Sorry Mike - prayers for your family and loss, but especially for your Dad and his procedure.

Joe - I would second that traintender recommendation!  Good service.

Nothing much going on here - getting used to the new glasses today.

Tardis ready - we have banilla or banana flavors of icecream as well as all the usual toppings, so lets get a move on boys :)

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

fifedog

Stayin' frosty boys.  Fifepup still Bang Head over the game.

Toy-Train Question--- Can I charge 2 MTH engines (1 with older 8.4, and 1 with newer 7.2 batteries) at one time.  Saw where Dbaker referenced this in the past, but just can't locate a definitive answer in a timely manner.  Nothing mentioned on the MTH site.

Fife,

I have the MTH charger with 2 leads, one for the "cigar" type connector, and the other with the Molex connector.  I have used it but never tried charging 2 batteries at the same time.  I would be surprised if it would work, I think the efficiency would be quite low.  Of course if used the charger on one battery, and set the engine on the track in neutral for a period of time.  Will be interesting what you find out.  Sorry for posting so late, just got home.

Worked most of the weekend, it was "OK" but certainly wasn't great!  Still working with my "plumbing" problem, will try again tomorrow.  Then son's car has had a problem with the drivers window.  Ordered a Regulator/Motor assembly, in the process of installing it the "blind" bolt stripped.  So will have to see if can come up with a new plastic retention nut tomorrow.  If its not one thing its another.  Oh well, atleast they are minor problems.

Getting late, hope everyone has a great day!

Hi GUYZ,

Off today for MLK Day.  Gotta fix up my gradebook on computer then do a 3.5 miler inside on treadmill.  Weights later then solder some more power drops on fasttrack on the second loop.  Then of course run trains.

Aloha. Not too many on the train, the streets of the Loop or in the office. Maybe celebrating the Bears win. Should be a fun game next week. Anyway, got a great parking spot at the train station. Looks like 3-5 inches today. Have to do something with the Chinese Pres visiting Chicago Thur. Not sure what yet. Might have to squire some underlings.

Morning All:

Mike C - Read where IRS isn't sending out tax packets this year for 2010. Have to down load it from their web site. This forces some, mostly older folks, to get computers and internet hook up. There is an 800 number to order packet, but doubt they will have enough to send out.

Navyjack- Weather here in central VA cold but no snow. The snohio snow deflector shield is working fine.

Brutus - Happy birthday to Chewy.Happy B-Day

Mornin' Fellas.

Busy weekend around here. Still haven't gotten down to the train room to do any work. Sad One of these days.

I knew the guy that runs Choo Choo Auctions. Nice fellow. Met him when he had a store front in Erie, PA (Train City).

Good morning all,  Got to get ready for colonoscopy this week starting prep on Thursday.  Will enjoy first three days this week before going on clear liquids Thursday. Yuk!

Weather here is nice lately with temps in th mid 70's to 80 in some places.  No rain in sight so maybe the folks in snohio will get less as time goes on..

Five, count em, five collie dogs next door bark everytime somebody walks past their house next door.  Some of the dogs have had their voices altered by a vet to lower volumn but I can still hear them.  It's starting to get old.  I don't like the idea of "fixing the voices" like that though.  I think it is cruel.  Problem is, just too many dogs or not enough training.  Only good thing is that we will get plenty of warning if strangers are in the neighborhood.

Have a good week,

Ray

Good afternoon all,

A bad day yesterday got worse today.  Dad is looking at cancer now.  Talk about a blindside.  Prayers needed.  Procedure today was a biopsy on the liver.  Will know results by Thursday or Friday.  Procedure on Thursday is striclty for evalutaion purposes only, no fixes involved then.  Only good thing is that sister will be here to discuss options.  Thanks in advance for all the support.  Got to run.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Chief,

If you would keep the weapons INSIDE, you wouldn't have to clean them every time it rains !

Evening All !

Had kinda/sorta productive day.  Took Chris' car to a window shop, and as I expected have to get a new window.  The nylon clip that secures the window to the scissor assembly is stripped, and can't really replace it, because it clamps right onto the glass.  Surprising the window isn't that expensive. Also door need a new rubber guide, so he will put it all together tomorrow.  Problem solved.  Got yard mowed, it actually looks like someone lives here now.  Then did some work on a 4 truck MTH Shay, upgraded it from a PS1 to a PS1.  Works great and sounds a LOT better!!  Boy will it ever smoke you out of the room.  Tried to order some things but half the businesses are closed and those that are open won't ship till Tuesday.  Did some cleaning in the train room.  And, tonight going to work on a Control Panel layout.

Mike prayers for your Dad, hope it is caught early enough that the treatments are effective.

Laz, you should have talked to Ray (SP), I'm sure he could work an arrangement on some Collies real cheap!

Another train show coming up this weekend in Anahiem, not sure whether or not I'm going to go, parking is really expensive and there are not any places near by where you can get around it.  Probably wouldn't buy anything anyway, going to save the $ for later on.

Take care, and warmer weather is on the way!  We have just had the 4th day of near 80 degrees, so it should be back there soon.

Evening all

Charlie – Is that a corner office with a view?  Glad you did not get hurt.  How is the lady?

Mike - special prayers for your Dad and for all of you.

Nice outside today.  Got into the mid 40’s.  I replaced the O2 sensor on the Toyota.  Rented the removal tool from AutoZone.  Made the job go real easy.  It was hard to get to but long arms are an advantage.  Would of been great to have an eye at the end of my finger!

Good night and God bless

Mike - Prayers to you and your family. I'm sure all will turn out well for everyone.

Don - Just how much are they charging to park? Seems to me that between parking and door admission sometimes it's best to buy through trusted friends you dealt with before or though EBay. I understand all there is at shows but.....

Laz - Good luck with the pup, they ARE man's best friend!

Good evening all,

It's been a nice couple of days weather-wise.  Yesterday, I cleaned and oiled some PW coal hoppers that were in need of some TLC.  I also made some inserts for them out of foam board I sprayed with some black textured paint.  Now I will not have to use as much coal to fill them.  I was able to enjoy the football games while I was working on the cars.

I was off today for the holiday and somehow I managed to sleep in until 1040.  My wife was feeling very kind this morning and got up with the three kids so I could sleep in.  We went out for lunch and some quick shopping, and then I completed a bridge I made out of wood, mostly balsa.  It is nothing special, but now I need to decide if I want to stain it, or somehow try to make it look like steel using paint.  After dinner, I ran the trains for about 30 minutes.

Mike C. - More prayers for your father.

I think I will go read for a bit and then get some sleep even though I have not been awake for 12 hours yet.

Laz - good deal, sounds like a real sweetheart Smile

Took wife to doctor appt today.  We didn't hear her liver numbers, but regular blood counts were all normal now Thumbs Up  This coming Friday is her 1 year anniversary of when we began the treatment.  They changed some meds and Monday she will have a biopsy to see how well her bone marrow is doing.  Doctor said he'll fax in something for me for an excuse from jury duty - otherwise I would have jury duty on Monday.  Sure hope they let me off, as my Mom is busy taking care of my Dad and her Mom doesn't want to travel with Winter weather.

Tardis is ready, so let's hit the road!
