So much for a quiet night. Looks like we have storms moving up from southeast Texas. Looks like it could get noisy.

strong to severe thunderstorms developing over southeast Texas and eastern portions of central Louisiana will move northeast at 20 mph. Rainfall rates up to an inch an hour will be possible in and around Kirbyville and eventually Newton as well as Marksville and Opelousas. Small hail, gusts to 40 mph, and frequent lightning will be possible with these storms.

Happy B-Day to Banks and Fifepup.

Rich,

Sorry to hear about the job, but at least they had the decency to call.  Most either don't call, or they send a letter or email way after the fact.

Got the 2245 Texas Special F3s in today, and they need nothing aside from eight portholes and the eunit lever tightened. Thumbs Up  Minor battery damage isolated to the bottom of the frame, and they run great.

Used some of the money I've made to order another Airaid intake for the Mustang like the one I sold to fund the Ford Racing intake.  It'll work fine with the stock tune, so no mail order tuning flunkies required. Thumbs Up  Made sure to order from Summit.  That way, I don't have to deal with my former "friends" in Malvern.Angry

Hello all

Today was not a good day.

One of those days where everything seems to go wrong at once. Some days you can just laugh at it, but not today. It's pretty clear that things are wearing on me.

Got to do some serious thinking this weekend.

Bob,

I too know what you mean, been there done that, as I am sure all of us have to go through one time or another.  When it really gets to me, all I need to do is take a drive out in the desert and does't take long and I realize all my major problems and issues, arn't too significant after all.  The massiveness of the desert seems to put it all in perspective for me.

Good Luck!  Just don't give up.

Konbanwa,

I slept in this morning and did not make it to the gym.  I received my annual flu vaccination yesterday.  Instead of giving me a shot this year, the medical technician gave me the nasal spray version.  This was the first time I received it in that form and today I was feeling a little under the weather.  I’ve never had this issue with the shot.  Work was busy again, but after next Thursday it will calm back down.  We had roast chick and vegetables for dinner.  It tasted great but I didn’t have much of an appetite.  The Yankees won last night but so did the Orioles.

Doug – I’m sorry to hear about Rudy’s situation.  I hope the kids take the news alright.

V8 – I have traditional sized trains as well.  I like the way 1/48 and 1/50 scale vehicles look with my trains.  I can sometimes find 1/50 scale cars at dollar stores (Dollar General, etc.), pharmacies (Rite Aid, CVS, etc.), and thrift stores.  They are usually not name brand and may have some unique designs, but they work fine for me.

Fife – Congratulations to your son.  I’ll be praying for you. Surprise

Rich – I’m sorry you didn’t get the job.

BOC – Enjoy the bonus.

Bob – I hope you’re able to find the answers you need.

I’ll pray for all of us in need, especially Chris, SP Ray’s wife’s friend, and Jeffrey’s mom.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good morning. It's 69° with 100% humidity. There's a fair chance of rain. The high will be 88°.

Storms passed through last night. Not much rain but a lot of noise. Looks like we may get some rain today. I really don't feel like working on the layout today. There are no projects to work on so I just don't see the point. I have a Bowser Roadrailer kit but that would take all of about twenty minutes to put together. What then? I have nothing to use it with. It's just one of those things I have for possible trading material. No news on my mothers condition. In that respect no news is good news.

It is a cold 48 degrees. Going up to 84 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping and I have a few chores to do. I want to work on a project until lunchtime. Then, I can relax and take a nap. Not much else new.

Aloha. A little cloudy here. Sox lost to the TIges again. Good football game on TV tonight though. Telling each kid - and my FiL who really loves him - about the dog, then will take care of it later today.

Joe, I hope you feel better. I wonder if it's related to the nasal spray. I get my shot in a month.
Rich, I'm sorry about that job - enjoy the convention!
DonB, that's good advice - for me!
Bob, I hope today goes better.

Morning all.  Still early fall weather here.  Missed a meeting in Raleigh.  No email notification nor agenda as usual.  Chair is slipping [which has become a norm].  Hair cut later this AM [Sir. J, eat your heart out Wink].

Yankees let the Boston Bums slide by them late in the game. Crying

Bob, always gets better.

Shake and Bake is always a problem. Whistling BTW: think they might work.  Been to busy to work on that.

Bob, Hang in there man, I think all of us know what it is like to be thrown under the bus. My last few years on the job the young guns were doing all they could to mess with us old guys. Helped me decide to go.

Hi Charlie.

Don B for me it is the woods that seems to put it all in perspective.  We don't have a desert  close.

Joe, I was just thinking about getting my  flu vaccination when I got up today. I have always had the shot. Hope you feel better soon.

