Thanks! Not many to post, these are my Dad's set that I obtained from him recently to now be part of my collection. It was the set I first started playing with at my Grandparents house that finally lead to Mom & Dad buying a set for me to have at home.

Jack, Don't second guess yourself, you were there for him when the chips were down. Prayers going out for the both of you tonite.
Good day at the museum today, albeit a long one. When we gat home after making a stop for a prescription refill not sure who was more tired, me or the better half. She has been a real trooper in going with me just to make sure I can make it home, I know she hates to cook so maybe she doesn't want to take a chance on loosing the chef. I can truly say that Thanksgiving and Christmas were really extra special to me this year.
The surf has really been huge down at the coast, Ocean Beach has seen regular sets of 15ft with some going to 18ft. Really beatin' the bejeebers out of the piers.
Now that is really going to be a crew at York this year. As the senior member SJ will have to set a good example for his youthful traveling partners.
The better half finished off the lunch leftovers for dinner, I opted for a bowl of Cheerios. To pooped to cook.
Don, One of your fellow club members paid us a visit for awhile today, unfortunately short term memory fails me name wise.

Late good night [actually good morning]. Busy day. Buddy Fred came with his Land Rover andwe winched up several big stumps [apple tree the tornado layed over and others we cut at that time to get rid off]. Loaded them on the pickup and hauled to the woods. Filled the holes left with soil. Later this afternoon we went fox hunting at the pond. Nothing again. Used the Fox Pro and the Cass Creek. Guess they packed up and left as they remembered the ones we killed last year. Said, this place is too dangerous to live.
Came home and reclinerized. Woke up about an hour a go. Had to wipe down rifle and store equipment.
Jack, prayers for your Buddy. You did a great job with him. He knows he has you as "family". Hang in there.
Guy coming to get ready to move the box. Survey the situation tomorrow. Hope to move it first of next week.
Sleep tight.

Jack - prayers for you and your friend! You were really lucky, RT!
Man, it was really nice out today. Looking forward to York, sure it will be a blast! Boss said no problem for the days off, so it's cool with Char and my work boss both
Jeffrey - looks like a nice engine. Did you change the couplers so it would work with your other cars?
Laz - I have a problem parting it on top
Mike - I read everything, but it's all too much to answer. I love the pics that Darren is posting of those tinplate cars for instance. I really appreciate all the fun everyone is having and posting about. What a great hobby. Hope Rich finds a job soon and Jim gets his car(s) under control, too. So much more! God bless us all.
TARDIS is ready - let's go guys!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evening Guys,
Jack, Sorry buddy but I can't agree with you. I don't think you should have been more dominant in that situation. You most likely would have ended up with a "meddling" label, and could have become "less of a friend". Then when you find out you are listed as his primary responder, that even puts more pressure on you. I don't mean to preach, but it is so fortunate that you were there for him! He is a lucky man! Hope his recovery is quick and thorough.
Doug, Most likely was Mike, he lives in Seal Beach and has a grandson in Dana Point. So it ends up to be close to the same distance to either Sandy Eggo or San Pedro.
Should have a fun weekend coming up. Going to help Kay get booth set up Saturday, then I plan on high tailing it off to a train show in Anahiem. Have to work at Knotts on Sunday.
The car situation isn't improving very quickly. Got Buick back in the shop for the intermittent dying problem, and had a new alarm system installed in the El Camino this pm.
Envious of all you guys planning for York this Spring, sure it will be ANOTHER fun filled trip.
Time to call it for the day.
Best to ALL, and special intentions for Jack and neighbor.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a mild 53 degrees. Going up to 62 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have the usual chores to do and then I want to work in the train room. Need to clean and organize. Running trains.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Fair and 32 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Wrestled a lower radiator hose on yesterday...only took 2+ hours. I've been a real grump.
Morning crew not a lot going on this am. have to do grocery shopping with the wife today but that will be later. Turned oven on to heat up so can cook some biscuits. may do a little baking this am just to do it. Been a while and would like to make some bread from scratch. Get the feel of it again.
Not much else going on this am. Will talk to you all later have a good one.

