in the train room as I have one G scale train set there on the mantle so I could do another just above it and put this train set there. Both are Bachmann and PRR one has green engine with the tuscan red cars and the other has the black engine with Green cars so may switch engines around seeing that way I could have the green engine and cars together and then the black engine with the tuscan red cars. Makes more sense to me lol. sell the curve track on ebay and trash the box as it is in good condition at best.

The shelving I have there I will put in this room and Donna's plant room in my room will put trains I have for sale on them in donna's room just organise that room some as she has boxes and plastic containers just sitting on the floor. It will help. Theres 2 in there already so will add 2 more and because I don't have the room I will put 2 in here as I have the desk and small filing cabinet in here with mini fridge on top so not a lot of room and want to get my rocking chair back in here

Hope all have a good night and great day tomorrow

Evening all.

Quick check of Pot activities. Pretty quiet. Typical for summer.

Got some rain yesterday. Enough to water the grass a bit.

Daughter is moving to new apartment. Arranged it all herself. Real proud of her for that. Son helping her. I did not have to do anything except offer a little advice.

Take care everyone. Chief - watch your back!

Evenin' All.

Finally getting around to the Pot. To many doctors to see of late, guess that comes with age. Did have a good run at the museum on Friday at least. Walked thru the Farmers Market here in town, block off part of main street every Tuesday, and picked up some really good beefsteak tomatoes. They definitely weren't hot house grown. Dinner

Joe, Seems like just yesterday you guys were on your way "to" the Land of the Rising Sun.

RT, Curtains, now your neighbors won't have anything to see when you run your trains.  Embarrassed

Get well soon Chief !

Later all.

Good Evening All,

Some interesting stuff going on!  Dennis good luck with the ladies!  That is really cool.

Ray, Sure hope things work out for you.  Those vacations sounds really great.  My dream vacation is a river cruise in Europe going down the Danube.

Surprised Fife has anytime for posting, with his yachet and all.  Lots of envy here.

Glad the Chief found the issue with his back.  That could have been disastrous.  Hope the lunch worked out well.

Spent most of the day in the train room,  Made some progress.  Noticed the Big Boy had a thrown tire, found out another one was missing.  Got them both reinstalled and tested, withOUT taking the whole thing apart.  Was really neat watching it run around the layout at 2mph.  And it ran perfect!

Since, I did well with that, the Cab Forward has a burned out bulb in one of the marker lights.  Been that way for a couple of years.  Been trying to get a replacement, anyway found some 14v bulb, and went ahead and installed it.  So far its working, will hopefully get some replacements as soon as Lionel is back in the spare parts business.

Then Kay received this picture from a relative in Wisconsin, it was taken in 1955, when they were here on vacation.

What is so neat is, that the man in the white short sleeve shirt standing next to the boiler is her Grandfather.  The guy walking toward him is Kay's Father, and HE is carrying Kay when she was 2 years old.  The engine in the picture is #41, which is the engine I drive, and fell off of.

Needless to say I was shocked!

Morning.  Hot and humid again.  Was starting outside to mow [mine and two neighbors'] and till garden [grass growing both places] and TV 11 calls for an interview at 10:45.  Messes up the morning.  Delays much needed chores.

Glad Shake and Bake household doing better.  Good to hear from Roy.  Prayers for Ray and wife.  Rest of the crew is still kicking, I see.

Well, $.99 hotdog day at the grill [red hotdogs, not those all beef things].  All the way [mustard, chili and onions] with slaw.  Ummm

Have a good one.

Chief,  Ticks are horrible here this year.  I've had a couple on me already from just mowing near some tall grass.  If I walk in the woods they are all over me.  Skeeters are pretty awful too.

Been busy here with the kids, and yard work.  Did finally get my pontoon put in the water up north.  Water level was finally down so the darned thing would not float unto the dock when I'm away.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Great game tonight as we cannot lose them all.  We won 3-1.  I had some good touches.  Is it Thursday yet?   I hope everyone including the US Men's Soccer team has a good day.

