Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Hopefully will have first soccer game tonight.  For some reason, heart is not really into it.  Maybe attitude will change closer to game time.  Lucas and I moved two glass cabinets for models last night.  Work went well yesterday.  Regular fare on dining car.  TBIL after game.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

80's breezy and humid today.

Finished up the 'simple' replacement of the treads on my deck steps today.  Started yesterday afternoon, thinking easy job - just remove the old treads, level the stringers and bang the new treads into place.  Nope.  The stringers about disintegrated as I pulled the treads off.  Back to the store for more material for new stringers.  Cut the first stringer by copying the old one.  Found out why the stairs leaned downhill.   The last guy did not figure the rise correctly on the stringers.  By then it was dark.  Re-started the job this morning by re-cutting the first stringer.  Finished up in the late afternoon.

Cheapclassics - I caught the Indy 500 on TV.  The pre-race show carried a title suggesting that some of the 100 year history was going to be covered.  Nope.  Was mostly human interest stories on the current drivers, apparently trying to build 'drama' for the viewers.  In some of the interview shots, I could see the old cars out on the track.   Would much rather have network would have provided the sights and sounds of yesteryear.

SJ - was it you who was commenting on the rabbits living under your neighbor's porch?  While probably not technically leagal in your case, a Crossman 760 might be a useful tool.  Quiet, limited range........

Back to work tomorrow to keep Social Security solvent.

Finally some heat for the north.  Heat felt good and the predicted storms tonight were tame.  Air conditioning is running and irrigation is turned on... welcome summer your late!

Lee - good luck man.

Doug M and I are trying to figure out an O Gauge Ivor the Engine.  Any suggestions, guys?  He think's a Lionel Percy can be converted, but I think it's too long and needs different sides of course.

TARDIS is ready when you guys are - checking for beacons now Smile

The wind finally quit! 94 today and low to mid 90's predicted for rest of the week.

Son is in last 2 days of HS for this year and only one test left to go. 1 year left! Hooray!

Watching Mavs vs Heat. MAvs hanging in there. Critical first game to set the tone. Mavs lost to Heat in 2006.

Good evening all,

I had a busy day today wrapping up some loose ends before starting my week off.  I am in the OKC airport right now waiting to depart.  I have a brief layover in Chicago and I arrive into Philly at 0115 on Wednesday.  I will get some sleep at my sister's house in Norristown before heading to Mom and Pop's house in Shenandoah, PA.  I'm only going to be there for three days, but I'm hoping to make a trip to train store or two in the Scranton area.

AF Ray - Yes, the Yanks are tied with Jack's bums from Beantown.Laugh

I'll catch up more once I'm settled in tomorrow.

Good night,

RaySP......you didn't mention it, but I hope your knee is improving.  PT starts this week, no?

Chief.......I didn't know Southern cats speak, write, and type with a Southern drawl.  Meowwww, ya'll.  Whistling

RT......you would love to see some of the dogs we train with.  Yes, one is referred to as a Rottman (mostly Rotty and the rest Doberman).  This one is a love bug.

Jack

Oh around us he was a big baby but don't try anything I had a guy come around in one of those pick-ups with a freezer in the back trying to sell me meat and I was working under my truck so he had a captive audience or he thought and wouldn't take no for a answer all i did was yell from under the truck Z! he jumped the 4' fence sat next to me and grinned up at the guy he left real quick. I still wish I had him. He was a real good dog and I didn't train him he did that on his own. He listened to me to the max. I said it he did it. I took him from a family basically they had him listed for sale as a doberman but I walked up there and I could count his ribs from 20' I told them I'm taking him and if you have a problem we'll get local animal control here and let them see how you abuse an animal. took him to the vets and he had worms got that taken care of and he went from 35 LBs to 85 lbs in like a 6 weeks.

RTR, I have plastic carrying cages, about five or so, one is big enough for two large house cats to be in at once. Also the move is about nine miles away.

