Morning.  Slept very good.  Fell asleep watching TV, woke up, posted good night and went right to bed.  This time, got room temp a lot lower which helped me sleep.

Shower and pack up.  Go to the store around 10 [opens late on Sundays].  Stay until about 4 unless things are dragging.

Foggy outside per TV weather peson.  43 degrees.

Have a great week.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 30s.  It was a very good day as we went to watch grandson play basketball.  He could not throw it in the ocean today, but was ripping down almost every rebound to be had.  Rest of the team took up the scoring slack and scored a 26-14 victory.  Took grandson and daughter out to eat (Son-in-law had some National Guard stuff to do) and then went a Half Price Book Outlet and then Sam's Club and then to daughter's place.  She is moving and looking better, but still has a ways to go.  Stopped off at Barnes and Noble and got a new book on Calvin Coolidge.  On the way home, stopped at a JC Penney to spend a $10 gift card.  Came home and finished the puzzle we started last night.  It was a good day.

As far as Danica and Indycar and NASCAR are concerned, Danica was very popular when she first came to Indy.  The roar when she took the lead at Indy was an event I will never forget.  Something happened along the way.  She threw her team under the bus on more than one occasion, and her behavior on several occasions was highly inappropriate.  Also, her performance was less than stellar for the equipment she had.  I have nothing against women driving in races.  Any one who has read my comments over the years knows I am a huge fan for Sarah Fisher and Simona de Silvestro.  What IndyCar failed to do was develop other "stars" besides Danica.  They let all the attention focus on her and when she left, there is no one else who commands the attention of the media, and they have not developed many American names for people to follow.  When IndyCar was big, there were several stars with rivalries to boot:  Foyt, Unser, Andretti, Rutherford, Johncock were all big names.  The biggest mistake IndyCar ever made was separating the Dirt tracks from the rest of the series.  That allowed all the rear engine drivers (mostly overseas) to take over the series.  Then IndyCar split in 1996, giving NASCAR the opening it needed to expand nationwide.  NASCAR has overexpanded and the economy tanked.  Now both series are hurting.  It will be most interesting to see how the next few years turn out.

TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

This morning I said I would probably get a phone call before I could do much of anything and that's what happened. My father called wanting me to come help him work on a push lawn mower that hadn't been started in four years. The spark plug was dirty, the magneto was rusty, the carb had water in it, the flywheel brake was locked up and the throttle cable was rusty. It took close to three hours work but we got it running like a champ. After that I just wanted to rest for a while. I came back home and squeezed a Life-Like motor into the Atlas GP40. It now runs a lot better than it did yesterday. No cleanup work on the layout today.

It's time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Tonight's photo taken with the Nippon CardCam 300 VGA camera.

Good evening. Made an unexpected trip to Elmira. Unfortunately, Lantz's wasn't open today, so I went to Hobby Lobby. Got my foot in the door as far as WW2 aircraft models with the purchase of an O scale P-38J Lightning. In case you don't know what one looks like, here is a picture from Fine Art America.

Nothing exciting today, I did see the big wreck a couple times on the news. Where did whats her name finish? Banilla will be waiting for the thingy chat so climb aboard and we lite the fuse...S.J.

John, wall papering isn't that bad,  this wall paper we choose was a log look, so you had to hang it horizontally  It looks great, got one side done (were only doing the exterior walls)  gonna do another tomorrow, then that's it until the other 3 rolls show up. I'll get a pic later

Kev, you had me there for a second.......   guess I'm one of the sick minded people.... LOL

Haven't seen the three and half legged cat yet today.

gonna head back to the basement for some more run time in a bit

In the room.  Do not stand there all day and night like I use too.  Getting too old.  Rest a while and then may go to Ruby Tuesdays [25% discount coupon came with room, I got $5 off wings last night by showing key card] and eat salad bar.

See the news saying big wreck at Daytona and 17 fans hurt.  Saw video sevearl times.  Hard to believe that cars can be torn apart and drivers not hurt.  Speaks well for NASCAR and the car builders.

Bought two leaf suits and the turkey hunting vest with drop down padded waterproof seat.  Use both varmit hunting too.  Other suit is for Frankie as he crawls around in the woods doing drug survailence.

All those in the path of the snow storms, stay dry and warm.

Later.

Well my new (to me) Atlas FP7 hasn't come yet. The delivery estimate said between the 19th and 27th. With my luck it'll come on the 28th. Oh well, I have enough to keep me busy.

45 and raining in Beautiful Bayville, NJ.

A nice easy day today. Doray is at the Ice Cream Shop, so it is doing Boxcar inventory and run the trains.

Won a 3472 Operating Milk Car w/platform for opening bid on Ebay. I am going to use it on the layout that I am building at Mom's. I call it the "Amboy Line". I spend Thursday with her, doing upkeep and keeping her company, and I stay over. I bring over trains and components that need servicing/repairs and I do them there. It brings a smile to her and we remenice. I keep teasing her about the Christmas present 59 years ago that started all of this.

Joey D: Good luck with the Marathon and Class.

Jack: Congrats to Pam and Maximus.

Kev: Looks like you may have lucked out with Wifey's car.

SPMan, Ray, Prayers for your friends. Long term health ins. is a tough decision. We are doing that now.

