Back home after a quick trip to Michigan.
We went to my wife's 100th birthday celebration on Friday. He got there the hard way - only counts ONE birthday per year, unlike SOME of the folks here on the Pot. Good time had by all.
On Saturday, we visited mom. She is doing OK.
We then enjoyed the snow in St Louis on Sunday. We called it quits after narrowly dodging two accidents in about ten minutes. Finished the trip today. I-70 was snow covered and slippery, but passable. Without the traffic, we would have kept going.
All for now.
Good morning all! (it's 12:52am here)
It's been a rough two weeks here as I've had two bouts with separate a cold. Coughing so bad I'm up all night getting maybe 2 hours of sleep when you add it all up. ENOUGH ALREADY!
How's everyone's MARCH MADNESS bracket? Red like mine?
Ryan - Sorry to hear about your troubles. These events are certainly a HUGE step. Hope all goes well.
Chief - Happy belated anniversary.
HudsonJohn - I need some help with a box at my house. Seems to have my name on it. Must have been miss-directed!
Laz - Great pic! But I think the papers might have gotten it wrong. With so many suspects I wonder if they dusted for fingerprints? Looking forward to another long walk at York!
JoeD - Next Monday is the Home Opener! We will be there. Don't know if you heard but the schedule makers also planned for the Met's home opener to be the same day and time! Crazy! It'll be interesting to see thier attendance.
KevinK22 - ! Like must of us here I also went through Little League with our kids. It's great and usually the only thing that get's in the way of fun are the adults. Keep the stories coming. Anytime you feel like coming over to the dark side I can send you an application. Us Yankees fans will gladly take you in.
LV - I also saw that series on History channel. Really enjoyed it. J. D. Rockefeller had a large impact in our history while also used trains as his pawn. Good luck with the paper.
V8Dennis - Good luck with your leg and hope there's nothing too serious.
Kev - Your layout is what I like best about this hobby. The ability to re-arrange or add to it whenever you want. It would be a sad thing to be "done" with it.
RIJack - How do you feel about your Saux this year? Any new kids on the horizon?

Proverbial 10#'s in the 5# bag the past four days, although part of Sunday had some veg-out time. Just been to pooped to post. First half of today was cooking for the BetterHalfs hen party, second half was mountain goat weed pulling and the third was was finishing a rehab on a couple of Liionel engines for the Kid's Club.
Saturday we are going to take the Kid's Club Ops to the next level, we will be running multiple trains on the same mainlines using DCS and TMCC.
Continued prayers for our Princesses. Ryan, Hang in there, you've got a big support group here if you ever feel the need to talk.
Time to call it a nite.

