This is what can happen when Matte Finish 'whites out' due to high humidity. Note the KO&G car behind the L&A car.

I was able to do some weathering today. The Matte Finish as acting a little strange but not much.
Good morning toy train affectionados...
Damp here and trying to rain. Jeffrey - doing my best to hold it here.
Kev - looks like Thanksgivng came early to your house.
Chief - Jack - the advantage to those FEMA trailers is the level of formaldehyde ensures an elevated level of self pickling
I now have three gold crowns on the left side molars - told my son I was working around towards the front until I have a complete gold grill - he just groaned. What kind of reaction was that?
LAZ - just like my HS senior son - you are counting down.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Aloha . Sunny and cool - love to see the sun! Glad you are taking care of yourself, Chief. Cleaning around the house today. FiL for dinner tonight. Little niece continues to recover nicely at home

Well the idea of using dry transfers to renumber the KO&G cars didn't pan out. I've had these transfers since the late 80's and they just crumbled as they were applied. So instead I printed some random sets of numbers starting with 2525 on ordinary white paper, some in 8 point arial, others in 6 point arial. When applied they look like black numbers painted on white planks attached to the sides of the cars. I'm sure the KO&G never numbered cars in this way but seeing as the KO&G never had reefers in the first place why should I be accurate. It works for me and that's all I need it to do. Car numbers are 2525, 2626, 2529, 2527, 2625.

Another bright sunny day Laz, Some of the neighbors came by for breakfast, See below. Mom ma is still sleeping and the cat is back inside. Nothing much going on but going to get groceries later. Banks, I had to get Ins approval before they started on this crown. They will only pay 50% of the cheapest crown known to man so I will be picking up the lion’s share of this one. The dentist quoted me at $970.00 for this porcelain over gold crown. I will be stuck for about $600.00 of that.

Sorry about the sprinkles Roy.
Jack I was reading somewhere that they took those toxic temp trailers left over from Katrina and sold them off for southern train layout boxes and doghouses. The ones that did not sell were dismantled and the parts were used for southern medical supplies. E.g. southern bypass surgery. They wanted to keep the money they spent in the southern states.
In my case they used the traditional lidocaine local anesthesia two needles full in the jaw. It is my understanding that Jeffery would not dispense any of the Eagles Nest moonshine above the M.D. line. It may have been better.
SP Ray, Good news on your friend and sad to hear about the other one.
Buckeye I want an invite to the Cabela’s grand opening if Chief is going to be there.
Joe, I guess if you want winter this year you have to go to Europe.
Jeffery send that stuff to Roy.
Later,
Kev.

Good morning. It's 53° with thunderstorms. The high is projected to be 58° with more thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Chance of rain 100%.Today's weather brings to mind that old Morton salt line, when it rains, it pours. And man, it's pouring this morning. On the radar map Vernon parish is buried under a sea of yellow, red and orange with some little black splotches for variety. Rather like some cooking I came across in Europe some decades ago. Beets and onions, with potatoes and beer for variety! Throwing in even a small slice of meat improved it immensely. I don't think I'll be getting much done today. The storms are coming through one after the other and show no sign of letting up soon. I may be able to get some cars renumbered but weathering may be problematic as the humidity could make the Matte Finish do strange and not so wonderful things. Due to the storms I'll probably have to shut my computer down.
36 degrees and cloudy as usual.
A nice chat with some of the guys last night. Biscuits and sausage gravy being prepped in the kitchen...Everybody start getting better, we are over the hill now and heading for March...S.J.

Hi GUYZ,
WOW nice morning here at 30 but going to hit 50. Took my MINNIE DOG to the woods yesterday for a nice two miler. She was into chasing the squirrels. Almost had a few but cant climb trees. Ran trains last nite for 2hrs. Had a READING RAMBLE going on with all Reading T1s on the tree tracks. Real cool and NO PILE UPs.

