Lazy day.  Sunday School and then Olive Garden for soup and salad.  Dennis, first time I have tried your soup.  Outstanding.  Then home for snoozing in front of TV.  God Father on AMC all afternoon.  Did do a couple of miles right at dark.  No dinner as over ate at OG.  Will do some popcorn now.

Aloha. I hope you all had a pleasant weekend.  Seems like the Chief certainly did. Wink Fall has fallen again. It is cold. It is model train weather. Fortunately we've received some well-needed moisture too - which helped encourage me to play in the basement with Ivor. I'm setting him up for Halloween. Also watched the Bears lose. Thumbs Down

Good evening all,

Bad day at the race track.  Sato was headed for a top 10 for AJ when a last lap crash collected him.  Championship game was postponed due to too much rain standing in the fields.   Goalie boxes were under water.  Had a nice visit with oldest daughter's family.  Watched Once Upon a Time.   May be done with it after this season.   Whole episode did little to advance the story line.

Good Evening!

I don't know but I may not be able to continue posting on this site.  I can't believe how far this has all gone, my gosh where did everyone get the kool-aid everyone is drinking!  If you don't know what I'm talking about just look back at the posts.....

Start off with RT most likely in jail!  We haven't heard anything from him in two days, and Chief is trying to start up a collection for bail money.  And RT actually admitted guilt so he is most likely history anyway.

Now John (Hudson) is doing well, he is primarily watching out for his Mom, and daughter.  So he hasn't been affected YET.  But he IS looking favorably at the Chiefs trailer, and Ray's outrageous hunting stories.

Even right here in my back yard, Dennis is peddling vehicles without taking care of the documentation.  I may need to go up and talk to him, and explain that because you get a parking ticket then selling the car doesn't get rid of the ticket.

Good ole 8ntruck, has his spin on the issue Dennis is trying to get out from under, he is messing with the license plates feel.  (Now that is new and novel, but effective?)

Mike C, seems OK, but I'm suspicious, I think he's working on a diversion.  (I mean he is into Soccer and Indy cars, NOT Football and Nascar).  What the heck is a PK?

Chuck, Is just plain hording to many Cheerios! That has been going on for years what's up with that?  Got to be subversive!

Chief just going crazy with this new place of his!!  I mean == New stand in thinned area of woods.  Get spot laid out for camper and parking area for vehicles.

Good thing Buckeye is investigating all this.  (BTW, I believe Buckeye is a secret government agent.  That's how he gets to do this travel in and out of the south.  I also have some concerns about Roy.  He does a lot of highly classified and secretive stuff.  He doesn't even have time to get sick.)

SPRay, must have really ticked someone off, or knows to much.  It appears that someone must be trying to "give" him a message with the bruising.

AND THEN the Chief just keeps on reliving his "adventures", Buckeye how much information is necessary ?  "Back home and unloaded.  Tired.  Now to cook dinner.  Wifey and girlfriends at lake house. No frappe (sounds exotic) on the way home. Was a HOT day in and out of the woods. (WOW)

Then Really surprised with Dougdagroup, sound like he is using his wife to run drugs for him !!!!!

I'm impressed with Buckeye though, I think he has it all figured out.  But I think you better be careful ROY, I think he is on to you regarding Nascar and Kyle.

This just goes on and on and on.......

Brutus advising Chief on Harems?

It just doesn't end!!!!  I wouldn't be surprised if the Chief wouldn't get so carried away, he might require a new title, like "don Chief"  but  "Slick" is much more fitting.

Will have to watch and see how this works out, hopefully it will redeem itself.

Don

Aloha. Grey and fall-ish. Sure seems like DonB needs to hurry up and get out of his sickbed Wink
Had a pleasant weekend. Saw the new movie Gravity in 3D. I recommend it as quite a thriller.

Ray, hope you are feeling better today from your fall.

