Hey Bill - you have a safe trip!  We've stopped in the Train Haus a couple times, but never bought from them.  Today I was escorting my wife from one examination to another - she had a heart test, a lung test, and then finished with 12 vials of blood for the labs.  They said she should eat a lot of protien to feel better, so I took her and the kids to the Texas Roadhouse.  Finished the George Stephenson book - very interesting!  He was a real character and really did usher in the Railway, even if he didn't invent everything himself.  He built the first really useful engines!

Tardis roadtrip to Blueberry Hill - I'm up for it!  Let's get the party rolling, Rich can tweak the stabilizers so we don't keep swaying back and forth Laugh

Prayers for all in need!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hey y'all, from Bowling Green Ky. tonight.  Caught up with the rainy grey weather we had yesterday in Sedalia.

I ran across an article about the ammunition shortage here in the U.S.  Chief's recent purchases might explain some of it Whistling.

Stopped by the Train Haus just west of St Louis on the way through.  Nothing there I just had to have.  They did have a Williams Texas Special on display.  Didn't look too bad.  No B unit, though.

Sorry Jim, our travel plans were not defined enough to try and see you on the way through.  One of these days.....

Just 10 hours to Orlando tomorrow.

Later, y'all.

Not much going on here just figured a way to reclaim the train room put new bedroom set in this room . move desk to the den and that leaves my train room for meBig Smile. boss should go with that we really don't use the den and I've always like it so theres my solution.

Well not much else going on off tomorrow time to relax kinda need to give wife some boxes to go thru and I need to do paperwork for advancement opportunities.

So take care

Henry rifles are heavily advertised on RFD-TV. Haven't seen one in person but they sound like quality rifles. My Remington 40 Yr. old 30-06 still doing a fine job.

Banks - We need an AMTMA (for toy train birthday parties) here in our neck of the woods.

Up early and took Lucy to groomers in neighboring town [18 miles away].  Back with neighbor to finish most of the house [left some in the back where shrubs are going to be cut back].  Rushed back to get Lucy [pretty girl].  Put up equipment.  Shaved and hit the shower.  Dress in tie for Open House at new Dialysis Center.  Yes Roseyville is moving up in the world.  Big center and training center too.  Now at Town Hall signing documents.

Back home to get things ready for trip to the lake.  Sure grass needs mowing with all the rain they have had.  BTW: we ended up with 2.1".

Going to Hunters Haven here in town and purchase the Henry Golden Boy in .22Mag.  Got a .17 bolt action.  Henry made rifles for the early "west".  It was a great lever action that was very accurate.  It had a yellow brass receiver [the part that meets the stock between the barrel] and thus the Golden Boy.   I have a rare Winchester lever action .22Mag.  Love it.  It is one that the whole trigger mechanism drops down with the lever.  Thus, it has side ejection and not top like most Winchester lever actions do.  It is a very accurate.

Better get out the door or I will never make it [visitors and more visitors].

Later.

Morning all, good news!  I passed a kidney stone last night so it is highly probable that that is what caused the color in my urine.  Have to report to doctor though as I still have'nt heard anything about the test they did.

Off to get a haircut now before it gets hot.

Later, Ray

Big doins in lovly Lakewood this am. Four police officers shot while executing a warrent this am. Couple blocks from my house, got news hellicopters hovering all morning. Good news is all the cops survived and its looking like fairly minor injuries. Two shot in the chest(both had vests) one shot in the foot and one shot in the head and for some reason the bullet didn't penetate his skull, it deflected and exited the side of his head( entered front forehead). That man had an angel on his shoulder! Bad guy was also shot several times but unfortunatly also survived. Eveidently they entered the home and were heading for the second floor when the guy started shooting down on them from above. We lost an officer just two years ago while responding to a call a deer jumped in front of his car , hit a tree and was killed instantly. Probably would have never known what happened if the camera on the car hadn't been on. but it was on cause he was on a call with lights andsiren going. Just heard the guy that was hit in the head is awake and comunicating with family and doctors, even joking around. Hes one lucky guy. Just reported it was a 357 the bad guy was using.

Good morning all,

It is rainy again in SE Indiana (hopefully will get games in tonight) and muggy.  I did weights, treadmill and soccer drills at the YMCA after a short nap last night.  Watched some of "Glee" on Fox.  May be a good show.  Watched some of "Mercy" while at YMCA.  Wife watched some of "Eastwick" as well.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  I had no problems driving last night in the Tardis, but there was some discussion among the passengers as to what to watch on the big screen.  I had to put the stabilizers on three-quarter power to keep everybody from rocking the Tardis!  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

 Hello all,

I've been following along without much to say. Doing lots of stuff that's been put off and needs done before winter. May start some wine this evening.

Having grandson's 4th birthday party here Friday evening. http://amtma.blogspot.com/2009/01/let-amtma-host-your-birthday-party.html It's a nice place. They have the top floor of an old building with layouts in "O" "S" "HO" and "N". they have two loops of ride on Thomas for the kids as well as several Thomas and Brio tables for the kids to play with. They hold open house one weekend a month from September to April. They do private parties for kids. I've taken the grandkids several times, they love it

Chief, what's a Henry Golden Boy rifle

Sounds like something my grandson could use

Prayers to all who may need them

Cloudy and cool here today.

