Mornin' Fellas.

Probe - send it over. I'll take a look. Thanks for keeping the reason for cutting is short quiet. No big deal... officer just issued a warning and told me to slow down. Would have been 2pts and $90.00 (73 in a 55) nice to have dodged that one! Smile

Banks - I forget what it is called. It is one where I can wear my glasses to watch some TV prior to going to sleep. And yes, it does have the two pillows as you call them. LOL! The guy that did the fitting told me I can get one additional mask, so I think I'm going to call and request the one that just covers the entire nose.

Laz - Welcome back! Sorry to hear about Lucy... man that sucks! Sad

Who is this guy from NC that keeps popping in here every now and again acting like we know who he is????

BTW - sun room furniture arrives next Saturday. I'm taking a poll on the number of days it take The Q to recommend buying a TV for the room? My guess is 45.

LawsonFarms - Haven't been dodging your question, Pat, just hadn't had time to sit down and analyze the Chase.  Momentum and consistency seem to be the rule.  Your beloved JGR has been pretty strong, but with 17 top 10's, 11 top 5's, and +228 points under the old system, the 29 is my pick.  RCR has been the best team this season, and a sentimental pick is Burton (who should win this weekend).  Stewart is my favorite driver in the hunt.

There you have it.

Morning all!

Gonna be a warm weekend. High creeping back up to mid-high 90's. Taking the Boy Scouts out on the lake tomorrow. Gotta get the boat ready tonight. Perfect skiing weather - that time of year when there is little to no wind - smooth water.

Bob - hang in there!

LAZ - will be in York in the spring also but things can change - it's a long way off. So you will not be there next month?

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Hello all,

Been a long week. My issues are better but not resolved. Son has been told it will be at least a month before a decision is made. Thanks for your prayers.

Laz, great to see you back. Sorry about your loss.

Brutus, great news on the MRS.

8N, how's the back coming along.

Probe, an acquaintance of mine that is an EE turned in his notice at Westinghouse in Blairsville. There may be something there.

88, What type of mask are you using I've been using C-pap for over ten years. Can't tolerate the masks with "pillows" up my nostrils. If I skip even one night I feel lousy.

Teenagers, Been There- Done That.  Mine turned out pretty well.

Got .75" of rain yesterday. First rain since Aug 22nd. Son planted 3 acres of Barley on Tuesday. Corn looks like it will turn out fair. Soybean don't look so hot. We shall see.

Not much on the train front. Have a top end rebuild kit ordered for grandson's four wheeler. May go to an antique tractor pull this evening. Never saw one of them

Best get back to work. I'll try to get back over the weekend.

Prayers for all who may need them

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  We won last night!  5-1 was the final score.  Ok, it was against another team that had not won any games either and they were playing two people short and we did have a sub, but it was in the win column.  I played ok.  The HS boys tied a very good team 0-0, and "my" soccer girls did surprisingly well in a 4-0 loss to an excellent team (JV loss 3-0).  The big news is tonight as we are having a special youth game at 6:30.  We have been trying to "pack the house", and have a lot of people there.  It should be interesting.  Laz57, good to hear from you, but sorry to hear about the pooch.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL after the game tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello all

Dealing w/ some fairly heavy stuff right now, at least for me anyway. The good news is I am dealing w/ it fairly well. On the way to solving a big problem at work and hopefully I will be able to survive my mom being in town next week. I think someone walked out of my life this week after opening up to them, but alas, it is probably for the better.

Jim T. - hang in there. Check out university job sites too.

Hope everyone has a good Friday.

Evening all!

Welcome back LAZ! I will see you in York in October! So sorry about your furry friend. Our pup is 10 years old now and getting pretty gray around the muzzle.

Brent, Doug, Fifer, and Demay - Brent  re help with those mountains - what Fifer is really saying is with teenage drama it is really easy to get mountains from molehills. BWaaa-ha-ha-ha-Bwaa-ha-ha!

Talking of teenagers, he who shall not be named just gave me a download of his day - I have had more conversation from him in a couple of days than in the last 6 years - and I am thinking - what's up? - annnndddd - it finally comes out he wants a "kicker" for his birthday. So this means at least a few more months to the next time he talks to me (e.g. Christmas and then another 10 months to Sept/Oct 2011. Now I am wondering what is a "kicker"? To me this sounds like something like nice cowboy boots? - but after some more conversation (very skillfully managed by me so I do not have to look dumb and actually ask what is a "kicker"? - turns out - a kicker is the big booming bass speaker for one's car. This is good I am thinking - we will be able to hear him when he is coming back into the neighborhood when he is still 8 blocks away.

