Off to bed.  Early for me.  Reclinerized as was tired.  Got call earlier.  I am requested to attend an 8:00 AM meeting [yes, they have breakfast but that is not why].  Had planned on painting the front posts and railing to front stoop.  Got 11:00 AM here [someone else planned for me].  Sleep tight.

Evening all!

News here is showing the Texas Stadium implosion over and over and over and over..... There are people in the news crying over this. In the last 10 years the place was a grungy, dingy, smelly, unclean, unkept, broken restrooms, etc., place where one was afraid to buy the food. Your shoes stuck to the concrete at the concession stands if you stood in one spot too long. They never cleaned it. No loss there.

Tired so signing out early. Prayers for those that need them,

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Regards, Roy

Well our 4 observers that were here over the weekend just left, although not before inadvertently shutting down one of the computers. One of the four very critical computers. Just had a little fun getting back on line.

Don and SP - looks like you have some weather out your way, supposed to  be windy here tomorrow, but no rain.

John and Dennis - thoughts and prayers for your friends.

Brutus - glad to hear the wife is doing good!

Won an Amtrak work train tonight on the bay. Been looking at those for a while now. It has my kind of diesel, an Alco RS-3. This was just the train and not the whole set. There are still some brand new sets out there but they are getting up there for my price range, and I really didn't need another transformer and all. I've never seen just the train for sale so I went for it. Jim S. - all those pictures of crane cars must have got me going, plus the article on wheel cars in CTT.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Early good morning.  Too early for me.  Got a Human Services Board Exec. Comm. meeting and I'm not on the Exec. Comm.  Got a call from the Chair to attend and help them with getting the County Commissioners to reverse the proposed budget cuts.  Too late.  They'll learn [from me].  Oh well.

I guess Buckeye stopped posting when DUKE won. Whistling

Prayers for those requesting them.

Have a great week to all those who work and pay my SS.  [same for all of us retired guys]

Later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear and sunny 55 degrees. Going up to a sunny 74 today.

Today is a busy day. I have PT this morning at 11am. Starting a new week of 3 sessions. This should be interesting. Maybe, I'll get some train time this afternoon.

Dining car is here with the usual breakfast of Cheerios.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Morning all.  Getting ready to head in and also to drop son off at school this morning as Spring Break is over.  If I am done in a timely manner this morning, have a lunch meeting with director and 1st AD.  Then, we have a meeting tonight with the rest of the production staff.  I am sure this will consume a large portion of my time for the next few months.  Sure will need a bit of train running as a mental break.

Chief, hate that you have to go to a meeting just to tell them they can't have their way.  Hope all goes well and that you are able to get out unscathed.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 70.  Thought I would take it easy last night, but decided to get a hose reel to make life easier.  Three worse words ever written, "Some assembly required".  After getting it together, wife said it would not do what she thought it would.  I had tried to tell her that in the store.  One of these days she will figure out that sometimes I know what I am talking about.  Yesterday was not that day.  I had cereal and streusel on the dining car this morning for breakfast as it rolled in from "Points East".  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

PS  Ryan Newman, a Hoosier, driving for another Hoosier (Tony Stewart), won the NASCAR race Saturday night after edging a transplanted Hoosier (one who had the sense to move to Indiana), Jeff Gordon.  (Guess it was not that important since no one from NC won, right, Chief :-) )

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 55 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Got one court case this AM, then headin' down to the boatyard for launch at 1300.  She looks good, and her batteries are fully charged thanks to the ProSport 12 Chief recommended.

...speaking of His Honor...had an interesting voice mail over the weekend.  Thought it was gonna be a birthday greeting, but it turned out to be an APB.  Thanks for the "shout" out. Smile The Coffee Pot will quit me, before I quit it.  Just got a little preoccupied this past week. Pirate

Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio

Wow what a beautiful weekend.  Busy but rewarding.  Won a 0-25 vac meter face on ebay, and a 762 two in one whistle.  After a little work it works good.  It will be stripped down and repainted.

Chief – Neat cart.

Fife – So how many chin up can you do off the side of your boat?

Jim F- Sounds like Char is doing better.

Prayers for all of you and for those requested.

