Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Went to the trains show.  Lots of layouts.  Few vendors.  Grandson and son-in-law enjoyed the day as well.  Watched a tape of F-1 race.  "Desperate Housewives" is on next.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car.  Could not find toad today.  May have moved on.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening everyone.  Was a great day at church.  I was supposed to be on lights today, but they needed me on camera this morning.  Great service followed by Sunday School.  Had to go back early for a "Way of the Master" class we are taking.
Mike C., we had a large toad in the back yard last year.  Thing would croak for hours and just when I thought i'd had enough, a rattle snake ate him.  We do have a diverse eco system around here.  Keeps things interesting.

Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead,

Dennis

Jim, The Shakespeare set per Lionel comes with an electronic whistle that sounds like the English version.

Okay RT - I ran trains first, then finished putting up drywall in the inside of the closet (still need to do some finishing touches, battery died on the drill and the charger was empty!), then I mowed the lawn, had a chat with the neighbor, mowed some more, then gave Chewy a bath, and then gave ME a shower!  I'm pooped.  Did not make it to the xbox, but trains were fun - 5 cars on the HEX now (Nos 18 - 22),  I found that after it ran for a while, the whistle was a little better.  Doug - that sounds like a good idea, but I've never heard the Shakespeare set.

Oops - wife drove across town to pick up some Jimmy Johns Sandwiches, but forgot her wallet!  So, now we will be having McDonalds (just up the street).  Oh well, McDonalds is good.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Aloha. Bears win! Notre Dame wins! A good weekend of football. Beauty day today. Last day of 80s I'm sure. Supposed to crash to 50s-40s tonight. Spent the day trying to fix the dryer. Won't heat. Did everything I could think of. Nada worked. So service call for Tues. There goes a few hundred. Oh well. Goooood news for Mrs. Brutus.

Man - woke up with a terrible headache and upset tummy - I think it was from Jim's aerobatics!  Could have been a bad batch of Root Beer, though, lol!  Sounds like Universal Monster Movie weather, Jim!

Today I shall work on the basement, maybe mow the lawn if it dries out, and then play xbox.  TTFN!

Good Morning

Some fog  and overcast 60s.

I had fun driving the thingy last nite. They were hiding booze somewhere as everyone staggered out the door as I dropped them off. Love those loop-de-loops. No plans for the day so far.  Have a great Sunday...S.J.

HI GYZ,

Wet and damp here, we got about 1.5 inches of rain yesterday.  Back porch roof is leaking a few drops so gotta repair that this week.  Watched end of the PSU game against IOWA, PSU was PU.  Ran trains for 2 hrs last nite in basement all puuuurfect, NO PILE UPs.

BUCKEYE sent you a PM.  Great shots with your camera I like it tell me more.

Stay frosty,

Mornin' boys.  Rain and 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to clear out by noon.  Wifey's nephew spent night, will let him run trains in a bit. Will probably go sailing later on today...right after the RAVENS host the browns.  Former Commissar Tagliaboo-boo recommended that Baltimore build a museum after handing Carolina a franchise (how's their attendence?).  Perhaps one will be built for Joe Flaccooooo, who will continue to pile up points this week.  Hopefully the d-backs and special-teams worked hard on open field drills, as cleveland's rookie return man could be trouble.

Prediction - RAVENS 34 browns 13

BUCKEYE, I'm in the process of getting a new camera, what kind do you have?  Is that the one that shot the video?  Which by the way was totally awesome.DUDE!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Smile

Laz, the camera is a Cannon Power Shot S2 IS.  I have had it since 2006.  Cannon does not make it anymore, but makes a Power Shot S5 IS.  The feature I like the most is the LCD viewing screen will swivel.  This feature is great when photographing the O gauge trains at track level.  The camera has a function where it can be set up to take photos at predetermined time periods.  You have seen those documentaries where they have a flower opening and closing, well this camera can be set to take that type of photo.  It also takes continuous photos.  I have used this many times to take photos of a moving train engine and I seem to always end of with one good photo.  Here is an example of photos taken using the continuous mode:

The green trees made all the difference.

At the time the S2 was probably near the top in non-SLR camera, but today there are several non-SLR cameras that have the great features.

Jim, I really like the TPC's for giving the ability to operate in various modes but unfortunately it does seem to have a weakness, Air Whistles! If I use a TPC on the club layout to run the wife's Hogwarts the whistle is extremely poor but if I switch over to transformer ops it works fine. For a test try setting the tender on a section of track powered by a CW-80 and then on the track controlled by TPC, the whistle difference is considerable.

When going outside at the museum yesterday I kept hearing all kinds of hi-revving big engines, last weekend they had hydro races so  I assumed it was the big thunderboats this weekend. Wrong, as part of "Fleet Week" they are having  road racing at North Island Naval Air Station.  You name it, chances are it will be there. NASCAR style cars to Euro's and even Bob's TR's.

Hey man - sorry, I haven't had any time on the xbox since then, not online anyway.  I was playing coop Halo 3 with my son last weekend for an hour or two, but that's it.  I'll hook up tomorrow and see what is what though - thanks!

The 4-6-0 I have is an ATSF set from MTH from a couple years ago.  It is a really good smoker - when you stop, the smoke goes up like a line and it smokes very well while running.  Have to watch it to make sure it doesn't run low!

Nice chats with RT, SJ and Charlie tonight.  I'm fading fast so I'll let SJ drive tonight and hang out in the game lounge for a while Smile

Brutus,

Does the smoke go straight up out of the stack on your 4-6-0? I have the 4-6-0 from the Christmas set (yuck), and the smoke kind of rolls from the stack in a big puff, but I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to be. BTW, that friend request that I sent to you on Live should appear as a message. If you get a chance, check out the Forza 3 demo. It is an amazing racing game.