BUCKEYE, CABELAS in ROGERS CORNERS? Hope it doesn't change the elevation of 936 feet? I just started to begin to memorize that elevation. But of course when the CHIEF is in town that elevation goes up to 943 feet.
Stay frosty,
laz57
Morning. Seems it is extra warm today. Temps dropping tomorrow and the Yankee snow cannon will be firing at us by dark and into the night. Nice thing is REB camp fires will keep it so warm it will melt as soon as it hits the ground. We will be back into the 50's by afternoon Monday. Yanks lose again. Pat, you might get more than anyone of our REB gang.
Off to fill the deer feeders. Not much happening until the Sweetheart Ball tonight.
Yanks, suffer with your cold and snowy times. It has been the kindness of our REB hearts to give you an extra warm mild winter.
Jack, stainless steel non-corrosive piping.
Later.

Konbanwa,
It snowed overnight and we had a nice accumulation on the grassy areas but nothing accumulated on the roads. I spent some time this morning playing with the kids and then we ran errands this afternoon. We ate dinner at the food court in one of the local malls we frequent. The mall food courts here are not like the ones in the States. They do have a KFC, but other than that, the food is always great. We like this one place which serves pepper steak, rice, and vegetables. They serve it to you raw in a skillet that is so hot that the meat cooks as you walk to your table. I actually had beef and noodles with vegetables and squid and eggplant tempura for my dinner. It was great. It is time for bed now.
Kev - We don't get nearly as much snow as I would like. It is mostly flurries which don't amount to much on the ground.
SP Ray - I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.
I’ll pray for all of us need, especially those who are ailing.
Sayonara,
Joe

Good evening to the West Coast and hello to the East,
Been so busy today that I'm just getting around to catching up on the coffee pot. I spent about one and a half hours in the eye doctor's office this morning for check up. Only saw him for 5 minutes. Rest of time was waiting. Anyway, I'm good for another year.
Went to visit my friend who is recovering from heart surgery and picked up my WBB 10 wheeler which he had customized for me and lettered for ACL before he had the heart attack. He is doing well and the engine turned out beautifully. He is grounded for about a month though as far as driving and he tires very easily. Our visit today only lasted about 15 minutes and he was all done.
Got some sad news today about the passing of an old friend of mine up in Washington State. He had suffered for a long time with diabetes and kidney failure. Just learned today that he died over a week ago so no chance to attend any funeral etc. Don't know any details but respect whatever his family did. I will pray for him and his family. He and I belonged to the same model railroad club back in the 60's and went on many railfan trips together. He was a great guy and I will miss him. R.I.P
Chief, doggone it, there you go again with that darn pneumonia. Please take care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers. No surprise why you are feeling better. That nana pudding works everytime. In. the South if a person is sick, you send fried chicken and potato salad. If they are bad off you include a banana pudding. Get well soon.
Betime so have to sign off,
Ray

KEV..........did you go for the traditional lidocaine local anesthesia for a dental procedure this long? Or did you use the super duper whole body numbing stuff, the Eagles Nest moonshine Jeffrey brought back from his covert sabotage mission to Roseyville?
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
ChiefEagles .......Only good part was the lunch [fried shrimp, fried fish, fried chicken, pork bar-be-que, potato salad, cole slaw and good ole nanna pudding]. jeffrey-wimberly: Chief: One bowl of my chili will fix you right up, if it doesn't burn the bottom out of the bowl first. Now that is right up my line. Love spicy chilli.

Two questions to Dennis regarding Reb surgical procedures. First, in bypass surgery, do the cardiac surgeons in the South use pvc pipe with a cleanout instead of the standard dacron arterial graphs? Second, what kind of ventillation do they use in the operating room in the event the patient ate Jeffrey's chili the night before the procedure? These are fair questions based on what I read here.
jeffrey-wimberly ......... I expect some heavy stiff to come through later but I plan to be asleep before then. I'll see y'all tomorrow.

