Doug -- just throw that salt shaker to the curb.  Yes, I know how hard that is.  My biggest problem is going to one of my very favorite restaurants and ordering an Italian Grinder and onion rings, all of my common sense  goes right out the window.  I'd rather die happy than hungry, it's that simple.  Heck, I only go there maybe every six weeks?

If you are going to the restaurant that often..then I do not see any problem. It's when it is every day that it becomes something of an issue.Smile, Wink & Grin

My problem stemmed more from forgetting to take my P pills....and doing this over a week....d'oh!!!!

Dougcertainlynotta - package arrived yesterday afternoon. Bow  I thought I had seen all the stories, but obviously not.  Thanks again.

Roy - Hope you're feeling better soon.

Mornin' Fellas

Hopefully dodged big one. The Murano's Check Engine light came on the other night and my OBD reader for the BMWs wouldn't read the code... so I went to Advance and bought one for $60.00... funny that a $60.00 device would read them, but the $260 BMW reader would not Bang Head... anyway I was able to pull the code (nothing serious) and reset it. Seems the fuel level meter got a high voltage surge... if the fuel gauge goes we'll have it checked, if not we'll just deal with it till we trade the car in. Now I have an OBD reader if I need one again!

Have to go to Pittsburgh after the York meet on the 18th to replace a front porch pillar. So cannot wait to get that house sold!

Brutus - best of luck with the shutdown. We were furloughed last year for a day and will never see that $$$ again, one day threw me for a loop for about 6 months before I could get straightened out! Couldn't imagine losing 1/2 - full month's pay! UGH!

Looking forward to York. I need a break. Smile

Hello all,

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muggy 63 this AM. The leaves are changing fast. Very warm and dry the past week. The weather has the fall crops ready early. We’re almost ready to start harvesting what looks to be an above average crop. Unfortunately above average crop has created a below average value. We should be OK.

Missed my usual Friday post last week. I spent the first half of it at the ER with Dad. As I was getting ready to leave about 6:30 Mom called and told me he fell out of  bed. The left side of his face is one big bruise but he’s OK.

Seasons last Dirt Drag last weekend. Last Hill Climb on Sunday. Prognos is not good for the fallen rider. Looks like he’ll be institutionalized the rest of his days. Thanks for the prayers.

‘63 Rambler American. My Pap had one.

My YORK Badges came. Been practicing with it. Who else is going?????

Best get busy, try to get back over the weekend

Prayers for those in need

Brutus, hope the shut down doesn't last too long.  My oldest son works for the V.A.. but so far he has not been furlouged.  Some of the people there have.  I guess they still give a rip about our veterans.  Let's hope so.  This whole shut down is just so unessesary!

Don, keep up the good work on healing.

Doug et al, good work on the salt shaker.  I may be in the danger zone myself if I don't watch it.  I like salt too much.

Roy, get well soon.

later,

Ray

The salt problem is more on whats in your everyday items you buy at the store. And then restaurants make it even worst. As all they know is the salt shaker. I'm not a big user of salt but wife is. I've never been big on salt other than on French Fries and Popcorn my wife has salt with a little of what ever is the item she's eating.

Evening all not a lot going on here tonight ( well thats a lie but can't get into it) But all is calm now.

Good Evening!

Not too much going on here. Mom is doing well with the cancer. The other big news is that my daughter is expecting in the end of April/beginning of May.

Brutus: I hope the shutdown ends soon.

Don: Glad to see you are on the mend.

Brent: The kids will grow up real quick.

SPMan: Ray, loved the Hunting Story.

Chief: I like that  idea using the trailer.

Enjoy the Evening!

TGIF!.  Sunny, in the 80's and muggy here today.  There is a line of thunderstorms a couple of hours west of here.  The storms should be just about clearing the guys around Kansas City about now.

Lots of crisis at work this week that needed lots of donated hours.  I'm beat and right on the edge of some sort of bug.  Trying to get some extra rest to prevent it from getting any worse.

