Brutus - it is in St. Charles the 1st weekend of February. I went back and looked it up. Glad to hear your wife's treatment has started.
Got back from lake house. Ridgecap screwed down to Ranger Barn. Was no problem. Hardest thing was staying over the 2X4's under the metal roof so my fat body did not dent roof. Had a 2010 Census meeting at 4 PM [who calls a meeting at 4 PM on Fridays?] with Feds.
Took photos of lake. It had dropped a foot. Now I am going to post photos of Oct level [some may have missed them] and then approximately the same area taken today. This water came up in 4 days. That is a lot of water with over 850 miles of shore line on this lake.

I made it back from the woods in one piece. All and all a good week in the woods. I shot this little guy not too far from an old 3' gauge RR grade from the 1880's

Been a lot of hurts around here lately...thanks to the friends here who give an ear and a prayer to so many concerns.
Will check back on Sunday. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.Dennis

Mornin' boys. Partly sunny and 41 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Getting crackin' on the laundry already. Perhaps scrambled eggs with diced ham in the dining car when the ladies arise.
Hope BK is takin' it easy.

Good Morning from foggy Southern Ohio
Well finished the homily for this weekend last night. With the help of the Holy Spirit the words will strike a note on someone.
I have to do a closet shelf repair today. We have the closet maid shelves and the shelf in my closet fell dumping my clothes in a heap. Also need to get the stuff for the train show coming up next weekend. I am going to set up my All Aboard AF scenic panels. I don’t see them very often so it may be of interest.
Jim – The full name of the Baker book is, Greenberg’s S American Flyer S Gauge 1945-1965 Repair and Operating Manual, by Thomas B.Barker; Greenberg Pub. It comes up on ebay maybe once a month or so but goes for >$50 usually. Many of the pages are almost directly from the Service Manual, but there is a lot of really good service tips and instructions. It would be a great addition to your library. Here is a link to one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200407038795&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Jim F –Continued prayers for your bride!
Chief – that lake is beautiful!
Charlie – you are really stoking my desire to go hunting again!
Time to get to work.
May God bless
Jim
Morning. Was chilly last night but warming fast. Sunny today. Rain coming tomorrow PM and into Monday. We have set a new record. Latest in the fall without a freeze. Yes, only a slight frost in some areas but no freeze. Eat your hearts out Yanks.
Raleigh has messed up again. They have banned Mrs. Santa from their Christmas Parade. Said it would confuse kids. Well, lets see if that gets overturned. BTW: I am having lunch with Mrs. Santa today as she is newly elected School Board member supporting Rolesville having the new high school. We allow Mrs. Santa in our parade and she is also with Santa at the park evry night in Dec until Chirstmas.
Chat later.
Good Morning
Still overcast and 40s I think.
For some reason I am not hungry this morning, so a fried egg and bologna sandwich is going to do it. Congrats to Charlie on his sucessful hunt. He sent me a pic a few days ago but this is his story to tell. Noon today will bring saturday football to our tv room, I will have to check the paper to see who is playing. Hmm I think it is Ohio state and Michigan. Have a nice weekend....S.J.

Chief - Thanks for the update. I have now struck Raleigh,NC off my list of places to visit/live.
Jim,
I found some copies of that book elsewhere. Thanks for the info.
I got the Flyer 760 this morning. It is in nice shape, but there is some light red overspray on the lip above each bulb. It should be easy to remove. The red coating on the bulbs is flaked, so I'll probably replace them.
Aloha all from a sunny Crystal Lake where the bride and I are doing too much today. Have to go over to the Parents Mtg for the wrestling team. Half-done with setting up Christmas - early so it's ready when we come back from T'giving. Half the lights don't work. Half the ornaments are up. Need a nap. LOL. Prayers for our needs.

Mich - Good shot! You got some good eating ahead.
Chief - Is that the infamous floating dock? I swear I see a shark or two out there!
Steve - Judging from a recent series on Alaska, all kinds of fish and game are still available.
The cup race tomorrow is going to be booooring! Jimmy Johnson is a great racer, but starting on the pole, having the best pit space, and needing to only finish 25th or better, it is all going his way. For me that makes it snooze time.
Only possible excitement is Brad Keselowski and the recent enemies he has made.