Thanks guys!  Bruthilda is in good spirits Smile

Steve and Jon, prayers for your needs.

Buckeye - great video and love the music choice, perfecto!

Had a lot of fun at Blueberry Hill last night!  I left the other guys to play tag with Don't neighbor as I had to get to bed early to work today.  Didn't turn out very well, as I only got about 4 hours of sleep.  Worked, then went to a local train store (Electric Trains Outlet) and picked up a 180Watt Powerhouse and cables.  Big storm hit, so came home and took a nap.  Later, I hooked up the brick and ran my MTH 4-6-0 (proto 2) in conventional, then my new GP9, and then the Hogwarts Express - everything ran great, although I think the whistle on the HEX was a little off?  It's been a while, so maybe I just don't remember what it sounded like, lol!

Laz - they had that NS "oil can" set - man, great detail on that set - you got a good one Thumbs Up

Good evening all,

What started as a foggy day in SE Indiana ended up as IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  It was so foggy and cloudy (how foggy was it...) that we turned on the lights for a 9 AM soccer game.  The toad is still here.  I reffed a wonderfully played 4-0 game at 9 and a horrible 3-3 tie where half the scores came off PKs.  "My" soccer girls lost a heartbreaker 1-0 today and the boys lost 3-0.  After the games, I came home and mowed the yard (making sure to cover the toad with a recycling bin so I did not hit it).  Then I went to Mass.  Going to the Great Train Show at Indy tomorrow.  Tired.  I had biscuits and bacon this morning on the dining car for breakfast (courtesy the "saucy wench") before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL and I will be sleeping in the lounge section of the Tardis.  All I ask is that Don's neighbor does not shake the Tardis too much.   Great news, Brutus on the status of Mrs. Brutus!  We will keep praying.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

We are in Cedar Falls tonight as our Grandson will be Baptized tomorrow morning, a special day for sure.  It's been a week of tremendous highs and the lowest of lows, I did explain it to Chief earlier and I'll share more after Monday but just let me say my heart is very heavy but life does go on.

Internet was out yesterday. Finally figured out I needed to power cycle the cable modem for the internet not just the main cable modem after their little fun yesterday. Trip to Phoenix was good. Doctor said the test they wanted to do (and thus the second trip) would probably be inconclusive. Everything up to this point is looking like esophageal spasms and they want to start me on a calcium channel blocker. I have to wait and check w/ my doc first as we may need to substitute it for some of the blood pressure meds I am already on. Diabetic education class is good as well. I am now counting calories and carbs (warning: don't try this after you've had mexican food unless you have a calculator).

Roy's Train World was fun. I picked up the track pins I needed, but unfortunately they only sell Lionel smoke fluid and only had it in the maintenance kit. Was looking forward to smoking up the living room w/ the 2026. Guess I'll just have to get it on line. Also picked up the newest Lionel catalog, the Kalmbach Command Control book, and a Williams Pacific Fruit Express Reefer. Now I'll have something other than the submarine car and caboose to drag around. Nice detail on the Williams car.

Did a lot of organizing and cleaning in the garage yesterday. Hung lights and new power setup as well. Should be able to finish up today and next weekend finally start some engine work. Have a friend in town staying w/ me for a week or so. Will be seeing Rebel Without a Cause on the big screen tonight. I've never seen it. Then off to scope after church in the morning.

Brutus - awesome news!

Ray - glad to hear you are doing better

Well off to find something to eat and then more work in the garage.

Thanks Jim.

Steve W. sounds like the wild west days with people jumping the counter at the bank. However that happens down here in south Florida a lot at pharmacies and conveniance stores(7-11, Cumberland Farms). Also a while back somebody shot the Brinks armored car couriers while at a bank, used an AK-47(Soviet army assault rifle, 7.64 mm ammo, has full automatic), in the legs or knee caps, wasn't aiming to kill just injure the persons so he could steal the money from the Brinks truck.

Still very busy at times, did laundry this morning as my wife has a saturday class for her job with the school distric, two saturdays a year or about $400.00 extra pay, just for the classes.

Gasoline seems to be coming down in price a few cents, found gas today for $2.439 a gallon. Temp still in the high 80's during the day and near 75 at night.

Business seems to be picking up a little bit on the turnpike, at least yesterday was better than most fridays lately, more cars.

Steve W - ...even if we can't say "it", "it" certainly does happen here quite a bit... Laugh  Some folks here are regular PhD's on "it".  Some work on "it" like an artist would work with clay or a canvas.  I think if you were to Google it, there would probably be a direct link to the Coffee Pot.

Morning All!!  Things have calmed down here for awhile. I sold an old leaf blower to the new next door neighbor yesterday. He was glad to have it and I got enough money to buy food this week. He even offered me a beer which I accpted cause when your out of work and broke ya don't spend on that and hadn't had any in almost two years . It was nice just B S ing (can ya say that here?) Then I found out he has a box of old trains!! He's supposed to find them and bring them over and trade them for an old engine I have sitting on my work bench. Might be nothing but who knows whats in that box? If it is really good post war stuff I have a trailer in the yard he really wants so I can use that as a barganing point. Got to go to a job fair...Later Steve

Great news Brutus.  Prayers for continued success!

Peaceful morning as son is at a friend's house for a birthday party.  Daughter is in playing and wife and I are sorting through the return paperwork, etc. from 9 days away.  Have not had a chance to search the past days worth of posts, but hope to be up on most goings on.

Will check in later, but have some more paperwork to do for work.  At least with the net, I can do some of that from home.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a gloomy and cool 62 degrees. Rain today and 72 degrees.

Today is a lazy day. Papework to do and then I will relax. Maybe run trains later.

Only a few more days before the newest addition to the trains arrives.

Dining car was here and we had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.
