Good afternoon Y'all! Well, we got home last night about 10pm and then I had to go in for a early heart this morning. Meeting was very good with regard to information. We got slammed with the snow/ice storm. I had taken the wife and kids along as it allows for them to see so much of the country in the places I go. We arrived in Nashville Thursday morning. Had meetings all day till 5pm. We had pizza for dinner and then Friday, I had meetings from 0700 till1700. At 6pm, we had reservations at BB Kings Blues Club. Anyone going to Nashville who appreciates Blues music should make a trek to that place. Kids loved it as did my wife and I. Food was good, but the musicians were better. It had snowed all day, but was powder. While at BB King's it turned to a blizzard and even the GPS would not pick up the satellites on the way to the hotel. Saturday, the roads were impassible, so I went to meetings all day and wife and kids enjoyed the room service. Took in TGI Fridays as it was next to the hotel for dinner. So, no train stores, and no gun stores.
I was not able to get onto the Internet from the Hotel, so that is why I have been out of touch. When I left, there were only 47 pages on the old pot. When I got back, over 70, so I didn't go read all that has happened. I see Chief's Mom is in the hospital. We will add her to the prayer list along with Brutus and family, Roy's sister, and Rich for his job change.RT...Happy Birthday buddy. Hope many more to come.

Hay gang, especially the Ohio crew. Watched the "Trains and Locamotives" on RFD-TV today. Film of the Cincinnati and Erie Electric travel from 1907-1938. Called the Red Devil Fleet, with Mohair seats and telephones. Showed a 90 MPH race with an airplane - the rail car won.

I had a stressful day for an old guy, can't go into it but I hope all will come to a happy ending. Got to take granny for some blood test tomorrow that insurance may not pay for but will give her some peace of mind if all is normal. If not we will just have to take it as it comes. The high school called me this morning, by mistake, turns out oldest grandson keeps missing his first class as he's too lazy to get up on time. This morning his car won't start so he just went back to bed..LOL Banilla is ready for the thingy...S.J.

Tried to get caught up over the weekend but I didn't make it. Took the grandkds to the monthly open house here http://altoonatrain.com/ on Sunday afternoon. They still love it. Ran Thomas and the rest of my trains for them on Saturday.
Looking forward to the Monroeville Show the 13th and 14th. Not sure which day I'll go, if driving isn't to hazardous. Won a Lionel HO Evans Autoloader the other day on E-bay.
Looks like the cold will retreat some what the next few days.

Evening all. We are not suppose to get the freezing rain forecasted earlier. We might get snohio Friday and Saturday but now that is an "ify". Town Board work scession was not bad. No "public" showed up. All going smooth as Asst. Town Manager is now Interim Town Manager. He knows his stuff.
Mom slept most of the time I was there. She is going home tomorrow. Yvonne is in charge and does well [gets paid well too]. I would recommend her with any older person. She knows how to get them to do things without "pressure". Lucky to have her.
Now to watch some TV and news. Popcorn time. Later

Had rotini with alfreado for dinner, sat with the young one for her homework. Cleaned up the train room storage and fixed up an 8040 for resale. Also will sell off a 2001 3rd quarter Conrail passenger car (it's an extra), so just trying to lighten the load, so to speak. Checking out the duplicates and thing I don't need to generate a few bucks later in the month.
Also tried to get the HD running, now it needs a battery - - it just won't stop costing me money...I check Wally Mart for a battery tomorrow, I gues.
Got done what I needed, checked the 'pot and off to bed.
RT - nice haul!! Real nice birthday presents!

It was around 30 and almost sunny - I think. Tied up in enough knots at work again, I don't really remember what the weather was doing at lunch time. Left the plant at 6:30 tonight and ran phone finagles until about 7:30 from home.
Shoveled a little snow on Saturday, then went to the local dirt track racing junk auction with my friend who I'm acting as chief tire pressure checker and mud scraper on his late model car. Got a gage and an adjustable shock - wow.
Worked on the LED headlight conversion on my Williams GP-9 on Sunday. I'm not really happy with the results - too yellow, though it does now have LED headlights and they are directional. The new conductor arrived at the LHS for my Polar Express announcement coach - he is installed now and the lantern works - $23 including shipping! Choke, choke. I think I'm going to be doing some surgery on the old conductor to see about replacing the burned out lantern.
Got a letter from mom Saturday. She writes that her lame knee has finally been diagnosed - no cartlege! She's worn it out. Knee replacement surgery is scheduled in a couple of weeks. I'll probably spend some time in Lansing, Michigan later this month while she is recovering.
Bob - how did your dead battery in the clock gag work out? Being an engineer and working with other engineers over the years, I've noticed that there are generally two types - the kind who will roll with the gag and get even later, and those that will fall for the gag and not have a clue.

