Jack,
I was on vacation in the Berlin Ocean City area last week. Visited Toy Town three times. I went to look on Monday, bought a set of 2023 UP Alcos on Tuesday, and bought a set of 2333 NYC F3s and 2343 SF F3s on Friday. I'll get pictures as soon as I get the 2333 back together.

Chief...........and shipping my tomatoes to me I hope.
I've been MIA since last Thursday. Had a combined Birthday party cookout for the two granddaughters (2 and 8) on Saturday. Attendance including parents, family, and friends may have hit 50. Man, was that a lot of work!!!!! And the work continued over the next couple of days cleaning up and putting everything away. We had enough leftover food to do it all again.
Hey RaySP.........I haven't missed my chair and found myself hitting the floor in at least a week!
Dennis........that must have been a gruesome site.
Traindood and RaySP...........no ipods and ipads for this boy either. My daughter got us sucked into facebook, and it is such a time waster. Re the cell phones, mine is so old that the Smithsonian wants mine as an example of prehistoric communication devices.
Where is JimmyT hiding? Methinks he is in love with Boysenberry.
DougM..........hope that wasn't your sailboat that went down in Lake Michigan during the boat race after getting hit with 70 MPH winds. My wife is out in your neck of the woods for some systems training and a visit with her folks.......so stay off the roads.
AF Ray and JoeyD........if the Red Sox could just get healthy, they just might be able to catch the Yankees. Two starting pitchers on the DL for the past month (Buchholz and Matsusaka), as has been their starting leftfielder (Crawford), and their starting shortstop (Lowrie).
MikeC........I too was disappointed at the American women's loss to Japan. They let that one slip away. Since you are a car racing fiend, you would be glad to know I got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic Sunday night with all of the Nascar fans returning to Taxachusetts after the race. Why do they call those roads superhighways? Should be called super-slowways, or parking lots.
Where has Rich been hiding?
SJ.........prayers continue for you grandson's continued recovery from the broken arm. Kids are tough! Is it my imagination, or are your Tigers and Chuck's Indians indecisive about which team wants to take and keep first place in the AL Central?
Later, gang! Follow LAZ' advice. Keep well stocked with frosties to beat the heat!!! And cover that topknot with a baseball cap.
Jack.

Good afternoon everyone. Had early morning bible study and then to work. Had one morning case and then had to get some work done on the computer. Home now with son as wife and daughter are at ballet practice.
Jack, a little story about a Fierro, when I was with HFD, we had a tractor trailer jack-knife on Rt 80. We had a couple of cars buried up to the rear window by the truck and were getting those folks taken care of. A NJ State Trooper comes up to report that there was another car up around the bend that needs assistance. We take one of the ambulances around the bend and find a fierro on the side of the road with the roof cut right off so that it looked like a convertible. Woman driving it was sitting there...stunned, and with her scalp completely removed like a flap to the back of her head. Other than that, she was fine. One weird call that stays in my mind.
About time to start making the kids some lunch for when the bride gets home. Hope to check in later.God Bless,Dennis

Good morning all,
Jack, sorry you lost your post. I look forward to the work you put into consolidating all the happenings on the forum. I hate it when that happens to me too.
V8 Dennis, I don't do facebook either and don't want to. I don't have an I phone or I pod or anything else electronic besides my trains, TV and cell phone which I never use. I only carry it for emergency roadside assistance while driving.
The paper keeps reporting temps in the 90's for the valleys but it always seems like a hundred over here. I live close to the foothills above us and that is always hotter for some reason. Not enough air movement I guess.
My son and grandson and I are going to an Angel game tomorrow night. Suppose to be a little cooler tomorrow. I haven't even looked to see who they are playing yet but I don't think it's the Yankees.
I have two tall palm trees that need trimming about this time every year. Otherwise they start going to seed and dropping them all over the lawn which makes little palms sprouting all over. They also put out flowers prior to the seed drop. The whole thing is messy. Only problem this year is that I have to get my new neighbor (the five collie guy) to move his Queen Mary boat so the palm frawns don't fall on it when they are cut.
Went for blood work today and see doctor next week for regular check up. Afraid I might get a bad report on cholesterol since I have been living dangerously lately. I have given up just about every other vice or pleasure except eating. Life ain't fair but compared to what?
Have a good day y'all,
Ray

It took me quite a while to type my post (interruptions). By the time I hit the "post" button, CTT asked me to "sign in" before proceeding. It never does that to me. In the future before I hit "post," I will copy my post. If the same thing happens and my original post is somehow lost, I can just hit "reply" and then paste the same post.