May God bless

Jim

Aloha everyone. Sunny and cold here - feels cold to me at 46. Got a kind offer of a ticket to today's Cubs opener. Had to decline because of work - didn't want to tell them I was afraid my hand would fall off if I touched a Cubs ticket Wink  Not that the Sox are doing well.

8n, I'm the nut with an electric mower - I've had them for years before it was 'green' - but I'm cheap er um thrifty enough to get the corded ones then trail a 100 ft extension cord around the yard like a matador at a bull fight. I amuse the neighbors. The grass isn't growing yet.

Dennis, prayers for your friend's wife. I travel through Findley to pick up the daughter at school.

Go Wes go, I'm excited for your layout building.

Boy, what is it about little kids and trains? A few neighborhood kids visited the layout yesterday. I think age 4-5 is just perfect. They stood on their stools, mashing the horn buttons and laughing out loud at the sound and lights. Maybe it's Thomas too. Anyway, it gave me a smile.

Bob, don't you just shake your head when important visitors turn something important off - like that computer. I just had one rip a polycom conferencing device out of a wall trying to move it. Gulp.

Well, I have 24 hours to get the bride something for her birthday. I'm going to surprise her and take the day off - take her to her favorite outdoor arboretum about a hour away. Rearranged class and meetings. She was a bit down because it seemed no one was remembering. Then Wed is my son's 16th. He wants his license that day. May try to go home early for that drive up to DMV if work allows. Then our anniversary is next week. Sheesh. This is my most expensive week of the year. Wink

thanks pat for bring it up.  the "email enabled" is not working for me either. have a friend who was a scout sniper in the marines, who was discharged after ten years cause his knees were no good.  he became a libertarian and has not paid taxes for 12 years.  he has been in and out of court.  so far they have not been able to convict him of a crime as he claims that paying taxes is not in  the constituition.  i do not have the nerve to try that.  jail is not my home of choice.  thanks chief for telling me that i was on the wrong coffee pot. navyjack

Navy, I knew a guy on the railroad that tried this very same thing and used to go around preaching that stuff to the rest of us.  To make a long story short, he did some time in the Long Beach Federal Prison.

AK round shortened my career .  The shays run beautifully ... just need a layout to give them justice ... Trainz went all over them ... peaked and tuned/tested and certified/guaranteed them .... not even any factory bugs or adjustments were needed ... Thumbs Up

Doug/CNW ... man I'm hopeing to get it going very soon .... wife and remodeling slowing me up ... just because I wanted to repaint the train room gave her the idea to do the whole house ... so guess it's my fault really ... Whistling

Chief ... man I miss Richard Petty the old boy ... an immortal on the track ... got lucky and got to meet him once ... was a friend of one of my old buddies ... Bud Faubel ... if any of you remember him ... had the first funny car on the drag circuit ... The Honker ... Bud was world champion for a couple years in the funny car class for Chrysler along with the Ram Chargers team  .... came to Bud's house one night I was there . That was back when race cars were near street versions ... not tube frames and fiberglas bodies not even close to real cars as they are today on any type race circuits . If none of you know what a funny car was ... altered wheelbase ... right behind the driver's seat .. actual showroom car bodies . Bud lived right up the road at chambersburg , pa.

I used to race a 1960 - 300F back then ... that's how we met ... this is a pic of the engine in my machine ... needless to say Chrysler was way ahead of the others on technology

Jim,

I almost gave you some competition on that 762.Smile,Wink, & Grin  Instead I decided  to get a beat up 577 last night.  It is boxed, but the top of the sign panel is rusty and bent.  I can't complain though because I was the only bidder and got it for $7.95 before shipping.  When you restore your 762, let me know because I think I am going to need some pointers on this one.

Fife,

         Welcome back.

Howdy all!  Back from NJ - this is just a quick check in while I wait for something to load.  No way I can read and digest 20+ pages of posts right off.  But that will give me something to do while I'm hopped up on Vicodin and Percocet from Tuesday afternoon onward.

Got a lot done on the house to prep it for sale, but it's still not ready.  Part of that is Linda decided to engage in "scope creep" - "Let's do this.  Let's do that." - so that although I hit the original goals now there's more to do.  If this continues we'll never get this house on the market.