Corporate group is in the plant this week.  Lots of meetings going on.  They have pulled 26 people from the plant into them.  Yesterday the meetings ran from 8am to 8pm.  Today, they knocked off about 1pm and took the group bowling?????  I'll have to remember to thank my boss for keeping me out of these meetings.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again - American industry is hilareous to watch, if you stay in the proper frame of mind.

Prayers for those who need them.  It looks like there might be some more medical projects starting....

I'll be dropping off of the grid for about 10 days.  Driving to Orlando with my son, then off to Spain on Saturday for a week long business trip.  I don't know if I'll have access to a computer or not.  I'll check in, if I can.

Later all.

Man Chief, you got a lot done today.  Hope that mass is "nothing"!

Running later tonight - off tomorrow though and taking wife to doctors for exams and more exams.  This is a big step - if she passes them (when), then the sister gets her exam and the clock is ticking Thumbs Up

Ran trains - TPC reset to factory defaults.  Drops voltage on [direction] button, but then sometimes it's a bigger drop then others - I cranked the Z1000 to full power, thinking that would get closer to a full sine-wave, if that's the problem.  Well, it did work better - I was able to get it to switch into forward, then neutral, then eventually forward again?  Switched back to command mode and ran Thomas while Percy ran on an O27 circle with my cw80.  No Pileups!

Laz - I heard Charlie went hunting for Bear!

Mike, you can drive tonight - I'll hit the wayback circuit and come get you all in a minute!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Off to bed.  Good Criminal Minds.  Wifey and I watch this one and eat popcorn together.  Got call from Dr's nurse and she said I needed to go to Specialist as xray shows I have a sinus infection.  Will go and get them "pumped" out.  This will be the only male Dr. I have.  He does a good job and it will work.  Then the same nurse called Wifey and told her that her xray shows a mass and she needs that taken care of.   We both have the same Dr.  In fact, the whole family [except Alison who is now in Wilmington but did before she moved] has the same Dr.  I started out with her and the gang loved her so they all go [including Frankie].  Got to get up early tomorrow to take Lucy to get haircut.  No gym as neighbor [the one that is needy] and I will do more powerwashing on house and buildings.  We did that from around 4:30 til dark.  Makes house look like new bricks and mortor.  Got one side left.  I pay him about three times what the usual rate is.  Then we add some in to help them out.  Then an open house at 1.  Hope to buy a Henry Golden Boy rifle tomorrow afternoon and then go to the lake.   No gym or trains until I get back.  Later

Good Evening

We had another nice day close to 80, ah but the clock is ticking. Had a nice walk this morning and we went to some kind of info fair for seniors. Free samples, BP test, that sort of thing. Students from the career prep center cooking class fed us. It was something different to do. I even ran a few trains today. Banilla is ready and waiting for Brutus and the thingy...S.J.

Good afternoon all, man, it has really been hot here for the last two days.  I think it's around 103 today.  Probably Santa Ana wind conditions causing it.  New fire burning near Moorpark.  No smoke where I live so far.  I can't run trains when it gets this hot in the garage.  I have been taking advantage of the features offered on the net by CTT.  Looking at reviews and videos.  Went for a walk this morning before it got too hot and to the store for goodies later but that has been about it for the day.  My son, who is tougher than me, went to see an Angels Baseball game today.  Plan on buying Chinese take out food tonight.  It's too hot to cook.  I think I'll dig out the Oct. issue of CTT and take a look at that article on building an inexpensive transfer table.  Sounds interesting and I looked at the video of the thing in operation.  Looked pretty good.  I just got my November issue of CTT today.  Looked like somebody tried to eat the back cover but the rest of it is OK.  I like the magazines wrapped in a plastic bag.  Never had a problem with those.  I have been thinking about what I can sell to generate a litttle cash for some more train stuff at Cal Stewart but when it comes right down to it, I don't have that much that I want to part with.  It's funny how each piece has a story that goes with it.  Like how and when you got it. What you paid?  Each piece brings back a lot of memories so unless a piece is a real dog, it's hard to let go.  These trains are kind of like pets.  You become attached to them.  I'm beginning to understand how a friend of mine who has a small warehouse full of trains, hardly ever sells anything.  It's a little extreme with him though because he has so many duplicates.  He would tell you though that each one is a variation or something.  He says that when he passes on, he is going to have all of them melted down into a big glob.  I doubt that.  I'm sure his family would have something to say about it.  He's probably just pulling my chain.

Pat, I must have missed that feature in the CTT newletter you mentioned like Bob's train box.  I think I probably deleted it by accident.

Chief, you are really dedicated getting up at 5:30 to go to a gym.  Did'nt know they opened that early.

Have a good evening y'all

Ray

Evenin' boys.  Evenin' English.  Have to take place in a mass-calamity drill tomorrow at the Wally-Mart.

Northwoods - Almost pulled the trigger on that Flamingo Hotel last year...just didn't have the "real estate" for it.  Was kinda hoping family member would have got it for Christmas.  Next article will also have a pink beauty as well.

dougnotta - A lot of firehouses in our area host Christmas "gardens".  Apparently Co 41 is gonna give it a try.  It's in a popular area near Fells Point (parking is always a nightmare).  Thanks for the heads-up.  I once read where the tradition we all enjoy putting a village and train around the tree, began with the German immigrants in our area.
