Jeffery, I see all post have the small abuse icon on the bottom left

Why do some have REPORT ABUSE in big red letters? instead of the small icon?

does the software pick up on possible abusive word groups?

just wondering

Brent,
Replied.  Everything seems straight structurally. Core support is fine and the panel gaps are still even.  I don't like the fact that the repair will be made with LKQ (salvage) parts.  It's taken some kind of a hit before with the previous owner judging by the overspray around the front bumper/ RH fender.

Absolutely NOT! YOU demand NEW parts from the repair shop. They have to repair the car to your specs... not what the girl's insurance wants to pay. If you don't get any where with them, then call your insurance agent and speak with them.

RedfireS197

Thinking someone needs to clone Fife after the runaround with the local PD.  If it isn't an emergency, you have to leave a message on their machine.  If it is an emergency, the recording says to hang up and call 911.

Going down to the station doesn't help either since they just have someone to answer the door without any officers in the place.Bang Head

I'll reserve my thoughts here as to avoid angering others. Whistling

The good news:  I got the job I've been after since last April.

The bad:  Decided to take the Mustang out last night.  Had a girl run a stop sign, then stop in front of me.Angry  At least $1500 in damage according to the estimate.  She admitted fault both to me and the officer.  Begged me not to call the police since her inspection was expired.  Never called anyone so fast.

Looking for another 05-09 GT.  Don't want this one back after it's fixed.

Ummm... $1,500 in damage is just cosmetic damage. If there were drivetrain, suspension, frame damage you would be racking up the $$$. You did the right thing by calling the Police - always do that when you are in an accident - even if you are at fault. Keeps the other party from racking up their claim.

My BMW took $4,000+ in cosmetic damage when I hit a truck tread at 60mph. Car hasn't run this good since I bought it.... so as long as the repair shop knows what they are doing you'll be fine.

Got your PM back - thanks. You didn't answer the question though?

Good Afternoon:

42 and a light rain. Worked on my son's 1984 Ford F150 4x4. We are going to do a complete resto on it. We have had it since it was new. He has been working it hard with his landscaping business. He is looking at another truck and take the 84 off the road. Just finished lunch, time to shower, relax and off to class.

GT Jim: Congrats on the job! I agree with Jack and Kev on the Mustang. $1500 is not much damage. Plus you know this car.

Jack: Toilets and flushing. Sounds familiar!

Jeffery: Hang in there!

SJ / Kev: I was pleasantly surprised atg the price of gas in York @ $3.23 a gal. On ther way home, we went home via Lancaster and it seemed the farther east we went the higher it got. Currently here the average price is $3.23 a gal.

Fife: Happy to see the Princess is doing better.

Have a Great Day!

John

Good morning all,

Happy anniversary to RJ and Doug M.

Jeffrey, hope the new meds agree with you.

V8 Dennis, how does the pellet gun get it's power.  Do you have to pump up air several times to shoot it?  Only one I remember was years ago when I was a kid some neighborhood kid got one and you had to pump the thing quite a few times to get a shot.

My youngest adult son is traveling in the East this week visiting some of our relatives  I am living vicariously through him with some of the routes he is taking which is the same way we used to go to visit my grandmother when I was growing up.  He is in North Carolina today to see my sister with the cancer whom we visited in November of 2011.  She is still doing remarkably well.  She lives in Jacksonville.  He will stay with her and see some of his cousins for a couple of days then travel up to Suffolk, Virginia to see my brother and his wife and some more cousins.  He will be back there for about a week and may go fishing with one of the cousins.  I told him to eat some of that Eastern Carolina Bar-B-Que for me while there.  He said he might do a little railfanning while in the area.

I was thinking about selling a train set on one of the forums but got cold feet when it came right down to it.  Had to back off.  I guess I'm not ready to depart with it yet.  I'm reluctant to sell things on the net because if the buyer is not satisfied or something goes wrong with the item it creates a headache.

Wife's birthday on Thursday this week.  She is going to get drivers license renewed on the same day which is the due date.  She also has to see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow for back and neck pain following XRays she got a couple of days ago.

Redfire, sorry about the accident.