Regarding the other teenager - she wanted tickets to the Cowboys Game - the $29 party SOR pass. Now I usually get duped in these deals - but she came in a little while ago and gave me $30 and promised the additonal $9 (all those Ticketmaster "service charges") tomorrow when she gets paid.

I am getting scared - one teenager who suddenly starts to talk to me and the other actually pays me back for something? I am going out to see if there is some big asteroid bearing down on me. If  I get back to you guys in a day or so you will know I survived.

Brutus - good to hear the continuing good news about Char!

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

I was busy all day today at work.  I still have many things to finish up tomorrow before I hit the road next week.  After work, I played with the kids, helped my daughter with a school project, and then got the fall decorations out of the garage for the wife.  The wife made a fantastic dinner and followed it with some yellow-cake cupcakes topped with orange buttercream icing - so not good for the diet.

Probe - I understand that living abroad is not for everybody.  As already stated, check USAJobs regularly.  I'm sure you will see something closer to home.

Laz - Welcome back and sorry to hear about your friend.

Dennis - I have the Hobby Lobby coupon cut out as well.  I have not had a chance to get to the store yet though.

S.J. - I'll pass on the banilla tonight due to the cupcakes.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening everyone.  It is nice to see Laz stopping in.  Sorry to hear about your best friend Laz.  A number of us have experienced such a loss over the last few years.  Never easy.

Chief, that is quite a haul of fish you made.  Sounds like you had a lot of fun.  When I take our son fishing, if some action is not happening every 5-10 minutes, he thinks it is boring and wants to head in.  Oh well.  We are working on the patience thing.

Hobby Lobby has the 40% sale this week, so I will bring a coupon and see what they have.  Lately, I have not found much that I need, but then again, how much do we really need anyway?  I will also see about space related items to peak the kids interest before the NASA trip.

It is late and I had better get to sleep.  Will say some prayers for Bob, Char, Laz, Lee, Jim, Brent&susieQ, Mike/Lucas, RT, Chief, and several other unspoken ones.  Lots of folks who need to be lifted up for various reasons.  At least we know where to lift them.

God Bless,
Dennis

Afternoon All.

Ray, Try unplugging your printer for a few minutes. I have encountered the same problem with mine a few times and was told by the maker that if the ink/toner is the same batch/lot in the new cartridge as the old it can give an erroneus reading/message.

Spent part of yesterday sitting in the dentist chair, didn't really pay much attention as to how long until I heard him order another 50# bag of mortar from Home Depot. Smile, Wink & Grin At least this week I was a bit smarter and had soup for dinner instead of chewing on my tongue along with dinner like last week. Dunce

No museum tomorrow, plan on playing with the munchkin and maybe going to the Wild Animal Park. Sunday grampa's buddy turns 5 years old, picked up a "periscope" a few weeks back that he has wanted for a while.

Back later !

Brutus and Joe,

I was looking at Electrical Engineering jobs on USA Jobs, but the fact that the postings mentioned possible overseas deployment turned me away somewhat.  Although I support and respect the military 110%, it just isn't a direction I see myself heading towards.

Jim Also check out local hospitals webs sites for job openings as sometimes they don't list all in papers or job sources.

on the possible of having to travel overseas thats your choice but while your still single I would jump if it is only possible. Also make sure it didn't say joining the reserves or national guard a requirement as thats not what you want from what I gather and thats fine as its not for all. but working with them as a civilian can be great. but you need to see where overseas you may go also.

try narrowing your search on usajobs to veterans affairs links you can search by different agencies.

Fed jobs are good way to go.

heres one I found not sure if it fits you but http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=90177518&JobTitle=Industrial+Engineer&q=Electrical+Engineering+&sort=rv%2c-dtex&cn=&rad_units=miles&brd=3876&pp=50&jbf574=VA00&vw=b&re=134&FedEmp=N&FedPub=Y&caller=advanced.aspx&AVSDM=2010-08-19+12%3a51%3a00

Good afternnon all,  Am I doing something wrong?  Seems like I have to select a font size every time I want to post now.  Just got interrupted by someone at the door.  Turns out to be a carpet cleaner lady.  Told her we just had them done last week.  She still wanted to do more work.  Had to close door in her face literally to get rid of her.  Don't understand people sometimes.  What is it about no, that you don't understand?

Computer printer is on the blink again.  Just put in new ink cartriges recently and last copy I got had plenty of ink so don't know why printer is showing low ink.  I think we need a new printer.

Applied more Bullfrog Snot to my MTH E6 engine yesterday to avoid tearing whole engine apart to change tire on front truck.  Working good so far.

