Mornin' boys. Sunny & 47 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to have several days of nice weather, so I'll probably put out the Christmas lights. Also, need to start sprucing up the bank layout, mainly adding gloss medium to the river bed. My boys had a great time at the game last night. Sounds like a hot time was had at cnw1995-dom. Dinner was not without a little drama at our gathering last night as well. Although I didn't feel I ate a lot, I could feel the button on my Levi straight legs heating up like an ICBM in a Kansas silo.
I loathe Friday. It should be called selfish Friday.
Roy - #34 had some good runs last night.
Good morning. It's 48°F and sunny. The high will be 69°F and there will be low clouds. There's a possibility of a thunderstorm after midnight.I don't really know what I'll be doing today. There are several cars that need some weathering and there's always some cleanup work to be done. I'm expecting a package to arrive any day now and I have no idea what's in it.Thanksgiving dinner was at my sisters place yesterday. It was a full house. Several of our area fire fighters and their families were in attendance and my niece and nephew had some friends there. After dinner it seemed that every place that could be used for a nap was occupied. I've never been able to understand that napping after eating turkey. I've never had a need to sleep after eating a big turkey dinner. I guess I'm one of the few people it doesn't effect.

Good Morning
43 now, 50s later.
Sounds like Doug M had a pretty traditional thanksgiving. I had enough to eat but did not overdo. I missed the Tardis ride last night, kept ZZZ while trying to watch TV. Gave in and went to bed early....S.J.

Happy Black Friday!
Went to the Post Office and UPS this morning. Lots of crazies out there. Speed limits - what speed limits. i wasn't about to go to any of the big box stores.
S.J., I missed the Tardis last nite as well. I'll flip you to see who drives tonight. TBIL.

Good morning all,
Had a big dinner yesterday with turkey and all the trimmings. Still have some clean up left on the roasting pan this morning. A friend stopped by yesterday and dropped off some pictures of our train chase of U.P. 844 a few days ago. He's the one who plays drums in the Dixieland band. They are playing a festival in Sandy Eggo this weekend but I will not be going this year.
Talked with sis in N.C. before Thanksgiving and she is still holding up pretty good. She has a visiting nurse that comes in during the week. Sis said the doctors are still considering "patching up" her back fractures. The cancer had weakened some of bones in the back and something snapped when she tried to do some heavy lifting. That is how she first discovered that she had a problem. Subsequent xrays revealed a lot of cancer damage to the bones.
The rain missed us on Thursday. Looks like clear skies and warmer weather now for the next few days. Staying away from black friday madness at shopping malls this week end. I don't need anything that bad. #2 Son went up to Ventura on the Coast today to do some railfanning he said. #1 Son and his family are home this weekend for some much needed rest. He works for the Federal government in a job that takes the life out of you sometimes.
We shared our pictures with the extended family from our North Carolina trip yesterday. Told them all about the Bar=B-Que and his honor, the Chief who lives in Rolesville. We did not make connections with him due to time constraints but talked on the phone briefly.
Have a great day all,
Ray

Hey guys. It sounds like everybody had a good Thanksgiving. I had a great dinner with my family yesterday. It did not take long for my dad to crash after dinner. It never does. I followed his example a short time later.
This morning I had to do some work on my satellite dish before I could get on line. Something got hungry and chewed though the cable. My dad and I could some new cable and put a metal sheath on it then put that in a PVC conduit. Whatever bites through it now will need a big set of choppers.

Doug - you had all the fun
Cloudy here and might rain tonight.. Nothing significant but certainly welcome.
A&M lost the game to Texas last night - numerous penalties cost A&M the big one.
Having dinner with the visiting family tonight.
Have a great day all!

