Gooooooooood afternoon. Finally found some time to get on.
Anyway, no work tonight, so I can rest some. Video for video editing coming along well. Just need to do some final edits before exporting and showing it.

Good morning all,
Got a new puzzler, problem with DCS MTH engine. Yesterday, I accessed it with the DCS handheld controller and pressed the start up button. OK so far. The engine powered up and the sound system was working. I also checked the horn and coupler features which both worked. Then I tried to scroll the wheel to start the engine but it would not move. Same thing in reverse. Tried doing a feature reset but no change. I suspect that it might be a low battery issue. Have to take the shell off and see what kind of battery is in it. This is one of the earlier engines ACL E6 diesel so it might have the old style battery. If so I have a charger for that. If it is the newer type, I will have to get a charger because the old one is not compatible.
Got a form from the doctor yesterday in the mail to get a blood test prior to my next visit on 3-5-13. On the section where the doctor writes reason for test he included Chronic Kidney Disease. I don't know if I already have it or if it means they are testing to see if I do. He never said anything about it on my last visit recently. This is upsetting but better wait until I talk to the doc and not jump to conclusions.
Our irregular train group is getting together for lunch today. First time since one of the guys lost his wife.
Got to run,

Aloha. Grey, sleet-y. Supposed to be all day. Lots to do today - beginning with recording all the upcoming Six Nations rugby games. Nice photos of the new addition, Brent. Congratulations! Great news about Tyler's trip. DJ. That's a fine looking tractor, Jeffrey.

Good morning. It's 58° with 97% humidity and patchy fog. It'll be cloudy with a high of 72°.Not a lot on my schedule today unless somebody changes it. The layout is in dire need of a cleanup but I just haven't gotten to it. I've figured out all the little things on the new video camera. I have video resolution set 720p (1080p is max, QVGA is min) and still photo resolution is set 5 mp (8 mp is max, QVGA is min). It weighs 3.4 ounces, records to an SD card (up to 32 gb), it has macro mode, lens aperture - F/2.8. The zoom is 4.0x digital zoom. The internal software though is pretty lame and the buttons are hard to use. Y\I have to be really careful with them. Some joker decided it should be blue (purple passion but looks blue to me) with gray characters. Both colors that I have trouble seeing. The AV interface is composite audio/video and HDMI. The unit is about as big as a deck of playing cards.

Temp is 31. We are in the 6 inch snow range, based on the past I can figure about 8 inches. I have some errands to run then the rest of the day is mine to be lazy as usual...S.J.

Good Morning Everyone, 24 and overcast Down the Jersey Shore. We are on th weatherman's "Undecided Line" for the snow. This is the time that I get concerned. But since the snowblower is running and I have plenty of gas the snow will probably miss us. The best part is that I am retired and am missing all of the fun with the "Storm Preperation Conference Calls".
Brent: Congrats on Matthew.
DJ: That sounds like a Great Trip to Atlantis.
Mike C.: Prayers for your daughter.
John F.: When Mom is done with the treatments, I will be heading to do some volunteer work also.
Kev: Layout is looking good!
Jeffrey / Ryan: The manual is somebody else's idea how it should work. We know better!
Jim T: Bummer about the ZW.
SJ: Stock up on the Banilla for the snow in. We were promised Lemon for York.
Brutus, Jim, Congrats on finally getting the Key. I bet you are as happy as you were at York when you bought it. Now it can run!
RI Jack: Be careful with the snow coming.
Have a Great Day!
John
Morning all. Off to a lunch meeting. Last from 11:30 to 2. Clouding up and rain later today and tonight. Off to the lake house tomorrow and maybe whole weekend. More dock stuff.

Plan for the day is see if Jim is here next door and rip the plywood for the back wall on the layout addition.
Chief, yeah were all experts here on the CTT forums.
Bob, go for it man.
Brent, congrats on the little guy.
Yous guys in the northeast better get ready, Chuck has you in his sites.

