Jake........that is some accomplishment, being in the top 10 in your class.  You must have worked very hard for that!  Happy for you to be able to see the fruits of your labor.  Now get back to work on that paper you have to write!!!!Thumbs UpSmile, Wink & Grin

No problem! Working on it as I type this. Smile, Wink & Grin

Good morning, afternoon, or whatever-the-heck you wanna call it.

Working on scholarship again. Hope to get more work done on the 109 and caboose again. Hoping to get an undercoat on the caboose and lower fuselage paint on the 109. After they are done. I will put time into the P-38, which has been sidelined for a while now. When that's done, I'll work on the good ol' P-51D Mustang.

Morning all.  Yanks trying to send us cold air.  We are holding our own but hard fight.  May hit 40 tonight.  Then warm up.

Had early meeting at BoJangles wiith a Republican "recruiter" trying to find canidates for this coming election.  Told him to find those will to work with the "other side" and not be so hardheaded.  He understands.

Wifey due back from Baptist retreat.  Thank goodness.  She can sit and hold Wiley [her Yorkie] for a while.  Thinks he has to get in my lap everytime I get in recliner to watch TV.

Rick, sounds like you need prayers too.  Good luck on your health issues.

BTW: a couple of years [I think that long] ago, I told of a guy who monitors our forum [train collector].  His wife had cancer.  We did praeyrs for her.  While I was at the lake house, she passed away.  Prayers for Joe.

Have a good one.

Let me join the rest of you North of the MD line by saying that the 70 degree temps of a couple of days ago are gonzo.  The daffodils are blooming with the tupips not far behind, the grass is greening, but with temps overnight in the mid 30s the furnace is still doing its job.

Jeffrey......glad you are feeling better today.  Sorry your busy schedule pushed you a little too far.  I hope you are able to take it a bit easier again today so that you are in top shape for some needles at the Doc's office tomorrow.  Prayers the medical professionals go easy on you. Angel

Rich......you have my continued prayers for your ex GF's Dad.   There is not much you can do other than be there as best you can, as you have been doing.  Re your upcoming Doc visit, I think we can all understand your extreme frustration while they have tested for this and that, eliminated all of the major stuff.  Back to delving deeper into an inner ear problem?  I hope it turns out to be that simple.  I cannot recall if they put you on a motion sickness med to see if that helps, might be worth a try in the short run.  Maybe you are going through the change of life and have some hormonal imbalance.  Hang in there.  Angel  Smile, Wink & Grin

Re the West Texas tragedy and the loss of so many responders, sad.  Heroic and selfless. Angel

Jake........that is some accomplishment, being in the top 10 in your class.  You must have worked very hard for that!  Happy for you to be able to see the fruits of your labor.  Now get back to work on that paper you have to write!!!!Thumbs UpSmile, Wink & Grin

V8 Dennis........it must be very satisfying to look at your Del Sol with all that you have put into it in a relatively short period of time.  Don't do any waxing until about the four week mark with the new paint......it is dry but needs time to harden/cure. Thumbs Up

DougDG......how many of us follow the Doc's orders to the letter?  I know I don't.  I have been pretty good about some things, eliminated others from my lifestyle, but I continue to slip up on salt and my cholesterol.  My excuse is that I need to give the Docs something to lecture me about. Surprise

RJ........ya got the space and ya got some concepts and ya got the lumber!!!!!  progress!!!!  Thumbs Up

JoeyD, AF Ray, and HudsonJohn......pretty hard for the Yankees to catch the Red Sox: we have won 7 in a row with a lineup no one here recognizes half of from a year ago.  No names carrying the day so far.  David Ortiz is back in the lineup, finally.

SJ.........I am pretty sure you have come to the realization that Granny did not miss you a lick in your (York) absence. Laugh

BOC........don't put away the long underwear quite yet!!  Wink

Ryan......how is it that you still have the Mustang?  If it were me I would not trust to leave it with you.  Nor would JimmyT. Laugh

KEV and DougM......it's been dryer than normal here overall.  We sure could use a good soaking, only got a tad of what you got.

HudsonJohn...... that's good news on your pup Mack.  How do the vets treat low blood sugar?Surprise

Later gang.

Good Morning from Cold but Sunny NJ:

It took me 1 1/2 hours to get caught up on the Pot!

We had a great time at York! My train purchases were a 6464-25 GN Boxcar and a 6464-50 M&StL Boxcar. I got them both for $35 and they are dirty but in excellent shape with no boxes. My son acquired 2 Marx sets, plus other Marx items, while Ray scored 3 AF cars plus other items. I also grabed some needed parts.