8n and V8, our benighted state gave my daughter's car a plate number for a semi-truck so it racked up some enormous 'unpaid' toll fines because it didn't jibe with the vehicle. Took a while to figure that out. Lately, they mis-spelled my first name on the title of another car as Dpuoglas. Quite the typo. That continued through several registration cycles. I just had to laugh...

Mike C, what does it take to ref youth soccer in IN? I'm curious because the regs with our local association are all over the place.

Morning.  Pouring rain.  Got in 2 miles before I mowed.  Mowed in sprinkles.  Finished cleaning mower in rain.  Got inside as the "bottom fell out".  County Commissioners this afternoon.  No Town Board meeting tonight.

Actually, I was home "baby sitting" while the ladies were at the lake house.  Did leave for 8 hours to go to the farms and back.  No accidents for the "babies" while I was gone.   Yes

Have a great week.

Hi GUYZ,

Well TRIBE lost and are out and my BEARS STINK!!!!  Oh well just another grind.  Had a great trip in Pulaski NY Tuesday through Friday.  Weather was great and the fishing was almost as good as last year.  Me and BRO caught and released a bunch.  Had alot on and had a great time with a few GUYZ who were fishing near us that were retired from NS as rail inspectors.  We hit it off real well.  Heres some pics of some of the fish we caught.

Good morning y'all,

Went to the TTOS train meet yesterday and took a friend with me as a guest.  First time I have taken a guest in years because most of the guys I know already are members of the train club.  So I was surprised or embarrased when I asked for a name tag for my "guest".  They said OK, that will be $5.  Say what?  Now I can certainly afford the five bucks but it is the principle of the thing.  They let the general public walk in off the street for the same five bucks, so what the heck does my guest need me for?  Just ticked me off.  December is open house, then they let anybody in for free.

Laz, great looking fish you caught.  Hope you took some home for the freezer.  Salmon here is about 8-12 dollars a pound depending on farm raised or wild.

Took my usual walk this morning and it went OK following my fall over the week end.  I have a regular doctor appointment on Wednesday and I will mention it to him.  Seems like everything will be OK.

They are forcasting rain and showers for Wednesday and Thursday.  I need to make some preparations to my garage door and overhang.  Door needs plastic cover because it's not an exterior door.  Overhang leaks somewhere.  I'm leary about getting on anymore ladders.  Might just let it leak.

Eyeballed a C&O Baldwin AS616 road switcher at the meet yesterday.  It is MTH proto 2 and the guy wants $150.  Second month he has had it there.  Thought about making an offer but lost interest.  Looks nice but C&O is not my road.

Cal Stewart train meet coming up next month at the Ontario, California convention center.  This is the largest train show West of the Mississippi but still a lot smaller than York.  I did not go last year and may not go this time either.  Friend of mine wants me to help run his carpet central display layout but I can't do that anymore.  If I go at all it will just be for one day.  Don't want to spend the whole weekend out there.

Been getting reports that the Union Pacific Steam Team is still hard at work at the L.A. County fair grounds getting the #4014 big boy ready to move later this month.  They are going to tow it back to Cheyenne, Wyoming for restoration and operation eventually.  The steam team was there all month even during the fair taking off rods and pistons etc.  I hope to get some pictures of the move at some point.  Yea, me and about a thousand other guys.  I'm sure somebody will make a video of it.

Don B., glad to see you keeping tabs on everybody.  Enjoy reading your post.

later,

Ray

Glad to see things "Normalizing", still concerned about RT though.  Saw the post the Chief made about taking care of the "Babies", and everything was good.  Hmmm some of all that makes sense to me now.  He had just sent me a picture that was taken  where the hunting trailer is.  Said, he had a couple of the "ladies" get him and his buddy and their 6 packs, they had been working on.

Frank is on the right, with his arms up.

No wonder there is all the activity going on down there.

Afternoon Fellas

Don - You think things are normalizing? I see you didn't see Laz's photoshopped images from his fishing expedition. Just because one (the one of his brother with his fish) was real, doesn't make up for the rest of them being fake! Wink

That pic of Chief and his buddy about got me fired!