Konbanwa,
I don’t have much to report today. The weather was chilly, work was busy, and we had pork chops for dinner.
8N – Did you mean your wife’s dad’s 100th birthday? Or are you a gold digger?
V8 – I’m glad you were able to see the doctor and that it was a simple diagnosis.
AF Ray – I’m glad you’re feeling better. That will be a crazy day for sure. It looks like DJ will be on the DL for the opener.
Sayonara,
Joe
Demay8N – Did you mean your wife’s dad’s 100th birthday? Or are you a gold digger?
JoeD - I was trying to figure out a good way to ask the same thing! Good one! I'm afraid feeling better might have to wait as I remember seeing 3:45 on the clock and woke up at 5:15. And I was told these meds were going to help me sleep comfortably
Too bad about Jeter but I'm afraid you're right.
Good morning.
Same plans as always. Nothing really different or out of the ordinary.
The Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Route of the Black Diamond Express, John Wilkes and Maple Leaf.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cloudy 34 degrees. No snow. Going up to 38 today.
Today is an easy day. I have a small errand to run and a few chores to do. Then, I can relax and read the new issue of CTT. Lunch and a nap, will be nice.
Dining car has rolled in with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Thanks guys. It's for the better in the long run. I kinda saw this comming, so I had plan "B" planned out. I think I am going to build a small aptartment in the back room of my ware house. I have lived in alot worse.
the neat thing about it is I'll be 30 feet off the Norfolk Southern Pittsburg line, it sees about 40 Plus trains a day. mostly intermodal outa Philly , but once in a while some neat stuff goes by. Like a large radioactive container once. saw the circus train, and some times some NS vintage Varnish.
after a few years of saving, I'll get a new place
Idont have kids (just the 4 legged ones) as dumb as it sounds, thats going to be the worst part
work beckons
Ryan
Hi GUYZ,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUCKEYE!!!!!
It's about that time of the month?
of course I'm gonna put a new window in, but this will be the new view
I'll have to get used to that whistle at the grade crossing just up from this
Good Morning!
Woke up to 30 and a mix of ice and snow on the ground as I took the Dynamic Duo out for their walk. They were both good and resting now by the wood stove. The temp is up to 34 now and sunny. I will split some wood later. making progress in all of the big oak given to me courtesy of Sandy.
AF53, Ray, Non sleeping must run in your family. Doray and you have the same sleep pattern but lately to my advantage she has been up at night bidding on Depression Glass on Ebay. The account is in my name, so all of the packages come in my name and it is easy to slip the additional aquisitions in. The funny part is that she is finding stuff for me! BTW, no new packages here.
Kev: It is hard for me to put the snowblower away when there is snow on the ground. Probably next week I will and turn the outside water on and get the sprinklers going, weather permitting!
RT: I really enjoyed the Hudson Pics. Thanks for sharing.
Brutus, Jim, I know that it is tough when friends retire. When each one leaves a little something is never the same. I must have done something right when I was working, I am always getting calls and texts from the guys. It is the people you miss, not the job.
8n: Best wishes to the 100th birthday recipient. Sounds like you were tired after the trip. Glad your Mom is doing good and you had a safe trip.
Dennis: Good luck with the leg.
DougdaG: I would like to get out to see the museum. It is great what you do with the kids.
Ryan: Hang in there.
Everyone have a Great Day!
John
Laz: Don't worry, I will have Ray in shape for York. He should be exercising with that "Becks Cough Medicine" 12 ozs at a time and after 6 or so rounds he will be asleep.
Sunrise on a gorgeous snowscape, the first sun in several days. This past week was very busy and my Lionel projects have largely been on hold. However, I was able to reconstruct two of three cabooses in the works. This was possible after getting three "like new" postwar shells off of ebay. I now have quite a few cabooses.
Back to mixing paint for a few other renovations.
Good morning all,
Still snowy in SE Indiana. See what happens when you cut back on global warming!?!?!?! Ryan, sorry to hear the news. Hope things remain civil for you. Balanced the checkbook last night for excitement. Watched some of the "Voice" last night. Long drive into work yesterday. Shorter time today. More drama on that which I cannot talk about. So tired of it. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Temp is 35 and yes it's still cloudy. Some errands this morning then the afternoon will be mine...S.J.

Good morning from The North Bluff. Gray and hovering around freezing.
Dead beat last night so I slept through the Tardis ride. I still need SJ to explain the spring he was talking about or give me a part number for those K-Line ALCOs.
8N, WOW 100years old and going strong, I don’t know what to say? He is one tough bird.
V8Dennis, hope the leg gets better soon, being in pain is a pain.
AFRay, sorry about the sleep problems, Try another medication.
DougDG,that is good work you are doing for the children’s enjoyment. Pace yourself.
Jeffery, Take it easy and get you site taken care of.
Laz, I am having no problems with my conventional stuff. Well not as much as you are with boards. Keep your stick on the ice???
John I hear you but by now if it does snow it should be gone in a day or two. I need to use the bucket to fill some potholes in the drive and I will leave the quick disconnect on the plow for another month.
MikeC, for that which you can not talk about and that it may soon end.
Prairietype, we had a gorgeous snowscape yesterday morning but it is now melted away.
Ryan, when I was a kid we lived withing 250' of the EJ&E tracks and I could sleep right through the trains passing at night. You kind of get used to it.
RIJack, must be driving his pup all around the country again?
You guys have a safe day!

