Thanks Sir J.  Busy.  Finally made a Sunday School.  Yesterday was the big hosta garden show here for Wifey.  70 folks from all over the SE USA attended.   We were exhausted when it was finally over.  Big success for Wifey.  Today we were putting up more bird houses [I was digging post holes and mounting bird houses, Wifey supervising].  After that and some cherry pie and ice cream, a nap.

Hope all are OK.

Later.

Aloha! Summer has arrived this weekend - I spent yesterday celebrating the arrival of hot weather by powerwashing and water-proofing our backyard deck. And supervising the youngest in his lawn-mowermanship apprentice. He's got a lot to learn until his work is up to my standards Wink. Rewarded ourselves with a few super-hero movies and ice cream last night. And took him to the beach after church today. A nice weekend!

Good evening all,

Another all shot to h----.  Sato started on the pole and was running 11th toward the end of the race when Marco tagged him and dropped him to 18th.   Down to 16th in the standings.   Edged and trimmed yard before church this AM.  Washed 2 vehicles before race, was going to do 3rd after that but rain moved in.  Except for grandson's win yesterday, could have tossed this weekend in the trash.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Whew !,

I was concerned about the fact there was not a June Pot, and no word about/from the Chief, and especially since there was a major Garden Party, Saturday Night..  (I assume that means there was a lot of women folk around, and who knows what could have happened?  (Over whelmed by attention maybe, natural desires on the part of said visitors, who knows....  Or even the Southern Gentlemen being protective and defensive protecting his wifes illustrious reputation.) concerning over his wifes honor.  (Never can tell about those Garden Party's, you know.)  But, was relieved when the Chief called me about 12;15  AM, (my time) and I found out everything was OK.,  And it was a great success.  GREAT JOB PAM !!

So that being said, all is well and hope everyone has a great evening and a great day.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

Wow, I'm sorry folks.  Since I'm in the future I should have got the new Pot going yesterday, but I guess I was so busy I didn't even realize it was the first.  Thanks SJ.  I had an easy three-mile run this morning, but I need to now start my runs earlier as it has really warmed up.  The baseball team has its final practice tonight and it will be a kids versus parents scrimmage.  I hope none of us parents get hurt.

Chuck - I have not videotaped any of the games.  As the coach my hands aren't free to do it; however, I will ask the wife to take some footage at the last games this weekend.

Doug M. - How old is the youngest?  Our 10 y/o has cut the grass a few times, but he needs work to.

Joe

Morning all.  Sunny and cool.  Just ran small tiller in garden.  Now to get ready to play Mayor for the rest of the day and night.

Shake and Bake did not know what time it was.  He was inebriated.  Plain DRUNK.  My turkey started gobbling and I finally got up.  A text message from Don asking, "Are you up?"  I answered, "I am now".  The cell rings.  Its Don but he doesn't know how to answer.  I call back and hear poor Kaye helping him answer his cell.  Don wants to have a family meeting [at that time of the night!!!!! Bang Head].  Finally got back to bed.  Then Mirra [cat] wanted up.  No rest for the weary.  I'm sure Kaye had to "pour" him in the bed.  I guess he is due one.  Getting that contraption off of his leg and Chris graduating.

Hope all have a great week.

Mornin' Fellas

Been a rough couple of weeks for me. First The Shingles, then a car accident (rear ended), then issues with insurance companies, then had to go to Pittsburgh on Saturday to take a look at the house prior to putting it up for rent again.

The Shingles are almost gone, just some redness that needs to go away.

The car goes into the shop tonight for a new rear end. I need to call my Dr to see what to do for either PT or if I should visit a chiropractor for my neck and back. Dentist appointment tomorrow. Orthodonist appointment next week to have the retainer checked.

Then I really hope the current renters are out on 6/21. It is going to a take a lot of work to get the house fixed up to rent again. These people have been in the house for 8 years and the three of them all smoked in the house, and apparently they have all their friends over for smoking parties. Now some of you may remember back in 2004 I remodeled the kitchen and bathroom in that house (prior to the divorce), well the bathroom walls were white, they are now brown. ALL of the ceilings and walls are brown, the trim work is brown, there is paint peeling from the humidity being too high, etc, etc, etc. You would think someone would have called and told me what was going on, but NO!!!!!

I estimate it will take at least 3 days to scrub down all the walls and ceilings, then I have a bunch of spackling work to do to fill in holes, cracks, and smooth out the peeled paint. I'll then have to paint the ceilings and walls, then replace all the carpeting. NOT HAPPY. I saw where Lowes was having a whole house installation special... that of course ends tomorrow. So I may have to stop there tonight and see what could possibly be done about getting someone out there to measure and all that... sigh

Good Morning! 68 degrees, sunny and a bit windy.

Yesterday my son and I went to a Train Show in Hamburg, Pa.  A decent show that we go to a few times a year. No big purchases this time but we did make a trip to Cabella's which is nearby for some fishing supplies. Today it is clean the fish/turtle tanks and filters, donate blood and then the next to last night of school.

SJ: Thanks for breweing this Pot.

