Pat, hope it was a great one for you. Around these parts, the cows getting out is a constant issue. Several years ago, an elderly couple was killed when they hit a cow and it went through the windshield of their car.
Fife, no problem on the Baltimore thing. I used to date a nurse up that way and know there are plenty of bad areas. I did like the inner harbor when they had the tall ships in port.
Don, when taking high dose antibiotics, it is a good idea to eat yogurt. Helps replace the good bacteria to help with "digestive issues". Even when the regiment is done, take a few days afterwards to return things to normal.
Well, it has been a busy week for me between church and work. Finished my case this morning, had a nice lunch with my bride at a nice outdoor cafe part of the hospital, and then headed to the dentist. Took care of my first cavity since my teenage years....many years ago. All is good and now that my face is no longer numb, I ate some shrimp and pasta for dinner....yum!
Happy Friday Eve! as Laz is so fond of saying. I have some last moment chores to take care of and then it is off to bed.
God Bless,dennis

Good evening all,
Pat!
Pretty comfortable day weather wise today. I kept buys at work and the day flew by. I am pretty much over my little cold; just a little bit of coughing to work out.
Tomorrow, my wife and I celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. I will remind her once again how blessed she is to have me . After work, we will drive down to OKC for dinner. Her cousin will watch all three of our kids for us while we eat in peace.
S.J. - I believe I have enough time to swing by for some banilla tonight.
Regards,
Joe

Afternoon All.
Pat, as usual I'm a day late and a dollar short.
Boy oh boy, do we have some weather moving thru here today. The heat finally broke but we are having lightning like I have never seen here before, unfortunately according to the radar weather maps the vast majority is occurring where the rain ain't falling.
DJ, Your "car sick" story made me smile, not a vindictive chuckle but a memory chuckle from years ago. When my daughter was about nine we were heading for the Big Bear Ski area but we only had chains for my Datsun King Cab so that meant she had to ride in the jump seats. Needless to say after an Entemanns donut stop and a few hairpins up the mountain road she gets carsick where there are no shoulders or turnouts. Oh Thank Heaven For That Empty Entemanns Box.
Blue Angels here this weekend, hope the weather improves otherwise it will put the kabosh on that.
Museum tomorrow, monday it will be closed so we will be doing some scenery/accessory change out for halloween.

Pat I hope you had a great birthday.
Well almost 2 hours at the Doc's office, wasn't to bad i flirted with all the ladies. Hes going to treat me with medications, will see what 30 days can do. 60s today so I'm on my way to cut the grass. Have a great afternoon...S.J.
Lunch Time,
The morning was not bad, no major problems. We are waiting for the second round from TS Nicole.
Pat, Happy Birthday and many more. Thanks for sharing the info on the Doctor's Bike.
Laz, Sounds like a great trip. I did it a few times and we always had a good time.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
John
HI GUYZ,
Well got back from anual salmon fish trip and had a great time as always. BRO landed and released two big males that were 27lbs. and 22 lbs. I had about a dozen on that alot were over 30 lbs. and couldn't hold em on. We are using 12lb. test line and 10 foot noodle rods and that should do the trick but for some reason line was breaking. It wasn't the drags they were working fine, maybe old line had something to do with it? I will post picks this weekend.
PAT wish you many more.
SHAKE and BAKE wish you a speedy recovery.
DOUG M., BEARS WIN!!! It was ugly but a wins a win.
Stay frosty,

Thanks for the birthday wishes. They are all appreciated. The date wasn't advertised because at my age it is a "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" deal.
I mentioned Tues. AM was spent enjoying the steam trains DVD's. Well, the PM was spent herding the cows out of the neighbors woods. I guess the day averaged out. Banks, ever have your cows leave home?
Beautiful rain last two days! Should revive the pastures. two more months of grazing!
Bob - why not replace your EE with Jim!
Dennis - The train DVD showed a cycle used by Doctors on the RR tracks in the 1920s. The doctor road the train up the mountain, did is doctoring, and peddled the cycle back down the mountain on the rails. Ever heard of this? Wander why he didn't peddle up the mountain?