88 - Did that Thursday. He was attentive, but still, at 6 weeks... Tom is coming over tonight for some "rail", so hopefully he'll snap me out of it. I asked him to lend me his GM50, as I think it would make a nice cover photo.
I think part of my problem is envying the sir james lifestyle. He's becoming the Jimmy Buffet of retirees.

Good Morning
37 now w/sun
I smell turkey roasting, We had 3 of them so we invited my cousin to dinner. With ground beef at $2.50 +, 49 cents a pound for turkey(before Thanksgiving) suits me. On Monday reg. gas was $3.23, yesterday it was $3.55. We are being ripped good, esp. since the US oil company's are Exporting gas and oil to other countries were they can get more money. OK enough, the weekend is here enjoy....S.J.
Hmm I just noticed, we have a real Friday the 13th this month.

Hi! Hit 70 degrees yesterday. Got to try out my new RC Speedboat in the pool. Works great but it is much harder to control than running my trains on fixed tracks. Have a great weekend. (NY Jints over Atlanta on Sunday? We'll see!)
Konbanwa,
We had a pleasant Saturday. I completed a bunch of small chores around the house and ran a few errands. I also won three restored pre-war cars today with SJ's help. I should receive them in about three weeks and I am very excited about owning my first pre-war items. It's almost midnight and I need to complete some schoolwork.
Jack - I'll pray for you and your friend.

Good morning. It's 57 and foggy. The high will be 72 and it will be cloudy with a 20% to 40% chance of rain depending on which weather guesser you listen to. Radar shows some clouds moving in from southeast Texas.Well I counted up my vehicle castings this morning. I have eighteen individual vehicle castings, one junkyard casting with five vehicles on it, two truck cargo boxes and one steel liquid storage tank. I should be able to make quite a junkyard from that. If I can get enough uninterrupted time today I might be able to get the five vehicle junkyard scene painted. As soon as I can get into town (probably not today) I have to make a bank deposit. Getting my meds cost quite a bit and though the deposit is small every little bit helps. I haven't heard anything yet on the results of the tests the doc had done so I'll have to call Monday to get that information.
Morning team!

Thank you all for your continued prayers for my buddy who is still in very tough shape.
Yesterday was not a good day for him in CCU for the heart and neuro issues. He had gone downhill overnight Thursday following admission and yesterday morning they had to sedate him enough to make him sleep for the entire day. He was under constant "surveillance" with a medical attendant in the room at all times. Scheduled MR test was cancelled for the day and respiratiry therapists were brought into the mix to mitigate his chest congestion and ease his breathing..
I spent most of the afternoon with him and then went back last night for another stint. In between, I went to his house to see if I could find a phone directory (no luck) that might help me contact his next of kin. Also, with the help of two on the CCU staff, we went through his cell phone directory to see if there were any contacts in there that might help us find a blood family member. No luck there yet either, but I'll keep trying. Something will pop.
The wifey and I will be off to visit him again, just waiting to hear from the attending nurse as to his current condition before we head out. I'd hate for him to rejoin us and think he has been alone all this time; but I am certain the staff will inform him I was in the room with him for several hours yesterday, giving him a non-stop verbal ration of doo doo over his choices. Aggravation can be therapeutic.
I want to also thank you all for your moral support. My point is simply this. If one is to err in the most serious of situations, one should do so on the side of the coin that will do the most good for our friends and loved ones. Politeness and deference are good, shorter term approaches. But over the long haul, I feel firm and direct is the better choice, even if it fails, which is what I wish I had done. That is water over the spillway now.
Please keep my buddy Frank in your prayers. Twenty years ago I might not have said this; but as I have aged, I have come to believe that all is definitely not in the hands of the medical professionals.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
KRM Jeffery is that a 67 Ford cop car in the rear? Sweet
Nice tinplate items you have there.
RockIsland ---> Got your back.
KRM - Used to be a hose replacement could be done in 15 minutes with a flat head. Now, you must first secure the over-flow tube. Remove the tower strut. Remove the battery. Remove the airdam. Go back to PepBoys because you ordered the upper hose.
And don't even get me started on those circular tension clamps that fly off a pair of Channel Locks at Mach 1!
Afternoon all. Working on moving the box Thursday. Friend Fred and I will remove old deck, skirting and other attachments so guy can pull her away. He actually towed it to the site it is on now and set it up. I was working for the guy who built it on a half double wide frame. Guy sent out of moving business and he took over his equipment and went into his own business. Got to bolt the axles under [he had originally removed them]. Tongue is there but has to be bolted on. Deal is I remove all connections and he will still move and set up at original price he quoted. Plan now is to move it Thursday. He will do all in one day.