Fife is right about parking loaded cars on bridges that are in danger of flood waters.  I guess they figure more weight will hold them down better against the current of the stream.

later,

Ray

Jim,

That is great news on the job front. You have been working at it for way too long. Yes

$1,500 don't go far these days. Must not be too bad of a hit. I would agree with Jack and tend to keep what I know. Just be sure to use a good repair shop that you know you can trust to do it right.. Hmm

Starting to rain again. SJ gas is $3.38 in town today.

Good morning. It's 73° with 77% humidity. It's cloudy and the high will be 80°.

No particular plans for today. I may work on the layout later depending on how I'm feeling. I still have the nerve pain in my right arm and hand but it's not as intense as it has been. It's kind of funny that I don't like the sensation as for most of my life I haven't had much. I could easily do without it and I hope the sting continues to fade.

JimmyT.........FANTASTIC!!!!!!!  AT LONG LAST!!!!  Thumbs UpThumbs Up Two jobs in hand and YOUR decision to make!!!!  SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

On the other hand, sorry to hear about the accident with your Mustang.  I know how hard you work to keep it pristine.  I think you called the police just to get "her" phone number. Laugh  You seem to prefer the 5.0 over the 4.6 but I am not sure why.  Mustangs haul with either engine.  And why you would trade the known (your car) for the unknown of someone else's? Surprise

RJ - Congrats on the anniversary! 24 years means many things, like give and take. You and your better half have persevered and lucked out.

Me and the wife learned allot from our grandparents as far as marriage goes. Apparently we have passed this to our children. They are not married yet but have told us what they have learned just growing up around us.

RJ,

Sandra and I will hit 27 years of marriage this year and 31 of being together  The key to our success has been whenever we would get into a fight we would wake up the next day and move on.

We seldom fight these days but back in the day I left some to be desired. Embarrassed

I am off to work on some toilets that the grandchildren and the wife have monkeyed up, once again.  I think a session of "toilet flushing 101" is in order, but I doubt the students will listen and I will be back at it within a week or two. Bang Head

Good Morning from a Cold, Overcast, looks like it is read to Rain Jersey Shore.

Today it is work on my son's truck for a bit and then class tonight. I put Supersmoke in my 736 Berkshire and my 685 Hudson and smoked up the house yesterday. That stuff is unbelievable.

Jack: That is exactly what we are doing with Mack. The vet is happy with his weight and general health.

Dennis good deal on the pellet gun and good luck bidding on the Alcos.

Jeffrey: I hope the meds work out for your nerve problem.

BOC: Great News from the Doc! Yes

Chuck: Had my Cheerios this morning.

Rich: Prayers for you and exGF's Dad.

Have a Great Day!

Doug and RJ I hope you guys had good anniversaries yesterday. Yes

It was a nice quiet night in. We had hamburgers and tatter tots. We went out over the weekend for dinner. We wanted to renew our vows next year but the son is getting married so we decided not to invade on their first year. Guess we'll shoot for the thirty year mark. Big Smile

BC - Blue Hall, first table on the left....Sigh

Parking loaded hoppers on bridges during heavy water is a common practice among railroads.

KRM - Didn't see and of those RioGrande sets this time.  Tons of Coca-Cola sets, and you could grab one of those Generals for $100.  Too red for me.  Wouldn't mind grabbing one for a future repaint though...

Fife that is what the cars were.

Yeah Too much red for me to.

I see Charles Ro list that Rio Grand set for $224.95, i will have to see if they have any in stock.

Boy, when my train crossed the Des Plaines river this morning, the bridge barely clears the water level. I wonder what the rules are about that.

I was in Ottawa on Saturday morning and that is where the Fox river runs into the Illinois river. The Fox was so high that the water level was above the bottom of the Rock Island / now CSX bridge that crosses the Fox and so the water was blowing around the bridge but there were still a line of cars sitting on the bridge. So I wonder too what the rules are about that.