Good Evening
its 55 now
Colder next week. A quiet day, spent some time with part of our little family and had thanksgiving dinner all over again just like most of you did. Then I came home and couched for an hour. Granny saw her Red Wings win,I am still shaking my head at yesterdays very poor showing by the Lions. It's on every local news today. Banlla is at the ready...S.J.
Beautiful sunny Friday here at exit 77 at the GSP. Tommorow will be a repeat of today. NICE!
Anyone for some more Turkey?? Sunday my son will be frying a turkey. I bought him a 30 quart pot some time ago and he'll give it a go! Can't wait. Tomorrow after work I'll be heading over to HudsonJohn's for a combo birthday party for his two kids. Maybe this year he'll surprise me and get some Becks !
DougM - What happened? Someone tip over a candle??
SJ - I have to agree with you about the Lions. I usually pull for them on Turkey day but more so yesterday. The first half was good but I was really disappointed with their weak showing in the second half.

Hello all,
Checking the bay and Pot before I head to bed.
Think I caught the Crud from Mrs. Last evening I felt like he** aches all over. This AM sore throat and painful sinus. Family Doc called in a prescription for Amoxicilin. Hope tomorrow is better. Didn't get much done outside today. Didn't feel up to it even though the weather was beautiful. Tomorrow's another day. May try to haul manure.
Laz, good luck on Monday. I'll take my rifle for a walk if I feel up to it. Probably sit in the old chicken coop if it's raining.
Fife never new you were a custom painter!!
Back to the Bay then off to bed.
Prayers for those in need

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s. Cleaned the gutters out of the barn, mulched the leaves for the last time, hung some AJ posters from dad's place in the attic, and moved some more boxes of "stuff" from attic to barn. It was a good day. I had bacon and bicuits on the dining car for breakfast on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good evening everyone. Well, had a great afternoon, took son hunting for the first time. We didn't see any deer, but we enjoyed our time in the woods. He did quite well on the patience front. Afterwards, we went back to our friend's house for turkey sandwiches. One of the guys who met us at the hunting ground is an engineer for CSX. Will have to catch up at a later date to talk trains.
With regard to the black Friday sales, we only went to the outdoor hunting store to get my son some gear, avoided all other stores. So what is it with these people wasting their Thanksgiving standing on a line for a store to open? These folks are nuts. One store had a line at 10am for a midnight opening.
Hope to take it easy tomorrow. Have a great night.

Dennis if those crazy people waiting all night in line like they do here:
Figure their time spent even at min. wage what did they save?
A couple of nice days here - sunny and almost 70 yesterday, and sunny and high 50's today.
Had a quiet Thanksgiving with just my wife and I yesterday. Grilled turkey tenderloins and served them with all of the usual Thanksgiving goodies. Went downtown and watched the lighting of the lights and fireworks.
A bit of yardwork today, then worked on the P.E. layout.
Here is a picture of the track cutting jig I made.
[View:http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/themes/trc/utility/:550:0]
I've got the layout together enough for some test running.
The mini Berkshire will haul all 7 P.E. cars up that grade - but it is working extremely hard to do so. It seems happier with four.
All for now.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is early. 40 degrees. Going up to 58 today with some sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and some paperwork. Got my new copy of CTT mag, and plan on reading it later. Exercises are going better. Legs are getting stronger.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Satuurday.

Good morning from Rogers Corners, Ohio. In a few hours the game begins.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 37 this a.m., in the midst of a beautiful weather pattern in the Mid-Atlantic region . This too will pass soon, like Buckeye's stone...we hope...
Banks - Yep, custom painted from the late 80's to the mid-90's. Mostly HO engines. It was a way to finance my train purchases. But then it got too much of a chore, and I wanted out. Nowadays, I might fire up the Badger twice a year.
Btw, anyone not like this paint scheme...?

