Good Morning All,

Woke up to frost on the ground, but it is going to warm up nicely today.  It should be a quiet day.  Got some good scenery work done yesterday and today I am going to plant a few trees I have made up.  I'll need a few more trees to really complete the scene, however, they will have to wait until I'm back in the tree making mood.  Have a couple of other projects I want to work on/finish first.  Then more trees.

Kev, if you want to talk about doing scenery, I'd be glad to help.  I am by no means a "scenery expert", but have learned a little over the years working on the MARS.  I can at least help you get started.  Would be happy to do that!

Sounds like everybody is pretty busy with all kinds of things going on.  I'm envious of you guys getting to go to York.  I'd love to get the chance to go and hope to do so one of these times.  I can imagine that the excitement over the event steadily grows and then you are there with all of those people and trains!  It would be great to meet some of the folks here on the Pot as well.  That would be real fun!

Well, I've got to plant some trees and then hopefully get the track back in place.  The grand kids will be here this weekend and they will be disappointed if grand pa's railroad is not up and going!

Chief, enjoyed your illustrations about the Southerners from the different states.  Gave me a good laugh!

Talk to you all later.  Have a great day!  Bo Smile

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 50 today.  I will not say spring is here as the temps could still drop again.  Watched Arrow last night.  Long day at work again yesterday and long one today as well.  At least I have tomorrow off.  May get taxes done this weekend.  Just tired.  No beacon tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

88 - Ref to colic, Wifey says stick the baby on the dryer (not in Dunce), as the tumbling soothes.  A car ride works too.  Formula tends to be the problem (might wanna try soy).  Will go away in 3 months.  There are drops available.  Beer helps.  Wifey asked if I'm going to YORK after we move to WV. Duuuuhhh, I'll drive to Brent's, and he can tote me the rest of the way.  It's all about priorities.  Oh, and since you are thinking of moving again, check out some of the homes for sale around Winchester (especially around Cross Junction).  $ goes further, and VA treats you better.

Banks - Up to the part where I got "energized" while wrestin' with him, yeah, I was smiling.  Beware of coworkers with yellow handgrips.Lightning

Jeffery, that way up in Perry County.

LAZ, I was under the impression that people in Perry County just threw there trash out in the back yard.  Didnt know they went into harrisburg to do it.   It must be the New and one and only Red light in the whole county they recently put in at SR 11/15  LOL   Now the people from Perry know how to get to the burg

and evey one only thought this type of stuff happens BELOW the Mason Dixon line

I darn near fell off the sofa last night when she said what she said.  Unbelievable!

in his defense, it WAS hunting season.....  what a dope

another slow day at the office

My rear storage room, that we don't use, that was to be converted to living quarters, is considerably smaller than i remember it being. Sad

I though it was like 14 by 60, turns out its 9 by 40.  till ya put a bathroom and kitchenette in theres not much room left. Grumpy

we'll get something figured out

Good evening all,

Chief, glad you made it back from the wilds of Florida. AKA New York South.

Had a funny day yesterday.  Got a call from our financial advisor's office that he would like to see us.  It has been quite a while and the guy has moved to heck and gone from where we live.  So anyway, we figured that it must be something important if he wanted two older folks to brave the freeway traffic and all to come down and see him.  When we got there we were seated in his office and then he says "Nice to see you, what can I do for you?"  Huh?  He's the one who called me.  Anyway we had a productive visit and got a little advice but if it happens again, I want to know the purpose of the meeting before I drive to this place.

Ran some errands this morning and visited our friend's wife in the nursing home.  Going out to dinner with him tonight.

Did not run trains today.  Started off cool and then was hot by this afternoon.  Think I changed clothes about three times today.  Forcast is for showers on Easter Sunday and Monday.

MTH has my ailing E6 diesels at their place now so the ball is in their court.  Might be a while before they can fix it.  Understand they have a pretty good back log but I have plenty of trains to run.

later,

Ray

Fife - tell FifeWife thanks for the tips! I agree about priorities! Thumbs Up Our 7 year plan to be in and out of this place have been scraped and we are now on a 10 - 12 year plan. It all hinges on when I can sell the moneypit/slum in Pittsburgh. REALLY hoping the NG Processing Plant they are building 10 miles from it will help increase the property value and also help sell the 3 vacant properties within 100 feet of it. UGH - should have NEVER let the ex talk me into that place. Bang Head I would love to move to Winchester (would give them a couple more redders come November) Wink But TheQ is MD born and raised and getting her to move elsewhere would require me finding the perfect job/career in AZ! and since I have NO desire to Move West Young Man... we're staying in OMalleyland... SIGH

OMG the image of you tazed brings a smile to my face. Hope you are OK.

Ohayō,

It’s fairly warm this morning and partly cloudy.  I am going in to work a bit late due to my wife having to take the 9 y/o boy to the doctor today.  He woke up last night with some vomiting and diarrhea issues.  He probably caught a virus while we were at the clinic yesterday for his physical.  We have a Good Friday service at church this evening.