This weekend Christina located the box of Brio Thomas the Tank Engine stuff her uncle gave her... she and I spent about 4 hours on Saturday setting up, taking down, and setting up different track layouts. She informed me that she needs more track... I told her to ask Mommy when she got home... as soon as TheQ walked in the door... "MOMMY! I need more track for Thomas!" I got the look from down-under and when I told her it wasn't my idea all I got was a "Yeah, uh-huh"! BTW Christina slept with her motorized Lady and Thomas engines last night. Thumbs Up I do need to get her Lionel Thomas setup done... may work on something for her for Christmas...

Ohayo (Ohio Chuck),

Well, due to the government shutdown I am back in Japan three weeks early.  After completing three weeks of a six week course, the school had to send us home since there was no money due to the shutdown.  I am happy to be back with my family, but the three weeks of work I completed are all for nothing at this point.  I doubt I will make it back to complete the course.  I was impressed with Newport, RI; it is a very nice part of our country.

I hope to catch up on the posts at some point and I hope everyone is doing well.

Good evening all,

Doug M, you are correct about referees.  There are several sanctioning bodies for the game and they all have different requirements.  I work with a S.A.Y. league, which is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I took some classes and passed some tests, but I could use a refresher.  To answer another question, a PK is a penalty kick.  It is the shooter versus the keeper.  During the game they are called for fouls and offenses inside the "penalty area", hence the name.   They are also used for shootouts at the end of tie games when there are time restraints on how long a game can last.

Quiet day at work.  Nice night at home playing games with granddaughter.  Played one round of Battleship and two of Double Crossing.

Aloha. Beauty of a Fall day again. Got my Halloween outfit figured out - I volunteered to help at the local church who does a big party for the neighborhood. Got home too late from meeting last night to grab the TARDIS, but got a nice Chicago Italian beef sammwitch' at the meeting which was great.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Cape Ann.

It is a beautiful Fall day here in New England.  Mid 60s and sunny clear skies are tap after yesterday's severe stormy afternoon and evening in Taxachusetts.

The Fall colors are gorgeous.  Halloween month has commenced in Salem (the Witch City), the next town South of me on the coast......and the tourists will be flocking here as the month progresses, taking in the Fall New England colors and all things Halloween.  The Topsfield Fair (seven miles North of here) is the oldest continuously running agricultural fair in the US (since 1820) and is in full swing.

We took the grandkiddies and family out for breakfast Sunday morning and then to Brooksby Farms to pick out our pumpkins for Halloween.....and the crop this year seems like size is way up!!!  We got three 30+ pounders plus an assortment of smaller ones and some gourds.  Need some corn stalks to decorate the mailbox post and start putting up the decorations.

Today the wifey and I celebrate Maximus' 5th birthday as we continue to contend with the little four month old monster puppy, Raven.  Housebreaking is going extremely well.  The vet continues the innoculations and getting rich.  And I keep writing checks.

This past Saturday provided some excitement.  A rather large coyote wandered into our yard from the abutting wetlands at the rear of my spread and my son snapped a picture.  Probably looking for a meal, and as you know with coyotes where there is one there is a family close by.  The coyote would explain why the rabbits, who have been torturing Maximus with their presence since Spring, have suddenly disappeared, totally.  No sign of them.  The coyotes must have been chowing.  Consequently, the wifey and I have to be on guard so that our dogs don't become their next meal.  They can be prolific pack hunters and are quite crafty luring their quarry into their "traps."

RaySP......I am so glad your ladder snafu did not result in more serious injury.  My neighbor, when he was in his early 50s at the time, missed the bottom rung on a step ladder while getting off of it on his front porch.  He was changing out a light bulb.  He shattered his leg and ankle ala DonnyB.  Yup.  From the height of about nine inches!!!  Rods, pins, plates, and screws.  And you remember what happened to Brent with his ladder incident.  Usually these things happen while our minds are on something else.