What was that? 3" of SNOHIZO, in what I what deem a nice weather event. Added a degree of difficulty with the Princess's doctor appointment, but otherwise, just looked pretty.
Youngest Princess was given the green to ditch the walker.
laz - I don't think Phil is . Better pump another 2 slugs into him to be on the safe side.
Bo - With your ACW knowledge, can you push me towards any sites with lots of RR images on same? Google search just too random with results.
Zero Export - Good luck with the reverse nuptials.
Buckeye ---> I just like cake.
Hudson#685"Becks Cough Medicine"
HudsonJohn - With the prescription's I'm on for this, maybe that would help. Couldn't hurt.
Good Mornin' Y'all From Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,
My apologies for mostly being MIA the past few weeks.
First, I was tied up with the loss of my son-in-law's dear and close, sweet Aunt whom I had known for a long time. Then came elderly family member issues with my MIL and FIL which required a trip to Illinois, but all is good there. Two days ago a very close friend of ours lost her Dad and then this morning her Mom, both were expected losses, God was merciful. What can you do or say other than to be supportive in any way you can and be there for her?
I am feeling somewhat helpless, not a feeling I take easily. I will try to keep up with things here as best I can.
Fife and MikeC......the medical news on your kids has been all positive, for which I am most thankful. Thank God for that.
Ryan, may you find peace, strength, and guidance to face the weighty matters that lay before you.
Wes, I am still thinking of you daily, and prayers continue for you and your children as you forge ahead.
for each of you who are facing obstacles that cut to the quick. My Dad always used to say that we grow to regret the things in life we did not do rather than the things we did do but failed at miserably. I don't want that to happen to me. Keep on punching, guys.
Gotta run. Later, gang. Carpe diem.
Jack
PS: Gotta run some trains to extricate myself from this funk.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
V8Vega Since I'm on Medicare thanks to the 50% of Americans who have a extreme desire to pay taxes this whole thing only cost me a $5. copay at the pharmacy.
I'm on Medicare too and I'll take it. I paid into it since it started. As for the co pay, sounds like Medicare Part D prescription drug benifit. We can thank W for that one.
Dennis, I do hope your leg is doing better.
Jack, welcome back. Condolences for all your trials and tribulations.

Lunch Break:
Doray went to open the store, so that is enough wood. Now to goof off and run some trains and then a trip to pick up some sheet metal and tires for my son's trailer. Then Antique Truck Club meeting and dinner.
Mike C: Continued prayers for your problem.
Jack: Prayers for your friend with her loss of her Mom and Dad. You are a good friend to just be there for her.
Fife: Good news for the Princess.
AF53, Ray: Get better for York!
The SUN is OUT and it just hit 50!!! What snow?
Have a Great Day!
Hudson, you as bad as me, make it look like your super busey then as soon as she leaves every thing comes to a screeching halt
Thanks again guys for good luck wishes. While it may or may not be esay sailing for a while, I can assure all of you one thing, I will be OK
thanks again
Hey Jack, Good to see your back. Sorry for all of the obstacles you have been up against. And I thought you were just playing with the doggie.
Fife, glad to hear the daughter is on the mend.
Trying to win a girder bridge on the bay. Got the snow plow off and the loader bucket back on. Now when all of the snow melts off the drive I can repair some potholes.
I see CTT has added a new and even more annoying pop up now to the site.
Good afternoon. Not a lot of activity today apparently.
Day is going pretty good. Plan on getting the nose of the P-38J done and getting it ready for the canopy. Will paint the metal details before adding it, and will then repaint the body from all of the body work done on it. Then it's decal and detail paint time!
Just a quick stop, going to be leaving for the Antique Truck Club meeting soon. Trying to decide what to order for dinner. The restaurant that we are meeting at has good food. In Rich's neck of the woods on Rt 130.
Ryan: That comes from working over 40 years for an electric company!
Kev: When I saw your posting about the wiring I had to laugh, because I know where you worked and it showed. Nice Job!
Have a Great Evening!
Evening all. Not a lot going on here today just another normal day at work. Relaxing now time to take it easy.
Still have a few ebay's wins coming in train wise. 2571( fort knox set from 1961) and 1451WS from 1949
Some super O middle connectors/buzz bars For just something odd I got a happy huff 'n' puff train set in ob ( wonder did they ever make straight track for that set. ) and a couple of cars. Have a good evening talk to you all later.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Hudson#685 Kev: When I saw your posting about the wiring I had to laugh, because I know where you worked and it showed. Nice Job! Yeah John. I learned by doing not reading like some. And have done more than some / most. I have had a belly full of engineers in my working life, and not the ones that run trains. Books only go so far. But hey I have never seen a greater bunch that think they are better than others and like to look down at those that picked them up from behind their backs.. Most can't even find the shop. I give credit to my grandfather on my mom's side for my problem for detail but love him for it. JMHO. I have trained some very good engineers in my time and they all had to know where the shop was and bend from the stupid books. Now with ProE stuff and all of the other computer based engineering programs. I think we are doomed. They will not be able to find the front door. I have a lot of true life stories but won't bother anyone with them. Where is The Chief??? Hope all is well. RT, Did you sell those Gargraves switches?? Sandra and I are going to go to Brunch tomorrow with a very good friend of mine from the working days. He is the best friend I ever had at work and is one heck of a guy. Not of the same race but better than most I worked with that were.

Oh yeah on the train front, I won the girder bridge I was bidding on. .
Got to cook dinner.
Temp is 39, still cloudy.
Global warming yea Humbug. We have been more than 10 degrees under average for most of March. We got some errands done this morning but I have done very little since then. Banilla will be ready for the thingy..S.J.
