Good evening all,
I woke up to some cold rain this morning. It forced me to run on a treadmill at the gym. Unlike most people who run, the treadmill hurts my knees and ankles - I have no issues running outside on the pavement or concrete. Needless to say, it was a harder 3-mile run than it should have been. Plus, I find running on the treadmill very boring, even with music or television. My wife was in OK City today so I picked up the older two kids from school and stayed home from work the rest of the afternoon. The rain has still been on and off. We had Mexican food for dinner tonight and did not do much afterwards.
Tomorrow, the wife will be going to a Christmas craft fair with a friend and I will be holding down the fort with all the kids. It is supposed to be cold again tomorrow so I'm not sure if much layout work will get done. I don't want to bring the baby out into the cold garage. Also, PSU plays OSU at 14:30 CST. After my wife returns, my older son and I may walk around looking for small rocks we can use on the layout; we need some for where the water meets the shore banks on our lake. I have one layer of realistic water down and I want to do another layer once some rocks are in place.
I know most of the folks here frequent eBay as I do too. Has anyone noticed the prices seem to be higher as we get closer to Christmas? It seems that way to me anyway.
CNW – No worries, it’s my pleasure to serve. It is what God has called me to do.
I'm off to bed. I'll say some prayers for all those in need.
Good night,
Joe
Wow, we have been blessed. Tim [Pigseye] and Elliot [Bigboy] coming back to visit. Pigseye, will remember that trip forever. Was fun though.
Stuck at home "peeing" dogs. Was just awaken by them wanting out. Would not go out at all if not for them [Wifey enjoying NY]. SICK!!!!!! Was fine and suddenly came from meeting in Raleigh to meet with House Member. By the time we finished talking, I had sore throat, ear ache, teeth hurting and YELLOW [yuck]. Came home and been inside except for dogs.
Sleep tight and I hope the dogs let me sleep late [usually Wifey gets up early with them so they think I need to do the same].
Good night all.

It is cloudy in NE Illinois. It has been a good two days. Looking forward to Train Fest tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Tim, welcome back to the fun filled pot. Must be something good going on as we are having all these familiar faces showing back up after quite the hiatus. Hope that life has treated you well sir. Was thinking about you earlier this week as a friend was out your way Elk hunting. He saw a monster, but was not able to get a good shot at him.
Doug, I am thinking about heading to a meeting in San Diego in January. Need to check on things, but if I do, I will give you a heads up. I enjoyed the last time I was out that way....we stayed at the Del.

Hi Guys.............Good to see the Chief is still kicking. I have been absent for a couple of years now, since packing up the layout at the other house. Now have a new house and a 15x22 train room that I am painting now. I kept all the benchwork from the last one.
Last time I saw the Chief it was in Coeur d Alene in the middle of a blizzard....come back for a visit, and I promise good weather.....HA
Look forward to you guys input on my new track layout.......which I haven't even thought about yet.
Tim........................BTW I am now.... pigseyes.2..........a new name !!!!
Howdy guys - back at work today to send money to those SS guys :)
Mother-in-law's car got scraped by a guy on a motorcycle who was speeding on the highway. Everyone was okay though. There were witnesses and stuff. She did have to get a new tire. In other news, one of my sisters is pregnant and found out it will be a girl and another sister has a gallstone, so she will have to get that fixed up tomorrow I guess. Char is doing better - got to visit with the kids today for about an hour. Still having some difficulty with food, but a little better each day.
Tardis is ready, just after we make a phone call.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good Evening
A nice sunny day, 50s.
I got banilla and will wait for Brutus and the thingy...S.J.

Chief, told the wife what you said about needing more people who speak English at your McDonalds and she they need more at hers. Feels left out when they are in a group chatting away in spanish.I did tell my daughter to apply so she could study spanish while she works.Might help her grade.
hey ray, i have heard that the european trains made by mth are great, but out of my price range. they do make a gorgeous british pacific. because of the price, i am limited to versions of the lionel hall class 4-6-0, which i am thankfull for. the lionel engines are about 150 vs mth 1100 plus. probably worth every cent but i cant afford is all. the croc is cool also as i favor electrics. like everyone else i suppose i buy what i can, and appreciate what i cant. navyjack
Navy Jack, what about the European trains that MTH is making now? Are any of those models of English trains? Now as to being affordable, that's another question.

DougM.....oh no, not you too!!! Wife went back to the Doc Wednesday, put on antibiotics (as a precaution, I think) and went in for a chest xray yesterday, results pending. Crud continues for us both, day 14, but we are both improving and feeling a bit better. Thanks for all of the good thoughts, guys.
JohnB.....snow in the UK? Wow!!!!
Colin.....nothing compliments you and your family quite like taking the polite and high road. Others will follow your lead. And most will respect you for it.
Later, gang.
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Aloha all. TGIF from a greyer Chicago. I had the biggest surprise from the bride yesterday: She pulled out a Christmas file to prep for her holiday shopping- pulled out two Hornby Duplo club magazines from the early 90s and showed them to me, saying, do you want these or shall I throw them out? She can't remember where she got them - and they certainly are not easy to find. Now I have two wonderful things to read: Highlight of my day! I heard a smokestack came down the wrong way during a demolition in Columbus, Ohio. Where's Buckeye? Brutus, glad it was only a battery. Jim, that's a heck of a big switch. Joe, I want to specifically thank you for your continuing service. Laz, my teen wants to become a teacher of auto mechanics at a high school when he 'grows up' John, when those A380s come over, I hope you duck in case more engine parts fall off. I should talk, one of Chicago's own Boeing Dreamliners caught fire the other day. I think I'm done museum-visiting this week. Got a bit of a bug I think... hope I shake it off.

