Yesterday was kind of a difficult one.  A former colleague, mentor and friend was shot and killed at his home in Colorado night before last.  He was a good guy and to learn of his tragic death was heartbreaking news.  Still difficult to accept.

Angel Prayers you, your friend, and your friend's family. That is just terrible.

Lion88roar - I hope the talk with your 19 mo. old went like you wanted and the issue is resolved.  If not, you may have to have a talk with the cat. Wink

The 'talk' actually did go over well. I asked Christina if she knew how she felt when she didn't get enough sleep, it took a little rewording for her to understand what I was asking and she eventually said 'Yes', asked if she liked feeling that way, 'No', and then I told her that is how Mommy and Daddy feel when they don't get enough sleep and I asked if she liked when Mommy and Daddy were cranky 'No', Do you like when Mommy and Daddy are happy? 'Yes', OK then it is important for YOU to go to sleep when we ask you to 'OK'. As soon as we got into as I asked her to lay down and go to sleep she did, no arguing. Of course we also turned off the TV and the lights so that may have helped too.

Just matching up EOBs with medical bills today. Looks like there are still three more bills on the way and then they will all be here. Guess I just got to knock them off one at a time. Man that sucks. Ick! They make it as hard as they can for the regular guy to understand. Super Angry

No train news today. Just messing with some Lionel switch problems.

DougM. / Brent, Thinking back a few days, I think it is against code to turn the locks around in a bedroom door.  If there is a fire the kids can't get out. Hmm But I sure understand why you want to lock them up some times. Laugh

I saw action on the Tardis last night but no one beamed me up. I must of been too early. Maybe tonight.

The wife starts spring break tomorrow so I will be under house arrest for a week +.

Have a good evening.

Update: V8Dennis, I just got paid for the last item from that old Briggs engine and I got right at $500.00 and change after fees and postage!!! Surprise  Who would of thought?? Now I can pay more medical bills. Dots - Sign

Like Steve Miller said in one of his songs,,, but in reverse,,, Your trash aint nothing but Cash! Laugh

Temp is 32, a very depressing weather day.

No special news today, I just goofed off around the house and kept my appointment with the couch. Granny baked some apples and the house smells good tonight. She just handed me a bowl of banilla and warm apples. Very tasty....S.J.

LV 2089 - very much enjoyed the video of the USN "Dauntless" Dive Bomber.  My only question after watching the video was, what would you do with a WWII Navy dive bomber?  Tongue Tied Trains look safer.  Glad you're feeling better.

Well you can't take an AC4400CW up to 30,000 feet, dive, and pull out while taking about 7 Gs, right? And I am feeling much better, thank you.

Felling really good right now. Strangely happy right now.

Happy anniversary to you and Pat, Chief

Now that's a talk that got results, Brent!
Kev, I agree about the reverse door-knobs, we never locked them. It just kept the kids from locking us out. Big Smile

Got the idea from SmmBob to build up a water scene on the layout, especially since Ivor's line ends or rather connects to the main line at a beachfront town. It'll be fun to start planning that.

Doug they do make interior door handles that are non locking at a very resonable price.

Chief poor pam for putting up with you for 27 years but congrats to the both of you.

The one I pitty is my wife donna it will be 29 the end of june for us. in fact it will be 29 on the 29th hmmm that has to be special some how.

Me and my fat fingers glad the ebay bidder befor me didn't bid that high lol I was biding on a 637 engine and tender along with a log dump that needs parts and a black depressed flat car and a caboose looks to be illuminated but I bet will need some tlc any how went to bid $156.00 and ended up winning because my fat fingers put in $1565.00 some how on the 6 I also hit the 5 again well I won it for like $201.48 but it also has like 24 pieces of Super O track ( no connector or uncoupler so will need that in the future if I decided to use it) also a LW transformer I think it is lol. Anyway I did okay engine looks good condition rust on tender draw bars on engine and tender  But rest look good. Will know more when I get it next week sometime.

Boy am I going to get killed lol.

John she likes to do it. normally she tells me what to get and then have me help tape and she tells me out so I can paint. I guess I'm just lucky I hate painting lol now outside of house is my job as its on a ladder lol.

Weather guesser says it'll be 55 tonight with a 20% chance of rain. Bit warmer than last night. I got a little more work done on the layout. Not as much as I would have liked. Today it was my own physical limitations that got in the way. My knee is still hurting and I couldn't keep my weight on it for long. After it was hurting bad enough that I just said the heck with it and stayed off my feet the rest of the day.

