It hit only 50 today and it was windy which made if feel colder. It's a good thing it was sunny or I'm not sure how well the older son's baseball games would have went. We went to Edmond, OK, to watch his first machine-pitch baseball tournament. His team won both of their games today and they have two more tomorrow. His team is very good and this is his first year playing with them. He went 0 for 3 in the first game, but after some adjustments he went 3 for 3 in the second game and had four RBIs. He is looking forward to tomorrow's games now that he has figured out the machine. It will be cold again so we'll bring the blankets again.
It's been a long day so I'm off to bed early.

It is rainy in SE Indiana. We spent the day dividing stuff today, mostly the big items (furniture and other such stuff). It went well. Everybody is still speaking to one another so far. Took my side of the family out to eat as sister's side wanted to go home. Still have a lot to do. Watched the fishing video. Never want to hear anything negative about the dangers of soccer again from a certain mayor in North Carolina after seeing what all can wrong in that video. Speaking of soccer, US women are the finals of the Algarve Cup after beating Norway 2-0. My Norwegian soccer friend has not commented on that game for some reason. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.

Really enjoy this new Larry the Cable Guy tv show! They had a pretty fun episode with some train stuff, but honestly every one I've watched has been entertaining. He's dressed like a mermaid in the one I'm watching now!
No trains today, although I did check out some magazines at the bookstore tonight. Family went out to the mall for dinner at Noodles and then wife picked up some clothes while I took the kids to Borders. She did really well with her walker (just in case she got too tired). I actually ordered two train books on Amazon through 3rd party sellers. They were used, but one is about narrow gauge trains all over the world and the other is a history of railroading in the US from 1825 through 1893 (I think off the top of my head). Good deals for used books (Like New).
Doug - have fun batching it man, I foresee pizza and movie nights galore!
Missed the TARDIS tonight, so hope you guys use the wayback circuit and come get me! Chewy said BARK!

It is 32 degrees. About an inch of frozen snow on the ground. Going up to 35 today.
Today is an easy day. I plan on watching the Nascar race from the train room. Time to dust the layout. Trains need to be run.

My author friend, Elmer (the P&BR book with my photos), brought his 2 grandsons (2 & 5)by Friday to play trains. Nice visit, with one major pile-up when little one got button-happy. Grandpop was mortified, but it was ok. Anything to get young ones interested in the hobby is worth a few bumps & bruises.

27 and cloudy, yesterday's rain turned to snow in late afternoon. Man it just won't quit. But it is March and it'll be gone soon. I will be leaving soon for the last big train show of this terrible winter season, looking forward to some friendly chat with old friends.

Not sure about the meet in Millersville . I've always thought about going but usually weekends are so busy. Just so happens that the Mrs. has friends coming that day and I usually disappear for the cackle-fest. I'll let you know.
The Mrs. and I had a great day with our son and his girlfriend. We had lunch in a place that made this wonderful Peruvian chicken roasted over an open flame. Spent time at the Smithsonian then went to a dive bar kind of joint in Northeast DC for dinner. We all shared salads and steamed mussels plus an order of fries for the table. They had some great Belgian beer, so I tried a Chimay Red, excellent choice.
Will try to catch the NASCAR race from Vegas later today.

AF53 Ray, came by last night to pick up and open his packages that he has been getting delivered to my house. He gave the excuse that he wanted to wish his sister a happy birthday. (He really isn't henpecked, I just like to tease him). I have to admit that he has bought some really nice AF items.
Fife, you are like me, I encourage my young guests to run the trains. Keep the interest going. So now I know the TRUE STORY of the GREAT GRITS CAPER.

Good afternoon everyone. Was on camera this morning at church, and will again for the evening service. Since I am on call, my pager was on and I got a page in the middle of the morning service (it was on "silence"). My friend who died this week had asked the family to have me as a pall bearer. I will head up to Columbus tomorrow after my morning case. It is a honor, but I am humbled.

Well, it is a overcast day...still. We have had rain for the last few days. Lawn is in need of cutting and bride has decided she wants me to cut down the garden to start over. Looks like I have some work to do. I am also thinking of a raised garden for fruits/vegetables.

I fully agree I was going to state earlier that Fife had it almost perfect except i thought it was in April at the York train show and not positive of the year either but the story was correct to my recollection

Looked into replacement smoke elements for the 2025 and noticed the liquid smoke conversion kit at Brasseur's. I had problems w/ the lead of the original. It works, but not very well. Worth making the conversion?

Thanks Bob there going to be top knotch tmcc soon lol will be a nice set. I replaced the smoke unit on a 2026 one time and remember it wasn't straight forward replacement as one wire I needed to solder to frame wasn't really long enough to start. ( it was the engine I put on track and had a cheap transformer and it would try to run but wouldn't so I figure well maybe not enough power lets break out the ZW ( yes I went from like a 35 watt transformer to 250 Watt transformer just a little more kick) anyway I gave it some power nothing so gave it full power it went down the track with a 3" flame coming out the stack yes i burned the smoke element out which was shorting sure scare the daylights out of me ) ( checked pants afterwords to make sure all was fine.)

Waiting for nicer weather, although the sun was out today. I did laundry, read a book, played some videogames, and hooked up my daughter's tv she bought. I need to get an hdmi cable for it, but we did have some old composite cables she can use in the meantime.
We had pizza and a movie tonight - watched Due Date, which was pretty hilarious. Now my wife is watching Amazing Race and I'm chatting with RT and CNW Doug
Tardis is ready and my wife went shopping, so we have plenty of supplies

Supposedly you can still find them at Walgreens, but a better place to find items of this type is a scrap booking store. Scrap booking stores have all sorts of things you can use for sticking something to something else. Here's the one I have used: http://www.archiversonline.com/

Rain and heavy at times here at Exit 8....
Fixed a couple of fire truck lights today, dinner at cracker barrel with a friend and her daughter...was very good!
Yesterday was nice except for the wind...then clouds. Had a fire call in the township...aluminum wires in a wall and no breaker trip. Was out when we arrived, fortunatly. Spent the evening at Cranbury FD covering for them while they partied. Nice new firehouse and big screen TV, pool table and darts. Was good, back home by 1130 PM.