Brent......raisin cleanup in isle one!!!!  Laugh

Chief.....after reading up on all of your recent activities, I envision a Mexican jumping bean on crack and meth.  Then I take a nap.  I think you need to focus on your layout in Box #1.

V8 Dennis........I believe you are financially liable for anything that happens with that vehicle until the title and registration are taken out of your name and put in another.  Surprise

DougDG.......I was thinking of you when some friends of ours said they are headed out to Pomona for the Doberman Pinscher Club of America national show.  They asked me how far it was to San Diego so that they could take a day trip while they were out there.  I told them about 100 miles and with luck only a four hour drive one way.  Was I close? Smile, Wink & Grin

Brutus.....I thought of you this past weekend when the news reported retro pay once "the debacle" is resolved.  Hopefully that will be soon.  Don't get me started.  The entire bunch should be strung up.

BOC......it sounds to me that you do not need any of my counsel and advice for getting into trouble with your better half.  Kudos.  And carry on.  Laugh

Chuck......I keep reading how you have "chores" to do while your wife is out and about.  Define chores.  I keep envisioning a bunch of mice running around in the proverbial absence of the resident cat. Whistling

LAZ.......how much did the local taxidermist charge you to use his samples for your fish pictures!!!  Laugh

RT.........no good deed shall go unpunished.  About two decades ago the police showed up at my front door.  It seemed a gaggle of the neighborhood 7-10 year old kids were having a snowball fight.  A complaint call was made and the police responded.  The woman and her husband next door, who were new to the neighborhood, felt their kids were being picked on......so they called the police on the only persons the wife knew that had a child in the mix, my wife and I.  The police were understanding.

I wasn't so understanding because I had gone out of my way to make them feel welcome.  I even went so far as to reassure them that we collectively as parents could make sure their kids were made to feel welcome, that children being children there was bound to be a few incidents that would require the parents to step in and maintain peace and civility.

What did these neighbors do?!?!!!  Yup, called the police instead of make a call to me or just knock on the door.  So the next day I walked over to the husband and let him have it verbally, told him our relationship as cordial neighbors was over.  That was the last we had anything to do with them.  Within a few months they moved away.  Seems like the other neighbors had had enough of their idiocy as well.

Later, gang.

Jack.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

This is why I gave up selling.  Too many entitled, cheap "buyers" that want everything handed to them.  I don't even reply to their requests anymore.  Pay the asking price or get out.  I am in the business to make money, not to read the sob stories of said "buyers" or to haggle with them.

I don't see this type of thing selling car parts either.  It seem to just come from this hobby for whatever reason.

Gorgeous morn, among many in Kansas City this week.

Spent many hours yesterday taking videos of various trains on the mall layout, w/ consists sequenced as they appeared in Lionel catalogs. I'm wanting to put it all together in a You Tube video somewhat styled as a "as seen in Lionel catalogs" series.  Included so far is the 1955 Illinois Central 2363 freight set, 1955 Burlington Northen 2328 with 2400 series passenger cars, 1955 1615 work train, 1959 Super Chief with 2561-2563, and  the 1949 2026 3 car freight set. Yet to film is a Santa Fe speedliner.  I also filmed the 2530-34  coaches  pulled by an 8020/8021 and 218 combination running on the opposing track to the Super Chief set.. And lastly I  filmed the Illinois Central  2363 heading up a business special of custom painted 2500's in Illinois Central style paint.

I hope to have the videos edited and up in time for the Great Mall of the Great Plains train show on October 20-21. We're going to have a postwar floor layout, among others during the show.

Good morning all,

Cool morning here and forcast tomorrow has been downgraded somewhat.  They say thunderstorms which may or may not impact where I live.  Maybe early morning drizzle or light shower.  Will believe any of it when  I see it.

Dodgers got lucky last night and took the series.  They keep bailing the manager out when he makes bonehead decisions.  Last night he gambled on using his best starting pitcher on short rest but got lucky.  If they had lost, he would have had no one for the last game of the series if it had gone back to Atlanta.  Also had his best hitter try to bunt when they were trailing 3-2.  He failed twice to bunt but hit a home run.  Lucky again.  Well you know the saying, "I'd rather be lucky than rich".

