Wow just realized I haven't even looked at the pot today Confused not like me. Been busy at work. hope all had a good day

Jack yeah the bushes are out but wife already wants to plant flowers in there Bang Head told her go for it but when I walk on them don't complain to me as I'm warning you I won't do to do it but I got rid of the bushes as I don't have room to walk there.

The bumper well lets see the truck was bought in VA. and it looks like it had a lot of highway use as it had high mileage so betting trips to D.C. area and we had our share of snow in the area I was in so it has seen salt also ( yeah I know not the snow anywhere near what you all get) Guess down the road will look for one in a junk yard probably a painted one not chrome.

not much else going on tonight watching a few ebay items to see how high they really go lol

Talk with you all later.

Hey Jack:     Re: Water lines. What i did was, after removing an 8 inch wide x 8 foot piece of sheetrock is this. I ran 1/4 inch copper line from carbon filter in basement to back of fridge. Ran it up the back about 3 feet. Strapped it tight against the back wall then( and this is the good part) I added a 1/4 inch, 10 foot long stainlees steel flexible braided burst proof hose from the copper to the fridge with compression fittings. Viola!  A copper pipe that is ridgid and a flexible line that lets you pull out fridge for service.  Just another example of S. G. I. ( superior German intelligence!)    Laugh    Your welcome!    later.

Lunch Time,

Buckeye, RT, I remember the use of punch cards but I was never involved with them.

Roy, you really laid it on Buckeye.

Brutus, Prayers for Char and Fran.

RI Jack: I thought of you when I heard about the tornadoes. I have not heard if we are sending crews to help or not with the power restoration.

Everyone, Have a great day.

sir james I

Good Evening

73 now 80 today but very windy.

Vodka sounds like a good idea but I was kind of hoping that I'd wake up after so I guess I will follow their instructions..lol Those of us that have done this know it's the day before that is dreaded. Banilla is ready for the thingy...S.J.

dwiemer

........Jack, regarding the prep for a colonoscopy, yeah, you can have your clear fluids, but anything that will cause you to be drowsy would be bad after taking the rest of the prep...you wouldn't want anything that could hinder your quick retreat to the bowl........

Hope everyone is having a great day.
God Bless,
Dennis

Greetings Again From Recovering Taxachusetts,

Dennis.......you are a young whippersnapper and hence do not have the vast expereience that SJ, I, and the seasoned veterans on the POT have in such matters.  First, we have long since learned that the medical grade gastrointestinal Drano they have you take works in under 15 minutes, so we just take it and sit down on the pot with some reading material.  It is so effective that the second required dose is both redundant and unnecessary.  Second, I wear a helmet and duck tape myself to the toilet to avoid injury.  Whistling

RT........bet you are glad the bushes removal project is behind you without any further bee sightings. Re the self-inflicted hole in your put in your truck bumper,  I could never understand why the rear bumpers on the trucks disintegrate so quickly. It is vVery common up this way in snow country to see a beautiful, rust-free truck with a bumper hanging off the back that looks like it spent about 100 years at the bottom of the ocean resting next to the Titanic.  Re your pup, so many folks we train with rescue dogs that look horribly abused, grossly underweight, and come with worms and other parasights.  My Dad used to say that you can tell a lot about a society's humanity by the way they treat their animals.....and it doesn't seem like the US fares that well.

DougM.....congratulations on both your sons successfully moving forward to the next grade!  My and your White Sox are doing in my Red Sox, three straight now. Bang Head  "Someone" here on the POT referred to the Red Sox as the "Boston Bums," but I believe they have them confused with the "Bronx Bums."  Whistling

LAZ.......do you have to have a valid PA drivers' license to operate the trains?  On a related note, how long did it take them to remove that derailed train (months back) that wound up in the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg?  Big Smile

Buckeye......thanks for posting the picture of the Chief.  Now there is conclusive proof positive of what grits will do to one's gastrointestinal tract.  Whistling

8N.......glad to hear the R&R in your deck steps worked out successfully in the end.  My redwood deck has 20 years on the clock and is still pretty sturdy.  I had to tighten down a few deck boards Saturday, but the sucker just keeps soldiering on and withstood the onslaught of 40 people at our cookout this past Sunday.  Let's just say that a few of the guests were in the heavyweight division. Whistling

Brutus........the Chewy2004, I love it!  Best wishes for good news on Char's doc appointment. Angel

Lee...... Angel  for good weather and a lot of help for your move.

JoeyD......have a safe and enjoyable trip.  Hope your first place Yankees collapse in your absence.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Roy.......mid 90s?!  Sorry I can't share my high 60s with you today.  That Texas heat sure can be oppressive.

RaySP...... Bow Thumbs Up on your continued recovery from the knee repair.  From the sounds of PT things, the procedure was a complete success.