Not this year. All funds going to the box and builting layout inside. Probably the cost of the wire to run from garage [it has 100 AMP service] to the box is about the same as a York trip.
Got to run. Going to Miss Edna's for a pass through. Picking up cashiers check for Mayors' Assoc. Former VP closed the account. New VP [me] opening it with another bank. He lives in the same town as Miss Edna.
Then to Verizon. They are upgrading my phone. Funny how the right person makes things flow down hill. Manager begging me to get with him aftter weeks of him putting me off.
Jack, still upholding you and buddy in prayer.
Later.
Good morning all,
Jack continue for your buddy. Hang in there.
Chief, a new train room sounds better than a trip to York this time.
D.Baker, thought about Anaheim show but TTOS Southwestern is closer for me in Arcadia on Sunday. Might have gone to Anaheim today but that would be one meet too many for me this weekend.

Right NO fifedog,
On my 2001 Dakota you have to removethe front bumber to take out the radiator. On my daughters Tarurs you have to remove the whole front of the car between the front fenders. They call it a module. They make them to build NOT FIX. I could go on and on.

So many roads, so little time.
Good Evening
43 and cloudy.
The turkey dinner is just a memory now but the smells linger..Aaa. Plus we had a nice visit with my cousin and his wife. Not worried about York grits, still got my anti grits badge to protect me. I will pass on the Banilla tonight but it will be ready for the thingy trip..S.J.
evening all not a lot going on tonight did get my flash drive and downloaded all my docs will call them in the morning for the final stage of this opperation I hope I can get some of the down loaded programs back lol I should be able to.
Happy Saturday...
Pulsar is working well, all paperwork done and now legal for me to drive.
Started the day going to a credit union to make a shared deposit and withdrawal/transfer to my FLA CU. Since my license shows a PO Box and 1 credit union shows a street address I couldn't complete the transaction...I can thank the Federal Imperial Government for new rules for "privacy", which is crap since I had mail from credit unions with the addresses with me. Not sure what to do next...
Dropped off the old plates and documentation to the old owner and put 50 miles on today. T-Tops were off for the majority of the day temps were in the high 60's.
Helped one of my neighbors de-Christmas-ize her house, had a fire call (I was inside command) and did food shopping. Had enough time to put 26 miles on the Harley toward sunset.
Jack - You did what you could....which was probabaly saved his life. for Frank and you.
A BIG THANK YOU to RT...your package came today and believe me brightened up my day completely. I wasn't pleased about the credit union deal and your gift really made me smile. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! You're a great guy Bill....and I appreciate it! I'll post some pics tomorrow!
Princess and her BF made dinner tonight and she's cleaning her room now...prepping for her sojourn to FLA USA.
I'll check back later...watching the Devils and Penguins at Petes burg tonight....
PS: TrainDaddy....GO GIANTS!!

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 50. Several good peices of news to report. Finished up work yesterday with NO case reports left in my IN file (a rare circumstance at best and never the first of the month as I am usually buried in paperwork). Went to YMCA to do my usual walk/run and towards the end of the workout one of the four high school kids playing basketball on the floor below looked up and said, "Hi, Mike. I play soccer." Needless to say, I could not see who it was from my vantage point, but that brought a smile to my face for the recognition. Found out open gym starts next Wednesday. Woo-hoo! Last bit of good news for Friday came from in the form of a "dopey grin" email from my Norwegian soccer friend who had all sorts of good news for me about her life. Saturday was most excellent as I went to the WGH show in Indy. Got to bend the ear of some Lionel and MTH people. Scored some good bargains at the show and picked all sorts of information as well. Went to Train Express and got a Halloween set and a Polar Express car. So far it has been a good start to 2012. I had the regular fare on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East" and "Points West". Not too sure if I should ask here or start a separate thread, but wife and I are considering an Amtrak trip out west. Does anybody have any experiences they would like to share, good, bad, or indifferent? RI52, thanks for the update on your friend. Thoughts and prayers going out to all concerned. TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