Morning guys! Just got home from class, so now, sometime today, I'm gonna cut a few lawns as finals for the season and then head to Philly for the Temple game tonight. Tomorrow morning I'm heading up to Lansdale for a Dyno Day to see a few high HP cars. Sunday is gonna be dedicated to more cars, specifically detailing them. I actually get enjoyment out of detailing cars because it's on of the things that relaxes me in life...plus, there is no better color then shiny black after a full wash, clay, polish, detail and wax!
Dennis, thanks! I'm honestly shocked by the people my age around me these days...no respect, no thanks, no manners. If I was like that I would have been punished! I tell my girlfriend that she needs better manners and she has slowly started to listen! Bad manners of any sort tick me off!
It does feel nice to be able to talk to you guys again, but I have no idea what's going on in the O Gauge world right now, but I saw the Lionel ES44AC's and they are amazing!
Well I'm gonna go do some work! Talk to you guys later!
Colin
Good Morning

Morning. Early meeting with DOT. Then meeting at lunch in Raleigh. Back to Rolesville to meet with House Rep. Busy day.
Dennis, using one piece coated rods. Tried a "fiber" rod on .17 and tip broke the first time I tried to send a patch through.
Chat later.
BTW: Wifey in NY City. Enjoyed her train ride and got in early than scheduled.
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Sunny & 36 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to be pretty this weekend...might spend the night on the "yatchet".
Mr Ryan sure did pick apart the ravens secondary last night; still, the purple birds had a chance.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is 30 degrees. Going up to 62 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have to take my dog to the Vet, for his yearly shots. Then, run an errand. Maybe I'll have time for a nap, later.
Buckeye and LAZ.....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,
23 and very frosty here, to get to 60. Sucking up leaves today after school then fire with wife.
Run trains tonite?
Morning all. Sorry I missed a heart filled thanks to the Vets yesterday. We have been very busy and I didn't have a chance. Have to head back in now, so don't have time to read all the posts. Did see that Colin checked in....good to hear from you. In some ways, you have grown before us on the forum. I see you as a young man full of good character...and that is quite a lot these days. Good luck to you.
Chief, with the cleaning kits for your rifles, you should use a non-sectioned rod and a bore guide so it doesn't harm the rifling. You have a good bit of money in those rifles and I would not want anything to mess that up.
Gotta run,
Rainy and in the 50's today. Needed the rain, though.
Happy Veteran's Day. And thanks to those who are.
Was hoping to get Friday as vacation, but I've got to keep pushing a couple of projects to keep them on time. Maybe can take Monday as vacation if all goes well tomorrow and Saturday. Been working long hours lately and might not get all of my vacation in this year. Anybody else think something is a little fishy there? Oh well. It is not that bad, as I enjoy what I do and I'm thankful to have a job to compalin about.
Waiting breathlessly for the Lionel November release items I have on order.
All for now.
Had our first snow of the winter here in Jolly England.
GRITters are out on the roads.
An Emirates A380 Super Jumbo passes over my home every lunch time. No sign of a Tardis, perhaps its out of banilla.
John Baker
Hiya guys - hope everyone had a great Veterans Day
Got the truck fixed - needed a new battery and a cable was going bad. Spent most of the day hanging out with my wife at the hospital. She is doing a lot better this week and tests have shown a lot of improvement. Thanks for all the prayers and good intentions.
Good luck Rich, got my fingers crossed for you!
Nice talk with SJ and Charlie, but it's late and I'm tired - Tardis away!
The wife and I had a nice day together. We ate lunch at Applebee's and had only had to pay for our drinks. We then did some Christmas window shopping for the kids' presents. After the two older kids came home from school, I helped them with their homework and then took my daughter to jazz class. While she was dancing herself silly, I took my older son for a quick ice cream snack. My wife made breakfast for dinner tonight: banana-chocolate chip pancakes, fried eggs, and bacon. I do enjoy eating breakfast twice in one day.
Not much else is going on, so I'm off to bed early.
Good evening
A nice day for november.
I had a busy morning but goofed off this afternoon. Talked to Charlie as he drove home tonite..Banilla is waiting.S.J.
Evening all
Colin - Glad you're back
Jim - Great buy on the track and roadbed.
I missed the parent conferences today. Bride went but the maintenance took longer than expected on the Aux Sub we took out at work and I need to stick around to restore it as the supervisor did not have experience with 13.8 kV switchgrear.
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Back from the lake house delivering my chest freezer [got my 10%]. Already cold and put some frozen foods from frig freezer in there. Now that is better.
Went by GC and their Veterans Meal is Monday. Can't make it as Mayors' Assoc. that night.
Now to clean rifles. Bought a cleaning kit for the lake house today. That will help me clean them there and not have to bring them home to do.
Later.
Colin great to hear from you again. Getting a job on the rail road would be great If I had to do it over again I myself might look at that but too old for it now and to out of shape for it now also.
To my fellow Vets thanks for your service. I spent the day serving food to my fellow vets and it felt great. Always does but especially on days like today
Hope all had a good day today.
