Good morning everyone.

Gut and throat hurt some today. Hopefully they will clear up before the day is out. Plan on doing more body work on the P-38J.

Hudson#685
Jake: Forget about working on the P-38. I would be working on Danette!

By the way, she doesn't seem like her normal self. She normally has more energy than she does right now. I don't know if it's just that's she's still tired from the trip, or if the thought of us being seniors in high school close to the end of another year (man, is it that time already?) is beginning to sink in, and it's hitting her hard. Sad

I know that it hit me hard. More than I care to admit. Embarrassed

Not quite. I can afford the repairs, what drives me nuts is their crazy service codes (need a special code reader) and their cryptic descriptions. Seems Matthew is enjoying Daycare Thumbs Up. He slept through the night again last night and is very happy when he comes home. Christina on the other hand is turning into a handful. The last two nights she hasn't wanted to sleep in her bed, and there isn't enough room in our queen sized bed for two adults, a 19mo, and a cat! Bang Head I really don't want to buy a king sized bed and I will NOT sleep in another bed from my wife... so a certain 19mo is going to have a talk with Daddy tonight. Whisper

Jeffrey - that VW might actually be able to get that trailer moving. They were actually rated @ 1 ton since 1963 and had some reduction boxes at the axle that really stepped the gearing down. I once moved a 1/2 ton of dirt inside my 65. We used to use my buddy's 63 at the shop to tow a two axle car trailer w/ another VW on itSurprise However you would not get that rig moving very fast and god help you if you stepped on the brakes too quickly. The Dodge is a much better choiceSmile, Wink & Grin

I'd have to say they'd have been in serious trouble trying to move that Airstream then. The bus in my photo was representative of a T1 probably made between 1955 and 1959 and cranked out around 40hp on a good day. I don't know what the gear ratio was but it couldn't have been good. One of our neighbors back in the early 70's had one in good condition and it was absolutely terrible at getting a heavy load moving. It did a lot better after they hitched two horses to the front.Laugh

Good morning. It's 48° with 93% humidity. The high will be 70°.

Well we got a lot of lightning, thunder and showers last night. Didn't sound like much wind though. Today I'm going to try cleaning up the layout some more. I almost have the extension cleared of clutter.

Hello all

Stayed up late, or early as the case may be, working on a certain docksider.

Kev - that smoke unit looks familiar

Jeffrey - given the front turn signals (63-67) and the fact that it had wraparound rear windows (last year was 63), I'd say that's most likely a 1963 versionStick out tongue That would make it a 1500cc w/ a whopping increase to 50HPSurprise Yes, I know more about these than I would care to admit.

Time to pack up and get out of here.

I bow to your superior knowledge.Bow I was going on what little I know of them. Kev: I know what you mean on the headlight thing. On my last car changing the high beam lights meant pushing the top of the radiator back or getting a severely cramped wrist. Changing the front turn signal bulbs was a PITA even if you knew how to do it. There was a spring catch you had to pull out from the rear. A hooked piece of clothes hanger wire was great for this. Gettin g the spring catch to turn loose was easy. Getting it back where it needed to go, not so easy. I like my old van much better. Take out some screws to remove the front trim and everything is right there. Four screws per headlight. Take out four screws to drop the turn signal assembly and it all went back together just as easily. All the front lights could be changed out within an hour and that includes the time to remove and put back everything. Now changing out ONE headlight bulb on my mothers G6, that was fun! NOT!! That involves getting into a lot of small spaces.

Hello all,

Chuck got us again on Monday. 6 inches of heavy wet Snohio. Most of it was gone by last evening. Today is sunny, windy in the mid 30’s

Thanks for all the prayers for Mom. She seems back to normal.

Bo………..there are several of us who post only once or twice a week, some even less.

RE VW Buses............ My uncle had one for years. He made at least two trips from New Mexico to central PA in it. He often bragged "If you get close enough to the back of an 18 wheeler you can take your foot off the gas" To hear him tell it he'd travel for hours like that.

Best get back to the SS Fund

HAHAHA  head lights....  heres MY story

on my 06 GMC 2500, it looks impossible to relamp them.   Looks like you have to tear down half the engine to do it., In fact I was ready to tear into it....  thank goodness it was a rainey day, or I would have had the whole front end taken apart.

So I took it to the dealer, and wallllla,   two pins pull out and the WHOLE headlamp assembly drops out the FRONT... dont even need any SoapBox TOOLS!!!!!........   a 155.00 dollar lesson in head lamp replacement...Bang Head    and, BTW a pack of two head lamp bulbs is 6.55  Sigh

I know I will be stepping in "IT" with you and others, but I just wanted to give my opinion. I don't be leave in paying taxes in advance. The government get to use your money and pays you nothing!

I think it should hurt  when tax time comes so you realize just how much money you are paying. To often I hear "I get money back" as if they didn't pay any tax. Just myMy 2 Cents

Taxes? What taxes? I haven't paid any in years. Of course I haven't had any taxable income in years either. That could have something to do with it.

Well a box came today from boxcar bill so I put tmcc and railsounds into the Weaver SD-40-2 today and added coil couplers to one of my GP-9 NYC's that didn't have them so that was how I spent the afternoon seeing Every time I wanted to check something out had to go up on ladder to get to the shelf layout as its only thing working right now.

Now wife wants me to do a little spackling so she can paint this week end mine isn't going to happen this weekend need to much clearing and spackling to get there

Nice Hudson RT. Now I want one. Laugh

I spent most of the day going to Menards and getting elect supplies to pull power to the north table transformer shelf from the south side. I want everything to work off of one on-off switch. Well $46.00 later I got it done.It took 46' of 14-2 with ground to get it there but now Lexi has total control of Thomas. Surprise

I sold the last of the FH parts and still have one drag D&*k that has not paid from a sale 3 days ago.. Tongue Tied

I got a shot of the 1615 running as I was working on the wiring today. It ran for 2 hours without a glitch. A lot better than the Dockside ever did.  Hmm

Bob, Make me an offer I can't refuse. Laugh

Prayers for all in need! Angel

Have a good night guys and gals.