DougnottaG- good to hear from you.

Roy,

Kay's parents moved to California in '53, her paternal grandparents and one aunt came out in '55 to check on her parents.  During their visit they went to Knotts Berry Farm.  Engine 41 had only been purchased from DRG in late '52. Really neat picture.

Same here too Charlie, wettest June since 1993. Skeeters are as big as those camera drones. Surprise

Cool today so maybe time to cut back the woods overgrowth creeping into the yard sections.

Chief, the no fireworks issue kind of reminds me of a quote from the movie "The Right Stuff" in which when speaking of the cost of rockets they say "No Bucks, No Buck Rogers".  Funding is what makes it go up.  We no longer have a fireworks show either.  They used to have one in a neighboring town at the local college football stadium but it got so people were watching it for free from the outside and would not pay the admission for the show in the stadium.  Their are so many illegal fireworks going on in that town that we hardly miss the big show.  It sounds like WWIII over there on the 4th.  Our town (Glendora, Ca.) has outlawed fireworks for years because of the fire danger.

Hey Guys!

Don - Yeah, it's a weekend get together, we (the club) meets every Memorial and Labor Day weekends.  We all sorta "grew up" together, now the kids are having kids.  Its all good fun.  Prayers for Kaye!

Well, I bought ANOTHER Reliant, after rebuilding the one I have, needs waaay more in parts than I have money and time to play with .... $750 and it needed a head gasket - which we did last night and a radiator, which we'll take from the donor car.  A/C works also, so that's another issue taken care of.

Nothing train related...yet

Have a line on a house......actually 2...one rent one buy...we'll see on Tuesday.

Busy with the meet and work...more fun than I need but that's life...

Good evening all,

USA!  USA! USA!  Ok, we lost today, but we still advanced to the next round, thanks to Portugal for defeating Ghana, and thanks to Germany for giving us such a huge goal differential over Portugal.  Next is Belgium and if we have Altidore back, we may have a chance.  Frankly I am pleased we made it out of group play.  Work was busy, and I got to play soccer tonight as well.  It was mostly 3 v 3 for the bulk of the game and we tied 14-14 (no goalies).  This has been a great week for me soccer wise.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Been busy lately and mainly lurking around the forum. Took a day off today to tend to some family business that I've been trying to fit into 'luls' at work. One benefit here was that tying up the business required a phone call to my sister. Haven't talked to her in a while, and ended up having a nice chat with her. Stopped by the LHS last Saturday and picked up the Frisco box car, a Sleepy Hollow Cider Company boxcar, and a B unit for my PWC midnight chief AA units. The Sleepy Hollow car is really pretty neat. All for now.

Off to bed.  Been reclinerizing.

Have had hole in back for 4 weeks and now one in right hand.  A nice wide one.  He did three cuts to get it all.  Says I am now cancer free [I hope].

Good evening all,

End of a good week.  Got to practice with the high school boys team a little bit tonight.   Met the new coaches.  Seem to have good heads on their shoulders.  They have a massive rebuilding project so it will take some time.  Work was quiet but productive today.  Sato turned in competitive times today at Houston.  Could be a good weekend.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello there,

Been a lonnnng week.

Don't know where to start. how about prayers for those who are sick

Roy......You're suffering drought and we are wading mud in the garden. Can't get two days in a row of sun to make hay . Corn & beans are yellowing due to too much water. Go figure.

Got back from the beach about 2:30 AM last Saturday. Came home a day early so Grand son could make the Dirt Drags. Glad we did. He brought home the 1st place plaque. As you can see he was a happy camper.

He also finished 3rd in the 125 class which is all the 90's bumping up plus a couple of 125 machines. Even his sister was happy

We had a good week at the Beach. Sunday we went to the Ocean City Air Show. The high light of that was getting to see the Thunderbirds perform. Great Show.