Chief: Glad the Hosta Show went well. Congrats to your wife. You just played a "small part". Whistling

Doug M: Power Washing and Cutting Grass the sign that summer is here.

Joe: I hope the kids are easy on you guys! Laugh

Don / Chief: We can tell you guys are friends! Confused

Enjoy the Day!

Brent,

You slid in there on me. Glad you are feeling better from the shingles. Sorry to hear about the accident. As with renters, some can be a nightmare. We have 2 houses that we are renting out, not by my choice. The tenants that we have now are good but we have had some doozies in the past. Good Luck!

Aloha. Sunny and hot today in Chicago. I love it. I took the youngest to our local beach at a former quarry. It is better water than the real Crystal Lake. He really enjoyed the day, and it gave the bride some peace. Joe, the youngest is almost 12 but a 'young' 12. He persevered but the mower is probably a bit heavy and big for him now. I'm sure he'll get used to it. Brent, hope your back and neck are better.

And what better time than the beautiful month of June. Enjoy and soak up the sun.

Good morning all,

June is here but we have no typical June gloom (marine layer) yet which is common this time of year.  Instead we continue to get more warm weather.

Chief, glad the garden party was a success.  I'm tired just listening about your chores.

Went out to eat with our widowed friend who just returned from a graduation in Georgia.  The guy drives me nuts sometimes when we eat out.  He likes to use coupons all the time but he needs to get someone to partner up with for those buy one and get one for half off deals.  It gets too complicated when you try to work out something with just three.   What gets my goat is how he argues with the cashier all the time about the bill.  It's just a game with him.  He is not poor.  It's embarassing me too when the line is backing up behind us.  I think I will just insist on separate checks in the future.  I don't need this.

later,

Ray

Evenin' boys.  Sunny & 65 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Busy weekend, but first and foremost was FifeGranny being hospitalized for Pancreitus.  Then took oldest princess and her little family out on the yatchet yesterday.  She was at the helm for over 2 hours, and never got crossed up by the wind once.  Pretty good for a first timer.  Grandson had a melt-down at the snowball stand;sheesh.

SirJames - is June a Grits-free month...?

88 - Ouch.  Ouch. And ouch.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

Last night's kids versus scrimmage at baseball practice was tons of fun.  It was a close game but the kids pulled out the win during their last at bats.  The moms enjoyed cheering for the kids while heckling us dads which made it even more fun.  Today was an easy day at the office and I was finished work a few minutes early.  I grilled some tasty burgers for dinner and then we relaxed.  I'm a little late with my post as it's about bedtime here.

Hudson John - I think they were trying to kill us.  I was a bit sore this morning.

Doug M. - My older son is 10 (nearly 11 but small for his age too) and he struggled with the mower as well.  However, he stuck it out and is willing to do it again.  Fortunately for him, we will not have to mow at our next house in Ohio as grounds keeping is part of the rental agreement.

Sayonara,

Joe

Aloha Sunny but cooler here by the lake. SJ, I sure love the smell of an open can of coffee. Thanks for starting this Pot. Ray, I too hate being with someone who argues about paying a bill like that - especially with staff that are underpaid to begin with. It makes me leave them a bigger tip...  Prayers for the FifeGranny's swift recovery.  I guess I may as well start celebrating the Chief's birthday a day early since he is so popular. Happy B-Day  Joe, the youngest would like a lawn service... He's getting interested in baseball again too. He was so small, he didn't like playing when he was younger.

Tomorrow is a busy day so I'll wish the Chief a happy birthday today in case I forget.Happy B-DayCakeGiftBeerDrinksHappy B-Day Have a good one.

We had a trying night last night with my wife suffering from memory problems.  I think I'm going to have to get on a hot line or something to talk to people in the know about this.  She has another test on June 10th but I'm concerned about things popping up that I don't know how to deal with.  She seems back to normal this morning so thank the Lord for small favors.  We have an appointment tomorrow with our financial advisor.  Taking one of my sons with us.  Hope that goes well.

Saw an ad from Charles Ro about placing orders for new stuff in the MTH 2014 catalog vol. 2 but I don't see the Norfolk Southern AS 616 yet.  That's the one I want to order.  I'll give them a call.  Want to make sure I get one.  They aren't due out until December though.

Good evening all,

Warm and humid but dry today.  Got to finish my trimming that I did not get done on Sunday.   Today was rough at work.  Coworkers were back and talking, labs were late and missing.  Tired of BS answers we are getting. Another boring meeting tomorrow, not as long as Friday.   Found a $2.96 DVD at Wally World on railroading.  Supposed to be 12+ hours of video.  For 3 bucks, I cannot go too wrong.  Happy Early Birthday to Chief!!  Many happy returns. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

I had another easy three-mile run this morning before heading in to work.  The workday was busy which made it fly by.  Today, I was able to schedule the dates for the movers to come pack up our household items.  It will take the movers two days (17-18 Jun) to pack and then two months to arrive in Ohio.  Now we need to start cleaning out the house for items we can donate, sell, or toss.

Happy Birthday Chief!

Doug M. - My son is thrilled that he will not have to cut the grass for at least two years.  I'm glad your son is getting interested in baseball again.

Sayonara,

Joe
