Konnichiwa,

Wow, I’ve never been one of the first ones to post before, but it does make sense since I’m in the future.

I’m about to leave the office for the day and have a few minutes to post now.  I had a quick six-mile run this morning in some nice, cold air.  It was about 26 when I started my run.  It warmed up during the day to about 50.  I had a fairly easy day at work today which was a nice change to the past few Friday and I’m actually going home about an hour early.  The wife and I have dinner date tonight but we haven’t decided where we’re going yet.

Bob – Please send me some of that snow.

Brent – Welcome back.  Have a safe trip to FL and I hope all goes well with the birth.

Bo – I have a friend, who has to have ketchup on everything he eats, and I mean everything – it makes me Ick! thinking about it.

Brutus – I’m sorry to hear about the wife’s work situation.  Hopefully things will change and it won’t be the whole 21 weeks.

Prayers go out to Peggy and the rest of us in need.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good morning.

Bo: Here in Towanda, mustard goes on mac & cheese. Sandwiches get dunked in the mayo or ranch. Ew.

Nothing to report other than that there are going to be a lot of snow squals during the day and rest of week.

Well, it is early and cold today (about 4 degrees) and still dark outside.

Spent a lot of time yesterday trying to make one good 200 series motor out of parts.  I just can't get any combination to run.  I hook everything up and almost instantly it begins to smoke.  It's no big deal because I don't have any real stake in making these run. It's just baffling when everything seems to be in place (and I have hade success before with the same type of overhauls and fix-ups) and the darned thing won't run.

I did have success fixing a late model Lionel switcher (the CNW) that had a roller melt off.  I was able to successfully heat weld a custom crafted piece of plastic into the base frame after cutting, shaping and fitting. The roller remounted and the unit runs fine. Hopefully, this time, the locomotive won't be left on the mall layout derailed and short circuited,  It was pretty fortunate that I was able to make this repair and it seems to be holding.  Plastic is tricky to work with (especially controlled melting of pieces together).

Well, by the time I finished this message it is obviously going to be a pretty sunny morn, very red in the east now.

Good morning every one.   Just cant believe its February allready.

Happy Birthday RT,

Jeff how do you know when someones birthday is?  is that a moderator only perk? or am I just not looking hard enough around the site.

Thinking about diving in and suscribing to CTT to unlock the rest of the site.  I usually get it free at my LHS if I buy a bunch of stuff, and its a good exscuse to go there every month.

I am goning to safely say we are about half way through winter here. February can be pretty rough here, and March goes either way.  After April 1st were out the water

Looking like I'm gonna be short on fire wood this year, so back into the woods we will go.  (I have 3 - 5 cord cut and split but not covered... Bang Head  so thats next years pile

we usually burn about 8 cord a heating season.

and when theres no fire wood theres no heat at the house.

every one have a good day

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a cold 14 degrees. Going up to 30 today. We got about an inch of snow last night. More tomorrow.

Today is a very busy day. I have an errand to run and the usual chores to do. Wife is grocery shopping. We will be busy until lunchtime.  Then, a nice nap will be appreciated.

Buckeye & LAZ ....  TGIF

Buckeye is in NC.  Temperature is 41 degrees. Too warm to snow. He will go thru Roseyville in an armored car.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Good morning. It's 44° with 83% humidity. The high will be 58°.

Getting ready for my mothers memorial service this morning. Just taking a short time out to post this. I also have to get paying the bills out of the way today and get the first half of the groceries. I might be able to get some layout work in later. Well that's all for now.

Good morning all, it's sunny, but very cold - it's February!

RT - Happy Birthday!  Happy B-Day

JD - Glad to read that the tests went so well - that is big news!

AF53 - do hope your wife's sister is recovering well from her surgery!

Brutus - very sorry to read about the wife's job!  Do hope things get back on track after the 21 weeks.

Kev - I do think you are going to enjoy doing scenery.  I hate paying the bills, but your right, it's the first of the month!  Hmm

Joe - I don't need ketchup on everything, but I do like it on steak, freis and some other fried foods.

Can't remeber what else was going on.  I hope those not feeling well will be back in the saddle soon.  Going to spend the bulk of the day working on the railroad.  Have a Great day everyone!  Bo  Smile

Well I am back from dropping off the bills at the post office and a trip to Farm & Fleet for 6 bags of softener salt, cat food, bird suit, and TP. Broke already. I guess it is going to be a long month. Tongue Tied
Already up to a whopping 3 degrees with bright sun. Gas has gone up to $3.49.9 and just two weeks ago I got it for $299.9 WTH?? Angry
I think I am going to hook up the track today and run the thing for a few days just to see if I like it. I have made temporary bridges so it can run.  Confused

DJ, Great news for Tyler!!!  Cool

BOC. Get well soon you don’t need this. Angel

John, Good for your daughter. Nothing better than breaking ground for a new house. We have been lucky and got to twice. I loved the planning and design work the best. Watching a vision come to life is cool. Yes

Bob, we had a bunch of those small Daewoos running around inside the plants for the maintenance guys.

Jeffery enjoy you day with friends and family. Wink

Bo, Scenery will come as money permits. I am going to take it slow on this side. Shy

Joe seeing your in the future,,,,,got any stock market tips?  Smile, Wink & Grin

Prairytype, I have one of those ALCO motors that will not run. I figured it was in the windings. Sad

Brutus, Sorry about Char's job. I know what you mean about things getting tight at times. It will pass. Wink

Banks, That train show sounds like a fun time with the grandkids. Smile

Ryan, THE MOVIE STAR! Now the pot is complete.  Bow

Prayers for all in need.Angel

I guess I will head down stairs.

Um... Jeffrey you forgot to apply Buckeye Math. This would mean that RT's birthday falls on the first of EVERY month.

---
REALLY, almost impossible, to concentrate at work today...

Fife - looks like I'm missing another trainshow, but this time it is for a worthy cause, and hopefully in due time we'll be able to do a railfanning day with the kiddos!

Kev - there was an explosion/fire at a refinery in Toledo yesterday that is causing the sharp rise in gas prices... at least that is what the media is claiming. Funny how it takes < 24 hours for the price to go up after an issue, but it takes > 6 months for it to normalize... Whistling

Brutus - That sucks about Char's job. A few friends have been laidoff because of it as well. But HEY DC had a $400million surplus - but they are saving it for later and not giving it back to the people who need it. Super Angry

Well I'm off to try and be productive so I can line Chief's, SJ's, Chuck, and Kev's pockets. SurpriseWinkTongue Tied

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the teens.  Mixed bag of news everywhere.  On the plus side, welcome back to Brent!  Some good events possibly occurring on that which I cannot talk about.  Found a shop in the nearby mall that had a Buffy calendar (had not had one for a couple of years), and they also sell LEGO and other toys I can get for grandkids and myself.  Wish I had been there before Christmas.  Bad news is younger daughter may need some gall bladder work done.  Not too sure if she has gall stones or a bad gall bladder or both.   They may be able to operate today, but they have to run tests.  Could be an interesting weekend or next week.  TBIL and I can drive again.  Brutus, sorry to hear about Char's work, but I thought the sequesters had been avoided with the last budget deal.  Maybe I missed something.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