Trying to sneak Christmas cookies around here is liable to get one into some deep trouble.

Oh my goodness but this is the height of stupidity. . . save for Notre Dame's football prowess. Sad to be a Domer. Good thing it's basketball season.
This has certainly has been an incredibly busy 10 days and nights for the two of us but finally yesterday we were able to really relax and enjoy the company of Doug at the San Diego Train Museum. It was like a breath of fresh air finding their room and getting away from those silly two rail train layouts in the other part of the building Doug gave us the special tour and it was just fantastic, thank you Doug. If any of you ever get to southern CA for a vacation be sure and set aside a day for time at Balboa Park and experiencing the San Diego Train museum, WELL WORTH THE TIME. We head home tomorrow, it seems like we just got here yesterday.

So many roads, so little time.
Was nice this morning here in middle Indiana, good enough for me to think I was going up on the roof to deleaf the gutters and put up the lights........ all went well until I started to step onto the roof and the ladder began to slide back ...I had my waist line above the gutter when the top end of the ladder slid down and away and of course I followed..........down....down..down.managed to hit the deck more or less feet first, but ended up tweaking my left ankle as it ended up caught in the rungs. Sooo... I nailed a cleat to keep that ladder from slipping again and went on up as my loving wife suggests that I come in rest for a minute and I mumble something about getting my work done while I can still walk! Soooo about 6 hours later, I no walkie walkie BUt I got the lights up and I can still get down to the train room so it wasn't that bad was it
Hello all.
Mitch- good job. I'm looking forward to our opening day a week from Monday.
Jon- Safe trip
Mrs Santa, Confuse the kids?????. Someone is confused besides the kids.
Busy week here. No trains run. Trying to get every thing ready for winter. Started to re-assemble tractor. Need it to haul manure. Son is picking corn for a friend. He broke his picker.
Four yearlings will arrive this week.
Spent today working on another 2 million plus bid at the office. We did get awarded a new Walmart store this week. At a break even price. At least the men will be working.
Going to bed soon. Get to sleep in till 06:00 tomorrow. Mass at 07:00.
Prayers to all who may need them

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the high 50s. I did yard work for an hour and then did weights and soccer drills at the YMCA. We went to Mass tonight and visited dad for a little bit. Going to Bloomington tomorrow to visit daughter, son-in-law and grandson. I saw where Menard's had their Lionel sets on sale. Just glad to see the name in advertising. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast. TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Did a nice 2 mile run today then went a hunting for pheasants. Well ended up in a 4 hr. hike, NO pheasants, Oh well had anice fire ate dogs and burgers. Ran trains for an hour NO PILE UPs.

Howdy guys - St. Charles in February might be doable, I'll have to check into that My wife has been on transfusions since April and erinest (SP?) shots. Right now, the schedule has her in the hospital the first week of January and then that should last about 4 to 6 weeks after the chemo and the transplant is done. Thanks for the prayers and they are out for all you guys too, esp Bob, Bob, Bill's wife, JimSP, Jeffrey, Brent, Chief, Dennis & family, Jack.... I'm sure I'm forgetting some, so prayers for all of us and our loved ones.
Tardis is ready and I see some beacons are still on - Jim went to bed, but can use the wayback circuit of course. Need to get Rich, Patrick and MIke on that power conduit - apparently it is leaking? Guess I can fly 'em better than I can fix 'em! Let's go!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Partly cloudy and 50's today.
Ran the normal Saturday errands. Loaded up this summer's accumulation of brush and yard debris and took it to the city's composting facility.
Ran trains for a bit and worked on my frend's Marx 666 a little. The wheels were throwing sparks, so I went over them with a Dremel and wire brush. Hooked the track cleaning car to the #600 switcher and ran that around the middle loop for a while too.
Got to thinking that the cotton wiping cylinders the track cleaning car uses look an awful lot like the cotton packing the dentist jams in your mouth while working on a tooth. I'll have to check the drug store as a source. If all else fails, maybe I can bum some off of the dentist next time I visit.
Later all.
Off to bed. Tired. Spent day with the two School Board members and then we met at the Middle School's 20th Anv. Tired. Off tomorrow AM to Mom's down east. Taking Thankgiving meal to her for noon tomorrow. Suppose to start raining again by late afternoon. Good night all.
Completed first day of Cal Stewart Meet today and I'm all tuckered out. Ran trains for the show all morning then went shopping after being releived. Passed on a MTH proto 1 Southern PS4 mint for $350. Would have bought it but the seller could not take credit cards and I left the check book home. I did buy a Golden Gate Depot 80 ft. Southern Pacific Combine (Heavyweight) in Daylight colors. These are scale and beautiful cars with lighted interiors and people inside. Tinplate or scale wheels and couplers. I got mine for three rail. Color does not match MTH Daylight colors but what the heck, it still looks good in the train. Real cars varied too according to age and use. Ran my MTH Metrolink engine with K Line Metrolink cars for the show. We also ran a MTH UP E6 streamlined trains and numerous steam engines. Standard Gauge was run as well. The show provided us with a 6 ft. Christmas tree to go on our layout. It was a nice touch. We put it on one end of a figure 8 standard gauge track. Going back tomorrow for the final day of the meet. Public will be allowed in from 10:00AM until 4:00PM tomorrow. Drawing for raffle prizes at end of the meet.
Later,