Buckeye and all........I can remember getting our very first PC in the home about 17 years ago.  I have been pretty lucky.  We are only on our third desktop unit over that time frame, and ours have been doing a lot of triple duty: personal use, business use, and child abuse.  Laugh  This past Christmas our daughter and SIL gave us a 20" Acer flatscreen monitor, our first, which replaced (the now backup) 17" CRT.  Remember the 14" color VGAs when they were king?

DougDG........I think you have to be moved up into the #3 ranking behind Dennis and the Chief for the busiest POT member.  With all of that time you spend with the museum duties, when do you relax?

Traindood......to supply water to the ice cube maker, I use flexible copper tubing from the water source in the basement tucked uo in the basement ceiling joists all the way to a hookup on the basement ceiling, just under the fridge which is one level up in the kitchen.  Then I run plastic tubing from there to the back of the fridge.  The copper has been problematic for me behind the fridge.  Even with adequate slack, and using caution when pulling out the fridge for cleaning, I have twice developed pinhole leaks in the copper behind the fridge.  Trashed the hardwood floor in the kitchen (massive, unrepairable cupping, warpage, and rotting) not to mention how much water (and related damage) I got in the basement before I discovered the leak.  I replace the plastic tubing every decade or so.

Gotta run.  Later gang.  Angel for those who need them.

Mornin' fellas and gals:      Hey Jack; glad you're o.k.  Pics on t.v. were scary! Especially the Connecticut  River where  the water was sucked up into the funnel.  Don't mess with Mother Nature.  Holy Moly Gondoly!  While all this devastation was going on, my ice maker decided to spring a leak!  Yea, you guessed it; some of the water went onto the layout in basement. Swapped out plastic water line for copper one.   Of course I had to cut out the ceiling to get at the line.   Bang Head   What a mess! Anyone who handles wet sheetrock knows.  Gonna leave it open for a while so it could dry out.  Anyone out there has plastic water lines to their fridge should change them to stainlees steel or copper because the plastic lines get brittle over time and break.   later.

Good Mornin' Ya'll From Sunny And A Seasonal 68 Taxachusetts,

Yes, the Bay State has now joined the ranks of the tornado-ravaged.  I was spared.  The center of the wave of storms thankfully veered both to my South and North, while Eastern MA and my county were spared.

The tornado touchdowns all occurred 60-100 miles Southwest, West, and Northwest of me.  There were 19 communities in Western and Central MA. affected.  Springfield and Worcester County the hardest hit.

The forecast had originally called for heavy thunderstorms but suddenly developed into the afternoon/early evening tornadoes, the worst in at least two decades.  Four have been confirmed dead, with two of the fatalities coming from folks caught in their cars.  Damage reported as "extensive."  50,000 without power.  State of Emergency declared.  MEMA, FEMA and 1,000 National Guardsmen deployed.  The Red Cross has followed.  Number who have been left homeless has not yet been reported.

In 1953 tornadoes hit Worcester in central MA, killing 94.  So while we don't live in tornado alley, following the recent tornado events in the U.S. it was apparent that too few here took the tornado watches and warnings seriously enough, the "It won't happen to me" syndrome.

Even after the tornado touchdowns had commenced and were confirmed in points West, folks treated things like it was a normal day.  Around 4:30PM the Route 90 Mass.Turnpike headed West out of Boston through Worcester to Springfield was packed with commuters and with folks driving home from the afternoon Red Sox game, heading right down the gut of the tornado and storm pattern, despite the known dangers and already-known touchdowns!

Me?  I saw what was developing in the mid afternoon and realized that if the storms had continued on their Easterly path that me and mine could experience a direct hit.

I'm a Midwest boy, taught by my Dad to not mess with Mother Nature.  In 1980 I had a tornado touch down 2.5 miles from my home.  So I called my loved ones.  Then I deployed the RI52 Guard (me) into the back yard to empty out the dog's plumbing.  Proceded to move 36 chairs, 6 heavy (still partially-filled) coolers, 5 tables, 2 umbrellas, and 1 pop-up tent into the safety of my basement, the "equipment" which had been deployed for Granddaughter #1's post-First Communion BBQ bash at my place Sunday.  Then I rustled up some grub for dinner and got ready to hunker down in the basement if necessary.  Better safe than sorry.

The wifey and I then spent from 5-8 PM watching the ominous skies while listening to the devastation reports on the TV.

Later, gang.

Jack

Aloha all. Missed the Tardis last night. One of the only nights I could ride whilst working late. Finally figured out this software doesn't work with the various tablets out there. You can read but not post. Ah well. I seldom have anything to say anyway. Big Smile Beauty of a day here too. One of the last days of school. Ray, you're right. Especially at this time of year, the kids keep getting older faster and we stay the same of course. Prayers for those among us requiring various med procedures.  Doug, that's a great museum.  Hope the Springfield twister didn't reach Jack.  Speaking of which, I think the insurer's going to deny my claim for roof damage - notwithstanding the collection of shingles I collected from the yard after our storms.  Ah well.

Sunny and hot today - 95.

