Aloha all. Grey and warmish here. Survived class last night. Long day of meetings leading to meetings. Ah well. At least I am gainfully employed. Found my conductor friend to give him a few more CTTs. Happily down to just a few. Love to give them away to enthusiasts and kids.

Morning, Guys!
Up to get to Woodbridge today for job(s). Looks nice again, lower 70's later on.
Nice to see you Laz! Sorry about your friend ....
Started training for Baltimore County...1 mile with bunker pants, boots and air pack (no, I walked, didn't run). The locals looked at me funny...Physcial testing starts in October/November..Hey Fife, sounds like another visit..as long as I'm not sick....
I'll be back tonight, have to shower and shave and get on the road...35 miles from here...
See ya later!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Morning all. Warmer today. Fall is not here even though the calendar says so. Cooling next week and maybe rain.
Over the hill blow hard band leader is wondering around in the west. Need to call and see if he has made it back home. Should have some great photos to share.
Gald to see LAZ back and posting. Missed to old Yank during the summer. Think this is his last year before he is going to be "retarded" [as the little boy said about his Grandad who was retired].
Speaking of retirement, Wifey has now said she is retiring Dec 2011. She will have 33 years. Not close to that good free SS. She wants to get a part-time job to keep her busy.
Have a good day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Going up to 88 today with a chance of rain.
Today is an easy day. I plan on taking it slow. A few chores to do and then relax. I need to do some reading and paperwork, later. Legs feel better from PT. Had a good walk yesterday.
Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck

Morning all. Getting ready to head in. Did not sleep well last night and it will make for a long day. Have plenty to do as wife's family are coming in this weekend. Perhaps I can hide in the train room???
Has anyone heard from the Iowa bandleader lately? I have not seen him post recently. Hope all is well by him.
We are having a conference at church this coming week, so plenty to pray about and prepare for. As they say, revival starts in the heart.
God Bless,Dennis

Good morning all,
Rain is supposed to be in SE Indiana today. I played 50 minutes of my best soccer ever in a 1-1 tie last night. We had 9 players and they had 10 so no subs. It was in your face, grind it out, gut it out, stay on your feet until you drop soccer last night. I played right fullback the entire game and was guarding two players at once (admittedly not their best ones) at several points in the game. We were in our defensive half most of the game, but held on to earn that tie. After that we went over to J C Penneys to pick up some Dockers that were on sale, and then back to home. I was tired, but it was soccer tired. I slept well. I had the regular fare on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL any time, but it will have to be a short night for me. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Well, Town Board over. Having trouble with the Mexicans and Farmers. Farmers are telling their workers to break the traffic laws and they are exempt due to farm business. Not all are farm business. Then when stopped the farmers raise "sand" [another word fits better but will not post on here]. Then they go to the local store and trash "their" Mexicans. Real "bunch". Calling a meeting of the farmers and Town. Get an agreement on what is and what isn't. Then if they cause trouble, I can trash them. One or two hard heads in the bunch. Think they are above reproach.
Nothing on the agenda for tomorrow so will clean house for wifey. Check pond and shooting range. Think we have some one slipping in and firing 7.62, 9MM and .22. Found the brass on the ground [all our shooters "police up" their brass]. Went in twice in late in the evening and fired while I was gone last week [Pam heard them]. Now wondering if they are stolen weapons [especially since 7.62 is not popular anymore]. Also shot up a few things "members" would not shoot. Getting down my bullet proof vest and putting it in the truck. If they pull it again and I'm home, they are caught.
Popcorn and then to bed.
Partly cloudy and about 80 today.
Banks - I'll agree that the antique tractor pulls are entertaining. A whole lot less frantic than the 'regular' tractor pulls. Those old 2 cylinder Deere's really can pull - about the time it seems they have stopped, the other cylinder fires, and the tractor moves ahead a couple more feet.
All for now.
Good Evening
90 today, still 80, and of course a storm watch is in effect. I got the grass cut and granny Pat cleared out the flower beds, except for the few hardy plants still blooming. banilla is waiting for the thingy so swing on by....S.J.
Evening all
Rich and others looking for work, you are in my prayers.
Getting an order ready for Portlines; the parts for the Washington 21089 set. Maybe order during lunch Wednesday.
Got the garage door fixed. I had to re-enforce the top of the door. The repair does not show from the outside.
The guy who ownes the 5th wheel we looked at a few weeks ago called and accepted our offer. The bride when she returns and I wil testit out and if everything works we'll get it. That will mean the truck camper will go up for sale. Anybody need a truck camper?
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Well just saw buckeye and blueberry on tv there trying to really get southern as they were in delaware, Ohio in a lawnmower race.
afternoon all. Chief and pat better watch the boundries with those 2.
Not much happening here just taking it easy.
Talk to you all later have a good day