Good morning everyone. Got some Pumpkin Spice Coffee from Gevallia all set to be administered to this slow on the go guy. We have no real plans today, so I figure it will be shopping with SWMBO. Sir James, they are nuts! I once gathered my wife and son years ago to join the madness....mainly to just see the chaos. After my ankles were black and blue from all the women driving their shopping carts into me, that was enough, if I want to watch madness, I will turn on the television.
Buckeye, pray that that stone is gone soon. I have never had one...and don't want one either! I have been told that is as close to childbirth as we can come.
RT, did you win that Southern Mikkado we had spoken of? If so, I need to send you the paperwork as we discussed. Just let me know.
Fife, that is a handsome scheme.
Hope each of you has a wonderful day.God Bless,Dennis
Konbanwa,
It has been a while since I last posted. We have been extremely busy during that time. For most of it we have been unpacking boxes and putting all of our items into their proper places. You have to be more creative on where you place things when such a downsizing has occurred. We had almost 600 hundred boxes and I believe we have about four left to unpack. We had a great Thanksgiving and we also had a great time taking the trains to Tokyo last weekend. I just skimmed through all the posts from my time away, but I do not have time to recap every day. I should be back on regularly now.
Douddagrump - Is you ceiling layout suspended from the ceiling? Or is it more of a shelf style? I wanted to have shelf layouts in my sons' rooms, but due to the closets and windows those will not work. Now I have to figure out a way to suspend the track from the ceiling which I believe will be much more difficult, or expensive.
SJ - I sent you a PM.
Good night,
Joe
Yesterday was nice. Some sun, some clouds. Raining now and looks like that will be the day.
Just the wife and I at home yesterday and the weather was mild for this time of year. So we cleaned up around the yard and split and stacked about a full cord of wood. Only need to do about ½ cord more to fill the wood shed on next year’s side.
Buckeye, sorry to hear about the stone. Never had one and don’t want one. My brother has had them…….bad news.
fifedog, That is one cool paint scheme on that engine.
8ntruck, Nice layout, wish I had your skills.
SJ, I am with you what is with those people? Oh well I guess we raised them.
Did my Black Friday shopping on the Internet. Gift cards…everyone likes them and I did not waste any gas

Okay, just got back from Walgreen's. They have the complete set of A Christmas Story houses and figurines. Picked up a Santa lighthouse for fifemom. Also spotted a "Snookie" Christmas ornament...a sure sign of the apocolypse. (BTW, it was about right for G-scale )
49/50s today
Joe good to read your post, seems your family is adjusting nicely. If I can find your PM I will respond..lol.(haven't found it yet). The 4 females in our little family use to sit at the table after thanksgiving dinner and go through the sales papers. They would combine their wants and then each started at a different store with the list for all. We are all getting older now,,,they went out yesterday at 9am...S.J.
Buckeye, pass that stone. Had 2, still have 2 in the kidneys.

OK found it, sent reply. They look nice but restored lowers the price. Don't bid too high unless you really want them.
Wife and I are celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary today. We went someplace special for the last two years but have decided to stay home this time. It's not the best time for an anniversary between Thanksgiving and Christmas with too many other things going on. We were actually married on Thanksgiving day in 1959. We thought that would make it easy to remember but we forgot that Thanksgiving is not always on the same date.
Buckeye, as a person who has had many kidney stone attacks over the years, I can really sympathize with you. I send my prayers and hope that yours will soon pass.
Nice weather returning today with high of 80 predicted.
Ran some trains yesterday with no pile ups. My local TCA Western Division is putting on a train display again this year at the Richard M. Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California. There is something on the internet about it. Looks like mostly standard gauge trains but also a Lego set up by another organization there as well.
Will miss the Traditional Jazz festival this weekend in San Diego but they have good weather for it.
Still have a lot of turkey to use. Might have to freeze some of it.
later,
Good morning. It's 72° and cloudy. The high will be 76°. Wind is SSE at 9 mph with gusts to 21. There's a 70% chance of rain at the moment going up to 80% this afternoon. No real plans for today as it's quite possible I won't have power later. That depends on the severity of the storms. There's a big band ranging from light to heavy coming across east Texas and it's coming right at us.
8ntruck--
THANKS for the terrific pics, nice work for sure. What are your over all dimensions for that piece? Thanks again.
