Don B - SWEET!

Looking forward to seeing you next week!

Traindood - you have a point there - all layout height planning should be based on clearance above the mini-fridge and view from bar-stools. Any other discussion lacks relevance (or is that reverence?).

Evenin' boys.  Evenin' English.  Rain & 49 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Tulips seem to like this weather.  After reading the past 5 pages, sitting here with a Broken Heart.  Hope everything works out for friends and loved-ones.

Spent my afternoons this week (the nice ones at least) prepping the "yatchet" for splashdown.  Thinking Monday -->Pirate  Will actually be working on the water tomorrow.

Hey guys .....

Hope Jacks MIL recoups fast.

Been working trying to get things taken care of BEFORE York week.  Got the taxes taken care, only took 1 day.  Its always interesting to see how the news stories actually relate to the filing requirements.

Also, been working on "traindoc's" layout.  (He will also be at York, along with Lloyd the guy I've been working with).  Lloyd has done the carpentry and will have the lead on the landscaping.  Glen (traindoc) has been providing direction, vision, and coffee.)

Good morning all,

Jack, prayers for your MIL.  Hope for improvement.

D.Baker, nice looking layout and wiring.  Wish I could be going to York with you guys.  I'm sure you will have a great time back there.  Sounds like unusual routing you got on the airline.  I used to go from Ontario to Dallas, then on to Baltimore which is only about 50 miles from York.  Maybe your way is cheaper?  We went through Harrisburg twice which is a little closer to York but not much.  Didn't like the idea of landing at an airport very close to the infamous Three Mile Island nuclear power plant.  They are both right on the Susquehanna River.  I haven't started glowing in the dark yet so I guess it's OK.  Are you going through Reagan airport or Dulles  which is actually in Virginia.  Reagan is right in Washington so I'm guessing that's it.  Would make your tour of Washington a lot easier to depart afterward.  I have done Gettysburg several times.  Great place for Civil War buffs but everyone should see it at least once.  I took the personal guided tour which was great and explained it all in detal.  They will even drive your car if you want through the battlefields while narrating so you can do more looking.

Later,

Ray

Lunch Time,

Very Busy Morning. Pizza for lunch from the pizzaria by the shop. YES, the owner is from BROOKLYN. Good Pie.

Please keep in your prayers Sarah, a co worker's daughter. She is having a feeding tube put in today. She was at the hospital in Cincinati all week. They had her in a special pool scrubbing her skin in preperation for the surgery. Her condition is getting worse.

88/Joe: My OT put me over the top. Well I guess we have to pay "someone's" SS.

Back to work and more dielectric tests on aerial lifts. The temp is dropping and it looks like rain later.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need. It looks like this has been a tough week here on the Coffee Pot.

Looking forward to the Tardis tonight.

Good morning all,

I had no time to post last night as we had a late evening.  Our son had a baseball game that did not end until 2040, and by the time we got home and put the kids to bed I was ready for bed myself.  His team won the game which is part of their pre-season tournament for the town's league.  He has more games Saturday which is when the tournament will end.

Today's high is 89 and it is very sunny outside.  I have a fair amount of work to finish today; I am taking next week off so I don't want to have to come into work for any unfinished tasks.  I had blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning.

SJ - Please wear more than just your badge. Surprise

Jack - I hope all goes well for your MIL.

88 - Due to a slight pay raise, I actually ended up in a higher tax bracket resulting in a lower net income.  All I could do is Laugh

Good day,

Joe

So overall the timing for York is just about perfect, still have time to incorporate new ideas and concepts.

Our plans are:

Monday - Taking "Red Eye", will arrive Tues Morning. (LA to NY to DC)

Tuesday - Stopping by MTH for a possible warranty issue.  Then try to go by TCA Museum and possibly PA Train Museum, then on to hotel in York.

Wednesday - Tours of MTH and Tony Lash's layout

Thursday/Friday - York exhibit halls

Saturday - Possibly take a run out to Gettysburg, then back to DC

Sunday - Possibly a bus tour of DC area?  Depart for LA around 5pm, (DC to Boston to LA)

Will be a VERY busy time !!!

Ditto on the Laugh

What RT didn't tell you was Chief and I thought the Manhattans were lemonade because RT, being a good northern boy, recommended them. It all worked out OK. We enjoyed playing with the BIG trains in that guys basement.

And one call to Brutus and the Tardis was there to take us home. If I had it to do all over again, I would do it all over again!

Aloha. Rainy TGIF. Sore today after a day full of cutting down trees clearing brush, planting grass and powerwashing the deck - after wrestling with the recalcitrant powerwasher. Oh yeah, and worked some too and finished the day with pot roast sandwiches, Barrett-Jackson auctions on the TV and a IM chat with Brutus. Got the teen's grades in the mail. Worse than they were online. Have to chat about that. SIgh.

Jack, prayers for your MiL, Gas is back to 3.99 in Crystal Lake - up to 4.37 in the city, (for regular). Love your reminiscences. They jibe with my dad taking the family in our station wagon for two weeks in a tent trailer at a lake in New Hampshire back when it was wilderness.

Morning all!

Another nice one here today!

RT - good one!

Jack - Angel for your Mother in Law!

LAZ - excellent on the camera. I actually like the older one better. Easier to access the SD card. The new one which my buddy has requires you to take the battery out to get to the SD card.

Mike C - hope it gets better soon.

SJ - are you feeling up to making it to York?

Worked very late last night - ugh - at least I got it done and will not have to mess with it over the weekend.

Another nice one here today - low 80's and cloudy.

Mornin' Fellas.

Visited with the Accountant last night... UGH, UGH, and DOUBLE UGH, UGH! Almost doesn't make earning an advanced degree worth it. Sad, very, very, sad. Susan and I pay more in Federal Taxes than I earned in one year out of college!!!!

New bridge and track should be here today... hopefully I'll be able to get down to the trainroom tonight/tomorrow/Sunday and get the new second level roughed in. I need to test the clearances before locking everything down. Then start planning how to scenic the inside of the open tunnel so it looks good, figure out what I'll need to pickup at York...

I don't know if anyone has realized... but we are over 1/3 done with 2011...

I have to make this fast.  Mother-in-law (87 y/o) fell and gouged both ankles, became severely infected despite Dr. visit and 10 days of oral antibiotics, ulcerated and infection got worse, emergency room, hospitalized, had to have surgery to remove dead skin and clean out the wounds.  IV antibiotics, day 5.....hopefully holding her own.  Say a prayer, boys.  At 87.....

Partly sunny and about 70 today.

The remodel at the office is about done.  I'm going to end up getting an honest to gosh real office with real walls and a door!  Wonder if anybody would say anything if I were to put up a loop of track on a shelf layout?  Probably.  Something like that is unusual, non-standard, and would not be preceived as projecting a 'professional image' - bla, bla, bla.

About all for now.