Well, time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Hey guys - been really sick - missed a day and a half-of work, fever, cold, the whole deal.  Char got it first and we are both just now getting over it.  The only one spared (so far) was our son!  Got my rail zeppelin in the mail - cool toy Thumbs Up  John was on last night and brought along tons of icecream and hot fudge sauce, so we better get working on this load because he is taking more with him when he goes to York and SJ is gonna bring some on the Tardis Smile  Nice chat with the guys tonight.  TTFN!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hello all

Back here in the Ol' Pueblo. Not much done today. Just catching up on sleep. Did pick up my first issue of ogr and the UP gondola today. More on the way.

Bo - sorry to hear about your friend

Brutus - hope ya feel better soon

Jeffrey - I did have to look up when they changed the engine displacementWink And I agree w/ you on the headlights. The switch from sealed beam units was not an improvement. Was just thinking I should find you a Corvair Spyder to put in Erza's garageStick out tongue

Chief - congrats!

Kev - Happy to see the 1615 at work! If the docksider were in SF markings I'd be temptedWink

Going to start putting back together my friend's Daewoo tomorrow. Hopefully we'll at least get the head back on, new timing belt installed, and then the right engine mount back in before my therapist beat's the crap out of me. That way my friend can pull the oil pan and clean out the 'daewoo goo' and change the gasket. Right now there is a jack under the oil pan keeping the engine from hitting the ground. Then we'll proceed to putting the rest back on.

My friend finished painting the bike frame this past week and it looks good. Hopefully I'll get to assemble it this weekend. Can't wait to have all the bike parts out of my 'cubicle' and have this bike w/ my baskets mounted on it so I can use it for running errands and stuff.

Konbanwa,

I believe spring is officially here as I no longer see any signs of cold weather.  Today’s high is around 75.  After I finished some schoolwork this morning, I started building the youngest a little outdoor playhouse.  It is nothing too fancy; I am building it out of the final pieces of leftover fence wood.  I would have been finished by now, but I ran out of screws.  I don’t have much planned for the rest of the day.

V8 – I have had some success when calling the cable company too.  Saving $5 is better than paying an extra $5; even it is only for a few months.

Chief – Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.

Bo – I’m sorry for the loss of your friend.  From what I read about him, he seemed to be doing many right things with the corrections system.

Doug – When I was a kid, Little League started in May and ran through the summer.  High school baseball started in late February or early March.

Hudson John – I have to be in Rhode Island in September and October this year.  Depending on the dates for York in October, maybe I could swing down there before I return to Japan.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good morning. It's 59° with 100% humidity. The high will be 75° and we might get wet today.

Hopefully I'll be able to work on the layout today with no interruptions. I have no additional plans except to stay dry.

Slid right in. RT, I eventually swapped out the doorknobs for non-locking ones. Nice purchase off the Bay. Good thing you all reminded me that my bride's birthday is in a few weeks. Morning.  Global Warming,  BULL S--T!!!!  Was in the high 20's this AM.  Going to 50 today.  Normal high is mid 60's.  Windy too.  Was real windy last night.  Suppose to be cold and some rain off and on for days. Crying

Thanks for the congrats.  Wifey and I went to new restaurant.  Had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten.  Taking the Mayors' Asssoc. there soon.

Getting things rounded up for a trip to the lake house.  Frankie coming up tomorrow early and we are doing maintenance on his boat.  I'm staying "days".  Maybe forget about our crazy Legislature.  Introduced a bill, you don't have to the a lawyer to be elected a judge.  Interesting.  Makeup your own law and use it as a judge.  Suits gelore.

Prayers for Fifey and Mike's daughters.

Good to see Jack back posting.  Think I have sent him enough "noresterners" for one year.

Have a good one.

PS: snowed at the lake house yesterday.  Even down close to us.  The farms down east got some too.  All ended up as dustings.  Roseyville didn't see any.

Buckeye, good luck with Dr's appointments.  Hope they are not REB Drs. Wink

Just popin in to say hi, I skimed the last few days of posts, hope to catch up tonight.  I have been busey and really sick.

It was all could do to get her at the airport yesterday.  I threw up so vionlently last night I pulled a musscle or some thing in my back.

Then I have to listen to her go on and on about the fact I did nothing while she was away.  I guess I am not entitled to some time off anymore.
