Hi GUYZ,

Hope all had a great Christmas holiday and SANTA brung YUZ GUYZ all your STUFF.  Was nice to spend 4 days up at MOMs.  Had about 4 inches o snow and with winds hitting 50 MPH with wind chills down in the -10s we didn't go out with the Flintlock muzzleloader.  I came back today, no snow here, unloaded all my gear and went for a 3.5 mile run.  Felt good to get outside and do something after being cooped up for a few days.  Speaking of wind....

A NS can train got blown off the ROCKVILLE Bridge in Harrisburg.  Here is a link to it.

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2010/12/railroad_crews_start_clearing.html

They started cleaning up the mess and said that the cans were empty?  They were going to Chicago.  Speaking of which...

DOUG M, BEARS WIN!!!!!! 11-4,WOW!

CHIEF, HO HO HO!  Your gift is on the way.

Stay frosty,

Aloha all. Cold and sunny.  Wow, that is one weird wreck, Laz. Go Bears!  Can you work a flintlock in bad weather - damp or wind? I would imagine it would be tough to get a spark.

Mitch, I hope you get that hernia taken care of...  Brutus, hope Char stabilizes again.

Didn't do much today it seems... some cleaning, grocery shopping with the bride (she has a system, I just tried to stay out of the way LOL), then drove to Palatine to pick up the youngest from an overnight with his grans - they took him and his cousin sledding all day. They have more energy than I do! Set up their Sony e-photo frame. Got all the way back home and realized I forgot his boots. Oh well.

Hope that leak is a simple fix, Don.

Sunny and mid 30's today.

Stripping and re-painting trim in the upstairs bathroom today.  Fun, fun.

Ran trains a bit yesterday.  Put all 5 of my ACF 40 ton stock cars behind my cheapo 442 NYC locomotive.  Runs well & looks pretty good as too.

All for now.

Mitch - prayers!

Cold in Saint Louis, but it did warm up enough to start cooking off some of the snow we had.  Got up at 5 AM today to get to work early so I could be home in time to take the family out for eye doctor appointments.  3 of us need new glasses of course!  Then we picked up some Chinese food and watched Psych on the DVR.  Wife and daughter are digging on Glee now, while I do a little computing.

Tardis will be ready, so TTFN.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 30s.  Snow is melting a little.  Got the train stuff from the museum.  Lucas and GF made connection in Chicago and are headed to North Dakota on Amtrak.  He texted us that I would appreciate the dome cars.  Bought wrapping paper and cards for next year at 50% off.  Enjoyed perusing the CTT that arrived Monday.  Watched a show with "Saucy Wench" tonight.  A nice quiet day today for the most part.  I had sausages and waffles for breakfast again.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evening all,

Sorry for not keeping close tabs, been busy at home and work and church.  Going to let the budget recover before getting any more train stuff for a while.  Bride got me the 1/64 Ertl farm house for the layout when I get it rebuilt.  Slowly cleaning out the basement for the layout.

Good night and may God bless

Good night all.  Went fox hunting for a couple of hours this afternoon.  Hung a deer rib on a string from a ceder limb where I usually see a fox.  Worked.  About 3 PM he slipped through the bushes [I could see the shadow against the snow still left in the shaded area], half circled. looked at the bait, came out and then looked at me.  Mistake.  Never knew what hit him.  Like it like that.  Then went to Hunters Haven and SECU.  Got call from Fred.  Two teenage girls were wondering through the woods around the pond.  Found them crossing the street at the ball park.  Looked like they were 12 or 13 [but big for their age].  Gave them a strict warning.  Told them they had walked near a hunter and should always stay on the easement.  They said they got lost.  Told them to not walk that property again without an adult.  Bad boys lived in the doublewide at the top of the hill [they had just walked by it].   They thanked me.

LAZ and Barry came through again.  LAZ, you got mail asking who to pay.

Off to bed.

Hi GUYZ,

Nice one here at 24 to get to 36.  Watched the WUSSES I mean Eagles(not FRANK) loose last nite.  Going out with the flintlock this afternoon on neighbors land.  He has 200 acres of part MT. part farm so we'll see what goes.  Only gonna shoot at bucks, don't really want to kill a doe.  We'll see?

DOUG M, these flintlocks are tough enough to go off when the weather is right but in blowing wind and snow its almost impossible.  And we won a war with these?

CHIEF, your NS Fs went out this morning maybe you'll get em before the new years?  Enjoy!

Good Morning

weather is the same, cold.

