Hi Guyz!!!!!!!!!!!!  PC got a sexually transmitted disease or something last weekend and nothing would work, on-line or off.  Took it into my PC guru..  Got it "cleansed."   Now I find myself almost a week behind on posts.  Who can give me a summary of the past week with what I missed?

Jack

Can tell you it came from an old codger from Mich. with initials of SJ.

Came home from meeting and town hall work. not feeling good.  Pam stayed home sick.  Took sinus pill and been sleeping since.

Tomorrow.

LAZ......I was sorry to read about the loss of your dog, Jane.  And I know you are hurting at her loss.  Some folks may observe that it was just a dog, but to me our pups are more like family, in all of the good ways.

We could learn a lot about life and living from our dogs.  They are always happy.  They never complain.  They don't worry and obsess about the small stuff.  They bring my spirits up when I am fearful or feeling low.  They always greet me enthusiastically at the door every time I come home.  They don't carry resentments or grudges.  They serve as part of my home entertainment system.  And they are as loyal and forgiving as any friend or family member I have.

I remember your posts about the runs you took with Jane.  The memory of her will always be with you.  RIP Jane.

Aloha all. Grey and rainy here but soccer goes on - picture day and then the game. They play at a gigantic field complex that generates its own weather. which is always bad - LOL. Wink   That jet-powered Budd sounds awesome.

Jack, I agree completely. However, after going through it 7 times in my life time, I am  hesitant about getting another dog. The ups are great, but the downs (death) are terrible.

Chuck, remember there is a NASCAR Truck race today and a Cup race tomorrow.Automobile

Laz, sorry to hear about the loss of your dog Jane.  We lost our pet cat some time ago after having her for 20 years.  I have not got a new pet since.  Don't want to go through that again.  I have 5 collie dogs next door to play with if I want to.  They are funny.  When I come out of my house they run to the fence and all stand together staring at me like they are saying, "there's that guy again, wonder who he is".  The neighbor is building a new run for them aka the whole yard.  Hope they don't kill all his grass.  I bought a house once where previous owner had raised dalmation dogs.  The yard looked like a chicken coop after dogs had killed every blade of grass.  Took me quite a while to get new lawn going after that.

Chief, that fishing trip you had sounds like fun.  Big Bass are fun to catch.  I broke an ultra light trout rod on one a while back while fishing with a trout lure.  Guess the bass didn't know the difference.

We are planning on going to a roaring twenties music event this afternoon at a heritage park and early California Museum near here.  Friend of ours is drummer in one of the bands and the other band I like as well with flapper music and dancers dressed in period clothes.  Everybody brings their own chairs and picnic lunch.

Jack, I don't think you missed too much in the last few days.  Don't remember any earth shaking post including mine.

Tried doing a little yard work this AM but back would not cooperate.  Have to get the gardener to finish what I started.

Have a good week end all,

Ray

Good afternoon everyone.  Quick stop over as heading out to Hobby Lobby with family to see what train related items I can pick up.

Made a white chocolate and caramel cheesecake, but will have to wait for 4 hours before eating.
Daughter asked wife why I had all those white hairs on my head.  Wife's answer was because I have two children.  Gotta love it.

Bob, if folks walk away when you open up, probably means they would not be there when times really get tough.  You will be better off.  Have those who will stick with you through the rough spots.  We keep you in our prayers and look forward to your continued success.  As to Mom, I would love to have the chance to go back and make every moment with her count.  She was taken way too soon and we miss her.  Hope you can have a great time with her and let her know that you love her.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a great weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

My goodness, soccer morning turned into a 4 hour saga, complete with lightning, mud, damp photographers and finally a game. Now to 'recover...'

Hey Laz is back!  Sorry to hear about Jane - prayers man!

Well, last night we went out with some friends for dinner and cake as it was my friend's birthday.  Hot wings and a couple Blue Moons, had a great time.  Worked 6 OT today, then over to my friend's house again for some movies and a chili dinner.  Talkin' with SJ and Charlie now, but did manage to say hi to RT before he hit the hay.

Tardis will be ready shortly.  No beer for me, but we'll have rootbeer and banilla Thumbs Up

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Last night we had a youth game under the lights.  While the crowd was disappointing, the local paper was there to cover it and there was a picture AND story on the front page of the local sports section today.  Talked it over with some of the "powers that be" and may plan on it next year with more publicity and and advance notice.  Maybe have a real singer for the national anthem and a helicopter flyover with the local radio control group.   Local team won the game 1-0 in a barn burner, but the game was cleanly played.  Had another good game today as well.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast.  Got a new TV for the back room as well today.  IRL race is tonight but will watch on tape delay tomorrow.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Tired.  Full of chicken and pork bar-be-que [I had to judge].  Also plenty of song music.  Did not drink any beer but they sold 7 kegs.  Came home tired.  Sat and watched the sniper things on History Channel.