Beautiful day here near Exit 8....loving it. Took a stroll around one of my favorite junk yards here looking for parts for a friends cars...and came up empty....again. But it was nice to walk around there anyway.
Nothing on the job front, yet..job fair tomorrow...and the sun also rises... . There is always hope, just not enough cash...lol!
Check back inna few...
Evenin' boys. asch. Sunny & 73 here in the mid-Atlantic region. Wifey and I spent the weekend in WV. I think we found our new building site. Now, to figure out how we're gonna finance it (I'm not a mayor or anything like that...).
Did a little railfanning too. Got up close and personal with South Branch Valley 722 (repainted into B&O passenger colors), and caught some CSX action up in Cumberland and Hancock.
88 - There are a couple of stores in my parts that you should check out for nautical stuff. A trip to Chesapeake City wouldn't hurt either.
laz - a little warning next time. I went the whole summer without "our" routine, and I pulled a hammey reading your post.
RockIsland52 Brent.....the new addition is the favorite room in your house? That sounds like the comment of a man who has taken one too many headers off a ladder and is outright blasphemy.

Good afternoon everyone. Rich, glad you made it back and hope you didn't get too full of embalming fluid! Seemed each group had their own concoction they were known for. One place we used to go to had a big jar of cherries that they would empty the juice out of and then fill it with moonshine. Everyone would sit around eating cherries and when they were done, the jar was passed around. With regard to the parade, I remember some very unusual apparatus with paint schemes to match! Perhaps the best part were the clowns, I think from Wallington? on the little go-cart fire engines. It has been since 1990 that I was up there for it.
Chief, know what you mean about not getting time to post. So much of life seems to get in the way. Hope you have some fun, safe shooting up there. I really need to break out some of the weapons I have not fired in a lOOOng time. Some have never been fired.
Had to do evaluations for work this week. I have had them done for awhile in my head, just needed to write them and pass along. Went pretty quick. They even wanted me to evaluate myself...HaHa!
I better get going as I have a dental appointment soon.God Bless,Dennis
Just a quick splash and go......
Got down to 42 last night, lowest temps since last Spring. Low 70s and partly cloudy now. Bone dry again! Regarding the changing of the colors, the leaves are turning a few weeks early up this way as well due to the hot and dry Summer. Normally we have some leaves left on the trees at Halloween, but such may not be the case this year.
Wifey and I have been talking about taking in Salem MA (the Witch City) some time during the month-long Haunted Happenings events throughout October and culminating on Halloween. It would be the first time for us. Lived here 22 years and have not been to a single one. Salem is just 4 miles South of us, but the crowds are way over the top; and you can't drive there because there isn't enough parking. Our strategy: take the commuter rail one stop and then just walk into the downtown area. Halloween evening crowds alone usually top 100,000. Few folks know that back in the early 1800s Salem was the fishing capital of the entire east coast.
SJ......the B17 and the B24 aircraft in the skies are a sight to behold and to hear, especially when they are making full throttle passes low over the airport. I can video them right off my deck! You don't have to take any more evasive maneuvers in the Tardis because the Collings Foundation air show has moved North to New Hampshire. Don't think the P51 could keep up with the Tardis should we get attacked.
HudsonJohn.....I lived right up the road from Edison and you in Avenel (off Route 27) with great views of the top of the dome at the Rahway Maximum Security prison. Remember Rubin Hurricane Carter?
Prayers for those who need them.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Lunch Time at Beautiful Edison, NJ, Beautiful Day,
Rich, Glad that you had a good time and you must have meant 1 beer at a time. I wonder what South Amboy got gigged on and what really teed them off. I know that they are such gentlemen. I will have to make a call and find out. You have to remember, South Amboy is 1.2 square miles and they only have 5 Fire Companies with 180 members, that is what the count was when I lived there. Talk about fire prevention and response time. Some of the other contenders were Long Branch and Wallington back in the 70's and early 80's.
Chief, your garden sounds like a carbon copy of ours. Not much rain either. We have tomatoes and peppers left.
Navyjack, I hope that you and your family are on the mend.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
John
Morning all. Been lazy. Slept late as a retired person should. Then watched more of the sniper DVR's. Now I will shave and shower. Cooked red hots and eggs for breakfast. Temps still 19 degrees above normal for NC. Think I will "bang" around today. May shoot some. Got Town Board tonight.
Banks, my garden has about gone due to dry weather. Few tomatoes and lots of hot peppers. Turnips are up but have to water them due to no rain in a couple of weeks.
Rich, keep the fires out up Nawth. As for posts, I think someone else posts more than me. [really haven't had time]
Did get a discouraging word last night at Mayors' Assoc meeting. Hurricanes have a young guy from OSU playing on the team. Horrible.
Later.
61 going to 87, for 1 day.
It's going to be grass cutting today, I know it's been at least three weeks as everything had turned to straw. Scrambled eggs with ham, green pepper and onion was breakfast today...S.J.
RockIsland52 Brent.....you are actually working on your layout again? Wasn't the plan to have it wrapped up Christmas 2009? Your family expansion is going to derail things.