I received notice that I have to return my OTTS certificate - so apparently I am being sent one so I can return it? Apparently I have been a super-secret member for many years. Chief may have to make a declaratory ruling? Pirate

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  We tied our first game 3-3 last night.  I played the entire first half as we were short one or two players.  Some more showed at the half and so I got some rest.  Pathway on sidewalk is finally cleared off from storm debris.  Regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Buckeye - depends which one you reply on as well Wink

TARDIS was a little late tonight, still adjusting to the kids' new hours of operation since they are out of school now.  Nothing going on much, at least nothing worth speaking about.  Char has a doc appointment for follow-up tomorrow, so hoping for some good news.  My friend Fran has been sick for 2 weeks and finally went to the doctor.  They are going to scope her up and down and try to find what is wrong with her - praying it's not cancer.  She had not been to a doctor in 20 years except for sinus infections a couple times (includes all doctors) - considering what we do for a living, that is just insane.

TARDIS is ready and fueled, beacons are on the scope, and we are ready to go boys!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evenin' All.

Finally beginning to feel half alive. Three days out of four at the museum, two with the Kids Club, is exhausting. But it was fun !

Saw on the news where Taxachusetts had a tornado today, hope it wasn't in Jack's neighborhood. Sure like Jack's approach to clear fluids but Dennis really put a damper on those thoughts. Embarrassed

I'm definitely not a cat person. When the daughter was a teeneybopper she was cat sitting for a friend here. It was upset when I shooed it off the kitchen counter so it promptly when into our bedroom and whizzed in the middle of the bed. The wife was almost as cranky as I was about that. However I am appreciative of them when they find a few gophers in the yard and dispatch them accordingly.

Good afternoon everyone.  In the process of getting "Honey Dos" done.  Today was actually a good day so far.  No big cases and I was able to catch up on a lot of paperwork.  Also met with a rep to update our reporting system which will fit all the compliance issues that will soon be a part of the government requirements.  Part of this that gets under my craw is that we are very restricted as to sharing patient information, but insurance companies and the government will have access to all our information and they are not restricted at all.

Jack, regarding the prep for a colonoscopy, yeah, you can have your clear fluids, but anything that will cause you to be drowsy would be bad after taking the rest of the prep...you wouldn't want anything that could hinder your quick retreat to the bowl.

Regarding the start of the new pot a day early by of all things...a cat!, I'm with Don, I don't like cats.  I was not too inclined to post a day early on the pot created by such an animal.  My distaste towards cats started when I was watching a cat of a girl I dated years ago....thing got mad and dropped multiple loads all over.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,

Buckeye, thanks for the picture of our man from the old north state.  Nice layout too.

Jack, thanks for asking and I am making progress on the physical therapy.  Had the second session yesterday and it was better than the first.  I kind of wore myself out on Memorial day being on my feet too much what with getting birthday meal together for my #1 son's birthday but feel better today.

I still have a watermellon not cut yet in the fridge.  Think I will tackle that bad boy today.  We had too much food on the holiday and did not need the mellon.  We had homemade birthday cake with whip cream and strawberries on it.  That was really good.  Main dish was farmer style  bar-b-que ribs.  I took one of the left overs yesterday and shredded it up so I could make a little "Carolina" style que out of it.  Had it on a bun with cole slaw.  Yum yum.

Grandson coming over today after school.  He has only about one week left this year and it will be his last in middle school.   He starts high school in the fall.  Man I'm feeling old.  Seems like it was not too long ago when he was born and looked about the size of a football.

Have a good day y'all,

Ray

Well got last 2 bushes out and used the truck to keep tension on them as I cut away. well one time when backing up to get maneuvered correctly I put one of the 1" branch ends thru a weak area I knew about on the rear step bumper. yeah it couldn't of gone over a couple of inches where it would been fine nooo not my luck it called Doug's lawWhistling

Well at least its done. looks a lot better there with out the bushes. I guess down the road like next spring will look for new rear bumper no rush just a 1" hole lol the other side also has a weak spot but heck the truck is 8 years old so can't really complain probably goto a junk yard and get a used one may not be chrome but not worried about that.

Not much else going on will talk to you all later

Happy Hump Day

Never say that in the same breath as colonoscopy....

Partly sunny and mid-90s today.

Yes the Chief steathily infiltrated Ohizo as I did on my visit to Spankybird near Cleveland. With my "Ohizo" background I was able to move freely about the state. Note there have been few incursions into the South. Of course the Grits on the roads get pretty tacky on a hot day slowing progress.

Aloha. Sunny and 80s again today; the Right Sox beat the Red Sox again last night so all is well with the world. Geez, our dachshund makes a lot of noise - which is great when the door bell rings-  but is very timid. He's regularly bopped by each cat as they walk by. Joe, I'll wave as you fly overhead.  Roy, son #1 is also 2 days away from being a senior, and the youngest finishes up 2nd grade next Monday. Glad to have survived the year. (Well, not quite yet).

Percy is an 0-4-0 like Ivor, but you're right, Brutus. Ivor seems to be narrow gauge and slab-sided. Though I could experiment with styrene....
