THINGS ARE GOING GOOD. SPENT SOME TIME OUT SIDE YESTERDAY,
MISS YOU GUYS
Aloha. Praying for your rapid recover, Chuck! Brown haze and burning odor over the whole area from yesterday from wildfires on the Minn / Canada border. Isn't that something? Smells like fall used to before all the leaf-burning bans. Trees turning colors here... Took the youngest canoeing yesterday too as a sort of field trip. Morning,
A quick post, made it to Reno and back! Wow I forgot how big the Mojave really is. Was 500 miles each way, took the El Camino, car really did well. Stopped at a gas station and a guy in a Vette commented on how "quick" it was. We had been traveling together for 3 hours or so. (Managed 17mpg)
Made some sunscreen panels for brothers patio, It really improved the comfort level. Lots and lots of real estate available in the area, just like everywhere else.
Doing a presentation today, and hopefully will get back into the swing of thing in a couple of days.
Glad to see Chuck doing so well. And also Char's good news.
Take care and God Bless.
Don
Chuck,
Glad to see you are back. Keep the snow cannon powered down this year.
SJ,
for Pat.
RT,
Regarding the sauce/pudding mixup, I was wondering if you had one of the meals with the brownie. Sometimes those don't bake correctly LOL.
Brent,
I replied to your email. Can't remember when though due to my odd hours this week.
I have been on night shift this week. 6PM-6AM Monday and Tuesday. I've been up since 12PM yesterday (at least I think that is what day it was), so I am a bit out of it right now. Been running on Mountain Dew and the strongest coffee the machine could kick out. I'll be back later.
No the box said bourbon dipping sauce and it definitely tasted like bourbon from the word go I just didn't read the box first lol.
After noon all well I still high bidder on one set of weights the other someone out bid me but I only did minimum on that one may go back and snip it at the end :) we'll see I also made a offer to a guy that had a scale and weights for sale but didn't sell so I made him a fair offer for just the weights. haven't heard back from him. I'm really looking forward to getting this scale as It looks real cool to me, seeing I'm actually a trained scratch baker

Busy but not overwhelming day.
Chuck, Keep it up.
SJ, Best wishes for Pat.
Brutus, All good news for char
Chief, Great story on the bell.
Roy, Great twist on the bell story.
RI Jack, You are right it is how they are raised. He gets very defensive of "His Cat" who is very old and prefers to stay outside most of the time. Other younger cats have been challenging her lately and he turns into a different dog and the growling and attack mode comes into play. After that the two will snuggle together. BTW the cat also gets along with the rabbit.
Have a Great Day,
John
Good morning all, actually it is11:48AM so its still morning.
Chuck, just wanted to say hello and wish you continued recovery. I will keep you on the prayer list as long as you need it. I know you will be glad to get home and enjoy Paula's cooking but hang in there and the time will go fast.
Best wishes and for Char to keep doing well.
D.Baker, hope you have a safe trip home.
Jack, thanks for the prayers on the back problem. I'm pretty much out of pain now but still taking meds prescribed by the doctor and avoiding any heavy lifting or vigorous exercises. When I am walking lately it feels like I am pitching forward like about to loose my balance. Maybe it's the meds. Will see Doc next week.
S.J. prayers for Mrs S.J.

No worries, Chuck. In a couple of weeks you will be quick enough to catch them BEFORE they are able to run out the door.
It is great to see you posting again!

It appears that good old Dad left all of the paddling (work) to his son while goofing off in the back of the canoe and taking pictures.

Good evening everyone. Long day with plenty of work to do. Had a meeting with son's gifted ed teacher. She is going to give some extra work to supliment his required work so he will not get bored. Must get it from my wife! After all that, had to take kids to violin lessons.
Brutus, glad to hear Char's numbers are in line, but bad that she will be apt to get any bug that comes along. Make sure you keep some hand sanitizer nearby for anyone who enters the home, etc. Hope she builds up soon.
Jon, I have to be in Denver soon. One of the equipment manufacturers has a lab out there that I have to go and do some experiments with. It may only be a few days, but I do hope to at least get back to the Denver Museum.
Well, I have to get going. Hope everyone has a great night.God Bless,Dennis

Good evening all,
Just got some bad news about one of my sisters who lives in Jacksonville, N.C. She has been diagnosed with stage four *** cancer. They said that it had spread from the initial site so they don't intend to operate. Don't know all the details yet because I got it second hand from another sister. I did hear something like three to six months on the prognosis. She is a widow about 67 and a non smoker. Don't know how often she went for check ups but obviously, not enough. I will have to figure out a good time to try and go see her which is a chore with my oxygen use on airplanes. I need lead time to satisfiy all the airline requirements so it is probably better to go sooner than later. She is still in the hospital and they are still working on pain mangement at this point. Hope they can stabilize her soon and then I will know more about when and what to do. Sorry to bend your ears guys but would appreciate any prayers that you could send up on her behalf. Thanks
SP...I am truely sorry to hear about your sister. Prayers for her and your family.
It felt so good to sleep in a real bed last night, best sleep I've had in about 2 weeks!
Dennis -- if you get a chance, visit the Wings Over the Rockies exhibit at the old Lowry Air Force Base near the former Stapleton airport, UNBELIEVABLE! They have a B1A Stealth Bomber on display along with a huge display of Air Force fighters and bombers, all enclosed. Lots of Air Force history in the building, well worth your time.
The other WONDERFUL opportunity is one we took advantage of this afternoon was visiting the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, just a suburb of Denver. They have been there 52 years and have a wonderful collection of narrow gauge and standard gauge equipment, we really enjoyed it. The real plus is going downstairs in the old building and seeing the HO exhibit, AMAZING set up and I've never seen better scenery design any where. Their attention to detail was fantastic and inspiring. I would stay away from there on the weekends as Thomas is a huge draw, enough said.
Off to a Rockies/Giants game tomorrow night and then headed back to the mountains Friday morning, sure hope the snow stays away as I'll be back to the 9-12,000' elevations one last time.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Good Evening
54 tonight, we had a short time rain pattern pass earlier.
Ray sorry to read about you sister. Hopefully they can control the pain for her. I didn't do anything today except my visit with granny Pat, she seems to be doing well. All IVs are gone but of course they still use the needle port for meds. And they have had her up twice a day to walk some. Banilla is ready...S.J.
Ray, sorry to hear about your sister. Prayers sent.