Call of Duty is one series that I couldn't get interested in. I had CoD2 and CoD:MW, and I traded both of them for about $30 towards a used copy of Silent Hill 3 that was a good deal at $65 last year. A friend of mine whose gamertag is bassopotamus plays CoD all the time. I am playing Forza 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360 and Silent Hill 2 on the Xbox in my free time. Silent Hill is a series that really shakes me up. I have to take breaks every so often. LOL
I've been busy with school work tonight. I did a controls assignment as well as familarize myself with a barcode scanner for my group's project.
Jim - I played the first Silent Hill game PSX version on the PS2 a few years ago, man that freaked me out!
Set up a circle of O27 today and ran my new (to me) crane and it worked fine. I think it could use a little more traction, but I'm sure part of that is the tight radius of the circle. Didn't get a chance to do more than that as my wife called and we all did video chat again tonight.
Thanks for all the prayers and intentions guys. She's in a hard part of the chemo process now and I know that they are helping her through this. Prayers for all of us and our loved ones here on the pot.

Not much on the observing front tonight. System is about to come thru and things aren't nearly good enough for the new receiver. Helping out the engineers and doing some more organizing of the tool benches.
8N - my little joke kind of got stalled today, as this it what the engineers first arrived to.
Apparently, they ran across this guy on the road and with all the snow on the sides he just kept trotting up in front of their truck and then took a break for a while right in front of the door.
Found too good of a deal on a 2035, the Adriatic in Pennsy style w/ Belpaire firebox. So much for saving all the cash for car parts. Shell is in good shape, just about all the parts are there, and the price was right. Was looking at Hudsons, but they are a bit out of my price range. Also found a nice tender sans whistle that I can try the ERR Sound Commander board in.
Brutus - continued prayers for the wife. The photo below is for you, her, and the family. Candle has a bit of a tough time at this altitude, but it's hanging in there.

It is 26 degrees. Cloudy. A few snow flurries are due today. Going up to 35 today with some sunshine. Six more weeks of winter weather are due according to the ground hog that Chief hasn't shot yet.
Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and chores to do. Yesterday was good at physical therapy. I am achy today. Have to keep moving, to work the muscles. Nap will be needed this afternoon.
Dining car has arrived for the usual breakfast.

Taking today off. This is Catholic Schools Week and there is a special Mass with the combined high school and grade school. The Bishop will be the main celebrant so it will be a big deal.
The kids are excited.
I got the tie in for the gas line to the new dryer in. Always extra cautious when working with 80+ year old pipe. You never know when breaking into the system may cause leaks in other places.
Got to go. Going to the LHS and picking up a new to me 332! I'll tell you more about it when it is in my hand!

Morning all. Had a little refreezing but now thawing up. Seems the rain will be a cold one but not freezing. Now all eyes are on tomorrow as it will go into the 50's. Next is what will happen Friday and Saturday. May have some mix or may not.
LAZ. ground hog will not see his shadow here as I shot him back in the late summer/early fall.
Got up early and watched the Trans and Locomotives and the C&LE [The Ohio RR which was really before its time]. Pat mentioned watching the Red Devil. They had piggy backs before other folks and had house delivery before UPS.
Now for more coffee and relax.
Does anyone have Comcast AND get the RFD channel. I can't find it in any of the levels of digital service. Asking here might be easier than trying to call Comcast. Thanks.

Like I had one older army guy kinda depressed and I said you can't be depressed I'll tell you what I'm not suppose to tell other branches what navy stands for but if it'll cheer you up a little I'll let you in on this secrete " Never Again Volunteer Yourself " I thought he was going to fall out of the bed laughing so hard it just the timing and the way it hit him his wife said bless you you are a one of a kind. Thats what gets me going and why I enjoy it so much.