Back at the scope for the big Taiwanese Turkey Shoot:) Was on my foot more today than the last week or so combined. After a few hours up here was thinking I might have jumped the gun a bit. Not really painful, but just letting me know it's there. Been elevating it and that helps. You should see me trying to roll around the control room w/ two office chairs. Takings the steps slowly and one at a time to keep weight off the right foot. I've also been carrying the crutches from floor to floor. The brace/boot they have me in is somewhat awkward since it makes that foot crab more. Ever since the military my feet walk at 45 degrees, so it seems like I'm going sideways at time. My friend John is calling me Igor.
8ntruck - glad to hear they found out something w/ your wife. Hopefully they can avoid surgery. And getting train parts from the dentist might actually be almost a reason to go. I'm overdue for a check-up and all, but after all the fun this year, I just can't bring myself to schedule that one.
Brutus - sounds like things are working out for your wife's procedure. Hoping and praying for you.
Steve - good to hear from you. How's the "new" ride doing BTW?
Doug - all the talk about your museum got me to thinking. Any connection w/ the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo? They were the ones wanting to to do runs over the Goat Canyon Trestle in the Carrizo Gorge.
Doug M - didn't make it to the post office, but I'll get it there.
Jim - how does the 4 piece boiler 302 break down? I was curious if the one I have is such an animal. BTW did you see the Flyer 766 in the latest issue of CTT?
Brought enough train stuff to keep me distracted and hopefully in one place for a while. Going to try cleaning the rails of the old switches w/ goo gone, throw in some bulbs, and do some testing. I also brought up the 1615 and the FA to do some cleaning and oiling. The FA is new but I think it could benefit from some of that Lucas Hi-Tack Red. Thanks again for whoever suggested that.
Also need to clean up the 258 set and get it off to its new home. A friend who has been helping me out in the neighborhood this summer is interested in some of the radios I was thinking of selling. May finally start using that to fund the train habit and it'll avoid having to ship one of the heaviest of them.

Mornin' boys,
Long week and seems like a longer weekend. Pulled the Christmas stuff down yesterday, ran all over town getting the stuff I need to build a layout for a coworker. Princess has been in the hospital since Monday, so I've been tied up with that. She'll most likely leave there Monday afternoon. Praying that this incident will be over and we can move on.
With all the toubles, still excited that the Christmas season is upon us. Have to finish shopping for dinner for Thursday. Still have to finish the oldest's axle swap later today, visit the Princess and get the framing done on the train table.
to all that need 'em...God does thing in mysterious ways.
The weather here has been in the hi 70's, saw some young blonde thing and her 2 y/o blonde daughter at Lowe's yesterday. In NOVEMBER? Something just ain't right!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Morning. Chilly and sunny. Rain to move in later. Prayers for Bob, Princess, Brutus' wife and others. Moving slow this AM. Going to Mom's with noon meal. Wifey is off all this coming week. She'll want to do her projects all week. Going to the lake house either Thanksgiving night or that Friday morning. Have a great week. Later.