PS: Your Fiero (1984-1988) is a keeper......the only two seat, mid-engined American sports car ever. It is also a classic GM opportunity lost. In addition, the Fiero was very reasonable priced and came with a new body panel technology.
Too often, GM comes up with a great and differentiated product concept, but then then they leave the significant enhancements and improvements (like the Fiero aero body cladding, more horsepower, and the fastback version) until the market opportunity and enthusiasm has passed. Then they promptly cancel the car's production. A real shame.
GM learned nothing from that mistake. They did the same with the Cadillac Allante (1987-1993) which was supposed to be a two-seat luxury convertible, a Mercedes 560SL equivalent; but GM gave it short shrift with one anemic motor up on release and then yet another anemic motor mid production, until the final year of production in 1993 when they dropped in the DOHC 32 valve 4.6L Northstar engine, one that finally had some Mercedes-like muscle and performance.
I don't have much to report this morning; just another day in the office. I am looking forward to dinner: the wife is making clam chowder. We haven't had it in a while and the princess has been requesting it as well.
SJ - You should convince Granny to buy you a lift so you can perform the maintenance yourself without having to get on the ground. It would pay for itself after about 200 or so oil changes.
Good day,
Joe
Good Morning
79/90 today
I was out early, got oil changed in the truck, they tried to sell me a new belt. Maybe I'll go back to doing my own if I can get help off the ground...lol..Also a very quick stop at Kroger. Now I'm ready for the day...S.J.

Morning all. Heating up. Need rain. Errands and mow grass. Probably go to lake house for one night. Need to mow there too.
Cheerios too
Later
Pot timed me out and I just lost a massive post. I give up.
Good Morning,
78 and thunder storms forecasted, none yet and the sky is clear. I am sure that it will change soon. Let me take the cover off the boat.
Today it is to get caught up on stuff insde the house, mostly reorganize, then I will spend some time with my trains.
AF53, Ray, let me know when ou are home tonight. I would like to see the recent addition.
Anyone here from Rich, NJDevil ?
Have a Great Day,
John
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a very humid and cloudy 74 degrees. Going to rain any minute. Going up to 88 today.
Today is a busy day. After the usual chores, I have to work on a project that will take a few days. Maybe I can sneak a nap in this afternoon.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s. Last night was my first and last attempt to run trains until after the kids are gone. By the time the night was over, I was ready to sell the entire collection. Now I know why I spend time on the PC instead. Very frustrating. At least work went well. Really do not have a good feeling about Wednesday's game. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good evening all,
We had a fun evening tonight. Our 8y/o son's one front baby tooth had been loose for the past three weeks. The past week or so it had been hanging on for dear life; we could already see the new tooth coming in behind it, but that baby tooth did not want to give. My wife decided it was time for drastic measures, but none of the old fashioned tactics of tying a string to it. She ran some dental floss up under it and popped that sucker out of there. The tooth flew about four feet high into the air and traveled about six feet. Fortunately our 9y/o princess was able to catch it like a centerfielder. The boy yelled for about one second and then realized he was not in any pain; just the shock of his tooth flying out of his mouth. I wish we would have videotaped it.
The Yankees came from behind and won a close one tonight. The Sox drubbed the Orioles.
Hudson John - I am a Yank and love Scrapple. When I was a kid growing up in PA I would love it when our parents took us out for breakfast after Sunday mass. Every now and then we would go to one of the diners that served Scrapple and I couldn't get enough of it.
Laz - I hear you on the pacing. However, out here it's already 87 degrees by 0700. Once I start going past five miles I need to break out my hydration pack. I also use my running to justify eating and drinking more.
SJ - Still no CTT here either. On Saturday I broke down and bought the other mag to get me through this dry spell.
Good night,
Howdy guys - it was hot in Saint Louis as well! I think we hit 95, but it felt like 101 or something like that? The good news is they opened the 18th street bridge again after about 10 days of construction work. Now I have a straight shot to work again and also can check out the train yard on the way there and back home each day
Doug - if it's not you, then who have we been picking up each night?! Eeek! It's a shapeshifter! The Thing from Another World! We'll have to do the blood/hot wire test tonight just to be sure. Bring all your blood!
No CTT for me yet, but I'm sure it will be here soon.
Talked it over with my wife and my sister has a name for a guy who can do all the taping and mudding on the basement for us. We'll call him and get a price. I have to redo a piece that I messed up yesterday and this time my son will help me as it's too wide and heavy to maneuver by myself with all the cut outs for the pipes and drain. It's a 2 man job and he needs to step up and help.
TARDIS is ready so let's hit it guys! We have banilla and also boston cream pie
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
sir james I 3:30 pm 95 degrees. The snow is melting, I'm trying to find my summer undies need to get of these longjohns..S.J.

Great ball game. 12 to 1 and MudCats win. BTW: the MudCats is farm team for Cincinnati. Where is Cincinnati? Yes and we are running them out of town.
Diet Gingerale and good night.
Good Evening
I'm running late, watched Pickers till 10 our time. Got some Banilla and A & W so come on by...S.J.
No CTT yet............
got it, hold the onions
Good Evening all!
Not much going on tonight, as everyone elsewhere we are trying to put up with these high temps.
Traindood - Yes Yogi did have a strange look on his face as he watched that ball sail for a homer, but I ask you, when didn't he have a strange look on his face????
HudsonJohn - Your wife likes that smell because my dad and I filled the basement with it and she grew up liking it!! Nice stopping by to see you tonight it was worth the trip! BTW, this new (old) 1918 clockwork engine is a beautiful sight!!
SJ - That breafast sounds good! I'll take some to go, just hold the onions!
Good night!