I sure hope that the house and senate get struck by a jolt of common sense and get the budget bill worked out soon.  It is unfortunate that folks like Brutus are getting the short end of this particular stick.

V8 - that is some tale about transferring - or lack of - ownership of your car.  I had run ins with somebody else's parking tickets years ago, but nothing like your adventure.  Turns out in my case, the parking enforcement determined the license plate number by feel, and got it wrong.

All for now.

Good afternoon all,

Had a scare earlier today out in the garage/train room.  I was standing on a foot high stool putting an engine on a shelf when suddenly the stool slipped out from under me.  I fell and luckily a low cabinet with drawers in it for train storage broke my fall.  I landed on the edge of that thing and scrapped my leg on something else.  My hip is pretty sore but I don't think I broke anything.  Don't even see any bruise marks yet.

Would like to go to a TTOS train meet tomorrow if I can.

V8, sorry you had so much trouble with that car you sold.  Sounds like you are just about clear on it now.

Very Windy last night and this morning.  Santa Ana wind conditions and extreme fire danger.  Lots of dirt blown in the pool and on the cars.  It also broke a branch off of the Yucca tree in the front yard.

Hudson John, yes that hunting story was a killer.  My friend first told it to us on a train trip we took from L.A. to Santa Barbara.  He spent almost the whole trip telling us the story.  As I said before he rode in a pick up truck all the way from Southern California to West Virginia.  I forgot to mention that his hunting buddy also brought his wife and two kids.  In order to make good time they took turns driving day and night and to save money ate every meal on the way at Mc Donalds.  I don't know if they even stopped anywhere overnight.  His buddy had a relative in West Virginia who owned the so called hunting lodge which was an old box car next to his house.  He was the local game warden and his wife cooked their meals while they were there but regarded them with a jaundiced eye.  They only had an out house for facilites at the "lodge".  They spent several days there and did not see any deer.  Game warden gave them some confiscated venison from his freezer to take home when they left.  It probably spoiled somewhere on the way back when the ice ran out.  They also had car troubles on the return trip and his buddy wanted to dun him for repairs too.  Whole thing was a trip to hell and back.  I think I would give up hunting after that.

Good evening all,

Rainy in SE Indiana.  Saw some good soccer today.  "My" soccer girls lost 3-0 today against the team they face in the sectional.  I still think we can win Tuesday.   Reffed 2 youth tourney games.  One was 3-0, but the other was a 0-0 tie that went to a shootout.  Local team won 3-1 on PKs.  Some of the other team was upset on how the PKs went, but I explained how the calls were made.  One person was semi-satisfied, but the other would not give me a chance to explain.   I do the best that I can and so does the rest of the crew.  AJ's team sat on the pole for the first Indy car race at Houston today but finished 17th.  Simona got her first podium finish in Indycar and Sarah's driver had a top 5.

Evenin' All.

Good day at the museum yesterday, no pileups. Thumbs Up Took the halloween trains in to run, get them loosened up for later in the month. Kinda slow crowd wise but I guess with all the kiddos back in school it will impact on visitation.

Weather here today, warm & dry Santa Ana, brought back memories of the Witch Creek fire back in Oct 07. There was one at Camp Pendelton today, caused some evacuations and power outages.

BOC, I would say don't forget those pills, but someone who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones. The BetterHalf has had to make a few trips to the museum when I've forgotten my morning pills. Whistling

Gettin' late and I'm runnin' out of gas.

Woke up to mostly cloudy and 48 degrees.  Last Friday it was about 80.

Mowed the lawn, ran the string trimmer & blower.  Just as I was putting everything away, it the sun came out and my wife came out to work in the flower beds, which means that I also worked in the flower beds.

Picked oregano and dried it.  Have tyme in the oven drying now.  Also blanched habinairos and got them in the freezer today.  Note to self: work the habinairos outside on the grill's side burner next time - the steam off of the peppers made the air in the kitchen kind of thick!

not much on the train front this weekend.

All for now.