Jeffery, No news is good news.

DougM, Best of luck today it is hard to do what you need to do but you need to end the suffering for Rudy. It was a hard day when I had to do the same for Lacy, she was just weeks shy of 16 years old. Sad

SJ, you are the sneaky type. Smile, Wink & Grin

Chief, I see you must have hired the flag pole job out. It looks to be straight. Laugh Yes

On the toy train front,

I got two sets of # 65 yard lights yesterday. 6-12927 off FleaBay called them NIB, Well they were in the box but far from new, 1996 and two of them have bad bulbs. Bang Head Guess I will be placing an order with Jeff the train tender.

I also got a package of landscape stuff for free,(shipping only) from a guy and in it was a bunch of coal for trains I will never use. If any of you want some coal just let me know.

V8 I use a lot of 1/50th & 1/48th diecast on my layout and it fits well like Joe said.

Also when I go shopping I carry a figure with me to see if something looks like the right scale. We call her Scale Gale. Don't leave home without her. Whistling  I have found many things will fit but don't have a scale listing on them.

Good Mornin' Y'all from Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,

Looks like Fall is here.  While it is early, the trees show the slight color changes due to the heat and drought from earlier this Summer.  More than normal amount of leaves on the ground.  The temps will hit 80 again today and tomorrow with things cooling off for the weekend, may not hit 70.  The Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile virus scare seems to be winding down.  I think some of the mosquitoes are flying South for the Winter. Wink  Tested the furnace out yesterday, both zones, and all seems to be in good working order.

Chief.....The Box and landscaping is looking pretty sharp from the outside, and the American flag is a nice touch. Thumbs Up

DougM......was thinking of your Rudy last night when I was out with Maximus for last call. Sad

Rich......I was sorry to read that the job opprtunity did not work out.in your favor.  One will, hang in there.  Have a good time at the NJ Firemen's convention this weekend.  Can we expect some photos of you in the Wildwood surf sporting your speedo?

Jeffrey.........you should be shopping on the net for your Dad's next mower.  He needs a nudge, distracted, worried about your Mom.  At least the Docs are out in front of things this time.Angel   Hang in there.

Bob.....I had a good chat with the wife last night while driving up to New Hampshire for dog training.  She was lit up over an incident at work (different day, same discouraging and anger-inducing outcome).  I asked her if her company benefits included covered access to a bail bondsman, got her laughing.  One's family, health, personal life, and sanity are far more important than some knucklehead and situation at work, which she will soon forget, only to replaced by another.

JoeyD......are you sure your feeling under the weather isn't stress caused by the Yankees? Whistling  I watched the end of the game last night and didn't like the lineup the Red Sox had on the field, no names while the high priced players are either injured, gone, or are drowning in mediocrity.  The fans here are besides themselves, and football seems like the only worthy distraction. Bang Head

KEV.......had to laugh at your comment you don't live near the desert.  Bet your lawn and tree condition may have you rethinking that one.  My father-in-law just North of you  is convinced over half his lawn is history.

Brent.......you and Fife are spoiled.  The overachieving Os and Ravens have to make you smile.Thumbs Up

Later, gang.

RIJack, I was thinking the same thing after this summer. Tongue Tied

I just got back from Wallgreens about 9 miles away where I got my Flu shot. So I went to KFC and got lunch. When I was coming down the lane on the way home I hear the brake squeakers on my front brakes squeaking meaning the pads are getting low. Walgreens is right next to AutoZoneBang Head  Bang Head  Bang Head Guess I will pull the wheel off and take a look. Only 23,000 miles on these pads?

Howdy All.

Been a while but I've been around, busy with museum stuff and club board business. BP and heart rate been down a bit so it seems to take forever to regain some spent energy, about time to go see primary and cadio docs anyway so we shall see.

Congrats to Fifepup, condolences to Fife. Smile, Wink & Grin

Brought back some memories of teaching my daughter to drive, at least I was successful in that endeavor. However one lesson for the "better half" was all I could handle, following lessons were delegated to others. Whistling Current driving skills, no comment Zip it!.

Front yard renovation in full gear, green green grass is gone gone gone. Being replaced by some Key Stone Block retaining walls and decorative rock and gravel. What little greenery that remains will have drip style irrigation to further reduce watering costs. The best result will be reducing someone's stress when it comes to me out in the yard.

Had a heck of a lightening show the other day but no rain to speak of, you would have to run around in it just to get damp. We did lose power a couple times, never fails the power comes back on you work your way around the house resetting everything then off again. Bang Head

Belated Happy B-Day to Banks.

Thoughts and prayers for all our friends and families in need.

Later all, gotta try to get moving.