Jeffrey......that would be Roy. Lock down your trains....
Went home and then had to leave. MIL's birthday. Came back to start Blue Bloods but went to sleep. DVR'd it as well as on Demand. Like the DVR version as fast forward through commercials. Watch tomorrow.
Meds taken. Off to bed. Nothing until 7 tomorrow night.
Sleep tight.
Evening all!
Cool here and no rain (so Kev no lake help here). They keep predicting rain and then it only sprinkles. The rain keeps going Jeffrey's way and I think he is full up.
Chief - please be careful with the Pneumonia
Traindood - I think LAZ is already RIP (retired in place)
Kev - good news about the foot?
David - you should know now in the south we make up the rules to suit the situation!
Have a great day tomorrow all!
Storms are passing through the western part of the state at this time. It's not too bad here but south of below DeRidder there are places that are really catching it. I expect some heavy stiff to come through later but I plan to be asleep before then. I'll see y'all tomorrow.
Good evening everybody. Been betting a bad cold while taking in this meeting. Slept the afternoon away and then caught up with my family by the pool. Went out for dinner tonight, great seafood down here! We are heading back tomorrow and from what I hear about the weather, it should be interesting as there is a big storm heading our way.
Chief, you take care of yourself. We will be lifting you up in prayer as well as a few others from here.
Well, my next venture will be taking me to a research facility in Denver, Colorado. Talk about one extreme to the opposite extreme. I have to evaluate some items before we put them into practice. With any luck, we can push it back till the temps are a tad warmer up that way.
Well, I had better medicate and hit the sheets. Colin, no joke, stay away from train hoppin, been a few Recent deaths from folks trying to do it. I am sure you are smarter than that, but may be some checking the threads that need to hear.
God bless,
Dennis

Kevin friends are friends but I would not take your place in that dentist chair. The white stuff is all gone for now. One of granny's niece came today and helped her do some cleaning that she is still not able to do. Yes I politely stayed out of the way...S.J.
Hello all
No coffee tonight, on the way to bed. The grandkids will be here at 6:30 AM
Sub bob, Bummer about your new job.
KRM, I've got to do the same thing as soon as there is an insurance determination. (I'll end up paying if they don't)

Chief...Get Well Soon....BUT be forewarned...all I have to do is make a call to Lakehurst-McGuire-Dix joint command and we'll have some Tomcats and A-7's make a visit....Hudson John know what I'm talking about....and just in case, that Nike base that's SUPPOSED to be deactivated...it really isn't...
Talk about a long day at work.....yikes!!! Long weekend makes for a LOOONG day of work. I'm happy to be doing it.
Colin - Yeah, I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the PRR Heritage paint scheme. My Grandfather and Great Grandfather both worked on the PRR, so it's in the blood.
Jeff - good to see your doing better
Kev - Good Luck on the teeth....
Sub Bob & Charlie - Nice Vids...love the clockwork!
David - Good Luck on your "promotion". Just like I tell my daughter, just do your best and it'll all be good.
The Princess was felling a bit down Wednesday, so we went a-malling and she purchased a dress then off to see The Decendants with George Clooney (who I dislike). It was an ok movie, but it was Princess' choice, so I stayed awake..
Coming home, the clutch cable broke - surprise!!! - so I've been doing the clutchless boogie. I swapped out for the Daddy Wagon until the new cable comes in via USPS Priority.
Was up to 55 today and partly cloudy skies. Harley weather, but I was working.
Buckeye - YIKES!!!!!

ChiefEagles Well, didn't die. Town retreat is always a good test of resistance. Only good part was the lunch [fried shrimp, fried fish, fried chicken, pork bar-be-que, potato salad, cole slaw and good ole nanna pudding]. Another bad thing was it was 65 degrees and sunny with no wind outside. Couped up in a room of politicians and staff. And it was like 108 in there From all the hot air in there. David, great defense. Still does work for a Yankee below the M&D. Headed home.