Monday found us at the Salisbury MD Zoo

And a Pic for FIFE

Son and his family left Monday afternoon as he had to work Tuesday(he's saving his days for the birth of grandbaby #4 in July)

Tuesday found the rest of us on the Ferry to Cape May NJ with a wave to John, Ray and Rich.

Wednesday was the beach day while Thursday found us on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park with visits to the Rehobeth Outlets on the way back to Fenwick Island where we spent the week. Friday was the day to unwind and get ready to head home, Missed Fife again while crossing the bridge.

This week was a blur trying to catch up from being away last week Think I'll head to bed soon. Hillclimb tomorrow

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Doin' laundry this AM, so that I can play the rest of the day. Pirate  Wifey and I spent yesterday afternoon dining and DrinksBeer at some nice waterfront establishments.  We then "snuck" in some Baskin Robbins.

Fifepup takes to the high-seas (okay, upper Patapsco) on Monday.  He's stoked.

anjdevil - Best of luck with the home search.

Chief - Hope you heel (or is it heal?) well.

Banks - Okay, next time I'll lend you my net!!!  Thanks.  Good lookin' grandkids. YesCool

Morning.  Cloudy and a chance of showers.  Hand is doing better than back [still not doing good].

Did pull a "poor wounded hand" on neighbor Grady [the one who uses all my power equipment and gas.  Also one of the ones I mow his grass for free].  Since he used my big tiller and my gas to till his garden, he is tilling the middles of my garden [full of grass from the rains]. Whistling

Going to Hunters Haven [gun store] to see the "kids".  Later, take the Wifey on errands [think Red Robin is in store].

Banks, great photos and congrats top the little Banks.  Been missing your posts.

I think Buckeye died as no one has heard from him.  Called Jon E. last night and no answer.  He may have washed away big rains in Ioway.  Anyone heard from 8N?  Jack up north must too busy chasing his dog.  Talked to Shake and Bake.  Kay has been waiting on him too much.  Dr. said she was the patient, not Don. Confused

Later.

Good morning all,

Hope all the walking wounded are on the mend now.

@2 live in grown son is gone this weekend on a trip to Oregon.  Had a trying day yesterday afternoon with wife who was having some memory issues.  Confused about where she was (nothing new) so we took a long drive to find "where she lives".  Came back to the same house and convinced her that we were home.  Then went out to eat and dinner went well.  Every day is different.  Going OK today so far.

Talked to an old model railroad friend on the phone yesterday.  We have known each other for over 40 years.  He has a lot on his plate too.  Good talk for both of us.

Older son will probably come over this weekend.  I hope so.

Got a huge electric bill the other day.  Even with all my conservation efforts it was still $300 for the month.  Friend in same town says his was $51.  Unbelievable!  Need to talk to Edison.  I think I mentioned that I'm thinking about putting my swamp cooler back in service.  Cheaper than A/C.

We need to send out a search party for Buckeye.  Maybe he's doing another raid down South.  Keep your eyes open Chief.

later,

Ray

Good evening all,

Remember what I said on Friday about the possibility of the weekend being a good one?  Cancel that.  Spent most of the day at younger daughter's place helping her try to clean up the rathole called her yard.  Spent several hours and the place still looks like crap.  Would take a week and a crew of twenty to make the place presentable.   Somewhere along the line, I really messed up as a dad because both daughters did not marry well and the son is a felon.   On top of that, I got an email from the local youth soccer league saying I have to re-certify as a referee since they are moving to a new sanctioning body.  Oh, and AJ raised h--- with his driver for throwing away a possible win at Houston today.   As far as the numbers here, I do not know what to make of that.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Youngest Princess & I are gonna start a little roadtrip today.  On vacation this week, but I've been informed by Wifey it will be a "working" vacation...Question

cheapclassics - Why do daughters date bad boys?  Because they think they can save (or change) them.  If we could simply remove that "chip" from the feminine brain, we could probably tear down most prisons in a century...