RT and Dennis, I have'nt sold anything for quite a while either.  I remember one guy that I sold a brand new in the box MTH A-B-A diesel set to who wanted to pay with a check.  I said OK but said that I would wait for it to clear.   He hounded me to death until he got the set and threatened to send it back if he found one finger print on it.  I did have better luck selling all of my postwar and some pre war Lionel when the prices were still good.  I made a handsome profit on that stuff but I doubt you could do that today.  On modern era trains I only got about half or less what I paid for them.  I used most of the money from the post and prewar Lionel to buy modern era trains and although they don't hold their value, I have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of them.

later,

Ray

ChiefEagles

Moring all.  Back from Dr.'s.  Off to the lake house again.  Back tomorrow night.  Then to the farm Sat.

Brutus, sorry for the furlough.  Not suppose to say this, TEA PARTY is CRAZY!!!!!!!  Gives us good Republicans bad name. Thumbs Down

Have a great weekend coming up.

I have to say that I agree with the Chief.  Problem is that they have some of our long term Republican Reps from this area convinced that they are right, go figure.

It has been a long while for me again.  It looks like Fall is here to stay, a lot of leaves falling due to the dry September we have had.  Some trees almost bare, others yet to start dropping leaves.  Spent yesterday trimming back bushes for fall and collecting leaves.  Got an inch of rain latter in the day, first good rain for a while and more coming Thursday form the coastal storm.

Hope everyone is doing well as I have not read all the posts for October.

John

Demay

Ohayo (Ohio Chuck),

Well, due to the government shutdown I am back in Japan three weeks early.  After completing three weeks of a six week course, the school had to send us home since there was no money due to the shutdown.  I am happy to be back with my family, but the three weeks of work I completed are all for nothing at this point.  I doubt I will make it back to complete the course.  I was impressed with Newport, RI; it is a very nice part of our country.

I hope to catch up on the posts at some point and I hope everyone is doing well.

Sayonara,

Joe

And it didn't cost anything to send you home to Japan?? Wink

Let me just remind everyone that this is the official off-topic place to post - and that the "layout photos not in this thread" originated with forum members, to better allow their layouts to be see by readers who didn't want to wade into the grits infested waters.

While I think a little "fat guys with beer bellies and no t-shirts" goes a long way, it does go along with the nature of the Pot thread. Topless photos of the other gender will get you moderated for life.

Hey all I'm still here just been hiding from the witch. And to think I use to cut her grass for her, trim her bushes etc and then she wants to be ugly and get her friends the same oh well thats there problem I don't have to associate with them.

Not to much else going on got a real idiot lets see your ebay seller name is train related and its O gauge related and you want to offer $500 for a set that books for $2200 the someone wanted me to sell them a N&W hopper in original box yet for $6 some idiots It just makes me go back in and put a minimum that I'll accept and a ceiling on best offer as in below a certain amount denied automatically.

Oh well christmas is coming and will see what happens as reducing what I don't really want/need lol I get in these spending modes then look back why did I buy that lol

There are just as many, if not more, sellers who think their junk should bring 'book' prices.

I've said it time and again... 'buyers' have just as much 'right' to make an offer as the 'seller' has the 'right' to reject said offer... if you don't like it - don't sell or buy... simple as that. Wink

Jack - you should have seen our rendition of 'Keystone Cops' when I was 'teaching' Christina how to use the dust pan. She grasped the concept of keeping said pan on the floor so you could sweep the mess into it, but she kept turning the dust pan over BEFORE she had it over the garbage can... "UH OH! I clean up mess again!" She got it on round 3. Since it was a dry mess we let her learn on her own with a little verbal guidance.

SJ - the photo policy gets more and more confusing the more Chief, DBaker and Buckeye try to clear it up! Wink I'm wondering why they have so many pictures of topless men in their collections! Surprise