Ryan: The trick to installing wallpaper and keep your sanity and your relationship with your wife.  HIRE SOMEBODY!!!! It was worth  every penny.

Chief: Enjoy the wings and Bass Pro.

AF53, Ray, The package is here.

Enjoy the day!

The new LIONEL R-T-R catalog was kinda fun to page through.

Wifey is gonna want the Gingerbread train, and the Silver Bells gondola.YesYesYesYes

The PRR General set is handsome, and I like the profile of the coaches.

The Lone Ranger General is ok, but I really wished they hadn't "boogered" the engine up with the masks, and the tender trucks have modern roller-bearing sideframes. Dead  Kills it for me.

Fife,

It was fun to look at. I liked the BNSF Maxi Stack set the best, The MLB Subway set is nice. I liked the New Haven breakman car, and the Freight platform 6-37167.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Damp and 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region, with gloom-und-doom pending from the banks of the Potomac, where I can swear I see Nero fiddling...

Banks - We see those outside boilers all over the Potomac Highlands.  Wifey won't have one.

jonadel - More like, if it weren't for Go Daddy she wouldn't have a ride.

LawsonFarms - Danica understands Daytona, so if she is on the lead lad, I wouldn't be surprised with a top 5 finish.  After Las Vegas (Race #3), it will be Danica Who?

My My 2 Cents; nothing more.

Gonna have to check out this new PRR General.  Saw the Lincoln Train by LIONEL.  $,$$$.$$=that's not happening here.

Good morning,

Cloudy and in the high 20s.

This afternoon the wife and I are going to a sex party……Surprise…..NO not the kind of sex party you perverts are thinking about.  Sad  This is a party where everyone will be told what sex the daughter’s new baby will be.  Smile

Banks it sounds like coal is a good deal for you. I remember the huge hopper and auger set up we had in the basement when I was a kid. I loved to play in the coal bin. The folks did not like it. Mischief

Jon, you got to have known my dad.  Whistling

Good morning. It's 43° with 1`00% humidity. The high will be 65°.

Started off this morning with a blood sugar reading of 57. Not the best for sure. I had to get that up before I did anything else. So chili for breakfast! That's right. Chili. While it's low in sugar it's about 25 grams of fat and around 10 grams of protein. It brings my blood sugar up in a hurry, way faster than glucose tabs. I'm back up in a 'normal' range now and feeling much better.

Plans for today, clean up on the layout I guess. It was already a disaster area and working on the FP7 and GP40 didn't improve it any. Of course that's assuming I get a chance to do more than pick up a few items before the confounded phone rings!

Well now it's time to take my morning meds. Hope everyone has a better day than I've been having so far.

Nice chat with SJ and Charlie tonight.  The new Lionel catalog looks good - love all the remote control stuff!  Just a lazy day - had a late start at work anyway and Char couldn't get out to go, so just took the day off.  Ice ice Baby!  TARDIS is ready and we have the Banilla!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

High 20's today.  Even saw a little bit of sun.

My youngest drove here from Ky. yesterday.  Got here about 1am.  Not bad for driving through that storm.  He said that he saw a car off the road about every 5 miles - some of them he recognized as ones that had passed him.

He shoveled our walks and most of the neighbors walks today.  Said that he kind of missed the snow.

Funny thing is, the city has not run a plow down our road yet, but somebody has run one doen the alley behind my house.

All fon now.

good evening,

I had a great night running trains and working in the shop. I got out my new to me MTH Pennsylvania FM Trainmaster I Traded for last weekend.  I really like it and want another or three

I also smoked out the entire basement. Good stuff

We had a three and a half legged cat show up at the house tonight. It was all beat up and was starving looking.  So like a sucker, I fed it. I was almost able to pet it.

He / she was at one time a large cat as its head is huge.

bed time is a calling ,  I might run down and run a few more loops real quick,

Hello All

Back from frying fish. 640 was the count tonight, Pretty good considering the weather which was sleet and freezing rain. Any untreated surface was a sheet of ice. Had a soak in the hot tub and now savoring a glass of wine before joining Mrs in bed

Chief...... You need some fried pickles to go with the wings Smile, Wink & Grin

Demay.....good luck in the marathon.

Jeffry..........good work

Laz & Fife........stop in more often

Who is Danica?????

Kev.....both soft and hard coal are still in use here in central PA. Although a small piece of the pie. There are mines less than an hour from here and several coal yards within 20 minutes. My hand fired boiler was bought new by me in 1981. I had about $2,500  in buying it and installation (all labor by me including 1000 bricks for the flu) I bought hand fired as opposed to stoker because work was unsteady for me then. I reasoned that if I couldn't afford coal ($30.00 per ton then) I could always cut wood which the stoker wouldn't accept. My $110.00 ton of coal I bought last evening will last me 4 to 5 weeks and save me about 150 or 200 gallons of $3.89 per gallon oil. My oil boiler is still in place and will automatically maintain the heat when the fire is low. Since 1981 I've used +/- 400 gallons of oil. I am considering a switch to an outdoor boiler which could also heat the garage/workshop.

HEYYYYYYYYYyy has any body heard from Wes???????????

I'm getting tuckered out and head'n t bed

Prayers for those in need