We had a pleasant evening with Charlie and his family. Played with the choo-choos too. Ran a pink GG1 for his daughter, then 3 docksiders pulling 6 Hogwarts coachs and the last a scale Hudson freight. Then a chat with Charlie and Brutus on this here thing....S.J.

IIABSDISEI with rain on the way later on to wash away the Snohio.  Enjoying vacation.  It is nice to have house to ourselves and really nothing to work on.  I could get used to this.  I had streusel on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all, rain coming down now in Southern California.  Predictied cold temp to follow this week with low around 35 one night.  That's downright artic for here.  Looks like old dead eye Chief dropped another one of those pesky foxes.

Finally saw in the paper who is playing in the Rose Bowl.  It is Texas Christian and Wisconsin, not that it makes any difference to me.  Some high school band playing in the Rose Parade coming from Pennsylvania was having a heck of a time getting a flight.  I think they finally got one.

My #1 son and his family along with his wife's relatives are returning here from Las Vegas tonight and will pick up cockateal bird tomorrow.  That rascal is giving me a fit trying to get him back in the cage after I let him out for a while.  I think I'm going to have to put him in solitary if he keeps this up.

Snow elevations are suppose to lower to around 2500 ft by tomorrow.  Hope my son makes it over Cajon Pass before it snows.

Called my sister in Virginia yesterday.  They still have a lot of snow on the ground in Suffolk, Va.

Laz, good luck with the flint lock.

later,

Ray

Brent,

Sorry to hear about that regarding the adoption.

Laz,

I saw that derailment on the news yesterday.  I didn't think wind could do something like that.

I was sick with the flu for the past few days thanks to one of our 15 Christmas guests.  I am feeling better, so I figured I'd check in.

Finally got the 30B done on the 23rd, and it works to my suprise.

I need to overhaul these next.

Here is a small shot.

Merry Christmas guys!!

CHARLIE or SIR JAMES,

I just got done watching the video on the other forum of your train party, NEAT.  Is that layout all loops or is there switches on it to connect all the tracks?  Just wondering?

Thanks,

Laz,

The layout has crossovers and also a large yard.  I am not sure if the uppermost loop connects.

some sun and 30 today

Laz I don't think they do, the loops are so large I never really noticed. There is some unfinished track work as a move by Bob and family was expected but a buy elsewhere has not been made at this time. I just had a lazy day, waiting for the few days of above 32 to arrive. Banilla and cookies are waiting for the thingy..S.J.

Aloha. A bit under the weather today. Shouldn't be allowed on a day-off. Sad

Blownout,
I'll join your prayers for your friend.

Brent, sorry to hear about your adoption process - there's some cultural issues at work here - the medicals from Russia almost always look disastrous because they never want it to look like they'd allow 'normal' children to be adopted out of the country. That said, there's usually fetal alcohol-related issues.... I can tell you more off-line.

39 degrees today for the high temp I think.  We had a misty rain all day - blech.  Dad has some infection in his new knee, so he's getting cut on tomorrow and have it all cleaned out and sanitized.  Sounds like the prosthesis is okay, so just a set back.  Wife has a bone density test in the morning, then regular labs and regular doc appt.  I'll take off early to get her and bring her home, since Mom will be with Dad.  Then I have a 3 day weekend Smile

Tardis is about ready so turn on the beacons.

Prayers out for Mitch and Blownout's friend, as well as for us all and our friends and loved ones.  Where is JimSP?  Have I been missing his posts?

Brutus,

Thanks.  I never thought it would work, but it is holding up so far.  I had to strip another transformer for some parts, but it was worth it.  Prayers for Char and your Dad.  BTW, have you considered getting Need For Speed?  Online is great.

I spent this afternoon doing battle with a TIU.  It no longer receives power from Fixed 1, so I have to use the Aux. power input.  Almost had to "buy a book" to fix this.Dots - Sign  Things like that remind me what is great about postwar.  No battery and board dependent products.

Prayers for Brutus's Dad and Char.

Thanks LAZ for the help.

Evening all,

Fife - Thanks for the nice comment.

Jim GP - Nice looking 30B, great transformers!

Jim F - I've not been posting much lately because I have been really busy.  Work is taking extra time, the kids have basketball and cub scouts, and a couple of weeks ago my bride fell on the ice going in to work and pulled several muscles.  By evening I am wiped out.  After evening prayers I zonk out.

I am going to try and be a little more responsive in 2011!

Good night and may God bless