Aloha all. to Mr. Lawson! Looks like another pretty Fall day here in Crystal Lake - my brothers, mom and sister and their families are coming into Chicago from all across the country for a sort of reunion - we've never all gotten together so the weekend should be stressful (there are prima donnas involved) but fun!Running out of days to walk the youngest to school. He wants the excuse to ride his new bike. If he was just a 1/4 inch taller, it would be easier for him but I support his perseverance. LOL. Jack, your chore experience sounds very familiar - I start something, get interrupted for to do something else, start that, then get interrupted for something else, and so on and so on. But it seems to get done. Kind of. Prayers for Mrs. Brutus. to Charlie for helping Sir J with his computing machine.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a dark and cloudy 55 degrees. Going up to 72 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. Paperwork and chores. PT went well, yesterday. Did some quality walking. I can feel it today.
Pat...... Happy Birthday..
Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good Morning from WET Edison, NJ, another fun day at work. RAIN, WIND, TROPICAL STORM NICOLE.
What a great day for working for the electric & gas company. Roads are alrady flooding and the winds are cranking. Looks like it is going to be a long day.
Chief, looks like I will be contributing to your SS today.
Rich, I guess that you saw in the news our call for the car fire yesterday morning at 6:00 am. It was one of our sister company's call. Not often that you find a person handcuff to the steering wheel to a burning car. It was tied to a murder in NY. I was already at work and my son was getting ready for school.
Pat, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY.
Navy Jack, Good to see you are back and posting.
Mike C, Win one for the kids.
Everyone, Be safe and have a Great Day.
Time to do the Morning Safety Huddle, "Safety Is your Responsibility" is the Topic.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Happy belated birthday, Pat! RockIsland52, concerning the "chore" situation, been there, done that. "My" soccer girls tied 2-2 Tuesday night in their last road game. They play three games at home in five days starting tonight. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL after the game tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Tropical storm Nicole.....about 4 inches of rain and winds topping 50mph expected before the weekend, starting sometime tomorrow. So I thought it might be a good idea to capitulate to the wife's concern, get the lawn cut, the leaves picked up, and the grate in the street cleared. But I never made it to the back yard where most of the lawn is.
Did you ever notice that when you don't get the yard work done the wife starts making racket about it?. And then when you set out, determined to rectify the situation, she pulls you away and has you do other things, and the task at hand doesn't get completed?
And then the racket starts back up?
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good Evening,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAT !!
Just a quick note, recovery coming along, each day is better. But, could definitely do without the antibiotics! I feel great until a half hour or so after taking them. But must continue with it for 5 more days, don't want a relapse!
A local restaurant that has been here for 24 years, (PoFolks, based in Florida), closed the last store in in Calif. They had G-Scale running around the ceiling in 2 dinning rooms. Probably 3,000 feet of track, I was hoping to buy some, but it was all sold in one lot, darn! Hate to see the restaurant close, they really had great food!
Hope everyone is doing well !
Later
Don
It's been a couple of days since I last posted and things are really moving on here. Sorry if I missed any major events. I've been busy at work so far this week; catching up on all the issues I missed while I was in San Antonio last week. I am also a bit under the weather. I believe the change in temps threw me off.
The family and I returned from chuch not too long ago. We got the kids to bed and now it's time for us to unwind together. I should be back up to speed on the forum tomorrow.
Good night,
A Huge Thank You to Charlie for giving up time at home to put me back on line. The scan found 4 nasties and it appears ok now. So banilla and root beer for all, im buyin. Jaw doctor in the the morning, this may not be good,we shall see. The Lionel 494 is beaconing so come on by and pick me up...S.J.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Today started off yesterday when I was chewing on a cookie and felt what I thought was a sugar lump in it. Turns out it was chip off a tooth. I call the dentist and he can check it today. OK, I take a sick day for a half hour grind down on my tooth and have the rest of the day to myself as wife is subbing. No such luck. Turns out I need a crown as some other parts are cracking as well. Back to the dentist this afternoon for the temporary. Good thing I did take the whole day as I would have had to do it another time. Did do some housework for the wife and ran my new Scout set, which is a very nice set by the way, and got some electronic issues resolved.
Last night I played another great game. Teammates were giving me fist bumps during the game. We lost 1-0, but this was to a team who beat us the first time 8-0, and we did have several chances to score in the first half. Oldest daughter brought all three of her kids to watch me play and I think I did ok for them. Afterwards we all went to Steak n Shake.
I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
navyjack happy birthday pat....... many more good friend navyjack

Thanks Jack. This Violin is old enough to sound pretty darn good.
The family had a great time on John Brown.Very well maintained by the volunteers.Well worth it if you can get aboard.Signed my little guy up for tiger cubs Monday. The two princes have been getting along real well lately and I have to wonder whats up.They are 7 years apart. Chief the leaves are just starting to change and I think there are still apples to be had. Local apples are 99 cents a pound in the markets.Prayers for those who neeed them.
dwiemer - Thanks for the heads-up on the "mission", but no thanks. My life experiences say you don't place your loved ones in an environment where they may become prey. I urge my kids to 1)Get away from Baltimore 2)Get out of Maryland. And I intend to lead by example.
Morning folks,
Been extremely busy the last few days and no time to post or catch up.
Hope all are well.
Looking forward to taking a break at York meet in couple of weeks.
Weather here has been delightful. 80's/50's since last Sunday.
Had a great time at the State Fair of Texas last Sunday. 78 degrees, sunny, and lot's o' corn dogs, popcorn, tamalies, funnel cake, nutty bars, etc. It was a calorie overload extraveganza!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Regards, Roy
I heard from SJ via phone last night. His PC has been infected with a virus. I'm going to stop tonight on my way home from work and try to take care of it for him. He may not be able to logon until this is resolved.

Aloha all from a sunny Crystal Lake where I'm unexpectedly working from home. Front tire had a big bump on the sidewall. Doesn't look right enough to take on the expressway. Glad you and the door are OK, Spank. Nice cars, Bob. Love the photo My buddy has a manual Aveo. He likes it. Prayers for today's doc mtg, Brutus.
It is a foggy 56 degrees. Going up to 78 today with some sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and , then, I have PT this afternoon. Legs need a good workout. Too stiff and achy.
Dining car is here for the usual Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