Yes, but I have one of those annoying tumors that just won't go away. You know the type that devise projects for us so we can't do what we really want to do. Plus I have seriously been considering lowering the middle and upper levels about 1 inch each, maybe 1.5 inches. I know the town hill side won't be a problem as there isn't much track on that side, but the mountain side could be a major project, especially since that is the side that is partially sceniced... The reason for this dilemma is one side of town hill is almost 15 inches of shear rock wall... we'll see. Working on the Domino Sugar plant is giving me time to think it through. Sunroom furniture comes this Saturday. The Q and I spent this past Saturday in Solomons, MD at Artsfest. Found a nice large picture of the old Drum Point Lighthouse that was painted by an artist from New Market, MD (about 8 miles from our house), also found 4 smaller picturs of MD lighthouses that will be framed and mounted around the larger print. The Q found a crab picture with the caption 'Size Matters' this will be framed and mounted above the door from the sunroom to the family room. IF you know The Q you know how fitting this picture is... . Also found a one of a kind serving bowl that has a crab on one edge of the lip, the crab's body makes a smaller bowl that you can put dip inside. Once the pictures are framed, hung, and the furniture is in, we'll see what else we need to complete the room. I think we're looking to buy some table lamps that are either lighthouses, or other beach themed items. I saw some nice stainless lighthouse lantern lamps that would look cool, but I'm not spending $185.00 for something I can't see in person... Also thinking of buying a lighthouse lantern that is mounted on a tripod to use as a floor lamp...I'm thinking this will become the most popular room in the house...
Aloha all. It'll be a late day into work after seeing the boys off and cleaning everything up for the return of the bride. (sounds like a movie title). Hope I can still find a parking spot at the train station. Got class tonight.
Hello all,
ASCH to the POT.
't was a busy weekend.
Went to Antique tractor pull. It's amazing how some of those old John Deer Put Put's will haul.
Mrs and I put up some more tomatoes, went to Church Picnic at local park and Dad's yard is finally ready to plant grass.
Top end kit came for grandson's four wheeler. Hope to get that together tonight. His birthday is Friday and now he's old enough to drag race like his Uncle. He wants to go on Saturday. We shall see.
Leaves are rapidly turning here. Two or three weeks early because it's so dry. they probably won't last long either. I saw on the news the other day we are under a drought watch.
No time for trains, hope to get some this weekend.
Best get back to work
Prayers for all who may need them

It is a clear and sunny 56 degrees. Going up to 80 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have errands to run and chores to do. Then, PT , this afternoon. Legs feel better today, so I will workout for a few hours.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
39 here this morning, feeling like fall. Ran an easy 3 miles then waked 1.5 then went for a 5 mile bike ride after school yesterday. What a nice day to be out and about. Hope to do the same tonite?
Have a great day,
Good Morning form Central Jersey, Cool Morning, but clear.
It is too quiet at work this morning so far. A manager has me scheduled to be at 2 places at once tomorrow. I will pick the better one without the meeting and go there. I would rather look at a piece of equipment.
Everyone have a good day. I must look real busy, 3 guys just looked at me, slowed down as they were going to complain about the truck, and kept going when I gave them a dirty look, after the Chief nudged them away. I must be working here too long.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s! Going to be a hot time on the old soccer pitch toight. Did routine stuff last night. Just time consuming items. I had toast and bacon on the dining car for breakfast as the biscuits all went moldy on us over night. TBIL after the game, and some one else will definitely drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Welcome ASCH - glad to have another on the pot here
Nothing much going on here today, just the usual work and then killed some zombies. Nice chats with RT, SJ and Charlie tonight too. Checking out some train videos online, but have to hit the hay pretty soon.
Tardis is ready, so let's hit it guys! The in-flight movie tonight is Prince of Persia