Gotta go - you'll see lotsa ramblings from me over the next few days - WEEEEEE, Vocodin!

Have fun tomorrow. If you need advise on handling the nurses, woops better say interacting with, hmmm, anyway, any questions in that department ask Chuck! WhistlingBig Smile

Getting ready for the evening production meeting.  Will most likely last till 21:30 or later.  Wife and kids headed off to the local fair.  Hope they have fun.

Spanky, hope you don't need the pain meds, but glad you have them on hand should you.  I also have a "director" who, when I get to working on one project, it suddenly expands into several others.

Check back later.

Bad news: old fuel filter leaked diesel into my bilge. Disapprove

Shiver Me Timbers Fife---you don't need no stinkin' fuel .... what kind of a sailor are you Pirate  I don't recall any self respecting man of the sea needing "fuel".  Maybe rum -- but not diesel Laugh

I wish you were here with me in San Diego right now -- I spent a couple of hours in the harbor this noon drooling over sailboats,  way out of my league -- more suitable for Mayors Clown  The boss is here for client meetings and I am just tagging along on my own dime, Wednesday we get to fly about 4K miles west and see the "big boy" sailboats and Pearl Harbor.  Neither of us has ever been there and Thank You God for providing her with these two clients, can't wait.

I may see Doug D. tomorrow at the museum, just not sure right now.  Ironically, the weather in Iowa is warmer than in SD, that's just wrong Banged Head  Oh well, the scenery and ambiance here is unbelievable, I would really enjoy living here about half the year if we could afford it -- it's just drop dead gorgeous Thumbs Up   I've been able to talk with several locals since we arrived and the taxes are just eating them alive , tough situation to be sure.  No easy fix.

Almost time for the free "social hour" in the hotel lobby, this is our first time at a Marriot Residence Inn, pretty cool.  While the boss get's to go out to dinner with clients I will make my meal out of appetizers and wine -- hey I'm not that proud  Cool  Hope there's not 10,000 kids there screaming and running around without parental supervision .......... need to get going, my senility is starting to kick in Mischief

Well we closed up for wind earlier but we are open for business now. Supposed to calm down overnight, but we still have the front moving through.

Doug M. - visitors and technology can be fun. We also have an emergency stop button right about waist level on the stairwell coming up into the control room. I'm sure you can imagine how much fun that is during tours.

Ol Timer - that's a heck of an interesting dual carb set up you had there. How does that work exactly? And you had air conditioning on a race car? Now that's living...

Need to find something to eat.

BOB ..... that was all stock from the factory on those " ramchargers " 300 letter cars back then . Had to keep all the factory items plus air to stay in the stock class .... otherwise I would have had to run in altered which was a whole new ballgame . They were RAM TUBE MANIFOLDS designed by Chrysler ... dual 4 barrel Carter AFB's at each end .... and a pump ... pumping air into the delivery system to the heads . There were factory aluminum pop top pistons ... a radical high competition cam and special head design . A big block of course . I did unhook the air conditioning belt ... which was allowed when racing .... along with a special gas/fuel mixture . Those were the days buddy ... then off to the local circuit like in American Grafitti to do the cruise ... park and show ... and of course some street racing . NO ONE or NO CAR ever beat that car in it's class .... vette's ... nuttin . Of course having a famous in our area race car was'nt bad on picking up the chicks either .... Kisses ... they nicknamed her " BIG RED " ... she was dark red with tan leather interior .... 4 bucket seats factory ... no bench seats ... made parking with the ladies a pain .... LOL . Thank goodness for a blanket .... Whistling

Sunny and 70's again today.

They were painting the ceilings in the plant over the weekend.  White overspray is EVERYWHERE!  On the plus side, the white ceilings make the plant a whole lot brighter and nicer.  Another interesting week, as we are having visitors roaming around in the plant for two days.  Bob - we have numerous light curtains for visitors to break and send the machinery into e-stop.

Nothing much on the train front.  I'm considering ordering some of the ACF stock cars in the 2010 catalog.  The MKT, UP, and NYC road names kind of fit in with the rest of my stuff.

 All for now.