Aloha. I'm scanning the skies for the TARDIS these evenings. Can you see my beacon way down here in Southland? It's a tad warm here too. Though I think it's hotter back in Chicago. V8 Dennis, glad you're here ...

Good afternoon Y'all! Got a house full of screaming kids....Arghh. Wife's friend with a few of her own are here and all kids are running in circles throughout the house. Not saying anything right now...just be prepared to clean up and repair the damage when all is done.
Chief, that sounds like a great deal. If you have an old Redfield scope, that would be nice vintage for her. They are likely Redfield bases. I have an old Marlin with a 3-9 Leupold on it. My others have Lyman Peep Sites.
Trying to make arrangements to fly my dad down in the fall. We have several airports not too far away. By then, the temps in NJ will be cool enough to make him want to head this way. It'd be good to have him down. Perhaps he can bring along some of my stuff from up north.....nah, he would need a truck.
Take care,Dennis
Good Afternoon,
Vacation week, slept in to 7:30 this morning and did a few chores and errands and ran the trains. Hot at the Jersey Shore, 95, with thunder storms tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow it is get caught up on insde chores, Wednesday, fishing in the morning and a day with my wife, Thursday to Saturday, it is off to Pa, for the John Deere Reunion at the Rough and Tumble Museum, a stop at the Pa Railroad Museum, Toy Train Museum and a few other's on the agenda. Back to work for 2 whole weeks and off again.
Chief, Congrats on your unoppossed election. You must be doing something right. I do not any Yanks that like Scrapple. Stay away, might be a trick.
Mike C, Congrats on Lucas' scholarship. You have to follow up because I can vouch that they don't.
Buckeye, I also filled the house with the good old smoke smell today. Lucky for me my wife likes that smell also.
SJ, Good news for Jesse. Bad news is that the Ice Cream Shop is having troubles with a new Masterbuilt dipping freezer. The manufacturer had us call another service company to look at it. After that is resolved they are going to work on our lemon ice cream. My CTT is next to yours.
V8Vega, Dennis, In NJ we have the bi-annual emissions test. They did away with the safety inspection but kept that so they qualify for highway funding.
Charlie, Another successful fishing trip.
AF53, Ray, your package arrived. It is marked "Fra-gee-lee". Must be Italian. Watch it, you will shoot your eye out!
SPMan, Ray, you made me laugh with the computer chair story. A few years ago, one of our Safety Professional's office was in her building. she works out, eats healthy, runs marathons, etc. She is in her 50's and "used to" sit in a workout ball, she said for better ergonomics instead of a chair when doing computer work. One day, i just so happened to be walking by with a co worker and we heard a bang. The ball blew out, she looked around, saw us and turned a nice red. She was not hurt but embarrased, because the whole office came running to see what exploded. She calmly looked at us and said, "I knew that should have not eaten those Chocalate Chip Cookies. I should have had the carrot." We all had a good laugh.
Have a Great Day!
Hi GUYZ,
JOE D., Its all in the pace with the running. I sweated all the beers out of me this morning, getting ready to make room for more, after tomorrows ride in the Lokie.
V8, this is my only social media. Don't really care about spacebook. Oh yeah, glad you are on the pot, like everyone else here get to read about all yuz guyz.
laz57
I was up early and beat the heat for my 5-mile run this morning. For breakfast I had some raspberry/strawberry bars the wife made a couple days ago and fresh cantaloupe. We had our pre-inspection appointment on our house this morning. We live on-base and they will check twice to make sure we return the house the way we received it. It went well and we will not have any issues.
SJ - I still read the local newspaper every morning as well. I guess I'm old fashioned too.
Laz - We only have one cool day forecasted for this week; Thursday's high is projected to be only 99.
Morning. Resting and watching hunting on TV. Retirement. This is good as Buckeye and others are working to see to it I can just relax.
Highs in the high 90's to 100 this week. Slight chance of a shower. Hot air coming out of Ioway through Ohizo [which is like an afterburner].
Got Baceball game [Mudcats] for Mayors' Assoc. meeting tonight. Got hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken and trimmings. Box seats in A/C.
Dennis, just cut a great deal on a "like new" H&R .22 Mag semiauto rifle. Rare and especially in that condition. Guy in Greenville NC. Will pick it up in August when I drive near there for family reunion [unless I go to the farm before that]. Comes with scope base but no scope [got several 3X9's].
Guess I need to mow back lawn. [YAWN]
Later.
Good morning
HOT, it was 81 when I opened the door at 7:30 to get the paper. Yes I still read the newspaper. No real plans for the day so I'll just go with it. 2 eggs, home fried taters w/onion, 1 toast. I will skip lunch. Have a great day...S.J.
Morning all. Waiting while bride makes the morning breakfast. Just catching up on the news and finishing my homework for bible study tomorrow morning. limited schedule, so I will be heading in a little later.
Mike, I agree about any given team can beat any other. I just think that like many other things, people can go into it with too much pride, be it derived on their own, or from folks telling them they are "unbeatable". I also know that one has to watch interviews as there are ways to edit sound bites to say things you may not have intended.
Well, breakfast is here. Hope it is a good day for each of you.Dennis