LAZ, sorry about Jane.  Tough.

Finn has now well passed Burg in height and length nut not weight [at five months].  BIG boy.

Well this week worked out ok after all. It's amazing what happens when you stop worrying and let someone else drive. Back at the 'scope for a few more days. Absolutely beautiful drive up this evening. Got to see a UP intermodel working east out of Willcox fairly close up. Brought 110 gallons of hydraulic fluid up w/o incident. Next week will be 110 more.

Dennis - wise words as always. I think my mom and I will have a good time next week. She just tends to worry a bit, but I think that is something mothers do.

Jack S. - I think I accidently deleted your email. I'll try and send one back at you soon.

Here's a pic from my last trip to Phoenix:

Hope everyone has a good weekend and thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Things are improving!

HI GUYZ,

Thank you all very much for all the condolences on the loss of my dog.  As JACK and others have said I always have those memories.  Next summer we will get a new pup and it will start again.

Yesterday had to rip apart old sink and kitchen cabinets, clean out shed, get rid of stuff.  Make room for newer stuff.  Today more of the same.

Hope all are well, after we get island in tomorrow I will post pics of addition from demolishion to new construction.  Stay tuned.

Stay frosty,

Good morning all,  The music event we attended yesterday (Roaring Twenties Music) was a delight.  On the more serious side, even picked up a CD with a reproduction of the very ochestra that played on the ill fated Titanic in 1912.  Nobody ever accused me of listening to main stream music all the time.

Also heard the Nightblooming Jazzmen, a dixieland group that my friend plays drums in.  There were lots of old model T's and model A Fords in beautiful condition on display and people playing old hand cranked victrollas with music from the 20's  around those old cars.

Although we brought a picnic lunch, there was plenty of fare to be purchased if one desired.  There was Tri Tip beef sandwiches, hot dogs, kettle corn, cookes and soft drinks and hamburgers.  No one went hungry.  The twenties type ochestra was headed up by a local guy here, Ian Whitcomb who is well known in this neck of the woods.  Had his own radio show and many recordings.  He is from England.  Funny thing is, he used to be a rock and roll singer when he was younger.  Weather was perfect temperature wise.  Plenty of dancers on hand for the event in period dress.  Fun to watch.  They even gave dancing lessons for the Charleston, etc.

Have a good Sunday everyone,

Ray

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore:

Today was a beautiful day. Went to the Days of the Past meet at Washington Crossing State Park today. It ran for the past 3 days and it was a huge success. The Antique Truck Club to which I belong was one of the clubs that ran it. We all had a great time.

ASCH, welcome aboard and I hope that you enjoy yourself.

Laz, Welcome back and I am sorry to hear about Jane.

I hope Rich, ANJDEVIL, makes it back from the Fireman's Convention with some great stories.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  For those of you using the "home" version and all who recently joined, that acronym stands for "It is another beautiful sunny day in south east Indiana".  Welcome, Asch, to the pot!  You will find it to be a friendly place with lots of interesting characters.  Just remember that soccer is the best sport, the Indy 500 is the best race, and Corvairs rule, and everything else will make sense.  I had cinnamon rolls on the dining car for breakfast as it rolled in from "Points East".  Did housework and picked up sticks in the yard.  Watched a tape delay broadcast of the IRL race.  Team Red won again with Helio.  Princess was 5th and Vitor was 17th.  Not a good day.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Couple of high 70's low 80's days here.  Seems warmer 'cause of the high humidity.  Impressive lightening show went over last night, but not much rain.

My wife's back is improving.  We are walking between one and two miles a day.  She is also able to do some light work around the house - a little painting, some filing, etc.  She is still board, feeling well enough to want to do more than she should.  She can start not wearing her back brace a few hours a day soon.  She is looking forward to that.  Still six weeks away from driving again.

Doing the oddball pieces of hex tiles around the edge of the room this weekend. The usual laundry and yardwork too.  I pranged my knee about a month ago, so that has slowed me down considerably - didn't get the hex tile grouted like I wanted to.

The anti-inflamitory meds my doctor perscribed did not help much.  Guess I'll have to go get a MRI to see what I've done to it.  Whatever it is, it is going to have to wait a couple of months to get fixed.   Got to wait for my wife to get back on the active roster before I go on the disabled list.

I did get to the LHS Saturday and put a CSX boxcar and a FT B unit from the 2010 vol. 2 on order.  The owner also loaned me a stack of Katy, MoPac, and Frisco historcial society news letters.  Interesting reading.

All for now.