Good morning, Cloudy and had a tad of rain last night with more on the way this afternoon. I think I will stay in and work on the addition today and keep the truck clean. I washed the truck and mowed some yesterday in the 70 degree weather we had.
8N, reduced power mode is not a good mode to be in. It usually means something bad is going on. Good luck
Jim, good news on the good news whenever you can tell us. I have IE but I don’t know how to tell which one I have. I have been using Chrome and it is much faster. I thought they all track? I had FireFox but did not like it.
Doug and RJ I hope you guys had good anniversaries yesterday. Yes
Jeffery nerve pain is no fun. I have had three surgeries on my left unlar nerve in the 90s and it still gives me fits. I was on Vicodin for seven years and just decided to quit and live with the pain. Angry
Rich I hope they get your medical issues figured out. Sucks not knowing. Angel
BOC, Great news.   Big Smile
Jake. I had my fingerprints taken once but I won’t go into that. Mischief
Fife, I hope you right about the Generals, I really like the Rio Grand black one with the snow plow I saw in the RTR catalog but I don’t know the number because our granddaughter took the catalog home. Hmm potty material. Laugh And thanks for the link.

Have a good one.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Cold and Rainy Taxachusetts,

I made the mistake last night trying to post from my smart phone, a debacle.  Spent half my day on Grampy duty and tutoring my elder granddaughter.  Despite my best efforts, her grades continue to rise across the board and her standardized testing is doing the same. Thumbs UpLaugh

Snow now and then warm temperatures later in the week out in Colorado and the Dakotas, means more run-off to a water-challenged area of our country.  Prayers for those affected.Angel

Jeffrey.....glad you are feeling a tad better, sure hope that the new meds the Doc prescribed help you, and that the side-effects are nil.  What a pain, literally and figuratively.  Hang in there, buddy!!! Angel

Rich......prayers continue for your ExGF's Dad continue.Angel  I also hope your Docs get a handle on your own mystery.....not enough beer in your diet perhaps?  With the under the bed stuff, my bed could never collapse.  My wife has a few hundred paperback novels stashed under there and it has been this way for about 15 years.  Bang Head

JimmyT........ouch!!!! SurpriseSad  Expensive way to get a woman's telephone phone number.Laugh

Fife......how is the Princess progressing, hope she continues to make good progress.  MikeC.....have not heard a recent update on your Princess either, and I hope for the same for her. Angel

Jake........I remember flag football well, a violent sport.  Technically speaking, you cannot jump on a guy and tackle them.  Practically speaking, I recall that one defensive guy would "accidentally" put a shoulder to your lower legs while the other would then walk over and pull the flag.  Hard on the knees.SurpriseSmile, Wink & Grin

V8.....with the Amazon gift card ya shoulda bought some fuzzy dice to hang from the Del Sol rear view mirror, or one of those skull and cross bones gear shift knobs.Stick out tongue

8N.....I do not envy your car predicament, unless you are still under warranty. Surprise

RJ.......it is a lot safer to never give anniversary gifts on the actual date.  Preferable....early or late as a routine.  Then you are never in the dog house or out just trying to make a deadline.  [swg]

Fife........I don't mess around.  I have 6-barrel abs, not six pack abs. BeerSmile, Wink & Grin

Gotta run.  Later gang.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Overcast and a chilly 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Still can't put the Paradise tree out on the front porch for fear of frost.  Fifepup went gobbler hunting for the first time.  Didn't get off a shot, but enjoyed learning and camping out.  Alexis begins her first day "back" to school, via skype, today.  I finally got one of the lines on my layout operational.Yeah  Still have to trace the short on the other.  Wish I had Roy here.

KRM - It's hard to gauge the performance of the Lionel General by what is posted.  Usually, a negative post over reliability starts, then eventually someone defends the little engine.  At best, they are meant to pull half a dozen cars, but then again, their prototypes were only meant to pull that many.  On the O-ther forum, Seayak Bill posts some photos of the LCCA General.  Trust me, these engines are absolutely beautiful, with all the "bling".  I was "doomed" as soon as Brent pointed them out to me.  Hope to get mine by Friday.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a sunny 36 degrees. Going up to 64 today with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I finished my project and now I can relax. I need to do a few chores first and then I can do some reading. Lunch and a nap will be nice.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.