It's supposed to get up to 93 or better today with a slight chance of rain. Hopefully our lack of rain can be fixed, as south Florida is in a very bad drought, hasn't been this bad that I can remember!

Hopefully we won't be moving too soon again!

yeah I had a different model back some years but wife has gotten attached to the feline version which isn't very good for home security thou. Mine was known as ZZ10,000 ( 3/4 Rot 1/4 Dob) he loved to lay with his head in my lap especially when I was driving the truck but always on alert as I worked nights and he went with me. left Rggie .500 with wife but he wasn't very good ( he was a minpin)

ZZ would let us know if anyone was withing 50' of our place as the local constable found out when trying to solve a murder 3 doors up as they thought the murderer went by our place and jumped the fence but when they got close to our place they could hear him inside going off. So they knew he/she didn't go any where near our place and we lived at the end of the road.

I presently use luger 9mm (german decent) and  it seems to get attention real quick. Whistling

Afternoon fellas and gals:    Hey Jack; I have the same system with two daschaunds who think they are pit bulls!  Also, for back up or ariel assault I installed twin 50 cal. machine guns on the roof for those pesky turkey buzzards!  Wifey likes to pick off a few every now and then; keeps her reflexes sharp!  We send them down south, rebs think they are butterballs!   Laugh   The neighbors think it's t.v. antenna!  They told me I must get great reception with that fancy contraption!    Whistling       Hey Laz: That was a good one.  I forgot about that one, haven' seen that flick in about 20 years.   later.

........Well its getting hot out there so I';m back in the cool den probably will have to put the A/C in later. I put in and take out as I need it don't trust it in the window over night or when not down here.

Talk to you all later

RT.......I am sure have you heard of the First Alert Home Security Systems.  I have the Last Alert Home Security System.  Unlike name brand, elaborate security systems costing thousands of dollars, the acquisition cost of a Last Alert Home Security System is quite reasonably priced.  It does require some daily maintenance.

The system's circuitry is quite complex, but it is a snap to install.  It is available in three colors to go along with your interior decorating.  It does not require a battery backup in the event of a power outage or some nefarious character cutting wires.  It operates 24/7/365 and automatically protects your entire property, including all of your vehicles and outlying structures.  If you forget to turn it on when leaving home, it automatically sets itself.  If configured correctly, the base system serves as an integral part of your home entertainment systems.

What I particularly like about the Last Alert Home Security System is that it keeps unwanted and/or unexpected visitors and those pesky family members and friends from just dropping in unnanounced.  If you are like me, you don't trust those pizza delivery folks or Southern Pot members either.

If you set it up on the "unlimited zone" setting,  it effectively chases off Canadian geese, moles and grounhogs, deer, the inconsiderate neighbors' off-leash pooping and peeing dogs, coyote and fox, wild turkeys, rabbits, chipmunks, and any other intruders from your grounds, airborn or not.  It even warns you if someone is passing by, casing your place, or just innocently walking on the sidewalk across the street.  The system is also a time saver.  It automatically cleans up food spills off the floor quickly and thoroughly.

Forget all of the hassles of 911 calls, police reports and investigations, insurance claims, court dates and continuances, and the fear of recrimmination from the criminals.  The Last Alert Home Security System takes care of all that for you in a matter of moments.  It catches, tries, convicts, and executes the criminals with dispatch.

The system is called the Maximus 5000Whistling

Lunch Time,

Brutus, Pat and the rest of the Pot, I agree with Pat and Brutus about the friendships that were formed here. This is the only forum or site that I visit almost daily and the common denominator is our love of our trains. My brother in law, AF53, Ray and I get a ribbing from the family about our involvement in the hobby and the forum and related activities, such as the Tardis. I love the way we tease each other and help one another when possible. A big thank you to CTT for letting us meet here.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Have a Great Day.