Mack's test results came back that his blood sugar was low. He is going for more tests on Monday, but he seems his normal self now. He really tired my daughter's dog out last night.

I had a Great Time with the crew at York. It is good to meet everyone. Eventhough we may not agree with everyone here on certain issues we do have that common bond.

Doray is glad that everyone enjoyed the ice cream. There will be more for October along with MORE DRY ICE!

Doug M: I hope your son is feeling better.

Jake: Congrats on being in the top 10 of your graduating class. Yes

BOC: Good luck with the doctors.

Rich: Prayers for you and the ex GF's Dad.

Banks: Who was following Who? Laugh

Jack: Thanks for the concern about Mack. He is a big part of the family.

RT/ Submmbob: Enjoyed the pic and as Bob said: Smartboat! Yes to both of you!

Kevink22: Too bad we did not meet at York.

Brent: The project list keeps getting bigger!

Fife: The General is my wife's favorite engine.

SJ / Charlie: Great seeing you guys again. Glad you made it back safe.

Have a Great Day:

John

The temp is 35, wow what a difference three days of 70s make. Although the colder air had arrived by Saturday morning in York as well. I feel tired this morning so don't plan to do much today except laundry..S.J.

Kev, in RE to the cabinet

I am not up to speed on what gun safes cost, but i would guess you get a fast 500 to 600 dollars for the haz mat cabinet. I would think it would go pretty quick on craigs list in the chicago area.

Good morning. It's 45° with 95% humidity. There's some clouds. The high will be 75°.

Still under the weather but I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday. Not being able to remember even simple things was the absolute pits.  That doesn't seem to be a problem today.  So maybe I'll be able to get some layout work done. Nothing special, just put some things away. It won't clean up the mess but it will reduce the clutter a bit.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Good Morning every one!

WOW did it get cold last night.......  Frost warning was issued, but i dont think we actually got any.  either way, I had to build a small fire in the wood stove to take the chill out of the house.

Got all the body work done on the truck yesterday, if thats what you want to call it, its more like un screw and replace, looks pretty good, wheels and tires should be in on tuesday and I can officially return the Mustang to her.  After driving a P/U truck for so many years driving that mustang felt like my but was dragging on the ground.  LOL

Dont yet know whats in store for today.....

Rich, Prayers offered for your ex GF's dad. Living with CHF is rough, mine isn't as bad as some of the folks in our support group, but I still make some errors in judgement concerning diet and activities.

Good Evening, Dudes!

Short point: I'm glad he has been caught, alive and in hopes he spills the beans.  TV coverage was overkill.  Boston SP, PD, FD & EMS all did outstanding jobs.

Pray for West, TX - Largest loss of FD & EMS personnel since 9/11 - Angel

Still not feeling right, but next appointment on Thursday, will press HARD for diag and treatment.  I CANNOT deal with this and I have to move on.  Besides, I have a rendezvous with my Princess on her birthday.  Need to rectify the transportation issues for long term and get my azz to FLA in May.

I found a 1110 Lionel in a drawer in a closet and being bored, I installed a new lens and LED light in the lens.  I had to drill it out and file out 2 slots and it fits and works perfectly.  This was really a test run for my 2037 project.  If I get bored again, I'll be doing a repeat for the 2037 (which will be a 4-6-4).  May have to look under bed(s) and more drawers to see if I have put away anything thing else...Hey, you never know...

My ex GF's Dad is not doing well, they are taking him to home hospice, looking fo a 24/7 nurse.  CHF & 90% kidney function loss.....she's holding up but I can tell she's cracking...I'm trying to be there for her, best possible, albeit 20 miles away....tough situation.

Today was food day evidently.  Went to Hightstown Diner for Breakfast at 1230 home by 2.  Went with Mom & Dad to Pro-Life dinner at church.  Probably won't eat until Monday.... Bang Head

That's all from cool breezy and dark Central NJ......