Dougdagrump – So far my experiences with coaching have been favorable.  However, our base’s youth sports baseball program is not a Little League program and has some different bylaws.  The program director just sent us the 9-10 y/o bylaws and I must say I am not pleased.  The rules are extremely lax.  The one that bothers me the most is that every player gets to bat every inning.  How dumb is that?  That rule makes sense for 5-6 y/o kids, but not at this age.  Why should I even encourage them to play tough defense and get three outs? SoapBox

SJ – I’m glad the Escape is working out so well.  I haven’t looked at new U.S. car offerings since we’ve been over here.  Does the Escape have a third row option?  What year Grand Marquis?  When I was growing up in the ‘80s, one of our neighbors had one and I thought it was a fancy car.  At one point my parents owned a ’79 Nova and a ’77 (I think) Grand Torino.  Those were cool cars, but I can only imagine how much gas they used.

Sayonara,

Joe

Joe my last new Marquis was an 89, a few years later they redesigned it into a different style. I didn't like it so my next car was a pickup. Now there's a change for you.

The Escape is considered a 5 passenger, no 3rd seat, just an open storage area.

Haven't heard any hootin-n-hollerin so I guess we can assume that Rich, Ray or John weren't the powerball winners in NJ. Sigh

Good Morning All!

Been with this cold for 8 days now and probably average about 3 hours of sleep a night Bang Head!

Can't wait for this to go away.

Dougnotagrump - You got that right. Did you hear about the guy who won the $38 million prize? I guess he'll have no excuse for paying the $29,000 in back child support now.

This might get me in trouble with some, but here goes. There should be a law that if you owe back taxes (or in this case child support) you're ineligible for a lottery winning.

Well, back to bed and maybe a few hours of sleep.

Good Morning all,

Off for the next four days. Looking forward to the relaxation from the dull drums of work. Got something's planned for the next couple of day. Today going to take the kids to the mall for the annual picture with the Easter Bunny, than some lunch at McDonalds. Saturday T=Ball practice, and yet another egg hunt at the house for my oldest son, and three of his friends. We are also going to be dying easter eggs. Sunday( Easter) breakfast at my parent, eggs, fruit, bacon, sausage, croissants, mamossa's, and for you Chief maybe even alittle GRITS!! Than it's off to the in laws for another egg hunt for my two boys, and nephew, and than dinner. Monday will be a restful day off before I go back to work, so all in all looks like its going to be a fun filled time. Hopefully the weather co-operates for everything.

RockIsland52- Thanks for the well wishes. We are getting there. Day by day!

Demay- It's a small world. I work with a guy the lives in Frackville, Pa, which I believe is not to far from where you grew up.

lion88roar- No worries there, baseball is really the only sport I like like that. I'll watch the rest; but the only team I care about is the Phillies. But looks like I am going to have to keep a close eye on the Yankees progress this year with all the Yank fans on here lol!!

railhead53- Your right. Told Chief I would try some Grits for breakfast on Sunday with the folks!

Can't wait for York to get here. First time there for me and my Dad. Going to be a good time. Hope everyone has a good day, and weekend. Happy Easter to all, and your families. Hope that bunny is good to you!!

Good morning. It's 53° with 100% humidity. Mostly cloudy now but it'll clear some later. The high will be 77°.

Well I feel more or less normal today. Still have some minor irritation in my left eye but my vision has cleared up a lot. I don't need sunglasses to look at the screen now. No particular plans for today. I may work on the layout later. I have the GP7's, GP35 and slug running this morning. I may switch them out later and bring in the four FP7's for a while. The decoder in the slug gave up the ghost last night so I had to change it out. The old one had pre-existing damage but it was good enough to run the motor when it was put in. Guess the damage finally became to much to bear. I just finished speed matching the slug this morning.

Hello all

Back up at work. We are collecting photons again. A quiet evening.

Was a fairly productive week off. Spent 5 of the 6 days pulling wrenches. Managed to get the head and timing belt back on my friend's Daewoo and then the transmission mount off so he could change the oil pan gasket. Got the new front bushings in the hardtop. Tried to help a guy at the house fix an ailing 2 stroke bicycle motor. And finally assembled the 3-spd bicycle I have been working on.

Came out very nice and is much nicer to ride around town than the mountain bike. Need to make a few more adjustments and then add the front brakes (has coaster brake in rear) and then install the baskets and chain guard. One of my roomates calls it the BumbleBob since it is black and yellow.

It is an old Murray frame w/ new Shimano 3-spd internal hub and rims.

Have all the cars in for my first attempt at recreating my first train set. Will try and post on that thread and SPF.

SPRay - I just can't imagine MTH being backlogged by broken locomotives...Stick out tongue

Kev - my address got messed up on the Brasseur's order, so the motor came to Tucson, went to Phoenix, and then back to Tucson and was delivered today. Hopefully to the correct address.

Fife - one of our cops was showing me the features of his taser tonight (no, he didn't use it on me) and I told him your story.

Ryan - hang in there buddy. I recently made a temporary living situation change. Has been a bit of an adjustment, but in the end it will be for the best.

Time to find a pillow soon.