Just got home an hour ago and wanted to read some posts to keep in touch only to find out about Ray's sister. Ray, words are hard enough at a time like this but all I can say are sorry for the bad knews and I'll keep you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers.
Will catch up with the rest tomorrow, I hope!
Good night all!

Good morning all,
First off, prayers for SP Ray and his sister. Weather is rainy in SE Indiana but should clear off for tonight's game. Temps will be cooler, but I will be dressed and prepped for it. I had a good day at work yesterday. Started going thru some stuff of my folks last night. Need to get that done so house can get back to normal. Found a box of travel articles mom had clipped out of newspapers. Even if we ever wanted to go to those places, the information is so old as to be useless. Out it goes. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East". TBIL after the game, but some one else will have to drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning,
SP Ray, Prayers for your sister, you and the rest of the family.
60 and rainy here, maybe GOLF with BRO later today if rain stops. Saw quite a few of my kidos parents last nite. Funny these parents are the ones I taught quite a few years ago, now I have their kids. Lots have said You still here. And lots were suprised it is my last year. Felt good of the comments I got from them.
SPMAN, RAY prayers on the prayer train for your SIS.
CHUCK, keep up the work buddy.
Hello all,
Quick cup this morning to send to SP Ray's sister and more for Chuck.
Rainy & cool here this morning. Like we need more rain. Six weeks a go we were praying for rain.

Aloha! Very cold here. Nice parents night at the high school - 7th in a row. Won't be back for another 6 years. Wow. Ray, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister and will pray you get to see her soon. Hudson, those translation apps are pretty nifty. (though I wouldn't be handing a smartphone to anyone overseas. LOL) Some allow you to speak into the phone and it writes and speaks your statement in the other language (avoids misunderstandings)
Mornin' boys. Mornin' Mayor McDingy. Partly sunny & 66 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Spent yesterday afternoon lounging on the yatchet, before heading in for work. Boatyard will be breaking up a similar model sailboat this week, and I am looking to cannibalize some parts (ports, teak rails). Was even thinking how the bow would make an interesting planter.
SPMan - Best wishes with everything.
laz - You're being told you're old...just politely...
jonadel - Repeated kudos on your CTT pic. Looking forward to your upcoming article. Can't wait to read my name as one of your modeling inspirations...
no...?
Mornin' Fellas.Ray - prayers for you, your sister, and your family.Got a pretty big cold front moving in... supposed to drop some rain and the temps about 20 degress. Tonight the low is to be 40 and tomorrow's high 69. I love Fall!
Prayers for SP Ray and his sister.
Congrats Jon, what page is that pic on?
Tardis was delayed last night due to some computer problems, but I did finally manage to get into the usps sight and get the postage/label to send a box to PartsandTrains or Parts Trains, depending on which email I read. I ensured it for 75 and dropped into PO parcel slot this AM at about 7:15.
Prayers for Granny!
Gotta go hit the SS Fund HARD today - TTFN
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Fife -- thanks for the kudos, the only inspiration I've had is the sheer joy of working on our layout and watching my wife having a great time with scenery, I had no idea she would have so much fun.
Brutus -- I think the pic is on pg. 12, can't miss the John Deere colors, I'm not sure as I don't have access to a magazine right now.
50 with sun now and 60s for the day. 69 in the house right now. Tired, slept way past my usual get up time. Have a great day.
S.J.
Good Mornin' Ya'll From Hazy But Still Seasonal Taxachusetts,
SP Ray......I am so sorry about the news on your sister. I hope you can iron out the travel wrinkes and visit her soon. I will add her in my prayers for you.
Chuck.......who is guarding your trains while you are incarcerated?
SJ.......continued prayers for Granny's recovery. Her keee must be feeling poorly right now, but week by week these things will improve. Soon she will be back in action. In the interim, hope your supply of pots and pans is adequate to withstand your cooking faux pas. Are your Tigers all on steroids? They can't seem to lose, and at just the right time. They've put the final stake in the heart of the White Sox the past couple of weeks. Sorry, DougM.........being from Chicago, you and I are quite used to exits from the mix, early as well as late. If the Red Sox keep playing like they are, the Rays will replace them for the Wild card.
MikeC........funny you should post about adding a few momentos into the mix at home. My wife and I did that many moons ago, and last night we decided that we now we need to revisit some boxes in our basement.
Jon........that is quite an honor, your CTT photo. Congas! Also someone noted an article you may be writing? Hope it is educational, like "what is the best matress to buy when you need to hide money for train purchases." What a fantastic road trip you had. My Dad used to say that one needs not travel outside of the U.S. to find incredible natural beauty. I think he meant the beauty of our natural landscape.
Well, the sun is still peeking out now and then, but clouds and the rain are scheduled for later. Like many of you, that Canadian front which will arrive tonight will move the overnight temps into the mid 40s and the daytime temps in the mid 60s into the weekend. Been enjoying beautiful clear evenings with a sharp harvest moon.
Later, gang.