Pat Penny is on the main forum very often "Penny Trains"

Lee just make sure you have them in pet carrying cages the plastic ones with metal doors you can get them at wal-mart or if lucky local goodwill might have a couple. I have moved my cats many times but the above mentioned is for there safety and your  piece of mind as if there spooked and you open the door to get gas ect they may bolt.

Well got 3 of the 5 final bushes out 2 to go maybe tonight or tomorrow morning and they look to be the hardest to be done there trunk is bigger than the rest ( just noticed this, this morning) and there in the smallest area of dirt between the drive way and the house. the rest had like 1 1/2' wide these only have about 9" for me to work in ugggg!! might meant dig the best I can and tie to rear of truck and give a yank and then maybe see roots so I can cut . we will see lol

Well its getting hot out there so I';m back in the cool den probably will have to put the A/C in later. I put in and take out as I need it don't trust it in the window over night or when not down here.

Ms Pam, thanks for the news from the Kitty.  I have heard of the cat's meow or the cat's pajamas but this is a new one on me.  I had a cat once that lived about 20 years.  They seem to say, "you can pet me but I won't give you anything".  They are pretty independent.  How about this one:  While the Chief's away, the cats will play.

Buckeye, how about showing us that picture at Grover's Corner with you being presented with the grits.

later,

Ray

Re-posting this from todays post to the May Pot:

[/quote]

Brutus:

Thingie is running late - kids are on Summer clock and I lost track of time.  Lucky we have that way-back circuit Laz and Mike rigged up for us.  Sub-Bob fine tuned it and RT found the parts we needed.  Don's neighbor was inspirational as well Laugh  We did find a bag of grits gumming up the works, but Dr. Dennis was able to remove that without any contamination.  Everybody run your beacons and we'll come get you and then go back to get the famous banilla and goodies.  Pat can drive and Jack and I can sit and talk with my Dad for a while.  Just don't bring up politics!  This Coffee Pot is about the only place I go every single day on the web and I feel I have made some real friends here.  I know I left a lot off that list like the Dougs, the Franks, a Bill, some Jims, some Johns, Wes, two Bruces, Chuck, Jon, Ray, Roy, and others who have been and gone, or even come back after a while.  Don't forget Mysty, Penny, and some others.  What ever happened to that guy from the Netherlands, I wonder?  We also miss Reggie and the guy from Alaska, who apparently left the door open late into the year, this year!  Dr. John, Spankybird, it's just too many!  I think there are like 50 guys on here regularly, RT said - that sounds about right.  Glad to know you all Thumbs Up

Thanks especially to the veterans and their families!

Brutus - Thanks for letting me drive. Just be sure your seat belts are on. You know me when Don's neighbor is around!

I am relatively knew to the Pot (only 2 1/2 years) but I feel I know those you mentioned (except Mysty and Penny) and they are a great bunch.

Good Morning

82/94 today, which will be bring storms toward evening. Just finished cutting the grass, what use to be just a chore is now an exhausting job. Send those puddy tats here, we got wabbitts living under the neighbor's porch but come here during the night to dine. They would have been long gone but we can't shoot inside city limits. Enjoy your Monday/Tuesday, last day of May/June 1st....S.J.

Has anybody moved a few cats before? Meow, hiss, hiss!!!Black Eye Big Smile

Moving day will probally be friday or saturday, depends on if the rental agreement goes through and if I feel like moving on friday. Needless to say train layout coming down!! Biggest pain will be the upper level tracks to take down. Also have a p.w. Z & ZW to move, along with a KW. I have a car and small 4 ft. by 8 ft. trailer, so we will try not to rent a truck.

Getting rid of financial money pit!! It seems the more we put in the less we get out, and now the county may come after us for things not done in the past, like permits & C.O. Also Florida's homeowner's insurance going up by 15%, and possibly getting rid of Citizens Insurance Company which is state run. So between the county and the insurance, and loss of income we can't afford to stay!!