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s.   Changing the subject to a more pleasant topic, a racing team owned by a true American Legend, A J Foyt, qualified 4th fastest at another American  legendary event, the Long Beach Grand Prix.  Takuma Sato did an excellent job in his Honda powered machine and is more than capable of putting the Texan in Victory Lane for the first time in 10 years.  Sarah's driver and Simona had less than stellar qualifying runs, but both were in the top 10 after the first practice session and could be threats as well.  I also planted 2 new American trees, Flowering Dogwoods, in the yard today and properly shielded them from the long legged rodents that inhabit our yard.  I truly hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Today has been a real drag for me, mentally and physically. Physically because I was in extreme pain just about head to toe and my knees and hips were feeling none too strong. Mentally because, well let's just say my mental faculties were 'out to lunch'. That's vastly improved during the day but this morning I couldn't even remember how to operate my Digitrax Zephyr!. Just trying to remember made me dizzy. If I had taken an IQ test this morning the score would have probably been below 70. My norm is 187 out of 200. By 10am it was much better and by the afternoon I was back to my normal self. However the pain is still with me. Hopefully that will fade a lot by morning.

It looks like the next couple of days will be nice and sunny with the high in the 70's. Monday I have a doctor appointment. General checkup and lab work. Well, time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

The end of April and it's 38 degrees here. I'm happy to report that the four in our group are home safe. I will always defend the right to all who voice an opinion on something but after TV TV TV TV reports of the Boston bombers I am skipping over that subject on here completely. It was a tiring week for this old man but I enjoyed all of York week. Some banilla later..S.J.

Evenin' All.

Been runnin' on fumes all week but got the Better-Half's "Relay For Life" display at the site very early this morning. About 11:30 my work was done so I came home and SNOOZED for about three hours. Thumbs Up Got to be back in the early morning tomorrow to help the ladies pack up. Zzz

re: Boston, Was there an over-reaction by LE with the complete lockdown and manpower, maybe. But to err on the side of safety for the "general populace" is an error I will accept in this case, especially after hearing/seeing the shootout that ocurred. I haven't heard anything like that in many, many years. Can't imagine what might have happened had the area not been on lockdown. My only disapointment so far is that he hasn't been declared an "enemy combatant" to really drag his butt over the coals to find out any other accomplices.

Later all.

Amen he's in custody YEAH!! now the freakin' turkey has to deal with system.

Now how to pay the bill for all of the over the top to catch one dumb kid??? Open your wallet RT too bad we can't make the media pay with some of the money they got from the commercialism on slot they forced on us today. They should of saved us the money and killed the dumb kid, he will be on the tax payers dime till way past the end of me. Dots - Sign. The waste of people and resources was the worst I have ever seen in my 61 years. WTF? Now we will need to thank all of the guys that got OT and had Donuts today on the Gov dime. Dead Come ON!!!! what is wrong here?????  I wish I was out there today and wanted to commit a crime. It would of been a cake walk. Laugh Hmm Shame on us all. Law and Order is out of control. One dumb kid stops the world???????????????

Now don't get me wrong here,,, I have the highest regard for these men and woman who put their lives on the line but I think that their management is out of control. It is driven by the political a$$holes who put these men and woman out there in stupid numbers as working for the people when they just want to stay in office  and be re-elected.

Kev - I agree with you 100%. As I posted on facebook on Brent's site "To bad they didn't get rid of the 19 yo. Now they will spend all the money and time, blame his brother, and then give him a short jail time.

And on Brutus's site "will the American people get justice? With our court system, our attorney system and the leniency in sentencing, I doubt we will get justice."

Pat

Thanks Pat,

I am not one to Push my opinions on anyone but I do reserve the right to have my own and speak it without point counter point. Wink  I will leave the last word to the ones that feel  the need for it. Laugh

I think the Navy Seal approach would of served us all better. Whistling JMHO

Most of us I think, but not sure, but for sure in my case, see someone and something completely different when we look in the mirror than others see when they look at us. Smile, Wink & Grin

I see my ALCO 200 series chassis sold on the bay. I would of liked to get more but it will have to do. Hmm You can never tell how they will sell. It had 99 views and 10 watchers but only 2 bids. Confused

You guys have a good night.

Especially you Jack. Wink Don't get upset if the whole world does not fall in line behind you and your opinions. Your still okay with me and I for one enjoy the differences of opinions we share here on the pot. It gives me a reason to reflect on my opinions. I have even been known to change my mind about things.Yeah

And BTW Jack,

I am with you on this and none was intended. Pat......I am sure many if not most of us feel the same way.  Last night before the second one was caught I said to my wife that a bullet would be fast, cheap, and make folks feel vidicated and safe.

After cooling off, and in this instance, I came to think this "kid" is worth far more dead than alive.  Until we get some more answers and maybe some more leads.  My bet is that long term he will not receive the same treatment as a normal murdering thug and will face the Feds and a death sentence for federal and terrorist crimes.  He will ultimately get treated like Timothy McVeigh, the domestic terrorist from the Oklahoma City bombings, executed 13 years ago.