Busy week for us.  We were host for our church social group meeting on Tuesday.  We had it in the local park and provided drinks and deserts.  Everything went well.

No Thursday night get together for trains tonight.  One friend is out of town, another is celebrating his birthday.

It has been over a month now since I put my MTH F3 in the shop for repairs.  Sure is a slow process.  Maybe I will get it back by Christmas.

Neighbor is still working on new fence to keep 5 collie dogs inside the yard.  Meanwhile they are in a smaller kennel in the yard but they need to get out.  They let them out a little bit but not enough excercise for big dogs like that.  We have a lot of wild parrots flying around here and they really make a racket.  Makes the dogs bark too.

Hope all of you guys are doing well today.  Keep on training,

Ray

BOOO!

Hi GUYZ,

I figured I'd stop by and say howdy.  Been real busy here on my addition.  To date have just about all the interior work done.  Made and hung the v groove ceiling, made and finished the two in wall bookcases and mantle area, put the manufactured cobblestone in be hind fireplace stove, did all the traditional wainscotting and place on walls, put extension jambs on all doors and windows along with the moldings, built two window seats for the wife and installed them, did all the slate tile, hung and install door for half bath, did the vanity and toilet hook up, made all new kitchen cabinets and doors for kitchen, made a tower for new microwave and oven.  Now just have to wait for contractor to install the island.  I should have built it but with a downdraft cooktop, I didn't know what the spects were for this.  All in all we love it.  I have a new 55 inch LG TV and a new couch and recliner in too.  Life is good.  I will put the manufactured stone on exterior next summer.

As for the train front.  I had to take down existing layout in order to get my floor level.  It took 10 hrs just to dismantle it.  I had a tear in my eye but maybe about Dec or Jan. will start on a new one?  I am not going to YORK in October just because I don't have a layout and feel whats the sense in going when I still don't know how I want the next one to go.

Running the 0-4-0 at the Pioneer tunnel this summer was a great treat.  Had lots o fun with the guyz and also with the paying coustomers.  I will be doing it again next year.

As for school I got this year and next then maybe will be running engine a few days a week who knows?

On a sad note I lost my best friend for the last 12.5 yrs., her name was JANE, my furry friend and faithful companion, she died last Wednesday here at home.  I burried her in the backyard and really miss her.  But next summer we will have a new puppy running around here again.  I wanted to get another one last weekend but we need some time to heal the hurt and it is tough to train a pup when both of us work.  Next summer both will be home to give the puppy all the attention it needs.

Hope all are ok and prayers for those that need them.

The BOO in the begining was suggested by RT to scare YUZ GUYZ.

OH yeah,

CHUCK and BUCKEYE,  and early

TGIF!!!!!!

Stay frosty GUYZ!!!!!!!!

Aloha from a grey Crystal Lake. Just back from taking the new executive pastor to lunch - poor guy, he just moved, is in a new job and has brand-new twins boys. Wow, that's a lot of change!  Dennis and Joe, I agree with ya Yes

Sir J, sorry to have missed the festivities Tues night. Can't get 'conferencing' to work on Messenger - of course because the iPhone version doesn't offer it.

I missed the birthday of Railroading: "On this day in 1830, the Manchester "and Liverpool Railway opened -- the first all steam railway in the world." Thanks for the heads-up, Brutus!

Good morning everyone.  Getting the kids ready for school.  I am still on call and have a few hours before I have to be to work.  May watch a movie with my bride.

Jim, have you thought about working at a electrical supply company?  Even though it is not your ultimate goal, it will help you network and lead to something more to your liking.

Jim, we all need Him, but the narrow road proves that we all don't know it.  While I need the Sunday services to re-charge my batteries, Bible study helps me get that much deeper in the Word.

Better get going.  Hope each of you has a blessed day.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana, but should be dry for tonight's game.  Sir James, all in good fun.  I do love the game(perhaps too much at times), but it makes times at the Y doing free weights tolerable.  Quiet but busy day at work.  Not too many case reports and so I am catching up on other tasks.  The conversations we have there....   I had the regular fare for breakfast on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL after the game.  I left the keys under the driver's seat.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Jim GP - check USAJOBS like on a weekly basis, as jobs open and close - Good luck to you!  Also to Rich and others looking for jobs.  I'll watch for you on LIVE - I've got my own separate xbox now, so I've been on about every night for an hour or so Thumbs Up

Joe, I'll come get you after picking up Pat and Mike.  RT already went to bed, so we'll have to go back in time a little bit to get him.  SJ and Charlie and Don have their beacons on already.  Chief's is flickering, guess it's that homemade e-lect-ric out at the "lake house" Laugh

SJ - We are on the way, better open that door!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