Kev, From The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL.
Since it has been raining heavily I think I'll stay home today.
I spent yesterday woking on the mall layout. I wired a circuit for the voltage plugs on about six switches and tried to find out what the deal was with another electrical problem. I think I know where the problem is and that will be my task next time (probably tomorrow morning).
Since we're only open Thursday and Friday nights and all day Saturday and Sunday we sometimes encounter dissappointed customers, A lady dropped in yesterday and mentioned that whenever she brings her grandson by on weekdays, we are closed. So I invited them to come by on Friday morning.
And today, I have train projects to work on in the basement.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is 27 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 44 today with no snow.
Today is a busy day. Wife has an errand to run after I get home from running my errand. Then, chores to do and finish a project. Then I can enjoy lunch and a nice nap.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Konbanwa,
Today was a fairly busy day as I had a lot of paperwork to finish at work. The wife made homemade pizza tonight. It was especially good because she topped it with roasted vegetables in addition to the pepperoni. She also made a sugar free cake. I was skeptical of it at first but somehow she made it taste great. All the snow we received yesterday is now gone – the rain took care of it.
Kev – The new elevated sections looks great. Thanks for sharing the videos.
Jim T. – I’m sorry to hear about the water damage. Thankfully it wasn’t worse.
SJ – Just have Chuck redirect the snow cannon again.
Jeffrey – I’m glad the video camera went to someone who can use it for our hobby. I did not care for Photobucket’s new format and switched back to the original version.
Congratulations Brent!
Sayonara,
Joe
Good Mornin' Y'all From Snowmageddon,
Chuck!!!!!!! Ya got the snowcannon coordinates wrong!!!!
Snow-hizo is supposed to start tomorrow morning and continue for 36 hours. The current forecast has me at ground zero for 18" to 24" of the white stuff.
I hope to beat the frenzied crazies and do some grocery shopping and a couple other out and about chores this morning. Then fire up the snowblower to make sure preparations are complete.
Later, gang.
Hello all
Back at the house. Same roomates so that's something.
Did my good deed for the day. Coming into Benson on I-10 around 6:30 I came up on a truck running w/o lights. 80K pounds of truck. After passing and seeing that he was running w/o any lights at all, I backed down to the cab and blinked my lights. He got my drift and his lights came on. Prob a bit zoned out from being on the road. Driven trucks like this before and it is a lot of responsibility so I try to help when I can.
Tomorrow may be the only day to paint the bike this time off. More rain in the forecast. Will prob be doing front end work in the drizzle

Wow Chief - what the heck happened with that woman?
Jeff - nice tractor and nice vid
JimT - sorry about the ZW, that sucks man.
Mike - prayers continue and I'll drive tonight, you take it easy!
Great news on Tyler - wow! Sounds like it will be a fantastic trip!
Well, I finally found a key that fits my Hornby loco I got at York last April. It's funny, because the key cost as much as the locomotive! Hornby MO locomotive made back in the 30s, still runs really well - lasts quit a long time Banilla and rootbeer is on me tonight, boys - beacons on!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evening all. Back from the farms. No hunting. Time ran out. When we got there this AM. Filled feeders, put in new batteries in feeders and cameras. Changed out SD cards in cameras. Ate lunch. Friend Fred worked on his shooting lanes for a stand he has. I rode around with the farm guy looking at changes to do to land and old buildings. By the time we finished, one of his men had taken a trackhoe and destroyed an old barn and two big trees and piled them to burn. Put up new posted signs. Fred thought that small metal posts and signs would work. What the "redneck boys" didn't pull up, the wind got. New 4X4's cemented in the ground will make a difference. Lots of deer and turkeys on trail cameras I down loaded when I got home.
Turning cooler and windy. Green field behind the house has a line of deer crossing it when I went out with the dogs. They didn't like my coyote locator hawl mouth call.
KEV, I have seen posts saying you can not slant curved tracks. I use to have sections of curved slanted or sloped track when I had my first layout and it was 027 tublar. Used it to help with high speeds in curves. Also added some straights or half straights when possible to help with curves. Go for it.
Off to bed. Sleep tight.
PS: just saw this.

jeffrey-wimberly I got a JVC video camera today. Model GC-FM1. I got it for a good price. F-R-E-E. My father was going through some of my mothers things this morning when he found it. Still in the box and never been used. She bought it years ago to use when she went on her next vacation. That vacation never came and it sat in a drawer of her desk forgotten. I looked it over and told him I'd like to have it. After a few seconds it was mine. I brought it home and charged it while I read the manual. Pretty simple and straightforward. I then recorded a short video with it and uploaded it to Photobucket. Here is that video.

Jeff, nice tractor, In RE to the owners manual, I need a part for my log splitter a while back, and for the first time,I opened the sealed baggie that contained the manual . Just for fun, I read the safety pages, and realized that I HAVE VIOLATED every safety aspect of the machine, and I mean ALL of them.
KEV, make sure you hook the breathalyzer up in reverse, so your always sure to be in the proper state of mind for ALL operations
I just skimmed the posts, I was out on the road all day picking up scrap from my clients,i am tired and sore. I'm sure some more of ya have things worthy of reply, I'll catch up on all this tomorrow.

RedfireS197 Today has been one of those days here. I came down to the basement before work this morning to find a ZW and RW sitting in water thanks to a leaking pipe. At this point, the ZW looks like it's done due to internal damage from the water. The RW doesn't bother me, but this particular ZW has been in the family since it was new.

JimmyT, I posted a suggestion on your other thread,
Pat,
Chief, The Red squirrels were beating up on the Gray squirrels today and it is 46 degrees and sunny so I thought I would help out the grays. Three shots from 70 yards, two kills. I hate wasting 22LR shells. I guess the one was just a little too close to the tree I grazed. I took the kills to the neighbor's for coyote bait. Retirement if a good thing.
